Customer Reviews

Good old school coffee shop/diner. Very quick service and food portions are generous.

My favorite breakfast place since I was a student at Pratt. Coming here for over an decade and Johns never disappoints! Love their breakfast

Small but it?s great been going there breakfasts and staff is amazing

I?m not kidding - my entire meal came within 2 minutes of ordering - incredible service! Unlimited refills of coffee. My two eggs sunny side up with bacon were delicious. The meal was under $10, great prices for the area. They have specials like chicken and waffles and breakfast burrito. Classic American diner experience, perfect option for breakfast.

It might not look like much, but you're always going to get great fast service, good food friendly wait staff. This is always my go-to diner whenever I'm in the area.

A convenient spot in the heart of Fort Green, Brooklyn. A community recommendation. Request for a good breakfast head there or even get it delivered. Everything from Grits, Eggs, Home-fries, pancake?s, waffles, cheese burger, onion rings, french fries and the BEST LEMONADE EVER. Not too sweet but perfectly made. Head there early because they close early. I heard the gyros are good but I haven?t tried yet.

Where else can you get quick breakfast at 5/6am? Customers know this place and it shows even early in the morning. Despite being 8 degrees outside, it was cozy and warm in here. I ordered and got hot coffee in front of me right away. Food is quick. When you're done eating, collect your bill and take it to the register at the front to pay.

great local diner with quick service and just standard selections of food. the french toast had great flavor and the omelette is just solid. great BLT. they're super fast here and just a great little bustling spot. love it.

Neighborhood hole in the wall that's been serving food to the locals for years. Food always fresh. Fast and friendly servers

Best hidden breakfast spot there is. There aren't many places like John's left. If you're looking for that mom and pop diner experience, John's is definitely the place to go to.

If you are looking for a Diner! A real one? This is it. Fast service and food hot off the griddle. It was perfect!

Small dinner, been coming here for YEARS. I grew up on Taaffe and this spot is a small hidden gem. No modern sign or setting. Just your average dinner but boy, the blueberry pancakes are a must have. Paid about $20 for pancakes, Bacon eggs and an orange juice. I think it's worth it. Big portions. Thank you!!

I have been coming here for more than 30 years and it's my favorite dinner in the world. The folks here are the best. Never attitudes, always accommodating.

It's ok. Traditional diner vibe with a very affordable menu. This food is nothing special, but service is quick and the food fills the tum. Also one of the only few places flipping omelettes at 5:00 a.m.

Best place in the neighborhood keeping it real for the community. Cheap prises big portions! Good vibe, chill enployess og costumers. Food is a bit greasy but that?s fine.

This diner is amazing! Quick fast and friendly service. Breakfast is just amazing! Thank you! Can?t go wrong if you want a quick breakfast!

Quality food, low price, and all the employees are very courteous. Not to be confused with JJ's Kitchen nextdoor. Great place for a quick breakfast, since it does get full very quickly. Well worth it, don't forget to leave a tip!

This is probably one of the most efficient diners I've ever seen in action. Everyone is so friendly and their breakfast food was delicious.

Great spot for breakfast or lunch food is always on the money and so is the service

Classic diner experience. Extremely fast and GOOD food. Even during lunch rush, was in and out in under 20 minutes.

Johns donut which doesn?t really serve donuts anymore is one of the few old world coffee shops that has survived the gentrification of the neighborhood. The coffee tastes like water but they serve a decent breakfast and standard diner comfort food at affordable prices.

favorite diner. prices and food are unmatched. this place is a gem.

LOVEEE THIS PLACE. Everything is amazing. Quick service. Delicious food. Comfortable store. Get the fluffy pancakes. I come here all the time with my family.

tastes like home. my order was chocolate chips pancakes with bacon. endless coffee. never a disappointment

Gotta love this classic diner. It has such an authentic vibe. Really cheap too!

Best diner near here. Good food, nice service. We even finished all dishes we got.

Loooove this place! Always my go to for breakfast I live right around the corner and so happy about it. The pancakes are the best, but everything else is great too. Service is fast and easy. Usually crowded because it?s so good but never had to wait more than 5 mins for a seat, or i just sit at the counter.

perfect diner, 10/10 turkey club for a great price and such nice guys.

Classic diner style restaurant. Quick service, ample options, and an authentic neighborhood atmosphere. French toast is tasty, but hash and eggs is ??

Do not go here if you are hungry or want decent quality food. I ordered a garden salad with chicken for takeout. The chicken was grizzly/chewey and not edible. Pretty gross experience. The salad was also lacking decent portions of the salad additions that usually go with a garden salad. So I got lettuce and non edible chicken for $15

Fast, no frills diner serving up eggs, hash browns and toast starting at 5am. It?s magic.

Ordered breakfast. The food was ok. But, they will overcharge you and scam you on deliveries! They just make up the price. The price on their menu does NOT match what they charge. Do not do business with people that are dishonest!

Great place been coming here for years never disappoints

The breakfast here is everything. So the other day, I love a Belgian waffle, but every time I get a Belgian waffle is always be wet and soggy. So when I order, my Belgian waffle said, make it when I get there and don?t cover it. When I got there, my waffle was ready. It was crunchy and flaky. It was well cooked to perfection. Oh my God I love my damn waffle. This place definitely without a doubt take care and love their customers.

This place fockin rules. The foods great and the service is efficient and fast. It can get crowded but that?s for a reason. Beats the stuffy atmosphere of a lot of stuck up Brooklyn restaurants around it. Their pancakes are *chefs kiss

Excellent customer service. Quality food. A homely place.

The food is always amazing. The fresh squeezed lemonade is a must-have. A very small diner with limited seating.

One of the few diners left in Brooklyn. The food is good and the service is swift. Looking for a filling breakfast, lunch, take-out and delivery, this is the place for you. Their prime time is from about 7am- 2pm and closed early during weekdays.

Really busy corner spot. I've only ever had gyro platters from them but, their other offerings seem to be liked by all. It's a small place in a very busy area so, it's best to get takeout and even better to call in your order in advance since the place is so small and there really isn't anywhere to stand while waiting. And, you will have to wait during the lunch rush. Get there early if you plan to dine in or you will be taking your food to go. If you drive, be prepared to drive around looking for a parkin

The food was good but be prepared to spend an arm and 3 legs for it. I ordered 2 breakfast eggs, home fries with turkey sausage and the other was eggs, bacon and grits both came with toast and it came up to $19. The only reason I got anything from there is because I knew I could get something other than pork as a meat there's not many none pork stores in the area but next time I will just have to travel farther for breakfast.

Food is always on point.. they will make ur food to ur liking... dining area is small so if u want breakfast get their early and same for lunch...

It's a great place to eat any time of the day.

This diner has been here for many years. But they have seen their best days! But all they need is a NEW COOK! Because it is hit or miss in there with the food. It used to be really good, but how do you make a terrible breakfast! I ordered a simple omelet w/mushroom, peppers, onion, cheese & xtra bacon & it was $25, ridiculous & it was disgusting! Eggs overcooked, no veggies in so-called home fries & bacon too hard to chew! Never again! I gave 3 stars because the donuts are big & fresh. But breakfast is no g

Food was good, but I had a Philly cheese, and idk what it was, but it wasn't as good as some others I've had. Other than that, the servers were fast, and everything went smoothly. Even though it was crowded, it didn't affect the experience as much as I thought it would.

Nice neighborhood greasy spoon and pretty quick with delivery. It would be great if they were open past 4pm.

Been going here for 17 years. I grew up with these cheap, tasty, convenient food. And the staff is mostly hispanic so that helps the ambience stay chilled. It can get a bit busy but they still put in awesome service. You just got to love this classic diner in the Clinton Hills neighborhood !

Good food, big menu... fast service. Locals eat here!

I Went after a walk with my friend. The food has always been good and economical. The service continues to be on point and speedy. Enjoyed my stay.

This place has always had great food I have been eating here 20 plus years the weekend get super busy so be prepared to wait for a table they have the best lemonade around but if you're not in to sweet stuff like my wife don't get it or ask for less sugar

A beautiful place to just relax and take in the scenery. Great coffee always fresh and on point. The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable...stop by and relax ....it's a great spot to unwind.

Typical diner format for breakfast and brunch. It can be crowded on weekends, but the wait time is usually under 20 minutes, maybe longer if you wait for better seating (they have seats at the counter and tables but I always opt for a booth). I recommend the waffles and cheese eggs, they are my Mainstays along with the chicken tenders. Price is reasonable for what you get, although they have raised prices recently.

Absolutely love this place. Big food menu and everything is fresh/delicious. The prices are super fair. Great spot if you don't know what you want to eat.

Loved it! Really fast service, you get your food in less than 5min of ordering. Hash and eggs were delicious!

I love this place! The food is delicious! Meals are freshly prepared but quickly made. One can call and go pickup or have it delivered. Eat-in service is offered but due to capacity on weekends you will most likely need to wait.

Real small shop, but super quick and friendly service. They do accept cash as well as credit cards unless they have the "no credit card" sign up. Take cash for tipping, though. Or specify to whoever process your payment to add it on. I had the typical sunny side up eggs, but everyone around me ordered the best smelling waffles ever. Would return if back on this side of town.

You get a lot of food for your money. The food is good and serves breakfast all day

Money down the drain. I Spent $28.00 Dollars on breakfast and they couldn?t get my omelette right and the pancakes tasted like pork. I Called the guy asking if he can change the food and he said there was nothing he can do about it and gave me attitude. Definitely won?t be ordering from here.

I was introduced to John's about 6 yrs ago, and they never disappoint. Food is good and as you ordered, the workers are friendly and hospitable. Atmoshere is calm.

Delicious diner food at a great price, service is always amazing and they?re super quick with to go orders. Been coming here for years no complaints.

Good breakfast, made quickly. Attentive staff. Reasonable prices. Exactly what i would expect from a small NYC coffee shop.

Ordered the French toast, eggs, and bacon. Flavors were ok but I think the French toast could?ve been a little more crispy. Soggy bread just isn?t it.

John's is THE BEST diner I have ever been to. All of their food is excellent, and extremely well priced. I have no complaints at all. They are always friendly and never have attitude or are rude. I love them! Whoever hasn't tried John's should go and eat there, it will change your life!!

Oh where do I start. Let's start with Breakfast ... the donuts are fantastic, I mean nothing like Dough but they are massive classic style donuts that you grew up with. Eggs with meat + home fries are good, I mean it is a greasy spoon sort of diner. Delivery is wicked fast and the delivery guys are super friendly. For lunch: the fresh lemonade and chicken salad club sandwich are my jam. What I love about John's the most are that the prices are so affordable. I have to admit that my husband and I have legit

Love it, known them for Years. Food tasty and wide variety of dishes. Staff is VERY friendly and ready to please. Only problem is place is small so we usually order for delivery which is prompt.

This place is Great... Amazing good and quick service. Coffee was great and the homemade lemonade. I always enjoy my food. You must ask for cheese on your eggs or omelets. They have a great working system there. All men and excellent.

The best lemonade in Brooklyn!!! Service is always great, food is always fresh, and delivery is always so fast! My family and I love coming here for breakfast and the burgers are delicious as well!

This is your typical hole-in the wall breakfast spot. Amazingly fast given that they prepare mostly everything to order, the food is fresh, it's clean...but they don't stay open long...I think they close at 3pm.

Burgers and Greek Plates are really good. I haven't tried their breakfast but the pancakes look great. Excellent staff. A must-try if you are in the area.

This is an age old Mom n pop place with good food great prices and always speedy & courteous. If you want high society this isn't it...it's a diner that has old diner feel with good people vibes

It's okay. Sometimes, I feel it might be overcrowded or too many orders. Some times the orders come out wrong and they give you an attitude if you correct them. Not horrible. Not great. It's fills the tummy when newded.

Great diner for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Kids friendly and amazing food. Banana pancakes and California omelet with a pink lemonade is a must for me.

This is the best neighborhood diner in Ft Greene. Awesome value, super kind people, genuine community here. Also ask for the secret salsa.

LOVE their banana pancakes. Usually get then wth bacon and egss Their bacon is always crispy and not greasy. Coffee is great and their home made lemonade. The mexican men are always working hard for the customers that come in and phone orders. Place can get crowded and prices are cheap. Even deliveries are fast

I've been too perhaps hundreds of diners in my time. I love diners - my mind always wanders to John's. Consistently solid food and service is the hallmark of great diners and this one has it in spades.

My coworker called to order and the guy that takes delivery orders over the phone says he does not have time to take credit card orders over the phone. Rude and disrespectfully said I'm busy call back later. Of course she got upset and he proceeded to say that he doesn't care if she's upset or not he's not taking the order. DISRESPECT LIKE THIS WILL SHUT A BUSINESS DOWN.

Been coming here since I was 5. This place is just simply the best. Fresh lemonade, great food, good service ,and cheap prices. Like anyone who gives this place a low rating is just expecting the most out of this little engine that could.

Excellent prices, excellent food. The pancakes are perfect. "Simple but good" food that will make you feel like you got a good deal.

Great diner in Brooklyn. Just what we were looking for on a Saturday morning while visiting. Definitely will go back next time we're in town.

Best little diner! Been going since I was small and now I'm taking my kids and husband here! Great atmosphere and fast service!

Typical Brooklyn diner with fast paced food service and great American flavor. A great place to start a tradition!!!

Cheap breakfast spot on Myrtle near Pratt. Worth the wait when crowded. Where else can u get liver w onions that tastes like steak, especially w bacon. Their semi-honemade lemonade refreshes as well

Great take out food for the moment, great american dishes, reasonable prices great service and it has people waiting on line which tells you that the food is very good, this restaurant has been at that location for over 30 years and they deliver,,

I love this place and it's so hard to find good affordable places to eat only thing is it gets busy and crowded fast

I've been eating @ John's for 20+years- great neighborhood small scale diner

My kind of diner. Hole in the wall, neighborhood regulars, fast/hot food, and some state fair level lemonade

Ive gne a few times but would rather go elsewhere. Its a very small place that is usually crowded and noisey. Hardly have seating available but do have great food. Attracts alot of customers. Reasonable prices.

I really enjoyed John's! Fast courteous service, and food was really good! Nice corner diner with a homey neighborhood feel. Highly recommend! ??

This is my breakfast and lunch spot when I'm in this area once a month...Owner is a nice guy and the cooks/staff are cool. Great Pastrami and lunch menus and good breakfast.
