I feel so mixed with this review ?? The bad: the atmosphere is not okay. A kiddo needed to use the restroom, and the woman said, "be careful of the grease bin." It's was a wee bit shocking. I know that frying donuts requires a lot of oil, but you keep the discarded oil barrel (in a wagon) in the teeny, tiny bathroom?? Even though it's used oil, it seems like a health hazard/complaint to me?? It just feels very wrong. I'm no health code worker, but my 2 cents would be to just say there's no public bathroom,

The one star is only for the workers being pleasant. $24 for 6 donuts is insane. On top of that, a few of the donuts had raw dough in the middle. The picture is of the raw donut my three-year-old was eating. Will not be returning.

I feel mixed with this review. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. A dozen donuts was just under $40. We really enjoyed the jelly filled and Boston Creme donuts. The horseshoe glazed and maple were also good. I would not recommend the cake donuts. They're $5 each and extremely dense. We couldn't make our way through them. The interior is a little rough as well. I think we will return eventually for the filled and glazed donuts

LOVE Horseshoe Donuts!!!! The donuts are worth every penny! Always get extra because everyone loves these donuts. The donuts are such a special treat for employees and people always want to bring a horseshoe or pony home..they say for their kids, lol! I do this for birthdays and special treats. They will even let you call ahead to order the day before so they are all ready for you to pick up.If you?ve never been here you need to add them to your ?To Go To? list!

Finally made it in to horseshoe donuts (their hours made it hard for our family to come), and it was good, but not great. Big, fun donuts, and fun saddle seats for the kids to sit on. The simple horseshoes were our favorites (though our girls loved the frosted horses) - everything else felt too sweet. The place itself was a bit messy and disorganized, and we felt a bit uncomfortable about using the bathroom and didn?t see any available drinking fountains.

I should have listened to the reviews and skipped this place, but I wanted to try. The donuts are huge, expensive, and undercooked. The parts that were edible were tasty, but it's annoying to have to pick through a donut to make sure I wasn't eating raw dough. Staff was pleasant and helpful. They looked to have a good assortment still even mid morning. The place has zero atmosphere, it looks like you walked into a back alley kitchen. Overall, not anywhere near worth the money. If they figure out their raw d

The donuts were good. They had some decent variety and plenty in stock still, despite coming later in the day. The donuts we got were glazed all the way around, so they were very sweet, and personally, I'm not a huge fan of overly sweet. They were still good. Service was kind enough. They were a little higher priced. I would come back though.

We always love treating ourselves to Horseshoe for extra special mornings! Their donuts are delicious and yes, priced higher than your average donut but that's also because one Horseshoe donut can easily satisfy 3 adults! My brother is in the air force and stationed overseas - he loves these so much that I actually vacuum seal and ship him some every now and then and it's his favorite package to receive! 10/10 on the blueberry cake. My one recommendation for an area of improvement is just overall cleanlines

Amazing donuts! They are unique and delicious. We have found donuts in CO to be very dry. We even went to Krispy Kreme as they are amazing in the south. They weren't very good. They have a unique selection and the staff is friendly. Definitely recommend! Best donuts in CO. Support local businesses!

I don?t know if this is the norm for their donuts but it was my first time here - they were either overcooked or something was off because I look at the other pictures and don?t see similar donuts to what I got. And I couldn?t even eat the bottom of the blueberry donut because it was hard like it had been out a couple days. The apple fritter was burnt in some spots. For these two donuts & 2 milks I paid $16 which I thought was odd but I thought because they were huge sizes the price was okay. I pulled the a

Donuts ?? are huge! The average person will only eat one, if that. I love donuts and have tried a bunch over the years. These aren?t bad donuts but not the best I?ve ever had. If you enjoy donuts and like to try to new places give them a try. These are some of the biggest donuts I?ve ever seen out in the wild.

Donuts are pretty good. We like to try different donut shops on our road trips and stopped in here passing through Monument. We tried 7 different types and would only recommend the blueberry fritter, raspberry filled and sour cream old fashioned. They were delicious! The other donuts were overly sweet or just okay. We were surprised that the maple bar had a cream filling as we would have preferred just a standard maple bar. The cream made it too sweet and took away from the classic flavor. Other reviews wer

Deliciously huge donuts. They have a good variety of donuts and some unusual ones. The only downside is the price. They are very expensive. One dozen donuts is equal to two dozen from Krispy Kreme. I can understand it is because of the large size of the donuts, but still they are donuts. The cost to make them is so minimal. Good for them though because they will be making money off of us. Hahahahaha.

Need to bribe a coworker? Want to bring the most popular dish to brunch? Have you done a really good job and deserve a treat? Horseshoe Donuts has you covered. I'm not big on doughnuts, myself, but I bring these to work and to social gatherings regularly. I give them as gifts and have piled them into a cake shape to serve at a birthday party. Every doughnut lover I know raves about Horseshoe's doughnuts, about how delicious they are. I appreciate that the unicorns and the Saturday doughnuts are adorable a

This place is unique and so delicious! Their donuts are huge! When I visit CO it's a must visit for me. Their apple cider and pumpkin spice (no, I am not a PSL GIRL!) are delicious! For kids or kiddies their yeast donuts are horse shaped or horseshoe shaped. They have a cookie monster designed as well as a springtime chick (peeps) one. This place is tucked away but well worth the visit!!!

Honestly the quality is unmatched. Totally EAST COAST QUALITY AND SIZE AND KNOWING THE OWNERS ARE FROM BOSTON MEANS THEY TAKE THAT SAME TYPE OF FOOD MENTALITY AND BRING IT TOO MONUMENT VERY SERIOUSLY!!! The donuts are literally out of this world. Cake batter has the perfect amount of crispness in every bite along with a center that has multiple layers of textures. Absolutely phenomenal. They have zero competition in the Colorado Springs region based on size and quality and weight. That?s the best money I?ve

A little pricy but very tasty and great vibes! Definitely a local shop with a rustic feel!

Came in for a couple dozen doughnuts this morning and I?ve been in a few times before. I judge all doughnut shops on their glazed yeast and this one is amazing! We have had several styles and all were equally great. They are huge too, you get your money?s worth!

Review for Apple Fritter Only. Rating based on Size, Quality of ingredients, Preparation, and Price. For a 0645 arrival there was still more than a rack remaining of these behemoths, but by my guess NLT 1030 on a weekend consider them sold out as these are the real deal. These dark brunette plate sized gut bombs will fuel your need to feed all day guaranteed. Size alone warrants its own bag as smaller inferior donuts would be piled together in a much smaller eco and waist friendly one. Yes size matters, bu

Stopped by for an Apple Fritter. Unfortunately they were all out but had one Chocolate Cherry Fritter left. It was fantastic! Perfect balance of sweetness 2hile still maintaining the essence of a Fritter. Highly recommend!

My favorite donut shop in ?Colorado Springs?. Family run local shop that has a fun partnership with Pikes Peak Brewing in using their beers to make a few of their donut specials. They make all the usuals plus a few unique options to choose from. My gotos are their fritters, blueberry cake and an apple cider donut in season. My favorite part of their location is they?re just off the Santa Fe trail in Monument leading to an increasing number of Donut Rides!

Quaint donut shop, really not meant for people to stay and eat. You just walk in and there is the display with random items stored in the front of the store where you might be able to put seating, if you wished. The donuts are delicious. The rest of the items (coffee, juices, etc) are just like you would get at the convenience store across the street. Better to bring your own coffee if you are a coffee snob. I would recommend for anybody to try them out, just plan on eating on the road or bring the goodie

Smells so good walking up. Hard to decide what to get because they all looked so yummy!! I started with the original glaze and it amazing. Definitely coming here again when I am craving a donut

Oversized donuts... I can't have more than a bite. But, damn, it's good.

Wow! Biggest donuts I've ever encountered! Opted for the apple fritters, and a chocolate and blueberry cake donuts. Delicious!

This is why you should support local businesses. This place is amazing. The donuts are huge, they are delicious, and worth every penny.

I finally found THEE donut shop that makes an Apple Fritter correctly. I apologize for not telling you I was on my motorcycle and needed a bag, but I was awestruck at your array of beautiful donuts. That is an art you are creating and it shows how much you love doing it. If you couldn?t tell, I am a first time customer. The next time I come up there from Fountain, I am bringing the vehicle so I can buy more than just two.

Fabulously delicious giant donuts. The fritter is my fav and one gets me two meals! Though I have tried most of the varieties without disappointment. Great job making REAL donuts!

Eat here if you want food poisoning. I ate 1/4 of a cinnamon roll before throwing it away, and now feel horribly ill. The business was unbelievably dirty and disorganized. We should have taken that as a sign to walk away but we promised our kids a treat. The unfriendly employee put our donuts on a DIRTY used tray before serving. BTW donuts are $3-$5 each. I honestly don?t understand the high ratings.

There truly must be a lot of Democratic yuppies in Colorado. The reviews against this business seem unwarranted by the "younger" generation. When visiting on vacation last summer I thought it was the most creative donut shop you will find. Nice hard-working people with ideas. Far as cleanliness that's everyone's opinion. And everyone these days most certainly has one.

Woot! I thought I didn?t like doughnuts, apparently I just have ridiculous standards for them and Horseshoe Doughnuts has set the bar. Wonderful flavor, sweet without being cloying about it with a good bite and plenty of toppings and fillings. The lady behind the counter greeted us with a smile and was tickled with our selections. Love a little place like this because they always have the best food. Worth a detour if you don?t live in town!

I ordered 2 dozen doughnuts, one coffee and 4 extra doughnuts and my bill was $99.00. I could of went to First Watch for three people and had entire meals.

These donuts are amazing! Really, you can't ask for any better. They are fancy. They are large. They taste great. The only problem is that you get what you pay for (meaning they cost a lot). Still, if you're looking for a great donut shop, this is the place.

My son had his 6th birthday party and the amazing staff made these dinosaur Donuts just for him! Went above and beyond! Thank you so much for making his day so special

Fresh and yummy! It was so good that I went back to get more the next morning. The donuts are huge and made fresh every day. Open daily from 6a to 2p per the permanent sign on the door.

Horseshoe Donuts are the best donuts we?ve ever had? and that?s a big statement to stand by! You can taste the quality within the first bite. Their apple fritters are amazing and again? the best we?ve ever had. Everyone was friendly and welcoming as well. 12/10!!

Stopped in this morning after a hike in the foothills. I got an old fashioned donut which I can safely say is the best version of this style of donut in all of Colorado. It was still hot from the fryer, freshly glazed and just an absolute delight to eat. Thank you for this! Keep it up!

Went there after seeing it was limited days and hours. So given that it was their Monday (they open Wednesday- Sunday) to see some more donuts around this time of day.. there was very limited selections, not even glazed donuts avaliable. When I asked about pricing, I was told every donut has its own individual price. Not even voodoo donuts or amys donuts or any other donut place refuse to have a half dozen price structure for sales. I'm disappointed I waited several weeks to try them just to walk out with n

What's sad about this place, especially after reading the reviews, is that there are enough positive reviews to keep them going, just as they are. The average person will see that 4 1/2 stars, stumble in, feel proud supporting a local business and then taste their $16 dollar experiment...and then they'll think "Why didn't we go to Dunkin?" It'll create in their temporary customers, or further enforce, that feeling of small businesses are so hit and miss, why even bother? There are a lot of places like this,

Amazing donuts. I stopped by early this morning while out for a ride and got 2 cake donuts. Probably the best cake donuts I've ever eaten. I'm looking forward to going back and trying some of their other donuts.

This place is disgusting and totally unkept looking everywhere. It?s a total mess inside I thought it out of business when I first walked in. Got 2 donuts just be nice that weren?t cooked right and weighed like 2 pounds each of dough. Based on the obvious neglect of the whole place I was actually scared to eat them and threw them away. Wasted almost $8. They have a broken old desk as the checkout counter. Kid working there didn?t even say anything when we walked in so service wasn?t great either. I literall

We have tried this place over and over again because once we had fresh donuts. Most of the time the donuts are overly sweet, old, and taste as if the frying oil has not been changed daily(producing a greasy taste). For the price you pay they should be fresh every day.

Donuts are exceptional but the place is a mess. This could be a wonderful highlight for monument but the baking trays are everywhere, there is no proper seating, adhoc counters set up. You just want to get out of there. Again the donuts are amazing.

I showed up because I prefer local shops over chains, but was really disappointed! I payed $11 plus tip for two donuts and six donut holes. The donuts are big, but that doesn?t matter if they?re oily enough to totally gross me out :( Really gross (and overpriced!) donuts, wouldn?t recommend at all

Love getting donuts here. Always such great quality and variety. Mom loves the lemon ones!!! She doesn't like much anymore due to illness, but she absolutely devours your donuts. Thanks!!

My initial opinion of this place was terrible - the donuts were absolutely inedible. I went back a second time on a whim and my opinion did a full 180. The donuts were fresh and the selection was great. I went back a third time several hours before close and there were maybe 20 donuts on display total. I paid $4/donut for "premium" donuts and received old, stale donuts that just ended up in the trash. Please stand by your "Freshly baked batches" claim - especially if you're going to charge $20 for four donu

Without a doubt the best donuts and fritters we have had in Colorado! East coast quality.

By far the best tasting and freshest donuts I have ever had! It has become a family tradition to stop by and grab a donut every Sunday morning. It is something we look forward to! If you are ever in the monument area, coming here to get a donut is a must!

Maple bar taste like coffee, apple fritter taste like dough. Carrot cake was dry with horrible frosting.glazed was ok, still taste more like dough. For 18$ dollars for 4 donuts I think they should be much better

Awesome little donut shop. They had a really wonderful selection and their donuts were flavorful and fresh!

Absolutely and amazing. Doughnuts are HUGE. They are very friendly

These donuts are so amazingly large and delicious! How they get them to be humongous but also fluffy and perfectly cooked defies logic. The frosting, filling, and flavors are all so delicious. Highly recommend, especially if you are super hungry. Yes, the apple fritter is bigger than our baby's head.

Great donuts! They have a huge variety and we've liked all the ones we have tried! Way better than the chains!!

Had them from a work meeting. Apple fritter was moist and flavorful. Haven't been in so will need to check out the variety, but what was in the dozen was pretty good. I love donuts so definitely will check them out. I mean I have one named after me in Arizona. Probably the biggest apple fritter I've ever seen.

Well worth the price! These donuts are huge and well decorated without sacrificing quality in taste. Definitely try the cinnamon roll! So delicious and is bigger than a grapefruit. Will definitely be a regular customer

I am not a donut person but every once in awhile I start thinking about them and sometimes that turns into a dream. Like last night and I woke up thinking I have to get a Horseshoe Donut. I was introduced to them when my husband was in the hospital I would stop there and buy a box of donuts for the staff - they loved them. What I really like are one of those cinnamon buns that look like a beehive hairdo or possibly a delicious fritter or something with raspberry jelly or lemon...you get the picture. Well

This place used to be so good. Not any more. My kids didn?t even want to eat the dried out old donuts not to mention it?s dirty and run down.

The doughnuts are huge, but I find them to be too sweet. The cake doughnuts are already so sweet they don't need a glaxe. I also feel that for the price, the quality should be a little better; like using homemade fillings and icings. Some flavors are unique, but most of them are the same thing you can get at a grocery store in jumbo size. The employees are always wonderful. I don't like that the owners have a service dog and they let him run around the store. I'm not a fan of him slobbering up my shoe

The donuts are really tasty, and I usually go in once or twice a week for some before work. I don't think I'll be going back anymore though. The pastries are quite good, but if like me you don't carry cash, you'll get a regular guilt trip for using your card. Why even have a card reader if your employees are rude to people who want to use it. It's just as well I suppose, we should all eat a little healthier.

An almost overwhelming amount of options, but everything I've tried is delicious so far. I'm very lucky to live so close to it because I can get there early before they sell out. I see a lot of negative reviews about this, but I would like to point out that they don't have a kitchen attached to their store front. All of these donuts are made at a different location and brought in when they're done. I understand the frustration, but their location is limiting. Donut Reviews: Glazed Horseshoe - Simple, good

I have been a fan of Horseshoe Donuts since I first visited their location on Airport and Circle a few months ago. I was super excited to find out that they were expanding their service location to a new location in Monument. These donuts are hands-down the best that I've ever had and they make apple fritters the size of your head. If you're looking for a one of a kind donut shop that offers great quality food and a friendly staff, at great prices this is the place for you. I would highly recommend this pla

This place has some uniquely made donuts with fun flavors and designs. However, every time I go, their donuts taste a few days old. They are usually dry and stale. Especially for the price, I don?t think it?s worth it. I now just go down the street to King Soopers and get a mixed dozen for $7, and they?re always fresh and delicious.

If you love donuts and you are near and don't stop, you might want to get yourself checked. It's that good.

Fritters are delicious! Frosted coconut just tastes like sugar...no taste of coconut at all. 1 donut could fee 2 people. They are HUGE! Would be nice if they cleaned the place up a bit. Grungy. Needs an update and good cleaning.

To the master Baker those donuts in the coffee roll was exquisite I can't wait to visit your town again to come back and get more I'm glad I don't live next door to this place cuz I have???????? to watch my weight thank you so much I appreciate your professionalism Master Baker..??

I think the variety and flavor of donuts offered is excellent here. They taste great, albeit I wouldn?t recommend letting them sit beyond a day. My biggest issue is that I?ve been multiple times only to find a ?Sold Out? sign on the front, even when I?m showing up at noon. I?ve wasted my time driving back and forth more than they deserve after so many attempts. This isn?t a bbq joint that advertises ?Open until we run out of meat?. They have firm hours posted, and if it?s too difficult to keep stock up, ch

By far the best donuts I've ever had in Colorado. They are so fresh and light. Exactly the way donuts should be. I recommend the regular glazed donuts with chocolate on top in the shape of the horse! Staff is very friendly. Definitely will be back soon.

Very yummy donuts. Love their unique flavors. Their donuts are just different and a staple to our monument visits.

Raw donuts! Order 4 donuts and 3 were completely raw inside. Contacted the owner by email and was told that there was someone new making the donuts. Even after I told I was from out of town she offered to give me donuts knowing that I was from out of town. I asked for a refund and she said she would give me a refund but 2 weeks later I never received it. I checked other reviews and past reviews had the same issues of donuts being raw.

Pretty good donuts. Needs better sit down area, though. Iiked the long john donut.

This place is daylight robbery. Their pricing is deceptive, as they price everything individual, no option for when buying a dozen; but, they will tell you ?well everything is listed on the board? for the cost of each individual donuts. They don?t tell you this until you?re checking out either. 32 dollars for a dozen donuts, half of which were a basic chocolate glaze, just ridiculous. They aren?t anything extra special either.

The worst donuts in Colorado! Horrible customer service and over priced! Even King soopers has better donuts. The owner will shoot first and not ask questions.

One of our doctors brought a couple dozen of these donuts in to work. The chocolate frosted old fashioned is hands-down the best donut I've ever had in my life! My husband loves fritters, can't wait to bring him in to try those next!

My family loves a weekend treat from here! I wish there were GF options ?? There are not many donut shops left, but don?t sleep on this one. Beautifully decorated and always delicious.

Best doughnuts in the area by far. Get there very early before they run out.

The employee working this morning was so kind! When my card awkwardly declined she graciously let me have my donuts for free! It was was a wonderful first experience. I plan on coming back to the store and paying the debt I owe

Thee best Apple Fritters, hands down! EVER!! The only problem is, they are gigantic! If you call that a problem, I'm not complaining. Judy don't fall in there, if your on a diet. Prices are great and they are super friendly. My kids love there horse shaped donuts and my husband loves their cake donuts. Something for everyone ??

AMAZING. The blueberry donut has a really tasty fried muffin vibe, I'm usually not a fritter person but theirs was terrific, the chocolate donut holes were perfectly balanced in flavor, Gronk the bulldog is a delight, and the owners are as sweet as their baked goods :) Easily in my top three favorite donut places in Colorado!

The donuts were fantastic! But the baking supplies stored in the bathroom, the cashier wiping her runny nose on her sleeve while handling food, and the dog walking in and out of the cooking area were a big turnoff. So probably won't be back whichis a shame cause really enjoyed the donuts.

Went in on Sunday at 9, had virtually no donuts to speak of. The donut holes they had were day or two old dry Edit 1/17 These folks do an amazing job and I was too quick to judge from a few first tries. Excellent friendly staff with high quality product

Busy at 9:30 Sat morning but still a good selection of donuts, some of which are huge. A little more expensive than your usual shop but so far VERY satisfied with the selection we got. Well worth the 30 minute drive from Falcon.

Just moved my Karate school next door. The workers that made us ready for business got ADDICTED to the amazing offerings this place has! I'm not much of a sugar connoisseur but have to say these donuts and this staff is off the HOOK. Thanks Horseshoe Girls for making your donuts the highlight of our remodel.

I love Horseshoe Donuts! Easily the best donut shop in Colorado Springs. The carrot cake donut is my favorite--I love the buttercream frosting and batter! Also, Liz and Erin are super hard-working and friendly. Thank you, Horseshoe Donuts!

Just stopped in this morning on my way through town. Now, I'm from Chicago, and we have a lot of great bakeries and donut shops out there, but holy moley! I have to say that Horseshoe is hands-down the best donut I've ever had. The old fashioned glazed is expertly made and the perfect donut for any time of day.

The are the best donuts we have experienced in years! My favorite donut is a yeast glazed, and they made it perfect. But you need to get there early for the best selection because the donuts go fast.

These are the best donuts I have ever had! My favorite was the chocolate glazed donut ! The staff is very friendly and I can?t wait to go back to try more :)

Large to gargantuan real donuts. The chocolate covered horseshoe is delicious as is it's counterpart the chocolate horse. The apple and other fruit fritters are the size of a dinner plate. Took all morning to eat my cherry with vanilla icing fritter and was such a treat.

As a local to this area, we have warmly welcomed this Colorado Springs baker to our Town. These are simply some of the best donuts my husband and I have had. Donuts are baked daily and brought to the Monument location. They have partnered with local Pikes Peak Brewery to create a weekly 'brewnut' and continue to amaze us with the sweet variety of Stall Balls (donut holes but better). The cinnamon roles are to die for and if you are in the mood for a toothache, go for the thick coating of icing donuts an
