Horizon Bakery

Horizon Bakery

Reviews Summary

This bakery is highly praised for its delicious pan dulce (sweet bread), menudo, and breakfast burritos, with many calling it the best in the area. Service is generally excellent, though some note occasional rudeness or slow wait times. Parking can be challenging due to high demand, especially on weekends. While most reviews are glowing (5-star), a few criticize stale bread, overpriced/rotten tamales, or inconsistent customer service. The atmosphere is often lively, but some find it rushed or unwelcoming. Overall, it’s a beloved spot for authentic Mexican baked goods and hearty meals, with minor flaws noted by a small minority.

Customer Reviews

The sweet bread is really good and moist. Satisfies the sweet tooth craving. The francesitos or pan blanco, as some call it, are worth the trip. They have a nice crust on the outside and soft on the inside.

Delicious, fresh baked goods. There was a line outside when we went on Saturday morning but it went quickly. They were rushing us through picking (probably due to that long line) our items, which was a little off-putting. However, everything was delicious. We ordered one breakfast burrito (huevos la mexican) and three pan dulce. Very reasonably priced.

Oh my gosh! I went for the pan blanco and added a few sweet breads to try them out. To say that they are mouth watering ?? is an under statement. These are truly authentic breads. It reminded me of our childhood.

It is El Paso tradition to hit a bakery up on Sunday. This place delivered with delicious menudo that was clean and great sweet breads. Their francicitos are amazing especially when hot.

Lately, my bread that I bought ,felt that it was from yesterday . cause it wasn't soft but hard that I had to soften it in the microwave.

Do you like sweet Mexican bread? Try this bakery you will love it. I take my grandkids here, and they love to pick their own bread. They also make good breakfast and lunch burritos to go.

Menudo and Chile Colorado burritos are delicious. The Bolillos/francesitos really good. Their Pan dulce always wide selection. My daughter loves their Esponjas/ Conchas

The sweet bread is mouth-watering. As soon as you get off your vehicle you can smell the goodness that awaits you. Made fresh daily, empanadas of all kinds. Service is great the ladies there will help you with the order, and you will need help due to the vast selection. A must especially early morning... Thank you

Amazing bread, pan dulce. Delicious and good prices. Very good customer service from the lady who works there.

Bread was good, got a little bit of everything to try since this was my 1st time there. Price was fair and service was good. Only thing I didn't like was the my leftover bread got kind of hard by the next morning. Place I usually get it from remains soft for at least 2-3 days.

This time I had the Menudo, it was hot and delicious. And the pan dulce or sweet bread is so good.

It was a very confussing place, Grumpy old lady keep yelling at me, wanting to know what I ordered. I told her but she acted like she didn't understand me. I thought she was going to ring me up so I could pay but she never did, never did anything. But still keep asking very rudely!!! The bacon & egg, and the potato & chorizzo burritos were not good. The picaddillo one was okay.

Love coming here. The donuts and all of their food is amazing. Great service.

Half a dozen of tamales for 11.99?!?!? That's crazy, and they aren't even good ?? Figured they were good before buying them because of the price but no, don't waste ur money on their tamales!

Great doughnuts, menudo!

(updated 2/21/23) I know I gave a harsh review last time but I did go back not for the menudo that I will stay away from it forever, but the bread... this is hands down the best bread I've had in elp/jrz, it tastes just like bread from the south of M?xico. Ignore the menudo, go for the bread. Also, the owner had a big change of attitude loved to see her smiling to the customers and treating people better So we were cruising around trying to find good menudo(yes, I said menudo, if you are not from El Paso b

The menudo is pretty good, but the bread! ????Eveytime I've gone the line runs outside the store but it goes quick.

I am a mail carrier and I used to get a burrito with potato and rajas and queso so delicious but this time I got the telera torta with ham, wow super good and bought the homemade tortillas

Best menudo in ALL of El Paso! Good bakery with fresh baked bread. Lots of selection and very good prices on their wide selection. Highly recommend for that nostalgic bakery selection! Will not disappoint ??.

One of the best places in El Paso to eat burrito or sweet bread

This hometown bakery has been providing the Town of Socorro and it's surrounding communities with some of the best pan dulce around for decades! On the weekends they offer home cooked menudo that can't be beat! When we are visiting from Austin we always make sure to bring home plenty extra for pan con leche at night. It's always nice to have a little sweetness, it reminds us of home!

Great pan dulce & pan blanco. Customer service excellent as well. They only thing I did Not like is the parking system. Too small of parking lot for high volume of Customers. And we were there at 7:30am on a Sunday

This place is amazing! Burritos de chile colorado, chile en rajas etc. pan dulce is to die for!

The bread here is out of the world. I really wish we had one closer to us! We brought home 3 loaves and some sweet bread. All of them were gone within 2 days. I can?t recommend this place enough!

It was a very hot day and looking for a shade I found a chinaberry tree right in front of Horizon bakery w/sweetooth, I satisfied my taste with the best cinnamon roll I have ever ate under a hot day.

The bread is delicious but every time I go I see the ladies with the mask ??just on there mouth, they are touching the bread without gloves and they grab the money with the same hands they used to give you the bread. There is so many unsanitary things going on.

The menudo was bland no flavor and the pan blanco did not have salt. I went here because the best menudo in Socorro which is at sorpresa bakery had ran out

Customer service horrible, the lady doing the things with a nasty attitude , they should hire people that have a good customer service felt really uncomfortable, it was my first time coming to this bakery cause my husband say it is good sweet bread but the mood on it felt heavy and the lady looked like she hated her job alot , when she gave me the sweet bread she almost drop it cuz of her nails like she didnt want to mess her nails

Food is good , customer service is not todos con sus malas caras

I can't say enough about this bakery. They have great tasting sweet bread and bolillos. All at competitive prices.

The owner is bad he doesn't give you the amount of menudo you pay for. Beware of not getting what you pay for. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE from the owner himself.

Disappointed, I ordered a barcoa burrito and found hair in my food.

Pan blanco always kept warm. Pan dulce so delicious and good customer service. They have milk and drinks in cooler as well.

Their menudo is the best. White bread and pan dulce is delicious.

Sweet bread is delicious and fresh! When you bite into the pan dulce, it is very moist! Yummy!

This was our favorite bakery for bread and burritos! Now they take FOREVER! to give you your burritos... Waited 38 minutes for some burritos.

Best menudo in Socorro, been that way for years...there's always a long line on Sunday mornings for a reason...

Fresh bread from here is the best!

Worst place ever food have mold and smells nasty and food have mold and experied

I'm kind of disappointing the owner can barely walk and she tried to help so we spend more time that we need to plus she's very disrespectful she's helping you and then she goes talks to some other person for like 5 minutes and then she comes back and forgets what she was doing

My sweet tooth is fulfilled here. Good sweetbread. Menudo is also worth trying.

They should be more careful with the door handle. They should have some body cleaning the door handle at the entrance to avoid getting infected.
