I?m a big fan of donuts, and this place has by far the best I?ve ever had! I also recently tried the ?fire in the hole? breakfast sandwich was was great as someone who like spicy foods! Awesome community staple and friendly staff.

One of the top local spots! Not to mention that they are some of the best donuts in the area! I would recommend going in the first couple hours of opening to get to full experience of everything that they have to offer; especially if it is your first time. Fast and friendly service in a bakery with an old style case and counter reminiscent of family bakeries from many years ago. The Fritters are excellent with other flavors beyond the traditional apple, (try the Cranberry/Orange, it is amazingly tasty). Highly recommended, easy in and out with a 15 minute loading zone in front of the building. I will be repeating the experience.

Best breakfast sandwich and I love the roast beef sandwich too! Awesome breads and danishes. I love how they're updating the inside little bit by bit. I will agree with some of the other reviews, that depending on the type of donut or cookie, you will get a different texture than at the big box stores. And depending on the person, that's good or bad.

I have purchased the freshly-made breakfast sandwiches here many times before, and they have always been great. Today, however, I went to purchase one and I was given a pre-made sandwich from under a heat lamp. I didn't realize it right away and by the time i did, it was too late to do anything about it. Ordered donuts for an event with teenagers last weekend. Staff was fantastic and made ordering very, very easy. More importantly, donuts were AMAZING! And everyone loved them. GREAT, GREAT BAKERY!!!

Wow. Everything I have tried so far has been very, very good. You can really tell the difference between handcrafted, specialty, knowledgeable bakers and the stuff you can pick up in a gas station or grocery store. I highly, highly recommend!

Fresh baked, wholesome bakery with a wide variety of delicious goods. Best doughnuts in town made fresh, but my favorite is the steak, egg and cheese sandwich. Absolutely phenomenal. Seating is hit or miss, staff are friendly.

The best hot beef sandwich inside of Chicago! Cinnamon apple bread had such a perfect structure and flavor...it was perfection. The soups have all been so flavorful and perfectly cooked. I will drive across town to buy doughnuts here for our employees! To say we love this place is an understatement!

We were very excited to see Wisconsin represented on Crime Scene Kitchen season 2 we had to stop in and check out the bakery! We're really glad we did cuz O-M-G the peanut butter donut was absolutely phenomenal!!! We ordered a variety of donuts and that one hands down is our favorite. Can't wait to stop by again soon.

Great little business, you better have a sweet tooth if you walk in here. A bit much frosting for my liking, but I could do it once I scraped some off. Better too much than not enough! Would like more seating options, but there isn't much they could do about that.

Love this place so much! Their breakfast sandwiches and donuts are amazing, and the place is always hopping, which is also a testament to how good their products are. I have yet to try a lot of their baked goods and homemade bread, but it all looks fantastic.

The breakfast sandwiches are very delicious, made fresh. Always enjoy a nice loaf of fresh bread to go. Update in May 2022 - new owners are amazing. I enjoy the fresh vibe, new variety and core staples that have always been there. Looking forward to many more visits in the future.

Though I preferred it quite a bit more when it was the OG Krueger, it's still a local bakery and they know how to bake. Was disappointed in Thanksgiving order of sandwich buns which my aunt asked to have sliced and Kreger specifically told me there was a charge (np, and expected). Unfortunately the 4 dozen buns were whole as could be. Big deal? Not really - but the slight frown I got from my aunt for not following the directions (I shouldve checked, like you do at a fast food restaurant) was a bummer.

I was concerned about the change in ownership. But after visiting and sampling a good portion of their products I can say. Their donuts, danishes and scones are top notch. Don't be afraid or reserved. Go enjoy this still top notch local bakery. It's amazing!

They have great donuts for a good price but when it comes to their cupcakes--yikes! $45 for a dozen small cupcakes the size and quality you can make at home ?? I was not expecting that when the donuts are some of the best in town. Very disappointed with the price and quality of the cupcakes. Will definitely remember to go to Sweet Lola's for cupcakes from now on rather than here.

I have been stopping at the bakery for nearly 20 years. For a small bakery that is family run it is absolutely excellent in its offerings. The amount of work that goes into making sure there is a large selection has to be astronomical. The food and bakery are priced right. Small businesses in America need to be supported! Make sure to get the ham and free hard rolls on Saturday!

I came in this week to get a variety of products for my family to try & we were completely underwhelmed. I expected so much more based off of the reviews & really wanted to like everything but the taste & quality just aren't there anymore. Homey little shop. Was very excited to get donuts, but they didn't quite live up to expectations. The lemon filled one didn't seem to have risen properly; instead of being filled, the dense and oily donut had to be cut in half like a sandwich roll with the lemon spread on like mayo. This is a great place to stop and a local favorite for breakfast or lunch. Make sure to get to breakfast early because they stop serving breakfast sandwiches by 9 or 10. Overall the baked goods, the homemade soups, and cookies and donuts are next level. Definitely worth a stop, even if you are just passing through.

I struggled with this one. It's a good bakery, but that only gets you so far. I used to go here at least once a week l, but a few of the people behind the counter were constantly deeply rude EVERY TIME I would come in. What's worse, is they would constantly be talking politics and saying hateful comments about literally half the population out there. Who does that? Keep politics out of my coffee please. Until then, they'll never see another dime of mine.

Fresh donuts and sandwiches. I many shop for donuts though, and they are quite tasty. They could be open longer on Saturday, and they are not open at all on Sunday. I understand everyone needs a day off, but Sunday usually is a prime day for donuts.

The last several times I've had donuts from here, the've been disappointing. They're small, cold and chewy. I don't know why so many people regard them so highly. Go to the Pick N' Save bakery instead and you'll be much happier!

Covid hotspot? Cramped little shop with no chance of social distancing. Few of the customers and none of the employees were wearing masks. I won't go back until the pandemic is over. Since the new owners took over, they have really done a great job. Nice people, very good products. One complaint, they close too early.

I have been going to this bakery for years now. Weekend treats, special breakfast for the kids, you name it. I have always found them friendly, helpful and polite. Since they are small, the sooner in the day you get there, the better the selection. There is no other place I have found that compares here in Wausau.

I love this little bakery it's the only place we order cakes from. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They offer a wide variety of breads, doughnuts, cobblers, cakes and various other pastries.

Delicious baked goods; the service by the grill isnt always the most pleasant but the great food/baked foods makes up for it. Parking can get a bit crazy but it's worth it!
