Monterey Donuts

Kind of a mixed review of this place which is a bit difficult for me to write. We stopped in on Saturday on our way back home. I ordered a few mixed donuts (I chose) and some breakfast items and some drinks from the cooler. The breakfast burrito was good and a decent size for its price. The bagels with cream cheese were delicious ( not a normal store bought bagel). The ham and cheese croissant was mid and wasn?t warmed up even though I said yes when offered. Now the donuts, I failed to receive a few donuts

This is a cute and very busy donut shop. When you walk in, it's a very open and inviting space. I really tried my best not to order the whole store because they have such a delicious variety of donuts. The lady who took my order and helped me was very nice. I ordered: 1. Bacon croissantwich - I loved the layers of the croissant. It was moist and not too messy. It was a perfect balance of egg and cheese. 2. Chicken apple sausage breakfast burrito - perfect balance of egg and sausage. It was simple

Delicious local donuts with well made breakfast sandwiches! Picked up mine to go but the shop was easy to get in and out of and had good parking. The brioche breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese was so tasty! The bacon was perfectly like I like it. My Boston cream donut was so fresh. I would absolutely come back! I'm very satisfied with my food!

Best donuts on the peninsula and it?s not even close. Old fashioned, blueberry cake, matcha cake, red velvet cake, classic sprinkles - they?re ALL so good. They always throw in a couple of donut holes when I order a dozen or half dozen which is a nice touch. This is probably the one indulgence I partake in and it is always worth it.

04-7-2025, Stop by with my baby, I was craving something sweet than I stopped by to Monterey Doughnuts. Fanny was Very attentive, kind , polite with a happy smile. My doughnuts?? were veery delicious ??. I will definitely be going back soon. Great place ??

This place is always amazing everytime we go. Great service and so many options. Donuts are super good and fresh as well as their sandwiches and teas! Definitely recommend coming here.

Great Apple fritter and breakfast burrito. I came at 830am on a Friday and it was busy. It took 10minutes to get my drink and burrito. The matcha latte is a bit too sweet - possibly the same mix as the bubble tea they serve. I was able to work from one of the tables.

It's strange that I've been to Monterey donuts many times and this is the first time I've given them a review. They've relocated next door and have a bigger, nicer environment and the food quality is really great. Very friendly staff and the size of the Cinnamon Rolls are almost the size of the paper plate at my house. They have lots of drinks such as coffee and other various ones too.

I LOVE the fruit green tea with boba. Its amazing. I enjoy the mango and lychee flavor with fresh boba, lychee jelly and mango popping boba. Amazing combination. The donuts always taste fresh and delicious. Service is always friendly and inviting. Today i tried the 831 brunchwich and i loved it. All in all a great place!

I've visited several times now and have not been disapointment. Get there early for the most fresh donuts! Very cheap and very delicious! We got a bacon/egg/cheese bagel sandwich, 4 donuts, and 12 donut holes for about $12.

Wonderful job, kind customer service, soothing morning music, they gave me an extra four hole that was warm and delicious. Solid donut selection, all sizes and types. Definitely coming back!

Stopped for some donuts the other day, and tried a matcha blend drink with green tea instead of milk. I couldn't decide what to get but the lady who helped me suggested the drink I got in the end and even gave me samples of a Mochi Donut they were making. I came back again today and got two pastries and a Oreo blend w/ boba & a Tiger milk tea w/ boba.

Donuts are top-notch as well as the breakfast sandwiches! Service was also great as they were patient while we picked out what we wanted from their large assortment.

I'm pretty serious about my donuts and these were absolutely delicious and worth every calorie and penny! The blueberry twist is amazing. If you like fried food then you know most items (especially donuts) have a very short shelf life. However I came early about 6;00 a.m. and bought several donuts. I had a half of a cake donut left at 5pm and it was just as delicious. The owners are great and give wonderful service!!

If you don?t look at the cardboard cutout of Taylor Swift, she can?t see you back. Anyway their sandwiches are amazing, tea is fantastic, and most of the donuts are too!

While traveling up Hwy 1 , CA, my husband and I decided we wanted something sweet to eat and came across Monterey donuts. The sweet lady in the shop was so personable and after ordering our donuts, she came over with a warmed blueberry filled long john for us to try. Also, tried a delicious icy peach boba drink. As we were leaving, she had packed up a blueberry fritter, wanting us try over the traditional apple. We had our sugar high for the day!

Great morning atmosphere with some of the areas best and brightest reppin! The food is thorough and not greasy. and the smoothies are bomb with lots of options to choose from. Green teas fruit teas you name it they got it.

I usually love the positive vibe the employees spread. However, it seems as of late the newer folks are less interested in being upbeat and positive. I don't know a about you, but I kinda prefer positive people as opposed fo grumpy, uninterested, and stoic ones in the morning when grabbing a bite. Perhaps Reds is a better choice? Just my 2cents on this.

They make great donuts but 4.10 plus tax for a regular chocolate donut is absolutely ridiculous . I think it's around 20 for a dozen why do I have to pay close to double if I'm just buying one or two ? I get that times are tough right now but you can do alittle better than that. I don't know when y'all raises the prices but I know they weren't that much before I think you could do alittle better for those of us who are single people and don't have the need for a dozen donuts

Very unpleasant service on 10/03/24 at 4:30 pm. There was only one person at the register and she was rude. We ordered two drinks and one was made wrong (very wrong). Ordered a ICED passionfruit green tea and she made a passionfruit orange freeze. When we approached her about the incorrect order she was acting as if it was such an inconvenience. Love their donuts here! The freshness and density are perfect. The Apple fritters are the best around! Very fast and friendly and take both cash AND credit card, (with a $5 min purchase). Home of the EXTRA large donut that is a great surprise for any birthday or special occasion. Always have coffee and always seem to throw in a couple of donut holes in every order!

Best pastry donut I have ever had in my life - so soft and flakey it was practically a croissant. Staff was sweet, friendly, and threw in four donut holes and a random donut they just wanted me to try! Will definitely be a new regular.

Recommend don?t ever door dash this place. Never ? We received our 2 dozen fancy and they were plain balls of dough and the ones frosted were packed upside down and smashed. Not sure if we will ever be back. It takes a certain terrible service to actually pack the doughnuts throwing them in frosting down. All stuck to the box and not edible. We ordered here every week but we won?t be anymore. Disappointing that on a busy day they tell their good customers they don?t need them. Point made.

Seriously the best donuts I've ever had, they were perfectly balanced and not dripping with oil. The coffee was also really good, not some cheap robusto bean rot gut like most of these types of places. 10/10 highly recommended

These are the BEST donuts I've ever tasted!!! They are fresh, soft and they are smooth while eating. They also give you a couple of donut holes with your order and OMG!!!! THE BEST! Honestly, they taste like Fruit Loops and it just melts in your mouth! I normally get regular chocolate, chocolate bar with Bulgarian creme, and glaze. Good standard doughnuts. Crullers only available Fri-Sun. Price for dozen increased to $14 for plain and $24 for fancy but half a dozen available for half the price plus a $1 or so more. Free donut holes in each box is a nice surprise.

It's just a small donut shop, but the donuts are the best I've tasted so far! The staff is so nice and helpful and the selection of donuts is great. I live in Castroville, but will definitely make the drive to Monterey whenever I go for donuts again (even if it's just 1!).

Very delicious donuts. I especially like the old fashioned donuts. The prices and selection are very reasonable. The coffee is pretty standard. The service is very fast. If you need your morning donut fix, this is defiantly a place to consider.

Absolutely love this place. Something about the way they deep fry their donuts taste absolutely amazing. By far the best donut place in the area. If Reds is a shorter drive and convenient I recommend saying no and going out of your way to go here.

I take my donuts very seriously and these might be the best, fluffiest donuts I've ever had! Add to that the sweetest owners who let us sample one right out of the oven... Heaven on earth! Next time we're in Monterey, we'll be back!

The donuts are always very fresh and perfect here. They slip an extra donut hole or two in your bag for free. They are helpful and friendly. Love this place and can hardly resist frequent visits??

Very delicious fresh donuts. The yeast donuts are so fluffy. The old fashioned donut was a bit dry. Great prices and selection. Indoor seating available with highchairs.

The food was good and service fast. Got a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a garlic bagel and a cream filled chocolate doughnut. Both were really good and price was standard for this area. They even tossed in some free doughnut holes. I would say I prefer this place to Red's, another local favorite doughnut shop.

Best donuts I have found in town. I always get my Donuts here for our Friday meetings. Donuts always tastes fresh and sometimes they give you a surprise donut hole when you order their Bagel sandwiches.

This place is a bit out of the way for me, but it's totally worth it! The coffee is smooth and not watery, but it's still reasonably priced. The donuts are fairly priced, and the bagels and sandwiches are downright steals ??

Best donut shop. I reside in Marina where we have one donut / bagel shop. It's worth the drive on weekends when donuts call. I work in Monterey so weekdays when the craving hits I can grab one on the way to work.

Fluffiest and most amazing doughnuts you will taste. I know Red's in the area is great as well, along with Marina doughnuts but Monterey doughnuts are worth it every time and everyone in your office will love you when you bring some in.

I want to bring everything about this establishment home with me. I have never had doughnuts, nor breakfast sandwiches like this. They are so deliciously wonderful ??. The people are just as awesome as the food.

The glazed donuts are a must-try. It's light and soft on the inside yet has a crunch when you bite into it. It is not too sweet and perfect for a chilly morning.

Good donuts but super expensive ($3 for a single maple bar) and $5 minimum card usage. I wish them well but too rich for my blood.

I'll admit: You have delicious Doughnuts, coffee and also - it is like a 1 minute walk to where I live. But the reason why I gave 4 stars is because you guys don't have Gluten-Free Doughnuts I can eat! If you had products like Cinnamon Sugar, or anything from the kinnikinnick brand -- that'll be 100% Great!

Where I?m from these donuts are nothing special. They aren?t bad but they aren?t special either and given they are $3 each, I was expecting more.

Grew up in Midwest with lots of great donut shops. This place reminds me of Long's Donuts in Indiana - light, not overly sweet or greasy. The anti-Krispy Kreme! Try them out - you won't regret.

The man behind the counter was very rude. Half of our chocolate covered donuts have a burnt taste. Red's Donuts are much better - regretting even trying this place.

It's an okay place. We went in here and there was such a strong smell of pinesol and it just made the whole experience bad. I had that smell in me for hours and did not enjoy the donuts very much.
