Mr Bob's Do-Nuts

So I've lived in Marion for over a year now. I've driven and walked passed Mr. Bob's Donuts numerous times. I finally had the chance to walk in. Damnit I'm so mad at myself right now. So I caught them after a big rush so they were running low. But that Maple donut was delicious. If you're in Marion and craving a sweet treat, make your way here and get you some.

Everywhere I travel I try donuts. These donuts are some of the best I?ve ever had. They?re always super fresh and delicious. These Do-Nuts make me go nuts!! I love this family owned business.

I?m not sure why the hate in some of the reviews. It?s possible they don?t understand that this is a small family owned shop where selections and quantities are balanced against eeking out a profit and keeping waste to a minimum. I have never had a bad experience or donut at Mr. Bob?s. They?ve always been above & beyond friendly and their donuts are absolutely delicious. While I guess that sowing negativity in the world is what makes some people happy?a Bavarian Cream from Mr. Bob?s is what makes me happy.

Literally the best donuts we have ever had. We have been fans since the Old Fort location. We were first in line when they reopened in Marion last year. I can't say enough good things. My favorite is the maple crunch.

I love this place; I love that it closes once they sell out of donuts. I can't recall all the donuts, but I was impressed. They were 10X better than most hipster places in major cities, down to earth vibe, and have a good variety of types of donuts, old fashion to playful combos.

Other than the donuts there's nothing really to look at. But that does not matter at all! These are works of art and are the best pastries I've ever had. Will visit Mr Bob every time I come to Marion from now on. Highly recommend, but get there early, they sell out fast.

Y?all. These are some good donuts. We randomly found this on a google list when driving through Marion and we?re so glad we stopped. The girl working inside was so nice and personable. She mentioned she went to culinary school for baking and was bringing in some new pastries and flavor combos. We had two of the specials. A blueberry donut cake and a peaches and cream donut. He couldn?t stop talking about ?the best donut he?s ever had?. Highly recommend!

Really good glazed donuts and the maple toffee donuts are delicious. Fast and friendly service.

Mr. Bob's Donuts was fantastic. We tried the peanut butter filled with chocolate drizzle, strawberry filled, lemon filled and chocolate glazed. They were truly divine. The filling was perfect on each one, especially the peanut butter and strawberry. I also tried their coffee. It did not disappoint! I hate that I don't live closer, but then again probably a good thing :)

Best donuts i have ever tasted in my life so i am 61 so thats got to tell you something. The cream filled are my favorites??

I love hole in the walls and this one did not disappoint! I'm going to give them 5 stars because there donuts rock! I have never (I try to find places everywhere I go) had a raspberry filled that was so good I wished I had bought more.

A limited selection of donuts BUT, the ones that they had were very good. This is a better way to consume calories then any chain donut shop.

Really cute little donut shop! We stopped by on our way out of town. Customer service was terrific!! All the donuts looked fresh and delicious!! We got an apple ugly, a blueberry, and a cream cheese. They were sooooo good and not greasy! They stuffed the cream cheese with plenty of filling. You definitely have to try this place!!!

The best donuts in North Carolina! I absolutely love the cream cheese filled! Not too sweet and the filling is super smooth and rich! My wife is very fond of the bear claws. Always fresh and tasty, it's a great Saturday morning stop on the way to the mountains!

Wonderful fresh made donuts from this locally owned and operated business. The whole place a few dozen donuts wide that you could miss on main street if you don't look for it. If you love fresh homemade donuts you need to stop! The chocolate iced creamed filled donut was packed with cream and delicious. And of course meet Bob!

You can't go wrong with this place! They've got something for everyone and everything is delicious! Be it their award winning apple uglies, cream horns, coffee or their insane variety of doughnuts, my favorite of which is definitely the peanut butter cream. Best donuts EVER. Anyone who complains about customer service is complaining about things all mom and pop businesses deal with, not really an issue with their customer service. Mr. Bob is the nicest guy. The food is amazing, the price isn't comparable to Krispy kreme, nor should it be. TheSe are handmade from quality ingredients, and HUGE. They are worth the money and then some. I brag on this place all the time.

Get them fast while you can!! Made fresh daily, two locations, and they are featured in different places!! My BF loves the apple ugly while I'm fond of the regular donuts with chocolate glaze. They do a 5k & half marathon every year that supports the community!

Donuts are good, service is NOT! Can't depend on being open, when you have appointments set up with clients at 8 am, went by twice, web site says open at 6 am, called that day to see what time would be open the next day, 7 am, went buy at 7 am, sign in window would open at 8 am with a big smiley face on a piece of paper. Sent email, owner, Mr. Bob I guess, does not CARE. I was told by several clients they are the only place in town, so they don't care.

I love Mr. Bob's Do-Nuts! He takes great pride in creating the ultimate do-nut experience with a variety of fillings (he never skimps). Our out of town family always puts in a request for us to bring them a dozen when we are coming to visit. They have become a family favorite. Try the Cream Cheese filled, delicious but not too sweet, his award winning 'Apple Ugly' or another favorite, the maple crunch topped with toffee!

Either location is terrific, Marion or Old Fort. If you want something special or a huge quantity, get there early or just call ahead. They are a small business and donuts are very perishable so mr. bob could run out of what you want. I love the peanut butter cream donuts and the apple uglies but there are no bad donuts. Old Fort location is very close to I40, easy on and easy off. ??

Definitely a great stop for breakfast. I could see the shop had to be some local favorite so I let the lady pick flavors for me. I wouldn't have picked a lemon donut, but I was glad she did. My only mistake: not asking for a quick warm up before I ate them.

Simply amazing. People come from all over to get these donuts. I would love to describe them but it's something one must experience. What I will say is it is just a little hole-in-the-wall. There are plenty of benches up and down Main Street where you can sit and enjoy them or you can take them home or to your work place. Everyone there will love you for it.

We tried the lemon filled and the apple pie donuts, which were both delicious. The woman working, I think her name was Annie, was very open to chatting with us about our trip and suggested that we drive up to the Linn Cove viaduct. We wouldn't have gone all the way if it weren't for her, and it was breathtaking! Thank you! Next time we're back in Marion, we will have to try the apple ugly!

This place has great donuts but their customer service is aweful. Called at 10:30 in the morning and the aren't taking anymore orders for the day. As a matter of a fact it's this way every single time we go there or call. Definitely need to work on the customer service and being able to run their business. We run our own business and if we turned customers down as much as they do we wouldn't have a business.

The donuts are to DIE for. I would absolutely give this place 5 stars, if it weren't for the owner's business practices and attitude towards customers. He doesn't generally keep enough donuts made to keep the volume of customers he gets served. It's kind of a crapshoot. If you like Krispy Creme or Dunkin Donuts or other mass-produced foods, then don't bother going here. But, if you like old fashioned homemade donuts made daily by a local baker, then this is your spot! Nice little daily selection of about 10-12 donuts.

Thr cream cheese filled doughnuts were amazing! We also tried the peanut butter cream ans coconut cream they were a bit too sweet for us. The customer service is top notch.

I've actually had their donuts at a facility they deliver to. Every time I go into the actual Bob's Do-Nuts, they are almost sold out. Let me tell you, these are some awesome Donuts. Just be sure you get there early.

I have only had their donuts at work and I think they're perfect! I tried to pick some up at the shop but it was closed even though it was their business hours. I was pretty disappointed and sad. Amazing donuts though!

Get there early or call ahead! GREAT doughnuts - so great that they run out every time we make the drive! Recommend calling ahead. They will take orders or pull a dozen if you phone in.

I stayed with my daughter in Marion for a short time and got to experience some of these donuts, all I can say is Delicious... But we moved to Indiana , all I can say is , I wish Mr. BOB shipped, I would definitely place my orders....

I WAS a skeptic and diehard KrispyKreme fan. Now that I have tasted a Mr Bob's, no other do-nut will ever suffice. These are the best do-nots you will EVER eat. They have many regular flavors daily and also added feature flavors like red velvet or chocolate cake. They also have wonderful bagels, pretzels, cream horns and other puff pastries. I'm sure it's better than "ok" but I don't know, as I've been there THREE times before 1 pm and they're not open. I know the hours say close at "4 pm or whenever they run out of donuts" but if you're consistently running out over 3 hours before closing time, maybe you could make a few extra?

Best donuts in eastern NC, period! Also if you want to try one of their famous apple uglies you better phone ahead about an hour because they go FAST!

It use to be real good now the donuts are not as fresh as a use to be. They got a lady running it now. Every time I go up there Mr.Bob not working there. They are losing the taste.

The friendly service is about all that stands out. Their donuts are not bad but not very far above that. Their selection is minimal and really nothing to be excited about.

Not a huge selection like I thought there would be, but what we did get was very good! The kiddos said "best donuts ever" very soft and fresh!

This is the best place for Donuts you can go. Call ahead to make sure you get some they sale out a lot of times and you don't want to miss out.

Went and got a do-nut and it was very good. Nice thick dough, cooked perfectly, and not overly sweet.

Got the last of the donuts during the donut festival. They were worth the wait. I bet they are even better hot and fresh.

Left after 10 minutes of no service after screaming in the back to get them to stop washing dishes. Supposedly open till 5 PM but no service at noon. First and last time.

Average local donuts. They are not open on Sunday. We came at 8am on a Saturday and The donuts + apply ugly tasted like they were day old.
