These are the freshest, most-delicious donuts in all of VT! Service is phenomenal and there are so many choices on a weekly basis. I would highly recommend if you?re in the area!

We were nearby town on an errand, and this place was recommended. We easily placed an order online the night before, and picked it up the following morning. The order of donuts was packaged neatly in a box, and all the donuts were delicious! They had so many interesting flavors as well. I look forward to stopping by again to try something new.

What a gem! Wish we had these type of donuts back home. Our family absolutely loved the donuts The fillings are amazing and the gluten free donut is out of this world. It sure doesn't taste gluten free. Not only is the gluten free donut gluten free but it is also vegan. It will become a destination donut shop, if it isn't already.

The place looks cute and the donuts are displayed beautifully. We got; the banana cream, the creme brulee, the chocolate glazed, the cinnamon sugar, the maple glazed, the salted chocolate, the coffee oreo, and the apple fritter. When you purchased a WELL established local favorite and start changing things please don't be surprised when sales fall too. The quality of the donuts has gone down hill DRAMATICALLY. The reviews have a very telling story and rather than face that fact and try to fix it the owner is posting paragraphs explaining instead of simply taking the recipes and using them. Awesome place to check out. Too bad they are only open 3 days a week! The apple fritters are amazing!! The chocolate cake donuts also amazing. Maple donut holes really good as well. The other regular donuts are good but some can be too doughy for my liking. A variety of flavors that changes weekly. I haven't tried a filled donut yet. My biggest complaint is that they make the donuts in canola oil which is really awful for you.

One of the best donuts we've ever had! Freshly baked and chewy. This was our first time there, so we had to try one of each: Creme Brulee, Blueberry Jelly, Strawberry Frosted, Cookies and Creme, Rainbow Sprinkle, Lemon Curd, Maple Glazed, and Apple Fritters. Run, don't walk, in order to get your donuts from here! Every list for the state of Vermont that lists any "best of" should have this shop recognized. The apple fritters are spot on. Not oily with plenty of glaze and apple filling. The cake donuts are also amazing. We will happily return if we are nearby again.

I visit my sister every summer up here in Vermont and she was dying to try these donuts with me on a little food adventure! We drive nearly 2 hours to get our donuts and it was completely worth it!!! These donuts are over the top!! It is always hard to choose one from the many amazing choices available each weekend. But my favorite?s list keeps getting longer and longer. Maple Bacon is a top choice!

Quality is a little shaky since transition to new ownership, but still a great doughnut. Portions feel slightly smaller, and quality now varies week to week, and often item to item, but overall still a good spot.

We spend a very small amount of time in VT each year and North Country Donuts is a must have for when we visit! My sister drives an hour each way for these, passing by other donut shops along the way. They are delicious, fresh and totally worth the drive. You won?t regret it.

My family visits Stowe at least once a year and North Country Donuts has become a regular stop over the past several years. Some of the best donuts we have ever had. Always enjoy trying their weekly specials (it?s truly hard to go wrong), but my absolute favorites are the apple fritter and maple glazed donut! Love the donut holes as well.

The Boston cream had a flake of chocolate on it whilst charging almost 5$. The old owners would at least hook up plenty of chocolate. Recipes seem skimpier than before, I won't be going back

These donuts are very dense, chewy and somewhat gummy. The filled donuts were fried too long, almost burnt. We got a lot of different ones to try since we are just here visiting but none we would come back for. These are disappointing and pricey for all the good reviews!

My wife and I were blown away by the wedding cake Nicole created for us. Not only was the cake stunningly beautiful, with great care given to minor design details, but we were told by many guests that it was the best cake they had ever eaten. Because it was a winter wedding, we chose the Gingerbread Ale flavored cake, with a buttercream frosting. It was amazing- so much so that my wife and I ended up eating the cake top, which we had originally saved per wedding tradition! Nicole was a pleasure to work with

They have a smallish rotating selection every week - a variety of frosted, filled, cake, etc. Going early (when they open) or placing an order online when it opens in the morning are a must. Their staple donuts are absolutely incredible - Maple glazed and apple fritter are my go tos!

I'd give 10 stars if I could. Only the most amazing donuts I've ever had made by the sweetest people. I LITERALLY love North Country Donuts. And the staff make me smile every time I go in. They are thoughtful, kind, hard working people. Online ordering is easy to navigate, as is ordering in house if I have the time. They sell out fast but FOR GOOD REASON. If you love donuts or even just enjoy them from time to time I urge you to RUN (don't walk) to NCD anytime you are within at least an hour radius of its lovely VT location. These donuts were amazing and in my top 3 in the country. We had 4 different types and I wish I lived closer to have them more frequently (but my hips don't)!. The yeast donuts are perfectly melt in your mouth and the frosting and fillings were amazing taste and quality. We will be back. Thank you for making such amazing donuts!

Best donuts on the planet!!!! Awesome owners and I love that the selection changes weekly. I grew up on "Berliner Ballen" in Germany and these are even better than the ones I remember growing up with. Well worth the drive, particularly on "Ricotta Donut" day or whenever Nicole creates the scrumptious maple/bacon donuts. Or Creme Brulee. Or on really any day they're open. :-) Staff is super nice as well. If these donuts and the crew don't put a smile on your face, then you're probably beyond help.

We travel here on the weekends to pick up the most delicious donuts in the area. They have fresh and mostly local ingredients. The jelly filled donuts are so delicious. Our family favorite is the apple fritters and the maple glazed donut holes. We can never just order a few we usually order a dozen that?s how good they are! We can?t wait to go back soon.

we wished we enjoyed the donuts by there were really greasy and dense. The outside of this shop is really a bummer, for any business....def for a donut shop. Your first impression is that they don't care about a full experience - at all. Dead plants, weeds almost a foot tall, dirty chipped paint, dirty and cloudy windows - its one of the least welcoming places I can think of. It wouldn't take much effort to address this - unless you didn't care and that's where I thin they are. Sad :(

Nicole made us the most gorgeous cake for our wedding! Even better, it was delicious. We wanted a cake / flavor that was not offered on her standard offerings menu and she went above and beyond to accommodate our vision. These are the most delicious donuts. They remind of bakery donuts from Brooklyn NY. They are pricey but so big, filling and delicious it is absolutely worth it. Well I love the donuts, but sometimes they run out of what I want less than 15 minutes after online orders start and way before the store opens. It beyond ridiculous

Bought 2 dozen donuts for Easter Sunday, and my god were they a hit. Everybody loved them and asked where I had gotten them. Nicole and her team at North Country Cakes made us the most beautiful wedding cake I have ever seen, AND it tasted better than any cake I have ever had! If you are considering NCC for your wedding cake, please just go for it because I cannot recommend them enough. I thought that we would have to have a wedding cake that would spend half the day in the fridge and would be covered in a thick layer of fondant to keep it structurally sound (not something I wanted at all!) because our wedding was in the Summer.

Vermont is oddly a donut black hole - with a lack of high quality, innovative donut varieties I will frequently drive as far as Maine or Boston for a true fix of fried deliciousness. Luckily for all of us locals, North Country satisfies on all levels with a plethora of rotating creations that all hit the mark, whether you're into chocolate, fruit, cream or something truly oddball like meat (maple bacon should be a defacto donut everywhere, let's be honest).

The wedding cake that Nicole created for our wedding far exceeded our expectations. Our guests continually approached us to discuss the cake describing it as the best cake they have ever tasted. We had a stellar experience from the start to the end of the process. We plan to order another small cake for ourselves because our guests consumed the top tier. I bought a variety of donuts for a weekend in Stowe with friends. I had some gluten free cider donuts and other varieties. They were delicious and a huge hit with the group! I would definitely recommend them!

Honestly, I love this place! The menu changes every week, and they are always coming up with amazing donut flavors! They do have some comeback favorites that will rotate into the menu about once a month.

I would give this bakery no stars if I could. Horrible bakery, muffins were gross and the croissants were dry and disgusting. Flourless cakes were not what we expected, but just a glob of dark chocolate formed into cup cakes. Cinnamon buns although large were tasteless. Bread was not good at all. No prices on anything . Will definitely not visit again.

Our hazelnut doberge cake was one of the highlights of our wedding! Nicole did such a beautiful job that some of our guest questioned if it was a real cake. The design exceeded our expectations! Tasted even better than the sample. Highly recommended!
