Mary Lee Donuts VII

Mary Lee Donuts VII

Reviews Summary

The reviews show mixed experiences, with many praising the donuts' quality, freshness, and friendly service, especially at peak hours. However, consistency issues arise—some locations run out of popular varieties or serve cold, doughy pastries. Complaints highlight poor customer service, rude staff, and occasional hygiene problems (e.g., mold). While some customers swear by specific locations, others prefer alternatives due to inconsistent quality or attitude. High ratings often cite great value and taste, but low ratings reflect frustration with product availability, temperature, and staff behavior. Overall, the donuts are a standout, but service and consistency need improvement.

Customer Reviews

1.5.25 came for the first time at around 8:20 A.M. This was a nostalgic place for my boyfriend because they used to buy Mary Lee donuts in their high school homerooms. He enjoyed it. My perspective: the pastries are not sweet or tasty. 0/5 Everything was extremely ?? bread dough-tasting with sparing coatings of glazes. The Bavarian Creme was even very weak or watered-down. I won't be back.

Just wanted Banana nut muffins but got mold instead. Then they have the nerve to ask me if I want to come and pick out something else !!! Never ordering again !

The workers making the donuts in the back stare at you like a rabid animal. How about a hello or good morning?! Is that too much to ask? Why does the price for a dozen donuts change every weekend? It?s never consistent. Also check your receipt because now they are charging a ?procurement fee?. This is ridiculous and there are many other local places to choose from with much better quality. Won?t be back.

Good fresh doughnuts. Biscuits were OK. People are super nice. Coffee was good. They move people through quickly.

Went here on Mother?s Day, walked in no greeting, no good morning. I was the only in there at 9am , as I stood at the register to order everyone saw me and turned their backs. I waited 5 minutes so then I walked off , just to hear someone say how can I help you? I just kept walking, thanks but no thanks keep it..

This place is a disaster. Day old donuts that are stiff. The kolachi's are as big as my thumb. Never coming back, ever! The coffee was hot though so I guess they doing something right.

Great donuts, but they are my weaknesses, and i am a good size manly, man too....

Stick with the donuts. The sausage egg and cheese burrito is full of potatoes and had no flavor. Couldn't find the eggs or sausage. Fillled with a cheese paste Biscuts with sausage patty had stiff cheese sticking out from them. Looked like children's toys. Didn't want to try them. Strawberry filled glazed is great.

Ordered here multiple times. I first noticed that depending who is on the register the price for a half and half dozen of donuts changes EVERYTIME. The line was drawn when I arrived at 6 am jus to be given the oldest donuts they could find. I love Mary lees donuts just not this one. They?re clearly racist and it shows.

Good donuts but they?re never hot and the long-haired lady always has an aggressive attitude with me.I only go here when my son wants donuts last minute on Friday mornings. I wouldn?t go here otherwise. They?re not very nice to people who look a certain way.

This is my favorite Mary Lee. The lady at the counter is so kind. She remembers my order and always has a pleasant demeanor...Early mornings are usually busy but she keeps it moving along!

Very clean and friendly staff always ready to help customers best tasting donuts and apple fritters in Town!!!

Best donuts in town without a doubt. There's just one problem with this particular location. They are the absolute worst at stocking product. They literally never have pigs in a blanket and always run out of the standard Mary Lee varieties. You better really like glazed if you go to this location because that may be the only type you're going to get. Good luck

They never have as big of a selection as other Mary Lee locations, and their donuts are never hot. Maybe I'm used to the one at the corner of Drusilla and Jefferson, which was closer to my house before moving, but I could walk into that location at 11:30, right before closing, and they would always have a big selection and the donuts were still hot. At this location, it seems like they keep the leftover donuts and try selling them the next day.

Very Sloppy, thought this place used to have the best donuts until I went to the same store on drusilla lane. On the contrary, this location always runs out of the certain varieties and winds up only having glazed. Also I can do without the attitude from the short lady with glasses, I get it. It's early so your tired but you don't have to be rude. Try the other location or just go to Eds Donuts, those are better in my opinion anyway.. 2 stars for being mediocre at best...

Customer service is awful! I spent $50 plus bucks to be given 12 napkins and when asked for more I was given 6. When I spend at the Mary Lee in prairieville I?m always treated with kindness and when I spend $40 or more I?m always given either a apple fritter or donut holes. I?ll continue to go the one in prairieville. If it wasn?t for my teachers apperception week I would have left the donuts.

Mary Lee Donuts is a Sunday morning tradition for my family. We love the apple fritters and the twists. Sometimes substitute some cinnamon rolls or glazed donuts. You can't go wrong with any of the above. If you prefer something savory in the morning allow me to suggest the pigs. That's usually my choice. We wake up a little late on Sunday, so I might have to hit all of the above in the microwave for 10 to 20 seconds.

Early morning donuts and coffee! Good but the donuts are smaller and not hot when I want in about 5:15 am 1 morning recently. So, I was a bit disappointed. I expected them to be hot that early.

Delicious donuts, biscuits, kolaches, coffee, juice, milk, etc. Open super early. A few tables to sit and eat there, or take it to go. Friendly service and covid safety protocols in place.

Oh my goodness, my first ever Mary Lee's donuts and they beat my old favorite, Krispy Kreme, hands down on the plain glazed donut. Lemon filled, not so much.

Service was good... I got kolaches and the most ridiculously small sausages I have Ever seen in a kolache... I will NOT be buying these kolaches again...just a Lot of bread and a whittle bitty sausage... Awful

I can't say enough about Mary Lee donuts. When I come home, this is what I look forward to every time. They're all local, family run businesses, with fresh made donuts.

Not a big selection but what they had was perfect, absolutely delicious and warm. Lady at front counter was courteous enough but just seemed harried and I felt rushed.

I thought it was a one time thing but I?ve been there at least 3 times and the donuts are never hot or even warm. Even at 6 am.

Best location in town. Moved near the drusilla location and still drive to Perkins for my donuts

Love their donuts. Staff is always so friendly!

I love that this Mary Lee has had maple donuts every time I have visited, even 10 minutes before closing!

Small little shop on perkins. Employees are super sweet, and donuts are good.

Just the place to get the best fresh donuts in South Baton Rouge. Hands down.

It is 2021 theres no way i should have to spend a minimum of 5$ to use a debit card..DO BETTER

Best donuts you can get. Get there early though for that dough

Always nice people that work here. Apple fritters are so good.

Mary Lee's has the best donuts in BR. Great local chain.

Great donuts not piled with sugar glaze. I love Mary Lee donuts!

Good donuts and a very nice set up of there cases

Much doughier than the Perkins location. They use sandwich jelly in the jelly donuts. :/

Staff is kinda rude and they always run out of most flavors that aren't plain glazed.

Good donuts fresh every time when I go

Nothing hot about the donuts as previous reviewers said. And I was there at 8am.

Just after the donuts come out of the back at 5:15 am, your mouth will thank you the rest of the day!
