I honestly never heard of this place. Me and my daughter decided it was a good day to walk to her appointment as we walked past there was a young lady just smiling. I looked up it said bakery! We didn?t go in but I asked the dentist receptionist about them so we decided to go back afterwards (I know her dentist would be disappointed) it was a little cute shop clean not much of a selection but I heard you can order what you like in advance. Finally able to find a Bakery that's not overpriced and of my liking. I love their Apple Pies, the apples are done perfectly and not firm as other Bakeries are and the crusty is light and fluffy. I tried their layer cake and I'm sold on them baking my next Birthday Cake and the Pastry Chef decorates them so pretty. All the pastries have tro are delicious.

I have been going to Minerva Bakery since childhood. I started getting my nut rolls and other various snacks that remind me of seeing my mother bake for us as a kid. UPDATE MAY, 2025: Still as good as I remember! AND....I've been searching for years around every local bakery/pastry shop & NONE OF THEM make good Cheese Pockets! They've all begun using the cream cheese type filling like you find in a Danish or mixed w/ some fruit in a sweet roll or coffee cake. MINERVA knows!!! Couldn't wait to get home after having bought a large Paska (Easter bread) at Minervas, but when I cut it into pieces for freezing til the Holiday, I found that the center was still doughy, having not been baked completely. Hopefully an adjustment can be made when I return it to Minerva's tomorrow.

Bought a birthday cake from Minerva back in July and changed a quote without my knowledge now bought 2 doz of Pazkis and messed up my order did not get what I ordered then tells me she told me when I picked them up instead of calling then it was sorry. This is the place to get the absolutely best baked goods (ladylocks!) and cakes you'll ever taste. You will never find better icing anywhere else, I promise you. I am from this area but I currently live in Austin, TX. The closest I've found to Minerva was a Whole Foods cake and it was like a 7/10 whereas Minerva is and has always been 10/10 for me. Minerva Bakery did our wedding cake in October, 2021 and it was perfect! We were able to pick 3 different fillings (one for each layer) and they have so many designs to pick from. They worked with us on the design we wanted and we could not have been happier with the outcome. All of our guests raved about how delicious it was. Would definitely recommend this bakery...and not just for wedding cakes!

The best ever paska raisin bread! They use not only dark raisins but the golden raisins! Love it! Also they make a braided breakfast roll with nuts/or without and 3 different fruits. We bought the lemon/apricot/cherry. Then it's drizzled with icing! So delicious with coffee!!

This was the Most Disappointed cake I Ever had from Minerva and I been getting cake's for years! The cake was a lopsided part of the batter was over and undercooked which made the whole icing in the middle lopsided and the cake was dry. This was my husband's birthday and retirement cake luckily he doesn't really care but I do.This cake was $66 dollar not sure if I will order again.

I love this bakery since I was younger! Their chocolate chip cookies dipped in chocolate on one half is my favorite! But however still mad about them not making their pepperoni rolls anymore. They had the best ones.

My wedding cake was made by this bakery 44 years ago and I have had good and bad experiences. I called this morning to order a birthday and was told to hold. The employee put the phone down and I waited 20 minutes listening to people's in store conversations. When I ordered the cake I was told I couldn't pick it up until after 10:45 am. Now they are telling me when to pick up a cake instead of me telling them. I thought bakers baked through the night.

This was once a great bakery, the iced cakes looked as if a non professional amateur decorated the cakes to say the least except for the smores cake, the rest were pitiful looking. The bakery makes excellent products. I've been going there for years. I recently wanted to obtain some of their Cinnamon -raisin bread. I was there @7am. I was told that the raisin bread was not made that early. I asked when I may return to obtain a couple of loaves of bread (which I might add is the best). The staff was unable to tell me when to return. She said I might try calling the bakery to find out when it would be available. I called couple hours later only to find out that they had sold out. Ugliest birthday cake picked up on Friday. Not only was it ugliest cake I ever ordered in over 50 years but made a yellow cake not white like I ordered. Minerva has certainly gone downhill. Wonder if they will get to celebrate 101.

Fantastic family owned bakery! The prices are reasonable and the flavors are on point. I especially love the icing that they use for their cakes, it is not too sweet and has a smooth texture. Sometimes they have a shelf of discounted treats that can be purchased.

We go to Minerva's just about every week to pick up their wonderful pastries. Everything they make is excellent. The white cream in the field donuts and the gobs is something that I can't get enough of. Also, the pumpkin cookies remind me of the old fashioned pumpkin cookies I grew up with. This place is sooooooooo freaking good. The icing they use for their products is the best I?ve ever tasted. I wish they sold it by the tub. Lol. It?s not just the icing all their products are out of this world good. I travel from about 30 minutes away to come here. They?re way better than the overrated Oakmont Bakery.

Independent Bakery that has been in business for almost a century and I understand why. Their baked goods are made fresh everyday, they have great cakes, and the atmosphere is so friendly it feels like home. My great grandmother loved this place, and I like their cream puffs, neapolitans, donuts, and a lot of other things lol. Pecan rolls too!. Many types of home made breads. My only advice is to get there early before their fresh baked delicacies and daily specials disappear!

Minerva's is the Best bakery around. The cupcakes are scrumptious. They are heaped up with icing and the sponge is sooooo moist. Yummy! Try there nut horns.....huge and soaked in honey. There paska bread for the holidays outshines everyone's. They dont scrimp with the raisins. Loaded with deliciousness. Prices are within reason of the goodness of the goods.

Minerva's has excellent baked goods! I had our wedding cake done by them one year ago, and it was spectacular. However, I had to lower their rating because of their customer service. I called with a question about our anniversary cake and was rudely told "we can't help you."

I lived in Pittsburgh for a long time worked down the street at the hospital, and they ordered a cake for a co workers BIRTHDAY and I was hooked! I am a Baker and am pretty good at it but th cake is so moist great texture. Buttercream frosting perfect! Not to sweet, decorated perfectly, just as I ask, will decorate as you wish -------if possible. I look for a reason to get a cake every time I come back to the port!

Most of the bakery products I've tried were bland...Lemon curds puff pastries were crooked and only half filled. Chocolate chip cookies were guaranteed to be soft but were crumbly and salty.

Amazing nutrolls reminescent of what me and my family make for Christmas, a Slovak tradition. Soft, sweet dough with a nut or apricot filling. Cookies and cupcakes were amazing. Cakes were beautifully decorated. A hometown vibe that keeps people coming in. Always a line, friendly faces, and attitudes aimed to please. We bought a dozen nutrolls and carried them on the plane ride home to share a little taste of the old country with our friends.

You don't stay in business 96 years and through the Reaganomic collapse of the local industrial economy by being subpar or by chasing trends. Oldskool, authentic neighborhood bakery. Friendly, more than fairly priced. My only complaint is how long it took me to learn about it - they could use a sign or three along the Great Allegheny Passage.
