Neighbor's Donuts

Neighbor's Donuts

Reviews Summary

Most reviews praise the donuts for being fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced, with many highlighting the friendly service and good coffee. Several long-time customers appreciate the shop's consistency over years. However, some criticize inconsistent hours, outdated decor, and occasional poor service. While many rate it highly (4-5 stars), others note issues like cleanliness, limited selection, or overpricing, particularly for less fresh items. The shop is seen as a reliable neighborhood spot but has room for improvement in customer experience and operational consistency.

Customer Reviews

Very disappointing that hours advertised online are incorrect and none are posted at the actual business. Online says they open at 5:30am but I went at 6:40am and they were closed.

Best croissants in the Bay Area. It is so hard to find a proper croissant they do the phyllo dough correct they are fresh and the rest of the donuts are good too. Bring cash they take cards but cash is easier for them (cheaper) and cheaper for you.

Amazing donuts! However I?ve been trying to go before work at about and they are closed ): although it say they are open super early. Other than that I?ve been going for years love them!

Real nice and friendly lady. But her donuts are limited. She doesn't sell ham and cheese nor bagels what kind of shop doesn't sell these items also they don't have French donuts. The donuts are good the coffee is fresh plus if you like hot dogs they sell hot dogs lol ??. But I do like their donuts still so I come here when I'm out in Oakland high street. It's right off high street exit off 580 small parking lot. I would've gave it a 5 star but it's missing things. Remember if you sell it and display it peop

That's a great donut. She has been doing this business for more than 25 years. It's very hard to pass this donut store and NOT buy some.

Our go-to Donut place. Great service (the owner is always friendly), reasonable prices for a dozen donuts ($14), variety of coffee's to choose from, daily newspaper available, TV's and seating up to 20 people. Although she only takes CASH, there is an ATM available (but you will be charged $3 for withdrawals), so bring some cash, or that same dozen will cost $17....OUCH!!

This is a donut shop that has been in my family for years. We always went as a family every Saturday. All 7 of us. My father and I made it a morning routine before school. I love getting them fresh out of the oven super early in the morning. They always have the friendliest service. As if you are an old friend. And the freshest donuts and coffee. You need to try it out if you haven't.

Don't go there anymore.......... owner's disposition leaves a little to be desired never have seen her smile. Nothing wrong with being serious and all business but she just appears stressed usually. Also when walking my dogs in that area and I may get hungry there's not a good place out front to tie them up and she refused to allow me to bring them in for a second while leashed. Of course they serve food and drink so that's understandable; however she could have offered to bring me the items outside as I pa

Some days the donuts are good other days not so much. I have seen flies buzzing around the donuts. The apple fritters they sell are store bought, but taste good. Nice people that work here.

Not as nice and brand new looking as the big chain doughnut shops that are around now. But, the donuts are light, fluffy and definitely taste better!

They have some of the best donuts in the area including Pinole. They still require a mask as of March 10 2022 and that's a good policy. I'm a semi retired medical professional . I have seen peer reviewed data that proves Covid-19 can survive on the skin for 193 hours.. This is the only donut shop I currently use because they require mask.

Disappointing to say the least. I bought an old fashion chocolate donut for a $1.10; Really guys? Needing the little boost of energy I obliged. Keep in mind these weren't fresh donuts so i do think they sould have any afternoon discount, just my opinion. Also, its not the most modern of places, it could use a sprouse.

Great Doughnuts ??. Great Service

Great selection and yummy!

The donuts are really good and they have good customer service

The people tell you that a donut is filled with cream and then you eat it and the donut was never filled. The owner hangs put in there and doesnt seem to care if the employees take advantage of customers. Also, when serving the donuts a service person talks a lot and spits on food while putting the food into bags to sell ...gross

This is an excellent neighborhood business..ownership always greets my mum personally and thoughtfully... and yum donuts

Solidly mediocre donuts. The selection is usually poor as well. They do seem to be a neighborhood destination but if you aren't a regular the service is nothing special. The d?cor feels sad and dated.

Went there this morning to get a coffee ?nd ended up getting sprinkle doughnut too. ??The lady was very nice and coffee was good.

its cool donuts shop 24hrs open nice costumer service but its a point of reunion for a lot people in side and out side the donnas shop and those womans who walk on 23rd st at night, they rest at donnas shop tables also people around day and night

Very friendly service. Responsible prices for fresh doughnuts/pastries and coffee. The have lottery and a ATM.

The El Cerrito Safeway store is what I call a Super store. High quality products high amount of variety very good customer service. Entering the store you feel it's Super store vibes.

The owner is one of the nicest ladies ever! I don't eat donuts often but when i do they are the only place i go to!

Your typical corner doughnut shop, with fresh doughnuts and decent coffee. No frills. Nice people. Mask up!

Convenient for the laundromat. Nice to get a snack. Ok donut and hot drinks but very good service from hardworking staff

had the nerve to talk about me on my way out of the shop, yet you expect people to come back. good luck staying open during the pandemic????.

Very rude woman behind the counter. I believe she is the owner. Donuts are ok at best.

Do not trust the google hours, they always say they close at 7pm but it?s been three more than 3 times I pass before 5pm and they?re always closed with the girl in there always ignoring the customers

Customer service could be better.

The lady who helped me was rude, and I felt rushed while trying to decide what I wanted.

Doughnuts are awesome, but espresso machine was out of order, only coffee ?
