They used to be the best in Louisiana. But the three different kind of donuts I just purchased were all horrible. The glazed donut tasted like it was soaked and saturated with cooking oil completely unpalatable. It?s sad to see something that was once so good reduced to this
What happened to the donuts?! I haven't ordered in a while, but I missed them so I decided to treat myself today. The donuts were so SMALL! The overall size of the donut has shrunk and the hole was so big there was hardly any donut left. Very disappointed ??
I used to LOVE mechs and get it almost every morning, but now I?m never excited to get it. The food has changed poorly and there?s always a bad aftertaste. If the recipe changed I recommend they change it back. The aftertaste tastes like metal and I hate it.
What happened to meches donuts I haven't been there in a while and when I got there the loud music almost made me turn around. Y'all ran all the old people out of there that used to sit in there and drink coffee. I couldn't even hear the lady take my order with the loud music. They had two hoodlums outside smoking whatever and they work there. The old people don't have anywhere to go anymore and drink coffee and talk. So sad!! I never thought I'd see meches change like that.??
My first negative experience with Meches. I went in at 7:30 am and ordered 1 dozen hot glazed donuts. The person waiting on me went in the back and came out with a box of donuts. 10 minutes later I opened the box to discover cold donuts. They tasted like day old donuts. I've been going to this Meches for 24 years and in the past was always told if they were out of hot donuts.
Very good, fast and freindly service. Never seen a XXL donut till I came in here. Kids would love this one.
It?s an extremely busy place, which just goes to show how amazing their donuts and entire menu are! So it?s worth the wait and the harried employees. And the longest I?ve ever had to wait was less than 10 minutes. Great donuts, pastries and food and I urge everyone to give them a try!
Love having a meches near us since we moved to this area. Employees are very friendly and patient, as I always seem to take forever deciding what I want. Love this Meches!
They are always fast and friendly. Food always delicious. Donuts just melt in your mouth. Especially if they are super fresh out the oven, O yea! They thanked us and told us to come back. We surely will thank y'all.

A must stop when in town! It's sweet smelling when you walk in. Very clean and orderly. Have won many awards. Local hot spot. The owner Mike and his staff are so friendly and inviting. They have great prices no stale food and a unisex restroom which is also very clean. I would recommend this to everyone! Thank you for the hot coffee donuts and pasteries! We will be back !
Out of donuts at 8:45 on a Saturday morning and won't have more for another 45 minutes. This is the second morning in a row I visit trying to get hot donuts and they were not available.

My kids love this place ! I grew up eating here as it was the ONLY donut shop in town? i vote for it to remain that way. No other shop has been open as long. The BEST most delicious donuts !

The best donuts around. Period. The staff is courteous and professional and they've always made me feel welcome. If you find that you enjoy their donuts as much as I do then I'd also recommend you try the King cake.

We went to get kolaches and donuts for work. They were good, not sure if I'd get them from here again. Donuts were a 4.5, would definitely get donuts again.
Every great tasting food I know of is bad for me one way or another. So judging by the taste of these donuts, they must be about to kill me. That's how good they are. Can't wait till Sunday morning. Mouth is watering.
We were late getting there...9:30 or so ??...a lot of fresh doughnuts had already been adopted by other families. Nonetheless we found some orphaned cake doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, and a twist or two which we thoroughly enjoyed on our drive through the bayou!

They are usually good, but the dozen of doughnuts and doughnut holes I purchased was dry like they over baked them. Very disappointed. I bragged on them to my friends who came from out of state just to be let down. Come on Meche?s get right!!!
Opens with fresh Bakery goods at 4:30 a.m. till all backery is gone. Good fresh coffee is also available. Table seating is available, but you need to go to display counter to order. Plenty of parking. The backery has always been clean and neat everytime I have visited.
Everything we had here was excellent. The Boudin Kolaches are unbelievably good if you have never had them. It would almost be worth a trip back from Atlanta just for those.

Beautiful, fresh goods. Very busy place staffed by some people with a lot of hustle. And I can?t recall people waiting in line bopping to some Sunday morning Zydeco anywhere else. Serendipity!
What else could you ask for? Excellent food, great people. They have all their registers up and running during peak times so they get you in and out quickly. I wish every town had a Meche's.

Quite simply the best doughnuts I've eaten. Being from Ohio we also found the boudin rolls to be amazing and we were very lucky to score one of the last apple fritters. Now I know why I had to circle the block 3 times to get a parking spot. If I'm ever back in New Iberia Meche's will be a must.
This place is cozy and quaint. The employees are always smiling and greeting you as you walk in. Sometimes there is wait for service but it's worth it because the food is delicious and always fresh.
I enjoyed Meche's donuts 30 years ago when I lived in Abbeville. I'm glad to also have them here in New Iberia. Great donuts, family atmosphere.

As always, I am met with a smiling face and amazing attitude. Coupled with those warm donuts, and those heavenly, warm, sumptuous boudin kolaches, it definitely made my day better!
I was so disappointed after purchasing a king cake from them this year. It was salty and they were very greedy with the icing. I will never purchase another king cake from this location again.

seems like most of the reviews below we're given by friends or relatives. I thought the donuts were ok, but nothing spectacular. I honestly might have enjoyed dunkin donuts a little better.
I had to wait for them to finish cooking more, being it's Donut Day, but I didn't mind at all. They are the best around!!!
The last few times my husband got donuts at 6am and they weren't as good as usual. My family always looks forward to meches but the last visit in May they was disappointed. They don't even taste the same. ??

Girl behind counter was very short with me and acted like I was bothering her. Used the same gloves for my cash as she used to handle the kalache. Too many donut shops in the area so I will try one of the others and will not be back to this one.
