Hurts Donut

Friendly staff, good donuts, and fun atmosphere. My only wish, and it's not a complaint, is that they had more whipped cream-filled donuts. The staff will usually fill a donut with whipped cream if I ask though. It's a must-visit when I come back home.

The donuts were some of the best I've ever had. And idk why people are complaining about prices?? Up in Minneapolis they'd be $5-$6 a piece. My favorite was definitely the strudel one. Wish I had gotten more. Staff was SO friendly and helpful too.

This was a unique experience for me because I typically do not eat donuts. This setup was a not the standard bakery setup one would expect to see. They had an extremely large selection of donuts that with random things on the top of them like oreos to apple slices. I personally just got a regular glazed donut. Glaze is the best seller and they are always out!! I called first and was told it was a whole tray of them. 10 minutes later I arrive and they are sold out. Hurts in Iowa City keeps glaze handy.

Donuts were inconsistent. 2 of them were great (but very sweet), apple fritter was flat and super greasy (inedible). Tried the gluten free donut (preference) and the aftertaste was very off-putting. We threw away more than half of what we purchased.

Donuts are great. Staff is incredibly rude, entitled, and incompetent. They also only make donuts maybe once a day in the morning and by the evening most of the flavors are gone and they don?t make more until the next morning. As a 24hr business this is no way to do things.

Beautiful place, terrific theming and atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food. We had a s'mores donut and a s'mores iced latte. Both were yummy but not overly special. (Especially for the price!) For a fun dessert or treat out, I recommend it, but not for your everyday donut shop.

Make sure to call for your orders for custom doughnuts. we have had 2 different occasions that orders haven't been done right or not at all,even after calling the day before to make sure it was it was being done. both orders well over a hundred dollars each as well.

A doughnut wonderland of sweet and unique treats! Everything was big, fresh and delicious. The selection was wide, with varieties you probably won't find anywhere else. If you're in the neighborhood, do yourself a favor and stop by. They're open, and you'll be glad you did!

Since my all-time favorite donut shop (Donutland) is no longer in Waterloo/Cedar Falls, I am grateful that we now have Hurts. They have a wide selection of donuts for either breakfast or dessert. When I go to a show at the adjacent River Place Plaza Amphitheater, I will usually grab a meal from a street vendor or the nearby pizzeria, and then stop into Hurts for one of their scrumptious donuts. So glad to have this next to a popular outdoor entertainment venue.

What a delicious variety of donuts. I had a hard time selecting only a couple. This time I walked away with the cherry cheesecake, key lime pie, and blueberry crumb, and all were amazing.

My favorite donut shop in town! They're usually open 24/7 so it's a great place to go if you're like me and stay up past 2 am. Always plenty of options to choose from, they even have their own drink menu.

A true average experience for the products served/price paid. That being said I think the selection is quite large and gives the customer a lot of options. The location is easy to get in and out of for the most part and has been clean when I have stopped in. Staff was helpful enough but a bit rushed. I have been in roughly 3 times since they opened normally get 6 donuts and a apple fritter. Can't say enough about these donuts! Not only are they delicious, but they're HUGE, reasonably-priced, and they have a very large selection - with some crazy flavors (Fruity Pebbles on donuts?... YES!) The staff is super friendly. They're open 24 hours a day. (That's right, you can get your donut craving satisfied at any time of day!) Amazing service! I went yesterday and the girl working was incredibly nice and helpful. I ordered 2 cream filled long johns, pretty standard donuts right? Stopped in to get some donuts of course, the maple bacon long John is definitely hands down number one to get with your order. I got several other flavored donuts, the staff were very helpful and respectful. I am definitely going to be stopping again!

Usually pretty happy, but not today. We had certificates for 5 free donuts. I also purchased an additional dozen. I asked for 4 white donuts with chocolate frosting and peanuts. I got 4 white donuts with white frosting and peanuts. Spent $34 and a 1/3 of them were wrong. Sad day!!??

I came into hurts this morning and I am very disappointed in the customer service. This is the second time I?ve been in recently with poor service. The staff does not acknowledge customers when they come in. I saw multiple customers leave due to being ignored. The case was being cleaned with no one assisting or noticing customers. I have had 2 experiences with Hurts Donut Co. and both have been great. I shopped in store once and ordered a GF donut. The cashier said they were just out of the over and let us choose how we wanted them decorated. I also ordered some for an upcoming birthday party and my daughter wanted specific decorations. The woman on the phone was so patient and helped me figure out which decorations I was looking for. I will definitely be back for more!

The employees are so kind. All of the little details are amazing. Such as: a little Hot-wheels-sized ambulance that is an emergency donut vehicle and how the handle on one of their mugs is a set of brass knuckles. I?m telling all of my friends about it.

Disappointed donut eater. They have been out of donut holes for the last 2 weeks that I have been there to buy a bunch. After they suggested we call first, we did! The person on the phone said they had plenty and didn't take my name for the 30 I wanted. The doughnuts are fabulous, of course. A little bit pricey, but they're big & very specialized, so we're willing to pay a lil more for them. The fritters are $5.50, but they're gigantic. The best deal is to buy a dozen.

My wife and I really enjoyed the atmosphere! Nothing like ordering donuts while listening to 90's hip hop!! Anyway, the donuts were great. The Bavarian Cream was deliciously prepared and went well with a chocolate milk. Check it out if you've never been. Went in and bought 6 doughnuts. Line moved quickly, the place was clean, and the staff was friendly. The doughnuts were tasty. I can see why some people would say they're too sweet, but I only felt that way after eating two. In other words, it was the right amount of sweet to me. I can't review the drinks yet, but I plan on visiting again and trying some. I'll update the review once I've tried some of their drinks.

I had the gentleman behind the counter to select two dozen for me, to take along to high stress meetings. He picked a nice variety and the recipients seemed to appreciate them. The store was clean and the service was prompt. There was plenty of free parking around the store. It is located before the massive construction zoo that turns into 57 in Cedar Falls, so you're okay there. The doughnuts are visibly stunning, but very sweet... because they're doughnuts...

The donuts are way too sweet for me. Maybe suggest to reduce sugar in them. I prefer the plain ol donuts.

We were excited to see that Hurts was coming our way! I checked the website and FB page about pre-ordering and how this all worked. There was no instruction or explanation for how the "emergency donut vehicle" sells the product. We thought we would be able to choose our dozen. Nope. We hurrily walked away with $30 in product- as dude was clearly annoyed that we weren't aware if how this deal worked. Not worth it.... sorry. Wanted to like it.

They don't make it clear which donuts are part of the "Dirty Dozen" or not. Went specifically to get a special themed donut only to be told it wasn't part of their dirty dozen offering when there were some blended in exactly with donuts that were. If you are going to have exclusions, maybe DON'T put the excluded donuts in with those that are and instead put them all on their own side. And maybe don't say "you pick" on your menu! I came in looking for a Bavarian creme donut and they were out of them. Without blinking an eye, the donut seller became donut maker and she joyfully went back and made me two from scratch. Ok so I usually come in here for my fav donut The Homer. Which I love to death but tonight I ordered an energy drink with Guava and Mango. The drink looked wrong so I asked her the flavors she put in it, she didn?t know which ones she put in it. She asked me to try it which is valid but I gagged. Mother?s Day, waited in line for 30 minutes to choose from 6 donuts. Was told they didn?t expect to be this busy today.... Mothers Day and there are no restaurants open. Horrible experience. Ordered cream filled donuts a couple times. Got charged 18 for dirty dozen which FYI, menu states "you pick". Third time I went in, ordered cream filled donuts. Hurts Donut in in downtown Cedar Falls, Iowa, is very clean and has a huge variety of donuts for everyone to chose from. I gave them a four star as they are not our favorite donut shop in the Cedar Valley.

Hurts Donuts exceeds my expectations on what I think a donut shop should be. It's clean, the folks who work there are quite friendly, there's a good vibe & their donuts are phenomenal. They have a lot to choose from & their donuts are scrumptious. What more could you want from a donut shop?

The place was oddly busy. I say oddly because I have been to probably 20 donut shops in my life and I have never once seen a line. Smelled good and looked clean when I walked in (but it is brand new also). From this point I had very high hope's of a delicious melt in your mouth donut. The line did not take long about 7 minutes. There is a great selection of donuts with many frosting and filling combinations. They have plenty of drink options for everybody. The prices are reasonable. Our family got three donuts, a huge twist roll, and two drinks for $12.

Such good donut selection. They are so good, too. we did a six pack and we picked I wasn't unsatisfied with any of our choices. My favorite so far oreo cheesecake & boyfriends favorite so far was lemon pie (both were ahhhmazing)!!!

Nice customer service, cool merch, and awesome doughnuts! The cheesecake is my favorite personally! The doughnuts here are much fresher tasting then other locations that I?ve been to. I only have two small complaints: the frosting/design work is a bit sloppy and the Nutella doughnut is definitely not Nutella. It?s just basic chocolate icing.
