Huck Finn Restaurant

The coconut donut used to be my favorite here?NOT anymore! I got a crumbly, dry outer donut with a disgusting raw dough middle. Biting into a raw donut middle is pretty gross, especially next to a stale dry outer shell. I felt hopeful to hold on to the nostalgic memories of my mother taking us here on the weekends. I even remember the waitress that remembered my mom. I tipped her with love, even though she only brought us water. We likely won?t be back.

Best restaurant/donut shop ever. Everyone is so friendly and Bill was great as always.

Delicacies abound. From the Nesquik chocolate milk to the homemade chicken soup. I cannot beat this place. The fresh coffee was off the chain. It even had those little prairie farms, half-and-half cups, waiting for me. Hash browns extra crispy Egged fluffy and warm. Tocino (bacon) crispy for my kid. Egg omelet was magical and filled with veggies and queso. That?s cheese in Spanish. Cholula was on tap of course. Wonderful service. Free parking. Great little family restaurant. Our server was Miss Debbie and she was so amazing. This was our 1st time here and it wont be our last. The food was delicious the service was out of this world excellent The donuts when you come in just screams eat 1 of each. Highly recommend.

The food is delicious here each time I go and service . But this time i went we were eating and the cashier girls were being obnoxiously loud and when checking out the girl with the long hair and glasses was rolling her eyes and saying things to herself while Checking me out like it was a bother to her that I was interrupting her convo. She was grabbing the card and giving it them to me semi aggressive. Never experienced this at all usually the front cashiers are nice and never had a problem of the years

This Huck Finn has been here forever. I've been coming to this Huck Finn since I was a baby, my mom would come to his Huck Finn, and my grandparents would come here too. There's not many choices left in the city for diner-type food but Huck Finn checks all the boxes. The prices are reasonable, the restaurant is always clean, and there is ample parking. 1st time visiting and I'm looking forward to returning. Felt like home with the delicious aroma and buzzing energy around the place. The Belgium Waffles are AMAZING! Surely going back for those. Also enjoyed a veggie skillet with substituted cheese for feta and added bacon. The meal was hot, fresh, tasty, and worth recommending. My partner enjoyed a veggie omelet with crispy hashbrowns.

Me and my sister had a bad experience here with a waitress, she too busy talking to a guy in front I had to ask for my orange 3xs and she didn?t bother to ask me or my sister if the food was ok. Which the food wasn?t okay at all. I really felt like she on purpose left my food and my sister to get cold I?ve never had cold food here until this experience. The food here was good. The service wasn't the best. Our server was very slow, and her face showed she didn't want to be there. To start off we get to the restaurant and are seated I noticed that the table is dirty with spilled sugar I just assumed they refilled it and spilled a little. I swept it off to the side. Absolutely amazing! Food was fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, and more importantly they were patient with us as we were indecisive of our meal options. The staff is a bit rude, there was a waiter complaining about having to walk around because a bigger gentleman sitting in the aisle, and the only reason I notice was because she made the comment 3 times. Just imagine if he heard that and she wasn?t on the smaller side btw. Then the manger was too busy to even listen.

Overpriced "food" with zero taste. Really bland and horrible. And the most overcooked omelette I've had in my life. I guess someone told the cooks the pancakes, hashbrowns, and eggs should all look identical.

Just visited Huck Finn after 37 year absence. My wife and I used to go here while we were dating. It was just down the street from her home. Place was very clean, had great service, and still had donuts and a full sit down menu.

Overall my dining experience was OK. Food was ok nothing special, service wasn?t bad but wasn?t good, just typical mom and pops restaurant. Food was of low quality for the prices for dinner entrees it seem expensive, but dinner plates comes with soup and dessert so there?s that. The restaurant need to be more clean, our table didn?t seem clean and had to ask to be cleaned. Lamps above tables were filled with dust and very visible. I would probably come back again but there?s better options.

I came to visit my siblings from California and I finally got to eat at the infamous huckfinn?s! Food was delicious. I had the cinnamon roll French toast with a side of potatoes and sausage. It was delicious and filling. The coffee kept coming and it was so good! I can see why my siblings have been coming here for the past 20 years!

Paid $48 for 2 skillets that barely had meat on them and very little potatoes. We called asking if we can return the order bc we were not satisfied and did not touch the food and she refused to refund and was rude to us on the phone. Definitely not worth the price. Small portions for the price.

The food here is always great never an issue with that it's the service that is getting ridiculous it seems every time we go it get worse and worse. Hopefully they do something about that so wen terurn to our favorite restaurant.

It has friendly service and fast service. The food is good but never order the Friday special of catfish broil. I was very disappointed cause with one small size catfish fillet. It had no salt or seasonings. It was terrible. Worst catfish fillet that ever had. Breakfast is is better.

I mainly eat here with my girlfriend and her family, the food is good I do love the soup the give which I think is pretty good and the rolls are good too, add some strawberry jam. I got a couple items out of the different visits and I would probably recommend the fried steak and pancakes, those are probably the ones I'd probably choose, the doughnuts are also good I would definitely recommend trying one too

Bridgeport staple, great place to get food any time of day, parking, service and good food that's fast! Only downside is the nasty bathrooms and the prices could be better but I still recommend the breakfast specials.

Food is just all put to unprofessionally on the plat spoke to the supervisor demtri because my mother's pancakes were put on top the of her eggs which where sunny side up and bacon. And according to him that's how Becky's special are served.. as well as my club sandwich where the club was put in the coleslaw and fries all over.

It's ok The donuts or pastries are good but the atmosphere is dated and kind of dirty. I would definitely recommend for a nice donut Sunday or Saturday if you want to pick up as a treat but eat at home ... Place was packed so a lot of people don't see it my way !!

We went after work that night, I got a cinnamon roll, Jelly Donut, and a plain donuts and they were good. I got two for my friend to take home, she ate hers in the car and my roll was so big I couldn't eat it all I saved the rest for that morning..lol

What a gem in the city. Ordered the steak and eggs and everything was perfect, steak was cooked perfect, hash browns and eggs were seasoned to perfection. The side of pancakes was also very tasty. Service was fast, and had that classic diner atmosphere. You gotta get the donuts too, they?re dangerously sweet and fried to a beautiful golden brown. Will gladly be back!

Came for the donuts, which were great and I highly recommend..... but then I sat down for lunch. Not a good choice. There's a dozen other diners like this in Chicago, and they're all either better or cheaper. Even the generic frozen fries weren't done right.

Keke obviously doesn?t like blacks in her neighborhood and KEKE needs hands put on her for making me feeling the way she did. I walked in and I saw a sign that said WAIT FOR HOSTESS TO SEAT YOU .. When I initially got here the hostess named KEKE looked past me and offered menus to the patrons behind me also offered to seat them she completely ignored me and I obviously walked in before
