Stopped in about 12 minutes to 9:00 (closing time) last night for something I really needed for my sick dog. Was glared at by an employee at the front doors even though I smiled and said hello. She then unpleasantly yelled after me, ?You will have to check out and leave through the C-side!? I grabbed the single item I needed and was checked out and back in my car at 8:54. There was no need for her to behave in such a hostile way just because it was nearing closing time.
Just so other people know even though the store is open until 9pm the registers shut down @ 830pm - 840pm in the grocery area. Depends on who is working. Employees saw me waiting up there and didn?t even bother to tell me. Finally went over to the gas station side and she let me know they are closed over there early every night. How about this. Even though I live in town I will go back to buying my stuff at Hy-Vee since you want to dog me like that and make me sit up at the registers without saying somethin
Bakery is amazing! Huge donuts for ONLY $1.49! Also, they sell Dairyland Bakery Chocolate Covered Cheesecake Bites so good!
Picked up last minute supplies for Thanksgiving. Had what I needed. Fast and friendly service. Very clean facility.

My favorite small town grocery store it is always clean. The employees are always kind and courteous and very very helpful. Stores very well kept. All items are faced throughout the day. Produce is amazing.
I would have given 5 stars before the experience I had today! Never have we had a rude employee while shopping there till today! His name is Donald, he apparently doesn't like to help cashier. He even said you should have the other cashier help you! If we need to go back I hope we don't have to deal with this sort tempered worker again.
First time going there. And the reason why is I was in the neighborhood visiting a good friend and my uncle and had to stop and get some things before I headed back to Randolph. Nice grocery store it is ??

The customer service here is just above and beyond yes, everyone is so nice and helpful. If you want something they don't carry, they will try to acquire it for you, they really do a great job of being a small-town grocery store.
They never know what they have!! One lady said, I don?t think we have cherry tomatoes. Well I needed them so a ?think? isn?t good enough. Asked her to find out for sure and she said go ask the cashier. ??? Really??? Plus the older cashier Linda is always crabby and never has anything to say. Unless the boss is around she?s nicer. Go for bacon one morning. Hardly a selection and one was rotten!! Check your fruit that?s always rotten too. Went to get chicken breast?s. One option for non frozen, golden plump.
Small town grocer with not-so-bad prices, really decent selection, and friendly employees. I'd shop there more often if I lived closer.
Great meat market. Lots of selection when it comes to brats, beef sticks, and jerky. Staff are always friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. When I'm in Lonsdale, Mackenthun's is a must stop.

Since the pandemic, I decided to upgrade my review from 4 to 5 stars. Mack's has been doing an outstanding job of keeping items in stock that are hard to find at other stores. Unlike my friends who live in the cities, I don't generally have any trouble buying TP, meat, milk. Good job, Mackenthun's!
Pretty good selection for a small town grocery. The deli food is top notch and gas here is always more than a few cents cheaper that at the freeway. All in all great, friendly place

Spendy compared to like Hy-vee or cub! The young gal that checked me out was amazing & motivated. Very nice and professional. She gets 5 star all day long!
Comparable to lunds or Byerly price wise ,why I don't know but I'll take that drive up the street to dollar general and get what I get at sometimes half the price, or where ever else, but overall it's a clean store and always got loads of help around if you needed somthing.
My wife and I were debating on moving to Lonsdale or the Elko/New Market area. We decided Lonsdale for a few reasons, but one being that we'd have a local grocery store. This place is great and all of their associates are nice and helpful.
there is a person named michelle who works as a cashier has these tissues that she keeps in her pocket and she blows her nose every second and its honestly disgusting. I don't want her touching my food or anything. She's was very rude to me. Please take care of this.
Stopped for lunch was working in the area. Great experience the young man in the deli actually knew what he was talking about and the cashier was super friendly.
Expensive as hell but I guess you pay the price when it's the only grocery store around , it's well kept and stocked all the time
It's my local grocery store so I might be biased. Nothing too exotic here but reasonable selection and more than fair prices. Sale days are frequent and generous.

Make sure you are checking the expiration date on everything. Multiple times now I?ve bought things that were expired a month ago if not more. It?s one thing for over processed foods but expired milk or creamer after a month past it?s date is concerning.
Better brands with new owners, prices about the same prices as old owners, bit more spendy than a cub or similar but good sales. Good coffee, and deli.
Always have a great shopping experience at both the Montgomery and Lonsdale Stores.The employee are always friendly and knowledgeable. prices are comparable to other stores in a 25 mile radius.
It's great just to grab and go, but full grocery shopping, to high price. But nowadays everything is!
Good deli with great service. Good assortment of foods to choose from, including ready to bake meatloaf that I thought was good with a little BBQ sauce.
