Spent $35 on raw donuts and week old tasting coffee. We tried this place despite the reviews as we don?t mind paying more for quality. Well?we paid more but didn?t get that quality and the ordering was comical. It went like this: Me: I?d like a blueberry donut please Them: we don?t have blueberry Me: ok, how about chocolate hazelnut Them: nope, don?t have that. We only have Chai seasonal My Husband: I?d like a sausage and cheese kolache Then: we?re out Me: a latte with almond milk please Them: no almond
This place has some of the most delicious coffee I've tasted in Waco, maybe even in all of TX! ??? The coffee was amazing, with such a special aroma ? I savored every sip! I'll definitely be back. ?? The donut was special, but a little too sweet for me... maybe I'll try a diet version next time. Overall, this place deserves a visit! ????? #Coffee #Waco #Texas #Donut #Cafe #Treat #FiveStars
I recently returned to Waco after six months and headed to Nightlight Donuts & Coffee to satisfy my donut craving. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Nightlight used to have the best donuts in Waco, but that is no longer the case. The service was awful, with two workers showing no urgency. In the photo, you can see one guy waiting for the rest of his order, while another customer who ordered after me received his order first, even though both orders came from the same rack. The donuts are ove
I own a small business and it's literally not that hard to update your store hours on Google and Facebook. Really disappointed. We've been trying to get donuts here for a while. They are FANTASTIC. But we can't seem to catch y'all when you're open.
Omg!!!! This place was/is fantastic. I will ALWAYS stop in here and grab some of their donuts which are all made out of croissant dough!!! The staff was so sweet and had the best recommendations. We orders coffee and a plethora of goodies. The blueberry was so freaking good as well as the regular glazed. To be honest you couldn?t go wrong ordering any of them. The atmosphere is really nice and laid back. Plenty of seating. They sell merchandise as well. If you are any where near this place stop in you
It may be my fault I went an hour before closing, but the only fresh donut was the original. Just tell me that it?s the only fresh one and I will just buy more of those. Cool idea, the croissant donut, but only when fresh. Don?t get the hot chocolate either, was grainy and not a good chocolate.
Tried to give this place multiple chances, but I?m done. I went through the drive-thru and received donuts that were clearly made at least a day earlier?flattened, cold, and obviously pulled from refrigeration. For the premium price point, that?s unacceptable. This wasn?t the first time it happened, either. I even tried contacting the owner/manager through their website twice, but never received a response. Disappointing across the board.
This place use to have such good donuts, easy on the eyes and taste buds. Now the taste is still good as long as you don't mind mangled looking donuts and a slight attitude for asking for your entire order.
This place won 2 awards, the first award is for the best donut I?ve ever eaten! This donut was amazing and I wish I had gotten more. The second award is for the worst coffee I?ve ever had in my entire life??I got an iced latte with vanilla syrup and half and half and it tasted like they just gave me a cup of half and half with a drop of coffee in it, and considering the price of the coffee isn?t cheap it was definitely a waste of time and a frustrating experience.
The best donut shop in town! Without a doubt these donuts are the richest, most flavorful, best tasting donuts I have ever had in my life! It was no wonder they were so busy here! The donuts are air fried and it makes them extremely satisfying to eat, flaky, warm, gooey. The texture is amazing!! And unlike other local corporate donut shops they don't skimp on the glaze. I will say these are more expensive than usual donuts, but they're as delicious as the best bakery pastries! Despite the cost I will be com
This was my first time at Nightlight Donut Cafe and I ordered the original and chocolate glazed donuts with a house coffee. The donut was pricey but the flavors were undeniably good. My donuts had a croissant texture and I was still very pleased. If you like donuts stop by and indulge a little. The young lady Ms. Stephanie was pleasant and gave great customer service. I will come back.
Very disappointed overall. My donuts were not fresh and were not replaced. I was told we are struggling right now. I threw them in the trash. Definitely will not be returning. Terrible experience and you wonder why you?re struggling!!
Wow! My son took me by here today. Truthfully, I was not expecting the level of wonderful that these donuts really are. I would describe them as ?artisanal? made and they are almost a work of art. They are a bit pricey, but are worth it when trying to get a nice break from the norm. Give them a try, and try and get there before 11am, so you can indulge in a croissant-kolach.
I buy a half dozen and the girl at the window charge me $20.50 but my brother told me the price in the advertisement says $15. And it was 8:30am and they out of some flavor donuts. :( i love the flavor and texture of the donuts just the customer service isn't good. .
We've been trying to reach this location by the phone number they have listed on Google for 2 weeks. We were going to place a large order that had to take our business somewhere else because they do not pick up the phone. Perhaps the phone number needs to be updated. I'm not sure why a business would not answer the phone so many times. It would also be wonderful if you could start listing your seasonal items at least on your Facebook page if not on Google for your website. Now that I'm reading all the other
Went by today at 11:45 AM and they were completely out of donuts. This was my third attempt. The first two attempts they had one type of donut available. Today they had two total employees and zero donuts available. It looks like the subpar product continues after the new ownership takes over
Tried Nightlight for the first time and YUM!! The employee that took our order was very friendly and helpful, and she made excellent suggestions. We liked them all but our favorite donut was the chocolate hazelnut flavored. We will absolutely be back for more!
Beignet donuts would sell everywhere like New York City, Phoenix, Seattle and I so wishe we could take them with us when we move- B E S T donuts ever! Light & airy and tasty to the last finger-licking second!
I asked for a lemonade, and they were out. I told the lady who was helping me that I can't drink anything with caffeine, and she suggests I get an iced tea. Can someone please explain to her that tea has CAFFEINE IN IT!
I had a manager buy donuts for a birthday back in March. They were super delicious they had a good variety of flavors. I came back today and the staff looked annoyed. They had only two flavors left. I?m confused on the hours of the establishment. It doesn?t not make sense to open til 10pm if you?re not going to be making more donuts and be pretty much sold out of everything by 4pm.
Our son 21st birthday today???? He asked for Nightlight Donuts for breakfast.?? ? Nightlight Donuts and orange juice was his order. He said mom and dad the donuts here are delicious. Yes, we're blessed to spend our morning here with you eating donuts for breakfast. Great customer service too ?????
Brfst Tea and americano drink was waaayyy tooo hot! Couldn't hear the cashier guy, he talked too low. Powdered croissant donut was hard and over cooked. Price was ridiculous. Donut holes were huge and nothing what i was expecting. Waste of time gas and money.
Do not plan on coming back. Told them it was our first time in? asked what was good to try? they just stared at us. Maybe if we were greeted and the workers looked or acted as if they wanted to be at work, but nope. Donuts and knots were good but ordered coffee and that?s a different story. Wanted it sweetened. Asked did they have creamer for sweetness, I got half and half milk.
The pinwheel is literally one of the best things I have eaten in my entire life. Just perfect, I can't even explain how good it is, perfect texture, the mouth feels is sending me, I love it. I almost left work to get more cause I couldn't stop thinking about it, good for any time of day, bro, seriously, get one. You need to experience this. Also, their coffee is above grade, 100%. I traveled to Waco for work, but if I ever come back or travel through, I will be here EVERYDAY.
Update: Nightlight only gets better... Now a flakey buttery tender #brisketkolache added to the menu. To create the perfect lunch add one of their amazing #lemonaids to your order. I'm hooked for life. The price only reflects the quality and is worth every penny. Original Review: You will never again have a traditional donut after having these croissant donuts. I became addicted after a coworker brought in the chocolate covered donut holes. I now am going through the list of flavors and haven't found one I
Donuts have converted me into a flat earther! Coffee and service were amazing. But donut made me consider things that I?ve done wrong in my past.
Went on 01-12-25 at 1:30pm and the service was horrible. They were out of ice tea and lemonade and the worker just sat down and watched her phone. I'm sure they have ingredients to make it but she was to lazy to do it. I will never go back to this place again. And I wasn't going to rate it but that's not an option it doesn't even deserve one star.
Nightlight has wonderful donuts (although somewhat inconsistent... somedays they are delicious and fresh, and other times the pastry is tough and I can tell it was not baked recently), and I love that they are so different than regular donuts. However, I have to share my disappointment in the kolaches. I was so excited when I heard Nightlight would offer a savory option, especially because it would incorporate meat from a local BBQ restaurant. However, after paying $11 for two brisket kolaches this morning,
They are absolutely delicious. A bit pricey but te are not regular donut, they are Croissant. Delicious
Pros: friendly. Clean. Cons: definitely over hyped. Paying 5 dollars for 2 donuts I expected something good. These were under whelming and very disappointing.
Great service, excellent cronuts, meaty kolaches, and dang good chai lattes. Satisfying in so many ways! Don't be fooled by their small size, one kolache is filling enough, though there's always room for cronuts ??
Ok...here's my thing...these donuts are great. They taste great, they look great, the staff is great, the coffee is great, but the price is startling. A dozen donuts is THIRTY DOLLARS and if you just want one that'll set you back a little over $3 with tax. I just don't know if they are worth the price...
Waited at the window over 7 minutes while the employee texted away without acknowledging me. 2 donuts and 1 kolache was $17. They were NOT fresh and the kolache bread was so hard from being old. Will not go back. Breakfast went in the trash.
Atmosphere was nice cashier was nice I bought 2 donuts, 1 kolache, and 1 Cold brew coffe (should have been ice coffee due to how much they put in it) donuts were good kolache was meh. Coffee was a let down. They have a point system if you?re local to save some $$$ but overall this place is expensive for a quick breakfast. Personally this wouldn?t be a go to for me. For the items I bought it was 15$ ??
Nightlight used to be amazing but not anymore. Since it sold the quality of everything has really gone downhill. You used to get your donuts fresh and warm. Now, they are cold and stale, but still way more expensive than anything else in town. It?s not worth it! I just got my money back and left.
Half of the knots in our order were under cooked and the centers were pretty much raw.
Three donuts and two plain coffees...$18. Customer service was horrid. Donuts are more like round croissants...not at all like a normal donut. I guess they just wanna be different, but nice try. It could easily be a success in California, but not here. Just plain gross.
I'm tired of playing croissant lottery. For the past 2-3 years, it's been a giant gamble on whether or not their croissants are available. Long before the store front was open, my now wife and I used to love eating Nightlight's croissants and donuts from the farmers market and outside of True Love . However, since opening the store front, the quality of both the croissants and the donuts has begun to decline. Recently, the care for keeping the croissants, the food that sparked my initial love for Nightlight
Great donuts, but always a disappointment to show up and they will most likely be out of most of their supply, even in the morning. We used to come all the time, but now they are usually out when we come. Would love to come support them more if they consistently had donuts!
I?ve been a huge fan of Nightlight since their trucks came to the Baylor campus. I was very excited to visit the new storefront with my sister when she flew in from out of town, but at 11am on a weekday, they were out of glazed, cinnamon, and chocolate donuts for the day. How can you be open for another 12 hours with only donut holes? Our $5 donut holes were stale. I could justify the prices by making Nightlight an occasional treat, but now I?m not sure it?s worth the trip. 1/10 don?t recommend. Edit: the
I never leave reviews ever, and I wasn?t even going to despite the terrible customer service during my visit. The reason I?m leaving this review is because the actual drink (Chai) tastes like garbage. Be aware coming to this place, nothing redeeming about it except the cool sign out front.
My first time trying Nighlight! I ordered their flavor of the month donut, which was pina colada! Pina colada tasted like a glazed donut and the center had the explosion of pineapple! I also ordered their donut holes in a bag. The donut holes were bigger than I expected. Each bite of the flaky donut was delicious ??
Super good donuts and the coffee is delicious too! I would recommend the cinnamon sugar donut holes and iced mocha! The atmosphere is very chill and relaxing.
So these are cronuts (croissant-doughnut). They are tasty for sure. If you?re thinking it?s a regular donut experience then you?ll be surprised to see the price at $3 per donut. But remember it?s a cronut, which does yield a bigger price tag. If you want a quality pastry then the price doesn?t really surprise you. If you?re wanting a dozen cronuts to take to the office, these will be a treat; but at $30 a dozen I wouldn?t think it?s an every Monday affair. Wish these guys the best of luck, hoping Waco
To paraphrase Barney from "The Simpsons": "Three dollars for a donut? This better be the best donut ever ...(eat) ... you got lucky." You'll never go back to non-croissant-based donuts.
the staff literally stared at me and my family and were really unwelcoming. also 0/10 on the chai latte, super watered down and gross. do better because this experience was all around awful ??
Best donuts I?ve had anywhere. They are unique; slight crunch outside and soft inside. Extremely tasty. Their coffee is great! Made fresh all day. Highly recommend!
BEST donuts ever! Yesenia was the sweetest young lady. She was very helpful when explaining the menu choices. We made a 2nd visit because of her.
The donuts taste pretty good. And people were friendly. However, how are y?all going to be called nightlight and not be open at night? Main reason I took a star off, I know it?s more out of pettiness but in my opinion false advertisement.
If you?re going to close at 3 p.m., it?d probably be a good idea to have things in stock by then, wouldn?t it? I came in at noon and the lady in front of me was asking for anything savory, and y?all were all out. I came in to try a new donut y?all have advertised on your socials, and you were also all out! I?d understand if it was 2 p.m. and close to closing time, but this is a bit unacceptable as a business. Your workers were also inattentive and seem like they don?t care. They didn?t ask us if we were doi
I've never had a croissant donut (or kolache) before, but holy cow! They are amazing and I'm officially obsessed! We got the sea salt caramel donut, the blueberry donut, and a turkey/pepper jack kolache. Everything is made with a croissant base and it is all delicious! We also got two iced vanilla lattes and they were perfect! The coffee is delicious and has a lot of depth and flavor, so good! The vibe is on point in this shop! So relaxing and welcoming. The young man working the front counter was helpful
Love these croissant donuts! Definitely will visit again when we come to Waco. A must try for a real treat.
The donuts were reheated from probably 2 days prior and were likely the worse donut I've ever eaten. The coffee was far worse! Did not end up drinking the coffee and had to pour it out.
Donuts and coffee are really tasty. The glazed sprinkle is divine. They are croissant donuts, so they will likely taste different than what you expect! My go-to is an iced vanilla oat milk latte, would recommend. It's very clean, and the staff are super friendly. Usually the lines aren't bad at all, it's a quick and efficient service. Their prices are higher than other donuts in town, just know that before you go!
Just no. I paid $3.50/Donut and they were not great. For that price, it should have been amazing. It wasn?t fresh, and was not worth the 300% price increase compared to Shipleys. Cool place, nice staff but terrible business model. Just my opinion though. If you love spending high amounts of money on inferior products, then hey you might like this place. EDIT: I appreciate the kind and inquisitive response. In my opinion, the price would be validated if the donut was made fresh to order. Just being complete
Nightlight Donuts and Coffee is absolutely great! I would definitely say please stop by and try. I have always been a die hard Shipley's fan but since my co-worker introduced me to Nightlight, they are my new favorite donut shop. I got gift certificates to there for Christmas because everyone knows how much I love this place. I love how they have specialty donuts and if you haven't tried the banana pudding donut, you better hurry and try before they're gone!
Got there at 10 am on a Saturday, what a mess. First we were told that half of the inventory was gone for the morning. So we picked what we could. After waiting for 15 minutes while watching 3 people mill around the back not knowing what to do, I finally asked about my order. I was told they had NO donuts at all. After reminding them that I already paid, they asked my name and then told me they didn't know what to do, as the 6 donuts they had left, period, weren't the exact 6 that I ordered. I was als
Pricey for one... after my 3rd attempt here... no more. Why would anyone want to pay twice the price for donuts that taste like 3 days old donuts. I actually would rather eat 3 day old donuts from the grocery store or gas station before getting anything here.
Always out of donuts. The last 3 times we?ve tried to go (all before 10am?) they are out of donut holes. The exact same thing happened to a friend earlier in the week. I don?t get it, and unfortunately don?t plan on going back at this point. Loved their donuts whenever they actually had some to sell!
We went to try this new donut place, always seen it driving around but decided to try it out today. first thing we noticed is, the prices. WAY too overpriced just for pastries. a dozen for 30? i can get a couple boxes of dozen donuts for that price somewhere else. so we settled for half a dozen, and was so disappointed when i opened the box. they weren?t fresh as if they?d been sitting around for hours or all day. they looked awful and aren?t even real donuts. they?re just circular croissants with icing on
Super friendly staff, overall jovial shoppe. A bit on the pricey side, however.
I can't say enough positive things about my experiences here. They're not always perfect, but have gone beyond what most places would do when there's any issues, which has been maybe twice. The rotating monthly donuts are great too! I enjoy the extra options as their regular menu is pretty simplistic.
Nightlight donuts has the potential to be great, but their product is inconsistent & their customer service is lacking. Their original food truck product was very consistent. However, since they?ve opened their storefront, the donuts have become very inconsistent. If I go late at night, I can tell I?m getting donuts that are hours old. They?re noticeably different than if I go early in the morning. It?s disappointing because their business is branded (and it?s in the name) for their late night donuts. It?s
I don?t really like donuts anyway, so this review is more about the coffee? they used to have such good coffee and now whatever blend they switched to is bad. Whatever blend they picked from the roasters should be changed.
The donuts are delicious, but there are no choices for people with food intolerances at all (gluten free, vegan, etc.). It would be nice to have at least 1 possible donut to eat.
We heard raving reviews from friends so we tried it out tonight. We ordered 4 donuts, a sweet tea, and a lemonade. I knew from others it was a little more pricey so the money didn?t surprise me, but I was expecting the donuts to wow me more and they didn?t. They were good, don?t get me wrong, but for that price I was expecting more. I did enjoy the sweet tea and lemonade. It was different but not in a bad way. I also enjoyed the reusable cup that they put the drinks in.
I had the donut holes and regular glazed donut and wow I am impressed! Its not the typical donut shops because their donuts are crispy and the batter and taste are amazing! Melts in your mouth deliciousness and my favorite preferred donut shop! I recommend to others who wants to try a new spin to the typical donut.
Im glad I tried it! I got a cappuccino and a glazed and chocolate donut to share with my partner. The donuts were good as was the coffee. It's more of a croissant-ish and had a great flavor. For the price, I believe the donuts could be bigger. I couldn't hear the cashier because the poor guy was mumbling. But the place was clean, chic and we'll branded. Definitely a nice place to sit and enjoy.
The atmosphere of this establishment was nice. The design is modern and comfy. Yet, the floors had not been swept and the tables were not wiped off. There were donut crumbs visibly on the floors and tables. I ordered two donuts. One of them had a long strand of hair. The gentleman apologized, fetched another of the same kind, then when I started to pull the second donut out of the bag there was another hair at the bottom of the donut. I did not feel like getting up to get another because at this point I al
Nice staff, but the food was not good. They did not have any donuts when I went, so I opted for holes instead. The original glaze tasted like strawberry cake. There was an insane amount of cinnamon and sugar on the holes that you had to drink after each bite. The holes are actually giant knots. If you?re looking for a classic donut, this is not the place.
Nightlight has some of the best croissant donuts (cronuts, if you prefer that word) I've gotten the pleasure to try. Theyre soft, and not overly sweet. I prefer croissant donuts, as they're a lighter option than the common cake donuts. I love that there are seasonal flavors, alongside a very solid permanent menu. The coffee is strong, but not too bitter with some nice add-in options. Not to mention, it goes very nicely with the donuts!
A good donut, crispy croissant texture, sticky sweet glaze. I went on the first Saturday morning and lines were long in the drive thru and in the store. The staff was efficient and polite. The donut might have been better warm. At $30 per dozen, I wanted it to be amazing; it really wasn't. I think I'll try them again after they've been open for a while.
They were out of donuts the last 3 times we have gone there. Once was on a Saturday at 9:00 am. They also started closing early without adjusting their hours. They finally adjusted their hours on google last week, but their website still shows old hours. For a place that has good donuts and everything else, it?s hard to see it run poorly.
$3.25 each/$16.00 for 6/$32.00 for Dozen. This is very bold pricing. You would expect a gourmet donut created individually, curated and conceived by an all star chef. That's not exactly the case. They are just extremely over priced donuts. You are paying for the experience of being seen in a hipster location with improperly brewed coffee. Do not get me wrong, the brand of coffee they use is excellent, it is just not executed correctly here. Don't worry though... you look good walking out when you are carryi
Flavor and selection is definitely a 5-star! Gave 4 stars because of cost. I know their costs are higher because of better quality ingredients but paying double for donuts will keep Nighlight as an occasional treat rather than our go-to. Love what they are doing and will definitely be back!
Today was their soft opening and they were already on a roll, with two open lanes for the drive-thru. Their donuts are a whole new experience, and very yummy along with their coffee blend. Definitely recommend giving them a try, I'm glad there is a new local donut shop in Waco!
Nice locally-owned doughnut shop that's open into the night. The croissant-donuts are tasty, but do cost more than standard donuts. I've only had one thing from their coffee bar, but it was good. The online ordering seemed to work well too, which isn't always the case with local places.
This is the second time I've given this place a try. I've been severely underwhelmed both times, unfortunately. Today I tried the Salted Caramel donut which is normally a flavor combination I absolutely adore. This donut essentially just tastes like chocolate. I didn't get anything close to salt or caramel. My 10 year old had the chocolate donut with sprinkles and he enjoyed it. But let's face it, I could have paid half as much and been twice as happy.
Great experience! I've had my fair share of donuts but never tasted anything quite like this. On top of that, staff was incredibly friendly and coffee was fantastic. Definitely a must stop for anyone looking to treat themselves!! Will definitely be back.
Delicious cronuts, but I don't like that they now close so early. Why be called Nightlight? They used to be the only place to get a yummy doughnut treat after 2 P.M. Now they are like all the other places. : (
I just don?t understand how they are so good, every single time. We?re new to Waco, I?ve taken my kids 3 times in the last 6 weeks? these things have been unbeatable for freshness & quality imo. We?ll be back? I?m on my way there for a daddy-daughter date this morning. Btw, the service team/staff have been friendly & helpful very time. From one businesses owner to another, well done Nightlight leadership!
A different take that elevates a normal donut to a great tasting experience. Friendly people too which is great for customer service. The loyalty program is awesome as I had 2 bags of donut holes which is 10 huge donut holes and 2 fruity pebble donuts for 9$.
I'm not what you would call a donut croissant connoisseur but this place isn't your Dunkin Donuts so you are going to pay a lot more so you are going to expect more. Well, here, you get it. So tasty and yummy. The coffee was super hot and with that freshly made taste as well. A great selection of donut croissant favors. The stop to satisfy you sweet needs tooth!
This was the second time I've come to this location because it is right up the street from the hotel I stay at in Waco when working. Unfortunately the espresso machine machine was down for the second time, meaning they are nothing but a donut shop who happens to have a broken espresso machine. They are not a coffee shop.... So if you're just wanting some donuts sure go ahead and then you can go by the gas station next door and get a gas station coffee. There are plenty of other actual coffee shops in the ar
I will no longer be visiting night light donuts I attempt to order on line and over the phone no response. When I get there to order 6 dozens of donuts I was refused. The representative advised me that I needed to order on line, I explained that I attempted to do both on line and over the phone, after showing my attempts all I received was oh you sure did but we had malfunction with our services. So I explained that wasn?t my fault. Still no empathy, I explained that I was trying to bring their business to
The original croissant doughnut was great but was it worth $3? In my honest opinion No, it?s just the size of a regular doughnut you get anywhere else. I also ordered a iced latte. I didn?t like the flavor at all, and definitely not for $4. Unless they lower the prices I will not return. Other than the prices the staff was great, and the place was very clean. I?d have to rate this as a 4.5 out of 10. I?d only recommend to a few people but I?d be sure to tell them about the price issue.
For $5, I started with a mixed bag of donut holes. It?s a great sampler if you?ve never been there. Chocolate is my fave, and the texture of these is perfect with coffee! So happy these energetic entrepreneurs opened here! I lift my coffee cup! Hear, Hear!
Assorted dozen...2 glazed, 2 glazed sprinkles, 2 chocolate glazed sprinkles, 2 blueberry, 2 toasted coconut almond, 1 chocolate hazelnut, 1 key lime...delicious donuts for sure! The price point is a bit high hence only 4 stars. Not something I'll get often because if it.
