Mikel's Donuts & Subs

If your in the area of Valley Blvd and Cedar in Bloomington make the short trip over to Mikel's Donuts & Subs. The bread of their subs is what has me coming back year after year along with the mayo dressing they use. The bread has a flakiness on the outside with a slight toast to it. The inner part of the bread is soft and very flavorful. The dressing reminds me of a ranch style dressing with a mayonnaise base. I happened upon Mikel's for breakfast this morning. The breakfast croissant was huge, fresh, and delicious. The Bavarian cream donut was great and also large. The blended mocha was super chocolaty and amazing. The volume of high quality donuts offered surprised me. I highly recommend stopping here and will be returning myself. Tip: It was before 7 and I had to ring the bell on the counter, but the place was packed before I left.

Talked with owner and he stated business had been slow due to traffic. I understand that it is difficult to make a good profit, but when I looked into my sandwich, there was hardly any ham, and at $8.00, I was hoping to be satisfied and make it my go to. Here are the pictures, hoping someone else will have a better experience because of this. The Steak Sandwich was delicious and worth the price. I suggest passing on cold subs from this establishment. Best subs hands down! I remember coming here when I was little and now I bring my little one here. Always friendly service, they make their customers feel valued! Even my baby was acknowledged. Their donuts are good too!

Best subs in town, possible all of SGV. The donuts are also SO good. I ordered a 12" Cheese Steak and a Maple bar donut for $12. Can't beat that anywhere. Family owned as well so you know the service is top notch and very friendly.

This place is something else, lady at counter gossiping with other regulars, meanwhile customers are packing up. Coffee is watered down, no bueno! Most important they charge 80 cents when you pay with card ??????? how ridiculous is that!! First & Last time for me!!

The subs are pretty tasty, and we recommend the Italian Trio or BBQ chicken sub. It's a little hole in the wall with great family service, and the hospitality is genuine. When my wife & I crave a really good sub, we will not hesitate to drive 27 miles from where we live to eat here. Try it, it's worth a try.

Great place to get that donut fix. My donut cost a dollar but the demand on donuts is high so i get it. Thrifty Ice Cream definitely The Best.

I've been coming here sense I was a little kid. I love the family dynamic and atmosphere they give. And Molly is such a beautiful soul. There subs and donuts are so amazing and good and light and fluffy. Now I bring my kids here and it's still the family dynamic feeling.

Worst customer service ever, this peso. Disrespected me cussed me out because I was waiting before 5 other people came in and she took their orders and made their stuff when I already paid for mine and I was the first one and I waited 30 minutes for a snow cone and over charged for my snow cone and I believe she spit on my snow cone and I tossed it.

I have been looking for a good sandwich place and was recommended by my daughter. So good and fairly priced. The employee there was really nice. It really touched my heart when a homeless man went in and asked for water. She gave him a cup of ice water and knew his name. Most people won't even let homeless into their restaurants. I decided to buy him a sandwich. Her kindness was contagious! Thank you for being kind!

Philly cheese steak was awesome. The staff was fantastic as well. The donuts are TOP NOTCH. The Chinese food next door was damn good, too.

My family & I have been coming here for years! Always consistently good and high quality! The donuts are fresh and not greasy at all. The sandwiches are to die for! We love them so much that we always get their sandwich platters for parties and they always give us free donuts to go with! You will be blown away once you try their sandwiches...and I think they make their own pickles too!

Sandwiches are good and made fresh, way better than subway, also you get a free donut when you buy a large sub. The egg salad veggie sandwich with avocado is my favorite. Small mom and pop shops like this are the best. Support your local businesses.

Very delicious donuts at a very cheap price

Loved the sandwiches. I got a meatball pepperoni sandwich and it hit the spot. You also get a donut. The place is clean , the staff worw masks and gloves when handling your food. Great service and atmosphere. Definitely coming back again.

Love this bakery. The subs have a lot of meat and the bread is chewy and fresh. Now you get 1 free donut per sub and the day old for $5 is still fresh. Did I say I loved this place? Clean and A rating!

Been there a few times when working in the area and we all like it so much. Grinders and donuts are so good. I work with picky people but they all love the food from Mikels. Very friendly there and the prices are pretty good, especially compared to other places. Definitely are "lunch spot" when in the area.

I worked down the street and was looking for a local sandwich shop. I found this donut shop that sells sandwiches and my life was changed. Just a simple sandwich that taste like magic! I got all of my coworkers hooked! I?m planning on catering from them for upcoming events.

Horrible, who gave them 5 stars? Who is smoking crack and reviewing restaurants ? I had to give $30 worth of food to my dog because i trusted reviews on Google maps. Never again. You might as well buy Banquet Frozen Dinners for better quality food. I mean seriously.

I eat here whenever I'm in the area. The food is made fresh and tasty. The people are nice and super friendly. It's the perfect place to grab something to eat any time of day. I would recommend it highly.

I have eaten at this restaurant for so many years. It is hands down my favorite sandwhich shop. I am sure they make their own delicious bread. It is always soft, chewy with little bit of crumb/crunchiness on the outside. I would always order extra veggies including pickles and then I found out they sell their delicious pickles. We went to this donut shop at 11am, but they only had a very few selection of donuts for a donut shop. No chocolate bars, glazed, or chocolate donuts available. I was really disappointed.

If you are close to the Fontana area eat here is a small very clean place , the ladys working here are very courteous and make the best sandwiches ever. If you are like me that I don't like to eat meat every day the avocado veggie is the best option.

I been looking for a good Italian sub and finally I found the place! For around $5 i got a sub with 3 delicious Italian meats and freshly cut vegetables. Forget Subway...that's not where I would go to eat fresh.

Great establishment! It's well known to the locals here in Bloomington. They have ice cream for the kids an some very good sandwiches. I recommend to all who pass by.

OMG! here I go again, So... I never give five stars, but I had to for this. My friend lives down the street and head me say to my girlfriend that when we got home I wanted a sandwich lol. Great donuts I come here at least 2 times a week and there breakfast and sandwiches are great i had them make 2 platters for a new years family reunion and all my family was asking where they were from and complementing the food

The best pastrami sandwichs and their donuts are great too. The restaurant environment is OK but I eat at home or on the road so it doesn't affect my opinion because the food is great!

We've tried coming 3 times to this place once they closed early and the other two times they didn't even have any doughnuts.. It was 5 hours before closing and they weren't even willing to Make more they were going to sell us the nasty hard ones that have been sitting there for hours.. not even willing to give us some kind of discount didnt even gave a big variety of doughnuts. Such horrible service completely disappointed in this place.

Been coming to this place over ten years I always get the same thing a large roast beef sandwich prices have always been decent until now 11$ For a sandwich now an extra 80cents to use my debit card I?m sorry you have lost a loyal customer I won?t be back
