Latte Express is generally highly rated for its delicious breakfast sandwiches, fresh donuts, and quality coffee, with many praising the friendly service and affordable prices. However, some note slow service due to understaffing, and a few complain about inconsistent coffee quality or rude behavior. The shop is especially valued for early opening hours and quick, tasty options near Fisherman’s Wharf. Customer Reviews

Awesome place. Looks are deceiving but it?s so good. Donuts, yummy! Coffee is great! I had a latte with oat milk.

A hidden gem in the fisherman?s wharf area. Great bahn mi sandwiches at half the price of the nearest similar place. The bahn mi sandwich I got was large, beautifully toasted, spicy, and really well seasoned.

Only place in the area that?s open at 6am. Decent selection of quick to go breakfast food. One of the best made English muffin with sausage and egg I?ve had. The old gentleman running the place is very nice and can see that a lot of his regulars coming in early in the morning to get their breakfast from him.

An authentic SF breakfast spot run by a hard-working couple. Decent breakfast options and an impressive selection of hot sauces! We were also given some lovely free donut balls with our breakfast and coffees. We would be happy to come back again. The coffees were good, too - and they had oat milk, which I was not expecting from a small place like that.

This little mom and pop shop was an absolute life saver when we visited SF. All the restaurants closed early for 4th of July and the ones that were still open had lines for hours. I was impressed with how good my Bahn Mi sandwich was, considering it wasn?t authentic. 10/10 service.

Honestly, I love to visit places like this. It is a small shop and you can tell the owner poured their heart and soul out into it. The place has their little touches all it and it's really cute. The food was good - yes they microwaved the croissant sandwich but it's not like it was a frozen sandwich to begin with. It all tasted great, the coffee was good. If you need snacks and stuff, you can purchase it here as well. The service was a little slow but it was the one person there so understandable! Such a cu

We had coffee (city roast), glazed donut and an egg, bacon & cheese croissant breakfast sandwich. The owner (I assume from all the locals grabbing their morning coffee) is a seasoned veteran of the deli counter business. There is some seating inside, but if you're staying in a hotel around the area it's a quick walk to bring your food to the comfort of your room. The coffee was delicious and strong (I find the drip coffee is weak in SF, I assume it's due to the preference of barista-served coffee here) .

Stumbled upon this little gem while walking around San Francisco. It is ran by one person, so be patient, everything you get will be worth it. The Vietnamese coffee is one of the best I have ever had!! I also had a bagel with cream cheese, and even though that sounds very plain, it was not, the way it was cooked made it so delicious. We stopped in one last time before leaving town and will miss it greatly.

We stopped by on the way to catch our boat to Alcatraz. We picked up coffee a maple glazed donut and a croissant. The coffee was self serve and fresh. The donut was fresh fluffy very delicious. The croissant was also fresh and buttery. Definitely recommend coming here for a quick bit when on the go or even if u wanna stay and eat it there. They have tables and chairs available.

Only one employee, so I had to wait while the guy made sandwiches for 6 people ahead of me before taking my simple order for coffee and a donut. The brewed coffee was terrible, though the donut was quite nice.

The food we had was excellent and was especially nice as it was just a short walk from our hotel. The only letdown was the lone person running the entire restaurant. We were the 3rd customer in line and it took quite awhile for our turn to order and get our food. If you don?t mind the potential wait, it is worth it, especially if you care about helping small-business owners over large chains.

Meh, underwhelming latte. Maybe food or pastries are better but was not impressed. Maybe just not my style. The gentleman was nice though behind the counter.

This place has the best apple fritters I have ever had. Beautiful doughnuts and good sandwiches.

There was only a single person working during the breakfast rush. They had only been open an hour and were already out of almost all the types of bagels. We asked for bacon instead of sausage, they said it was fine, and still gave us sausage. This location doesn?t seem like the others

This place deserves more recognition. It?s a small business that many seem to miss a lot knowing how many tourist attractions are around here. I am having a Ham, Turkey bacon club sandwich from here. It is excellent. I highly recommend the blended drinks too. It?s peaceful too. Support small businesses!

Horrible service. Walked in with 1 couple ahead of us. Waited 20 minutes for that one and then the guy started an online order. Waited another 20 minutes. No breakfast.

Most likely I've gotten food poison here after eating a chicken Bagel. I spent the next 3 days in bed with vomit and diarrhea...

By far the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The donuts were super fresh! Will be making this a regular stop when we come to visit San Francisco!

Im only showing half a sandwhich because i already ate the other half. This place is the bomb dot com and you would be completely remiss to not check it out for lunch. It feels like home and the sandwhiches taste like it too

Came here twice with the family for breakfast. The service could be a bit slow. The egg sandwiches were microwaved but the kids ate it no problem. A bit overpriced for the quality but the portions are big so you will be stuffed. Depending on what you want, Starbucks may be a better option.

It's the best Vietnamese Sandwich I have ever had in the US!

Cute little grab-and-go spot with donuts, pastries, and coffees.

Great place for coffee and a breakfast sandwich for a reasonable price in San Francisco. The owner wasn't the warmest of personalities, but I can overlook that easily because the food was tasty and a good price. I especially loved my Vietnamese Coffee. Not many places were open at an early hour in Fisherman's Wharf, but this place was and it hit the spot. We were in and out quickly and left with full bellies.

This place is an absolute gem. Open earlier than any other coffee shop in the area, serves a delicious breakfast sandwich, and has a cosy feel to it. Will be my go-to spot when I next visit the wharf.

Best breakfast and by far the best value in the wharf area.

Like Starbucks but you don't feel like a pretentious douche bag afterwatds for over paying

I thought this hole in the wall coffee shop would be a nice change from Starbucks, based on the reviews. The reason for the line is due to understaffing, not a superior product. There is one employee running the shop. Bottom line: Blah ?buttered? (vegetable spread) bagel and a gas station cappuccino =$12.50! I should have had breakfast at the hotel.

My bagel with cream cheese had no cream cheese on it. When I went up to ask them to please put cream cheese on my bagel they didn?t seem to understand so I left. Line moved extremely slow and coffee was terrible. Other than that great place!

I tried their bagel with egg, tomato, cream cheese, and added sausage. IT WAS SO GOOD! The man at the front was so nice too!

The people here are seriously the nicest! Those donuts are also no joke. You also can?t find their prices anywhere in the city. Always a pleasure coming into Latte Express

Got the american sandwich bagel. The chicken was juicy and the bagel was fresh. Decent place for a quick breakfast and coffee. Their iced coffee was better than a lot of coffee shops.

Bagels and donuts were great! Kids asked to come back twice. Carmel latte was very good.

I have been in SF 5 days and this has hands down been the best food, coffee and service I have had so far. The place is busy and with good reason. If your at one of the nearby hotels or you get tired of standing in line around the corner, I highly recommend stepping over to Latte Express and getting your day started right.

Great place for breakfast. Food is delicious and portions are very nice. Very nice and accommodating. Large selection of donuts as well. Everything is fresh.

Love this place. Small local place open when everyone else is closed. Long john donut was so delicious.

One of the only things open (other than Starbucks which I generally don?t have as my first choice) and there?s a good selection of bagels - jalape?o bagels as well! The sandwiches are fresh and the owner is friendly. Not a tremendous selection but it gets the job done!

Tried to charge $8 to pay with credit card. Microwaved the oil drenched donuts. Only a couple tables so we had to walk elsewhere to eat. Only thing going for it is there are no other donut shops nearby.

Latte Express was my go to while at Dreamforce. Great americano (10/10) breakfast sandwiches? if near fisherman?s wharf it?s a must.

Nice and quaint shop. Not too over the top just a place to grab a bite before walking around San Fran or after the day is done. Staff has always been friendly and there's a few tables in and outside for seating.

A delightful surprise - incredibly affordable and great coffee and pastries in a city where I've been paying twice as much for everything. Shop owner is a little quiet but probably the only place I've been all week where I didn't feel like I overpaid.

So awesome everything was awesome especially the donuts!

Great service for a quick breakfast. Nice coffee and bagels

Nice ma & pa place. Support locals, not big chains like Starbucks.

So you are near Fisherman's wharf and you pass this unassuming little store. STOP: Inside you will find an Apple Fritter that I dare you to eat just one, unless you are on a severe diet and your stomach is the size of a pea.

Had a latte everyday we where in town and they are delicious! Friends has donuts and said they where good too.

The coffee has no flavour and comes from a machine and the food is Costco resale with premium markup. Definitely would not recommend.

Best coffee in the area, fluffy doughnuts ?? and amazing croissant bacon egg and cheese. Best breakfast in the area!

Great value. Excellent breakfast

Egg muffin is delicious! Right a across the street from the Alton. Made hot and fresh!

Great little place for sandwiches, muffins and donuts. My chocolate donut and coffee this morning was awesome!!

This place was right around the corner from our hotel. Amazing donuts and the most reasonably priced place we've seen here!

Tried the orange Thai tea boba and it was fantastic! Very friendly staff, great experience overall :)

Great pastries and breakfast with a variety of coffee and tea! The kids love it we have been coming for breakfast and I would recommend it.

Clean, quick and good quality.

I used Door Dash and they forgot a bunch of stuff in my order.

Super Sweet lady which I think was the order. Food and drinks are very inexpensive & service is excellent.

Amazing food and coffee

The food is amazing! The prices are even better! Definitely a hidden gem.

Gem of a place. The bagels and breakfast sandwich are amazing.

The lady working is so sweet, she gave us a free donut!

Very nice place for breakfast and coffee. Friendly.

Threw in a free donut. Pretty affordable (relative to SF) and big bagels

The owner is very rude and has his little daughter working there

great donuts and thai tea. come here all the time when I'm craving either one of those

He makes the best mocha!!! Love this place and highly recommend!! ????

Earliest coffee available French roast good to go

Maybe the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had!

We came here several times. Great Chai

Nice staff and a very good coffee. That was a perfect start.

The word Express is misleading. Don?t waste your time.
