The vibe is undoubtedly wonderful and the service fine but their sandwiches are a total ripoff. They charged $15 for a cold premade half-sandwich. When I picked it up, the price wasn't marked and didn't expect it to be so much- absurd! And not even fresh (as the prep date was three days ago). Pretty soggy and inedible.
Absolutely awesome atmosphere in a great location, beautifully decorated. However, the experience was dampened by the attitude of the girl with pink eyebrows. I politely asked if the coffee that had been set out without a name was mine, and she responded with absolute disdain, sighing, never answering. It was a simple question, and the place wasn?t busy. I get that everyone has off days, but this wasn?t a complicated order. It?s a shame, because I?d love to make this my regular coffee spot given how great t
Busy comfortable coffee shop with friendly staff and great coffee. They recently added a soft serve machine and make a good affogato.
This place is cute, great coffee, good sandwiches (although you have to get here early to get one on the weekends). Overall delicious place. I have gotten the cold brew here and a few specialty lattes. They also have a Ham and marmalade sandwich that is quite good. Highly recommend coming here and sitting at the part outside.
We wanted to sit down for a bit of a coffee break as it looked like a cool place, but all seats were taken by people with laptops. I do enjoy working from a coffee shop myself but prefer concepts with a designated area for working and leaving a few tables for regular costumers. When we ordered they were out of several items and the coffee was too burnt for our taste.
9$ (including 2$ tip) for horrible customer service, no latte art, and took over 10 mins on a slow week day morning. Drink was made too sweet made by a barista with 0 enthusiasm when talking to customers but laughing it up with their coworker. Swear this place used to be good
An excellent place. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Whenever I can I go to this ipsento because I love the place, because they always treat me very well, because it is cheap and, most importantly, it is delicious. This is without a doubt one of the best coffees I have ever tried (not counting the delicious pastry foods they sell there). The place is very quiet so you can study there quietly or do your things peacefully without anyone bothering you or without hearing screams or loud noises. If you
The Donut Dinosaurs and Coffee Crocodiles home spot. Great atmosphere for coffee, cocktails, working, reading, or just relaxing. Fantastic spot outside on nice days or enjoy sitting at the large opened windows. Food and coffee is a bit pricey, but quality is great.
Good coffee. Order in the back of the shop at the counter, if they are crowded it can be a bit confusing. They were out of iced beverage lids when I went and the staff was a tad curt. Appreciated the self-serve water with real glassware.
This place should be a neighborhood favorite, but instead it is just a living example of wasted potential. The new ownership has done a great job with the space and they seem to care, but unfortunately, the vibe stops there. The staff always seems asleep at the wheel with no sense of urgency. I?ve waited over 10 minutes for a plain black coffee more than once when there is no line, no complex order? just coffee. When you ask about the delay, you?re met with indifference and never an apology. I want to supp
Loved the vibes here. And I had Nutella latte here, loved it!????
I stop by all the time with my two daschunds on their daily walk to doggy daycare. I just love the atmosphere and aesthetic. Jonah is the best barista ????
Lovely atmosphere, busy but not chaotic. It?s full of other hard workers who want a quiet place to read or work on their computers. Really hard to find seating!! Very busy! They have a ?day old pastry? section for discounted prices. I had the Ipsento Latte which had cayenne in it. Delicious.
This cafe is a hidden gem and a big hit with my runner friend who stops by along the 606. I tried the Ipsento latte which adds great flavor with honey and cayenne. Ordered it iced, but came out hot. But then realized it probably tastes a lot better hot, so I will have to come back in the winter. It?s always great to see a cafe own a flavor and build a brand around it. super cool and would come back again for sure.
Ipsento 606 is a total gem in the area. Whether you?re looking for a killer cup of coffee during the day or a craft cocktail in the evening, they?ve got you covered. I stopped by recently for a latte (spent about $5) and then came back later for a cocktail?both were top-notch. The coffee is rich and smooth, made from high-quality beans, and the drinks at night are just as impressive. The vibe is super cozy and welcoming, with a laid-back, trendy atmosphere. Definitely a spot I?ll keep coming back to, especi
I adore this place and would say that this is one of my favorite coffee shops in Chicago imho. Very chill vibes, excellent coffee, friendly staff, great location right on Milwaukee and next to the 606. This is a fantastic place to work at or meet up with friends, with lots of seating. Lots of bike parking outside. Also, great wallpaper in the bathrooms!!
Was looking for a nice coffee shop in the city for breakfast and good coffee. After looking up many places, I decided on Ipsento 606. I made the right choice! They make all their syrups, pastries, and sandwiches. I went with a few friends, and everything we had was delicious! I was able to customize my sandwich and drink to my liking without any issues (Western sandwich and ipsento drink). One of my friends got tea that was very good and the other got the 606 sandwich and the Chaggacino. I really liked the
Hip coffee joint at one of the 606 entrances. Fault standard menu, but they have some unique pastry offerings, especially the miniature donuts. Later in the day they do serve beer and there are sandwiches as well.
I visited this coffee shop yesterday and had a really disappointing experience. I placed an order for two drinks?mine and my boyfriend?s?and waited off to the side after one of the drinks came out. A few minutes passed and my name wasn?t called again, but there was a cup just sitting on the counter. Unsure if it was ours, my boyfriend politely asked one of the baristas, a woman with pink eyebrows, what kind of drink it was. Her reaction was shockingly unprofessional. Instead of simply answering the questio
Had a great visit to Ipsento! The park next door is beautiful and they take full advantage of this with their big open window to the outside. We enjoyed our donuts and coffee, but if you?re not willing to pay the higher prices, go elsewhere! The plexi glass at the cash register made it hard to speak with the employee, but they were nice enough. Pricey and a little uppity of a vibe, too.
I visited this caf? last Sunday and was greeted by a friendly cashier/barista who engaged in some lighthearted sports talk because I was wearing my Detroit Lions hoodie. It was quite amusing! I ordered a small vanilla cappuccino with oat milk, and it was delicious. Feeling a bit Parisian, I also ordered a croissant. It had been years since my last visit, but I was glad I went on Sunday!
Didn?t have cutie donuts today because it was post Thanksgiving Black Friday and the place was packed with visitors tourists and in-laws from out of town? still great coffee and vibe.
I came in on a Thursday morning in December and the vibe was wonderful -- good music and very warm and cozy. My coffee was beautiful and you can tell the great care the baristas put in to their drinks. Such a convenient spot and nice place. Will definitely be back!!!
First time at this cafe, tried The Ipsento Latte and I must say it?s one of the best lattes I have had in my lifetime! So smooth and creamy with just the rite type of strong taste of the espresso! Definitely recommend this cafe If you are ever in the wicker/buck area.
Cozy coffee shop with amazing hot chocolate and non-trivial pastries. With a lot of lite, comfy chairs, and couches. Soft ambient music plays in the background.
Stopped by due to rain, didn't get too much aside from a matcha latte and a croissant. Matcha latte was good, not sweet at all which is a plus for me but might be a negative for others. Croissant was soft and buttery, couldn't really ask for more. Would definitely stop by again and get some food if I'm ever in the city. Would love to try out their donuts next time but they were out at the time.
I?ve been trying cappuccinos around the area and decided to give this one a try. The barista kept pausing to gossip so it took twice as long to make the drink. I was hoping for a pretty design since it?s part of the reason I get cappuccinos in the first place but it came out blah. The taste was decent, good bite to it but also kind of mediocre compared to other cafes in that neighborhood.
The most slow service in a coffee shop I ever been and I say this from three different experiences. They have zero rush to serve. I would love to take a video so you can see
I love the ambiance of this cafe, they?re open late and have community events and it?s a fantastic location. The pastries and quiches are fantastic. I want to like it so bad but their coffee is consistently bad. They?ve burnt the milk in nearly every cappuccino or latte I?ve ordered from here. I just don?t understand.
One of the coolest coffee shops in Wicker park. Coffee is amazing and they have mineral water on tap
Lovely spot for coffee! I always order rich, whole milk lattes and Ipsento doesn?t disappoint. I wish their food options were more varied; however, they do have tiny donuts. That?s important. Can be a little chilly inside. A few doors down from Zen Yoga Garage so grab a coffee after a sweaty session!
As a not-so-happy customer, I?ll say the place had a nice ambiance with plenty of seating, and the coffee tasted fine. However, the presentation was sloppy, with spills on the side, and the temperature was off since it was poured into a cold mug. Other places warm the mug first, but that wasn?t the case here, even though it wasn?t busy. What really made the experience uncomfortable was the loud, non-working staff members hanging around behind the bar. Even as I write this, they?re obnoxiously loud?louder t
Good location for a quick stop off the street, transit, or the trail. Seating is good and the use of the park area between the shop and the trail is perfect for kids to jump around and play in. Service is fairly quick with a decent amount of menu items. I had an iced Ipsento latte with oat milk and was impressed. My wife had a nitro cold brew from tap and she liked it as well.
Definitely the best coffee shop I have ever been to! Calm, relaxing place with AMAZING coffee! Plenty spots inside and if you don?t want to seat inside you have a small park outside. All in all - great coffee!
This is definitely going to be one of my go to?s. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The nutella late is divine! I recommend it both hot and iced. Love how close it is to the trail.
Great coffee. Lovely location. Beautiful coffee machines. Great milk selection. AND the cutest, tastiest little handmade doughnuts in Chicago! Take a stroll along the 606 and stop off here for a caffeine hit!
I've visited this place a few times, either walking by the 606 or right after yoga since it's just walking distance from both. The lattes are great, a bit of too much foam on one, but overall amazing. As for the mini donuts, they were also good and are of different flavors to try; they are prepackaged, so they are ready to just take. The place is well decorated, clean and the preparing area is big, two people were working and one kind of. I got everything i ordered, it was correct and in good time.
I got the Brazilian blend drip coffee. It was full body and had a deep choclately tone to it. More than a hint of sweetness aftertaste. I?m not a fan of columbian beans in general so I was surprised by this. The oat milk latte and americano both had some hint of Asian-flavoring (like soy sauce and sesame oil). Whatever espresso beans they used to make this were insane.
Ipsento has become a regular stop for me, and I usually grab a latte and one of their many delicious sandwiches. I particularly enjoy The Western Sandwich, which features a combination of tomato, cheddar, basil aioli, and a fried egg on a buttery croissant. Ipsento's speedy service and high-quality coffee are also noteworthy. Overall, I would rate Ipsento a 4.4 out of 5, making it a top choice for anyone seeking a satisfying coffee and sandwich experience.
It was my first visit so I went with the 2 menu items listed as the ?best sellers? ? the Ipsento latte & the western. Great choices. It?s a real chill vibe. The customer service isn?t overly helpful but I enjoyed watching the baristas make these tasty lattes. And it?s right at an entrance of the 606 trail so it?s a great location to visit.
A beautifully crafted cappuccino, in an industrial coffee shop with stunning photographs for sale over an exposed brick wall. Great ambience/chill vibes but lacks comfy seats with backs.
Absolutely great atmosphere with great seating and wfh space. Everything you could want in a coffee shop however I found $6.79 pretty expensive for a regular latte.
Heard a lot of good stuff about this place so i went to check it out. Staff was polite and friendly, seats next to the windows have a really nice view of a park and 606 trail. I gotta say, this place is on more expensive side. Cortado with whole milk was over 5 dollars.
This place was my GO TO. I appreciated everything about it however soon after their renovation the staff also seemed to change. I went in for an iced matcha and waited for 30 MINUTES as I watched the baristas chat a by the machine, slowly pushing out orders. I?m okay with waiting on a busy afternoon however I had to go up to them TWICE to ask about my order which they kept getting wrong. They were clearly distracted and not paying attention at the time of ordering and when I corrected them. I got a mid $7.5
Ipsento offers a great variety of specialty lattes. The interior is very cozy and I love the window seats with a view of the 606 trail head. For those seeking a place to study or work, there's plenty of seating available.
I?ve been going to this coffee shop for about two years, it has been one of my absolute favorites. But they?ve made some really disappointing changes recently that really make me question if I?ll continue going here. The coffee is luckily still great, but they?ve entirely stopped making the mini donuts and their standard (amazing) SANDWICHES!!! ?? The Western sandwich was THE reason I would pick this coffee spot over others time and again. I tried one of the new, premade, refrigerated sandwiches they have
I love this place leaving a nice review, but why tf do you have 4-5 people behind the counter and also have dirty tables? Grab a rag do a once over every 15-30 minutes, it?s easy trust me I?ve done it! All love
A splendid coffee shop with a welcoming staff. The espresso is good and bourbon donut is cute considering how small it is. Paid a little over $5 altogether. A good place to hangout.
Y?all never have matcha in stock. I?ve fought to find parking, waited in line and gotten to the register - on THREE separate occasions and was told, ?sorry we?re actually out of Matcha.? I will not waste my time ever again.
Stopped by this place after another hot chocolate bar was closed for the holidays and I must say Wow! We ordered an Iced Nutella Latte, Basil Mint Mocha, Hot Chocolate, Vanilla Latte, and a dozen donuts. Iced Nutella Latte - I was very surprised! Often these drinks come out too sweet, but this stuck the right balance without being very bitter. Basil Mint Mocha - You can really taste the basil! Recommended as a nice warm drink. Hot Chocolate - Rich and creamy, yum! Vanilla Latte - One of the best lattes
I visited from out of town, and Ipsento was definitely on my list after researching the coffee scene. Further, it was the best coffee I had in Chicago and was an excellent cafe experience overall. Nestled in a vibrant and transforming neighborhood next to the 606 urban trail (which I must assume is the cafe's namesake), this is an eminently attractive as well as comfortable space that can accommodate wider array of tastes than most cafes I can think of. Looking for an iced and/or milky caffeine fix while g
their nutella oat latte is so so good i love the atmosphere and the views
Love this coffee shop! Their summer orange sparkling americano was delicious! And baristas very friendly and personable. 5/5!
This is a really cute coffee shop with a bar feel too it. You can have drinks here or work with a laptop and coffee ... Or have an alcoholic coffee drink. The service here is phenomenal. Not pushy just really sweet and friendly. Prices are pretty reasonable. They have a great beer selection and make wonderful siding cocktails. The quesadilla is pretty boring, but that's the only bad thing.
the date bar was so good! i was expecting a cliff bar but was pleasantly surprised with this bar that tasted more like peanut butter and dark chocolate. 10/10 recommend. i also ordered a matcha with oat milk that was very good. free wifi is also a plus
This is my favorite coffee shop, but the lids do not fit on the drinks. The lid kept popping off on my walk home. I?ve experienced this every time I?ve gone there
Beautiful park outside their large open windows. 2 inch donuts are yummy, and their espresso selection is really unique! Great atmosphere inside and out.
Best latte ever the Ipsento Latte (cayenne; honey; homemade coconut milk) but god damn worst service ever. They have an online ordering website they never update; hence is never usable. The line no matter how early in the morning you get there is ridiculous. Even if it isn?t fully packed like usual in here, there?s always only two people working it seems like here??? Like one for food one for barista and it?s just so freaking slow. They NEED to hire more people AND update their online ordering system. For O
I travelled from way far to try this place and it was worth it. Very quiet and ambient cafe overlooking a nice small park. Latte selection is pretty nice. I had the Cardamom Rose Latte. Service is great! Must visit if in the area.
This has got to be one of the best all around coffee shops in Chicago. I?ve had the chance to try just about everything on the menu coffee wise and I?ve never been disappointed. Their espresso is phenomenal and probably my favorite in Chicago. If you are a coffee lover, I would also highly recommend any of their pourover options. It is so evident that they pay an incredible amount of attention to detail in order to craft the best drink possible. A cool perk of this coffee shop is that it also offers a full
Honestly the best cup of coffee I've had in years. This mocha is out of this world. The place has a really relaxing vibe, coffee came out quick, nice music, clean bathroom. A+ coffee shop. Wish we had something of this caliber in the sw suburbs.
Excellent location right by 606 Cute interior Busy The coffee was not too memorable.
I got an iced latte and an assortment of mini donuts. The coffee was decent and the donuts were delicious. Free WiFi but make sure to ask for the password. Great open space and chill vibes makes it a great place to work from. My only minor peeve was the music. It was pretty loud for me. But might not be for others.
Great location - perfect stop off the 606 for a tasty coffee from very friendly staff. They also have a canine hitching post out front, which is a great way to safely leave your dog while you pop in for insanely fun and delicious mini donuts!
Cute vibe, but was turn off by the customer service. Coffee was okay, and the premade sandwich was fine.
Busy little spot in a gentrified neighborhood along the walk path through the city... Great creative coffee drinks and a few bites to eat on the menu. Wonderful staff and employees are very accommodating
Edit 6 months later: Yes still 5 stars and like a fine wine Ipsento gets better with age. I love seeing familiar faces working there and their espressos seems to have balanced out into a well dialed experience. A Chicago Staple. ______________ This is a spot where Baristas will go to. Industry people can be fickle but I've ran into so many people here and have had some truly great times at Ipsento. *Clap* Great coffee and the staff is fantastic. When the espresso is dialed it's in the top 3 in Chicago.
The coffee, food and pastries are all so unbelievably good. They just really are not very nice or polite compared to any other coffee shop I have visited. My online order did not get made just now and after 30 minutes, I finally said something. I had been standing there waiting the entire time and I should?ve said something sooner but for whatever reason it did not get made. The barista was nice but also took the opportunity to tell me that I was choosing the wrong almond milk button in my order and need t
It was my first time going and the atmosphere was lively and friendly. You can sit at the bar and drink your coffee. I had the draft oat latte and it was good and not too sweet. If you want to drink outside the park is right next door!
Holy smokes. What an amazing spot. Delicious espresso and coffees, all brewed by the nicest and kindest baristas in the WORLD. Do yourself a favor and make a a visit in the evening as well, when Ipsento transforms into a BAR. Yes. With alcohol. Stellar rotating beers and craft cocktails. JEEZ.
Great venue with very tasty food and beverages. I?d absolutely give more than 4 stars, but my first experience left me slightly underwhelmed given the plethora of third wave options in the area.
Love this place! Wonderful location next to the 606. Prices reflect the needs of a local coffee shop, so they?re higher than a Dunkin or McDonalds. The artisanal donuts are delicious!
Holy moly I?ve given this place like 15 chances because it?s close to my Workout studio and it?s cute inside, but they cannot deliver a cappuccino or latte in under 15 minutes, every single time I have to wait and beg them to remember my order. Thrd across the street has much more appropriate timing and tastier.
Great coffee, terribly slow service. No matter the time of day it will take close to 20 min to get your latte. Don?t try to beat the system and order ahead online because their system is archaic they will lose the ticket and make you wait another 20 min.
The espresso is some of the best I've had in Chicago and the mini-donuts are very good with a firm outside but a nice soft inside. Ipsento also stays open later than a lot of other coffee shops which is a huge plus.
I'm rating this shop at 4-stars, just because I don't have enough information to fully evaluate it (I've only been once). The only time I tried Ipsento 606, I was able to have a Guatemalan pourover. The menu offerings for pourover that day were a Honduran and a Guatemalan. Relative to my own tastes, these offerings represent something of a Hobson's choice, so it's difficult for me to say how I would have evaluated the shop had I been able to try to some of their other coffees (coffees that are a little clos
I was walking in 606 trailer and stopped by for coffee. It?s cute place, and has kind staff. I love the place inside, but unfortunately there?s no dine in.
Absolutely love the vibe of this coffee shop. The space is pretty sleek with plenty of study spots on a mid-Saturday morning. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I tried out the Ipsento latte, which was really flavorful as promised. I've been told the late night scene is also quite fun.
Drove from afar with high expectations and I've seen this coffee shop highly rated. The employees were very busy chatting with each other. I ordered a vanilla latte but didn't have enough vanilla in it or any at all. Instead of remaking the drink they gave me more vanilla to add to it. It was also very hard for my husband to get their attention in the midst of their chattering. The drink also tasted lukewarm. My husband's Ipsento was good however with a nice punchy flavor and was hot. All in all I'd say it
I love the Ipsento latte with the spice and sweet, and the new store has a great vibe with the metal ceiling and busy street outside. Always have loved their roasts.
Large coffee shop adjacent to the 606. They have garage style doors that open up for nice days and great coffee. Friendly service and good WiFi.
my favorite coffee shop in chicago! Ipsento 606 can easily be the cozy coffee place to sit and catch up with a friend, or the busy bee hive for all things coffee and chatter. It's very chill, no matter how busy it is. The staff is incredible, never seeming to be rushed--instead making each cup of coffee with intention.
Good stuff. Espresso little too strong in taste. Donuts are nice as they taste more like cakes. Great place to have a drink or work.
A great local coffee joint in a great neighborhood. Grab your drink and head right outside to sit in the grass if the weather allows. Lots of space inside to spread out as well.
This shop is exactly the place for a good and friendly coffee or drink! They let us stay after close and told us all about Chicago and the different beers! Adequate seating and not a big crowd. Definitely check it out!
Food was good, but the staff forgot about our sandwich order so we were stuck waiting for 30 min after I tipped too. What happened to the days of throwing in a little freebie for waiting so long? This is exactly why people don?t tip anymore either. This place has become too busy and staff is wildly overwhelmed and slow moving.
15$ for a half of a wet sandwich that was made 3 days ago
The coffee is great! I am a fan of their original cafe but the view of the 606 is superb! Also, it is two blocks closer to where I live. A little more upscale if you are looking for that. I do miss the sandwiches that were made at the original cafe and if I am looking to snag the Thoreau it is not there.
