King Donuts of Charlestown

This place is going to get another rare 5 ? review from me. I went in this morning not really knowing what to expect. I asked if they had any Bavarian Creme and much to my surprise the gentleman helping me said yes and they spun around and filled the donuts right before my eyes with Bavarian Creme! I have never seen that before. All places before prepare donuts for the day, pre-filled and if they run out, too bad. Not King Donuts! I am impressed and will most certainly be a frequent return customer! 5 Homer

Finally! Kolaches in southern Indiana!!! I can?t tell you how happy I am to finally be able to get Indian food and kolaches on this side of the river! My wife is from TX and I fell in love the first time I ever had a kolache in my mouth. I feel so spoiled to be able to get them around here. Also try the breakfast sandwiches, the croissants are decadent. The donuts are great too, just try everything! Very nice people running the joint too. This will absolutely be a staple for my family.

My first time going there and will come back so many more times. You pick your donuts and then pick your filling that you want. Love it

This is the first place around I have found "Sausage Rolls" or "Kolaches" (as I've seen them on the menu). I am from Tornado Alley and every donut shop makes these and they are wonderful! So I'm very happy to have found some yummy sausage rolls here in Indiana. Perfect!

Kings donuts has great food and the owners are super friendly. The breakfast croissant is awesome. We also love the cake donuts and the fritters. They have a chocolate filled donut that is amazing!

I work nights and King's opens at 5am. When I get off work I love stopping here for donuts. They're always warm and fresh. The service is unmatched. The donuts are amazing! Try them out sometime you will not be disappointed.

We got a glazed donut and a piggy in a blanket (can't remember name). We also got ham cheese and egg bagels. THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS! This is a small place so carry out or eat in your car. The dough is GREAT

We come here annually and indulge in half of the menu! Although it's honestly worth the 5 hour round trip it'd take to get them! The family that runs the place is so sweet and patient as we drooled over the cases. One of my family's favorite donut places ever, you won't be disappointed. Ps...try the donut holes for a mind-blowing treat.

I haven?t tasted donut holes so good since I was a kid and the donuts where amazing I also got a sausage egg and cheese croissant sandwich which was impeccable this has to be the best donut shop in Indiana

Great sausage kolache style sandwich! The donuts are light, yeasty and not too sweet. The icing tastes as it should. Neat fact: you have 3-4 fillings to choose from and they fill them upon request, not before. The smoothies are great.

The lady at work there is always very very nice. Don't go very often because I'm trying to lose weight. But their donuts are really really good. She'll fill the long johns with either cream or jelly or any other donut if you'd like it that way I don't know of any other place that will do that.

Best donuts around! I get a dozen every weekend. The owners go above and beyond to cater to special requests. Plus it's reasonably priced.

My husband and I just moved into the neighborhood and we heard good things about this place and decided to try it. The staff were beyond friendly and the donuts and smoothies were soooooo good! When we were leaving they even told us that they looked forward to seeing us again. Totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a good donut with friendly service

This place has the best donuts on Earth! The Asian women who run this Eatery are extremely talented! I've never been a big donut fan but I crave theirs! They are sweet without being too heavy they are crispy and fresh and absolutely to die for!

We just moved to Charlestown and saw this place and decided to try it and was not disappointed at all. Everything was fresh and delicious and really cool how they fill the doughnuts as you order them with custard or jelly of your choice. Definitely be back often.

I love supporting small businesses. The owners and staff are super friendly and nice. Their donuts and muffins are always delicious. Much better than store bought donuts. I also like how they have food trucks come on certain days in their parking lot.

Love this little place! The doughnuts and breakfast sandwiches are great and the service is wonderful! My family and I definitely love eating here. The only thing I wish they would make are lattes. Even though they currently do not make lattes, it is still the perfect little spot to grab a quick bite in Charlestown.

I was definitely a bit disappointed that they were out of donuts, and only had other pastries when I came. I have not had that problem in the past. They said that they don't make so much so they don't waste food. There was another gentleman that came in with his kids after I did and he has kids were also disappointed by the fact that they were completely out of donuts. I will come back at some point, and hopefully they will not be out next time.

Stopped in this morning for the 1st time. Very pleased that I did. The doughnuts were very good, and the pricing was wonderful. We don't eat doughnuts on a regular basis, but when we're in the mood from now on, we will be going back here.

We came in on a Saturday morning (about 8am) with our daughters and we were in and out in quickly. They were polite as we made our decisions (it was our first time there). We ate outside at their food truck tables. Our girls liked their donuts and my wife and I enjoyed their apple fritter!

My friends have a camper on Bushman's lake. We have gotten donuts and breakfast sandwiches twice from King's the owners are so nice and the food is great!! I live in Louisville and seriously would drive there in a heartbeat for their friendly service and delicious baked goods!!

I love this place. It's tiny, you might even miss it driving by it the first few times, but once you've tasted their goods, you won't. They carry a wide variety of in house made pastries and also offer short oder breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Extra bonus, you can request any of their pastries to be filled on demand. Typical offerings include cream, custard, lemon, or raspberry jelly. The latter is especially good in chocolate longjohns.

They won't accept plastic unless you spend over $5. The coffee menu is misleading and subpar. The friendliness is substandard. The interior is dull. Otherwise the donuts are decent and the speed of service is fairly quick. Worth visiting if you're in town and want some quick donuts, not coffee.

This place fills your donuts while you wait. You can choose your filling and they do it right then. Loved it! Had a breakfast sandwich too. I will travel from New Albany to go back. It was worth it.

I go there at least once a month. Very good donuts and friendly staff fix your donuts the way you want on the filling like pudding instead of icing. Best apple fritter?s I ever had. +++++AAAAA!

This is a place that if you live in Charlestown i suggest that you don't sleep on it like i did for so long. My father in law recently got doughnuts from there, and my god were they good. So with the fresh in my mind i wanted some breakfast so i stopped in there. I got the spicy sausage bun and was a little iffy about it due to it being microwaved. I was wrong it was amazing and something that i would and will be getting again and also trying their smoothies. Service was polite and prompt, the prices are

A local doughnut shop with made fresh daily treats. Good selections of fresh pastries. You really need to try their breakfast sandwich. They serve croissant or bagel sandwiches. The bacon or sausage , egg and cheese croissant will keep you coming back for more.

Great donuts but the bagels not so good. Not toasted, just warmed and hardly any cream cheese. I was disappointed! I think you guys need a toaster they taste much better that way!

Best Bakery i ever ate at being 400lbs i tryed a lot. Love this little bakery and her Thia Tea is like a frozen cappachino but better. Her breakfast sandwhiches are to die for and great selection of donuts very fair prices will return many years as long as it doesnt go anywhere

Wanted a cream filled donut...and the girl literally. Took a donut from the case and pumped it full of cream. Wanted it dispersed evenly but..what else could you ask for. The icing was a bit thin..but it was noon. I will give it another try n my next trip.

Stopped in for a coffee as we were staying at the campground. Ended up taking a doughnut back for everyone. I enjoyed my blueberry cake doughnut and took back two custard filled eclairs with chocolate icing and a doughnut with apple filling. Everyone in the group enjoyed a selection. Deducted a star because the coffee was very weak, so watery. If the coffee had been good, it would have been a five star stop.
