K May Donuts

I can't believe someone else thought the chocolate donuts tasted like acetone. I though I was crazy for two years. Glad to know I'm not nuts. I hope it's not like this anymore, but they were really bad. The others are all fine and taste great, but those chocolate ones were suspect.

Wow! Went out of my way to get here before they ran out of apple fritters. Ended up getting 2 and 2 breakfast sandwiches. They earn their reputation. Apple fritters were REALLY good - crispy edge bits, soft inside - very flavorful. Breakfast sandwiches wer phenomenal! Brioche bun(?) was soft and full of flavor, bacon was crispy, eggs were fluffy and perfect. I'd say these are now my top favorite bfast sandwiches in the area. I'll be coming back again. WORTH IT!

Wow! The best donuts I've ever tasted! I'm sorry to say they didn't last very long and I had to fight to get the last one in my office!

Both my husband and I loved your donuts, just like everybody else! I noticed a change several months ago, probably a year.. We?ve raved in person with you, and bragged to others about your donuts. I can only comment on the donuts I would always order; fritter, apple or pineapple.. it noticeably no longer has near the icing it used too.. and it?s more soft throughout with little crunch on the side. Your fritters stood out from the others because of the crunch and plenty of icing.. but no more. Your Maple bar

The donuts used to be the best around for almost a decade but when the original owner left, the donuts went from very light and fluffy to nothing better than Dunkin Donuts. I stopped in today and the donut recipe has changed again and now are more cake like, which is sad. Even the donut holes that were light and fluffy are cake like. I might as get my donuts at Dunkin or off of a grocery store shelf for non-light and fluffy donuts. I would rather spend the 30 mins to drive to Krispy Kreme. My dog hesitated

We consider ourselves to be donut snobs? This place is a hidden gem! We stopped on our way to FL this year for vacation and had to make sure we stopped again on our way back home. The donuts are all amazing! We had glazed, chocolate iced glazed, blueberry, pumpkin and one that looked like a fritter. 4 dozen in all to be exact! They were all perfection. They don't taste like I remember. The apple fritter is burnt and I guess fried in old oil? Couldn't eat the Boston cream, it taste like some sort of chemicals... The donut holes are ok though. The people are really nice

Their chocolate donuts taste/smell like acetone. The health department went out to inspect and k mays excuse was that they dont know about the taste because they work there all the time and cant smell the problem like a customer would who doesnt work there all the time despite having several customers complain about the same problem so they knew very well about this issue and have continued to sell donuts that are toxic. I was told by health department that k mays said they were sorry however never offered

Love this little donut store! My favorite apple fritters and the only place I know to get pineapple fritters.

Just purchased 4 donuts and some kolaches. All of the chocolate iced donuts tasted horrible like nail polish remover. I also received a custard filled instead of creme filled. When I called to inform them of the bad tasting donuts they hung up on me . Very disappointed as they are usually my favorite place.

Got there a little later than usual. Still had a good selection of donuts left . Be forewarned the apple fritters sell out quickly! Friendly people and good prices. Love fresh donuts go see the folks at K May Donuts.

Decent tasting donuts and the jalape?o kolaches are always ??. The best thing though is their A+ service I always receive when entering & exiting the establishment. Theyre always so thankful for shopping at their establishment which you dont get at corporate locations like Krispe or Dunkin.

Super nice people & AWESOME donuts! Fresh! So fresh they feel like they're melting in your mouth! Amazing food and their food score was 97! Totally satisfied with our donuts & we will DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN & AGAIN! I wish they stayed open later though. :)

Had there donuts 2 years ago and still think about them! No joke! The lady behind the counter was so nice she gave he a whole donut just to try out a flavor. We are headed that way this summer for vacation and the first thing my wife asked was, can we stop at the donut place on the way down. Can't wait to have again. The cashier told me she makes that donuts by hand every morning starting 2 am and when they are out they are out!

The donuts are a little on the high side. Paid $5.00 for 2 donuts. I won't be going back because of the prices. The donuts are okay, there's a weird taste to them and I can't place it.

Do yourself a favor and get the sour cream donut. It has a beautiful crust but was still soft and cakey in the middle, topped with the perfect amount of glaze. I don?t live in Athens, I was just passing through but I would go out of my way for these donuts. The customer service was also great, so that was a nice bonus! Their donuts are fabulous! Picked up 2 1/2 dozen variety donuts on my way to work this morning. My co-workers raved at how soft, fresh, and delicious they were. Definitely worth stopping. Plus the service was great!

Classic hole in the wall (see photo) but the donuts ARE tasty .I went at a non busy time Friday morning after 9am. So you have to decide, I would say try it at least once. The place just didn't look clean. Sorry, I used to be in pest control so I'm very particular. I ordered glazed, chocolate glazed, cake and Boston Creme. ALL were good. And I luvvv a good donut and have the stomach to prove it!?? Needs to be cleaned up and a simple remodel. Invest the money back into the store.

I did not have a good experience with them. Be aware I went through this and their prices are a bit higher than Dunkin or Krispy Kreme. I ordered two chocolate eclairs, 3 chocolate cream filled and that other cream filed donuts. They were full of old tasting grease and the eclairs made me sick for 2 days. I think it must have been food poisoning. The eclairs were the only thing I ate because when I tasted that same old oil taste soaking them, I was not gonna chance getting sick again. This place has the best donuts and service around. Always have such a large variety, too. Last time I was there to get donuts, I was headed out of town to help my friend's family move her things out of her apartment. It had been a long few weeks as she has been unresponsive in the hospital after an unexpected medical emergency. This Starbucks has been a disappointment to me. They are closed on weekdays in the middle of the day, and I cannot tell for any apparent reason. I also looked up the ingredients for their beverages, which is not specific just to this location, but they are terrible and most of the fruit beverages do not even have that fruit in them. I hope that Starbucks decides to make a big leap up for consistency and quality ingredients. Carageenan in ANYTHING is unacceptable for a beverage that expensive.

Best doughnuts around. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Go between noon and 1 p.m. and they'll send you homes with free extras as they clear inventory out for the day. I highly recommend.

Quality alone is levels above Krispy Kreme, not to mention they are significantly cheaper and will gladly fill donuts to order with whatever you desire.. K May is a beautiful example that small local businesses can not only compete with corporations but can even offer higher quality products at lower prices at times.

We ordered two cinnamon rolls. Not much cinnamon, which was mostly in the center of the roll. Very bready. Somewhat disappointed.

I was so excited to get to go and it was nasty I hate to say it but it really was the donuts was just cooked so I thought I hit the jackpot but it tasted like they were cook n burnt fish oil or something ????. But they were very nice people

Went on a Saturday around 11 and they did not have any donuts except for glazed. The staff was rude and did not seem to care. My son wanted K may donuts for his birthday and all I could get was glazed. I don?t know who runs this location but I will never go back.
