Lafeens Family Pride Donuts and Ice Cream

The donuts are fluffy and not too sweet (I can't speak on the cake donuts, didn't try those). I especially appreciated this on the apple turnover since sometimes you can't taste the apple because of how much sugar there is. There was a good amount of variety left even though we went closer to dinner time, and the employee was quite friendly.

Great local donut shop open late. Went at 8:30 and the apple fritters were still warm, what a treat! The cake donut was also delish. Cash is preferred since they add an extra charge for cards.

Great little local and family owned donut shop. They have a great selection of yeast and cake donuts, and the donuts are huge! Great flavour in their donuts even though they are a little on the sweet side. The old fashioned and maple glazed were two of our favourites. I'm a chef and my wife is a former pastry chef so trust me when I say these are the best donuts in whatcom county! They take the basics and make them perfect! You won't see foo-foo pastries or donuts, just the basics such as bars, fritters, etc, but they hit them spot on! Texture, balance of sweetness, everything....try them! Try the donut holes!

Preface: I am a donut snob with high standards. Blueberry fritter wasn?t bad- felt a little like artificial blueberry. Boston cream was decent. Cinnamon cake one I didn?t like- whatever kind of cinnamon they use didn?t taste like true cinnamon. I shared them with the fam and they all liked them. Lafeen?s donuts are delicious whenever you get them, but the fact that Lafeen?s is open until 10:30pm and you can get HOT, FRESH donuts after around 8pm is one of Bellingham?s wonderful secrets. Well, definitely not a secret since there is usually a line! My favorite are the donut holes and glazed donuts when they are hot, but everything is fantastic. I live nearby so I have to really exercise restraint to not go daily.

Lafeens Donuts are _consistently_ decadent and delicious, but the prices seem a little out of whack especially given the absolute absence of atmosphere, and bare-bones level of service. Staff are never rude, but a single degree of warmth would go a long way for a blueberry fritter that ought to be a buck seventy nine.

Best donuts I've ever had, the blueberry fritters are TO DIE FOR, I'd honestly say anything they make with blueberries (be it in the donut or their glaze) is the best I've ever had. Amongst some of the worst doughnuts I've ever eaten in my 50+ years ! Cheap flavorless dough lacking any texture as well as ridiculously oversweet icings & fillings ! The kind of low quality doughnuts you'd find at a gas station or average grocery store bakery at an absurd and ridiculously overpriced $4.00 a doughnut !! $16 for 6 donuts is absurd. The donuts are average too. I only selected 5 donuts but she gave me 6 and charged me for all 6, I didn?t realize it until I got home and opened the box. I was given a chocolate donut, but I don?t like chocolate, so it?s a waste. I think the hype surrounding this place comes from Bellingham not really having other donut options.

It may not look like much from the outside but their donuts are GREAT. This place came recommended so stopped by around 10pm on a Sunday. Even though it was almost closing time they had plenty of donuts and the donuts were still fresh. That means they must bake donuts all throughout the day. They have a large selection of donuts. If you like donuts I certainly suggest you stop by.

Lafeens donuts are that of fabled Bellingham lore. Don?t let the divey exterior fool you, this is the best donut shop (and cheapest) north of Seattle. Their old fashioned glazed are my favorite but occasionally I?ll get a little wild and go for a cinnamon twist or Apple fritter. Quick tip: if you want piping hot donut holes to give meaning to your otherwise meaningless existence, pop in there around 8:30 pm when they?re coming out of the oven. You?ll thank me later.

Always a delightful experience, always an amazing donut. This has been my favorite establishment in Whatcom Co since we moved here in 2015, and now I get to bring my kiddo here. I love this place. Really strange interaction when I was in Lafeen?s with my daughter. Decided to eat our donuts in there. I am shook by how incredible these donuts are. The raspberry bear claw was what brought me there in the first place (I tried my friend?s) and I also ordered a maple buttermilk bar, apple fritter and raspberry fritter. Terrible customer service. Owner will not hire more than 1 person to service the very busy Sat-Sun morning high traffic. Wait line is ridiculous. 1 person working is overworked trying to help so many customers. Such delicious donuts! At the time we went (lunchtime on a Friday) there was easy parking and we were helped in just a couple of minutes. The worker was very kind and when we asked for recommendations to help us decide, they helped right away by recommending what's most popular. There was seating inside (long booths/picnic benches).

A couple of picnic style tables inside you can sit to eat, but it was a bit chilly inside. The clerk/cashier was very friendly. We got a Cinnamon swirl with maple frosting, a raspberry filled bear claw, and an old fashioned with maple frosting. They were all delicious. Good thing we live 30 minutes away because otherwise I would be there every morning!

We have visited Lafeen's multiple times and unfortunately the last 2 times have been less than good. Our latest visit was on Feb 3, 2024 at 5:45pm and there was no selection of donuts, no donut holes, 4 brownies that were gone before we left. After making do with store bought or chain bought donuts it was really nice to get donuts from a real/classic donut shop. I got an old fashioned and my daughter got a chocolate glazed old fashioned. It was around mid-afternoon so they weren't the freshest donuts, but they still had a great flavor and texture (good crust with soft moist cake inside). It's probably good that we don't live nearby or we'd be visiting way too often.

We love love love this place. We moved to Bellingham a few years ago and heard about the donuts here and are happy we found them! They offer many types of donuts, My husband loves old fashions and I love chocolate with sprinkles. Just be prepared you might encounter a long line, so check the time of day you go. We've also learned that at 9:30 p.m. they have fresh donuts made and we will occasionally make a late night run to get some delicious fresh donuts that is well worth it!

Picked up a selection of donuts. Not great results across the board. Chocolate glaze was not flavorful. Dough was soft but nothing special or interesting. Pink glazed donut was chemical-ly tasting (bubblegum mixed with cedar??). Old fashioned style was soft, not crispy like what one would expect. Unfortunately, the price is quite high for avg or below avg donuts. Staff were friendly.

The donuts here are very low in price, and hand made fresh every single morning and throughout the day! The ice cream is also great, thought it is not clear whether or not they make it. But the food is simply superb. Many different kinds of donuts and ice creams to choose from, and mix! The staff are also very friendly and welcoming.

Go at 9-11 pm for the fresh doughnuts. Or be there right when they open. They have ice cream too, not much to look for in coffee, but doughnuts are all you really need.

I love going to Lafeens. Despite their out of the way location, their long hours make them very accessible. The donuts are always fresh but they are often sold out of different things. Love coming here for donuts, especially the maple bars and apple or blueberry fritters! We usually come an an hour or 2 before closing just as there making another fresh batch, so good and the kids love it!

It's a great shop! It looks a little bit basic but it's kinda cute! The doughnuts are super and they have some smaller ones if you just want a bite. They're super soft on the inside and a bit crispy on the outside. The coffee machine looks a little old but the lattes are actually quite good!

This is a good place to go if you are wanting some donuts here in bellingham as it is pretty much the only donut place here in bellingham. Now with all that said, the donuts here are great and are just fine for if you are craving donuts. Lafeens also serves ice cream, and the ice cream is nothing special. If you are expecting parlor quality ice cream you are better off somewhere else (such as mallards) but if you are just wanting a quick cone, their ice cream is perfectly fine.

Delicious! I came to this donut shop on a whim. The cabinet was empty but I was told that there were some fresh old fashioned, chocolate and Maple glazed that were still warm coming out. It is an older building, and looks a little worn.The doughnuts were pretty good, we came in the evening so they would probably be even better earlier in the day. The service at that time was not very good. The person at the counter wasn't friendly and barely spoke. It is the type of place that is well known by the neighborhood.

Really good coffee and spectacular donuts served by people who care. They ask only one family at a time in their shop due to COVID-19 restrictions, which made us feel all the better visiting their shop!
