Customer Reviews

Wanted to get some good breakfast food and stumbled upon Homeskillet. I ordered the brunch-burrito with chorizo. The service was super fast and very attentive. The burrito was so good! The chorizo was very tasty and I love the pico de gallo and sour cream that they put inside it. Would definitely come back and try other breakfast on their menu!

This was a great small breakfast location with a decent standard breakfast of hash browns, sausage, and eggs, but where they really shine is their pancakes and French toast. Their customer service is also excellent and you can even grab a doughnut to go after your meal! If I lived in the area I would definitely make this a regular spot.

One of my favorite brunch spots on Park.Donuts are on point and the service always so lovely. Edit (2024):since Covid, food quality has really gone down.Pancakes were raw last time and tried to give it another go but no cigar. Donuts and service are still good.

Not bad, but also a bit ?plain Jane.? Wanted a simple scramble and wasn?t expecting a giant layer of cheap processed cheese coating the top of my meal (seriously like a Chicago style deep dish pizza). I?d order the chorizo again tho, just without cheddar. Food came out super fast. Both waitresses seemed super attentive. Ty for having me and cheers.

Late Breakfast & Lunch was ok. The French toast was not hot it was warm. The hot chocolate was good! The food came out not even 10 minutes after it was ordered. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful with providing service. The other employees helped to bring in the supplies for the restaurant. In between taking in supplies the employee refilled a water and coffee and did not wash her hands. The cook came out with a hand truck to assist also. Five females and two males and not one person washed their h

Came here on a Tuesday noon to have brunch with my mom and sister. The place wasn't busy and we appreciated there were glass partitions between each table for protection. We ordered the the hashtag and the haus Benedict. The food was okay and nothing particularly special. I also checked in to get a free donut - and since we were 3 people we got an extra donut. The donuts were also just okay. My 2 favorite things about this place are the affordable prices and the amazing service. Seriously the staff here a

Last week I went back to Homeskillet, and once again was very impressed with their Benedicts. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid greasy spoon/classic Americana breakfast eats like omelettes, Benedicts, and pancakes. The service is good, and they are very careful with cleaning and plastic barriers to keep diners distanced and safe. One thing I tried this time I hadn't before, was their donuts. Very worthwhile to pick up some to take to go after having a hearty breakfast/brunch.

Ordered delivery food was great. got the birds nest with mushrooms added. Also got a maple bacon doughnut and it was a great doughnut light fluffy warm and flavorful. Only thing I can say negative is my butter pad was placed in the warm box and by the time it got here was soaked into the box so I could not butter my toast. I would for sure recommend the breakfast from this place and will order from here again if I get back to the area

Solid, ya get what ya see breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. Nothing fancy, but fast and big servings. People complaining about the "quality" are trippin. The quality is great for a casual diner. It's simple, tasty, and affordable. If you want super fancy heirloom tomatoes, micro greens, and artisanal cheese on your omelette, it's not gunna be fast, casual, and affordable. You can't have it both ways, folks.

Three to four stars, but they have a wide variety of food that looks good that I haven't tried so I pushed it to four stars. Everything was fresh, omelette was good, the English muffin toasted perfect and the fruit was exceptionally good. They make their donuts from scratch, I tried a chocolate donut and it was good.

They don't reservations, but got here early to snag a table for 12. Good food and service. They have a donuts display that you can have here or take togo. They always topped off my coffee which I think I had 3 cups of.

Food quality not so good, small portions but the prices are lower. Just wasn't as expected compared to other breakfast restaurants. Nothing stood out as very good nor very bad. Was ok.

I love this place, been coming here for like 5 years now and its just sooooo good. Thai tea is so good, only place on park st where you can get thai tea in the AM. Workers are so nice too.

The food was delicious I had my tastes buds set on something and they did that for me with this birds nest scramble. I added bell peppers spinach and tomatoes. This was a awesome choice ???? ?? I will b coming back lol.

Delicious! If your looking for a simple classic breakfast this is the space. They also have fresh donuts and some items with a twist! Puctured is the Luther (donut burger) and a classic breakfast sandwich on the best Sourdough in the west. Easy, quick, and customizable menu

This is our new breakfast spot in Alameda. The service is great. Food is spot on with breakfast and they have doughnuts. My kids really enjoyed this first experience and we will definitely come back again soon. This place made my tummy happy.

Food got to us quickly. We had the hippie hash, French toast and the hashtag. The French toast was the winner, may look plain and simple but it was a flavor bomb! Hippie hash was yum, salsa was just like pico nothing special, hashtag was also very good. We didn?t get to try any of the donuts since we were stuffed, but we?ll be back to try them. No frills place, cozy seating.

Great breakfast spot on Park. The Donuts are good but the Benedicts are better. The best is the #9 Chorizo Benedict. Service is good and parking could be tough at peak times for brunch on the weekend.

Love going to Homeskillet in Alameda for their Haus Benedict and orange juice. Their poached eggs are always consistent and orange juice that is to die for. (Disclaimer: they don?t sell alcohol-but regardless of the lack there of Bloody Mary or mimosas still a great place!)

Friendly service, food is excellent! Great covid protocol. Go support this place! BTW, the donuts are the BEST!! Glaze twist, my absolute favorite!!

Great American breakfast options, with an array of dishes and desserts. Food quality was sufficient to the price.

Food was delicious, the donuts look amazing! Only reason the lose a star, is because both waitresses were at some point eating their shift meal on the floor in front of customers. That?s a big no no, in the industry. We as paying customers don?t want you to hand us waters, right after you put chips in your mouth. Aside from that, place is solid.

Decent prices and service, and great portions. Tables a bit greasy/crumb-y upon entrance. They had decent patronage when we arrived around 10:30am, with customers coming in at a consistent trickle. Food was quick to arrive but the flavors generally could be amped up a little. Hashbrown texture was great, though! (some crisp to the mostly soft, fresh potato). I ordered a brunch-irrito, which came wrapped in a spinach tortilla. I wasn't a fan of the way the available Crystal hot sauce nor the Tapat?o made t

Small place inside. They get you in and out. Very efficient and knowledgeable of the menu Hard to choose what you want to eat. I had the patty melt. Their donuts are so delicious you can't leave without getting one

Cozy place with great service. Food is comforting and yummy. Tried their coffee, doughnuts, Pesto Breakfast Sandwich, and Haus Benedict. Traditional diner feel, very casual.

Great food. Great service. Covid Safety Measures: Customer masks required when not actively eating or drinking. Staff wears gloves and masks. Partitions between tables. Hand sanitizers on each table. Customers wait outside if line is too full inside.

Food and services are wonderful I highly recommend it

Service was great food was horrendous. Pancakes were undercooked and there was not once ounce of flavor in each of our 3 meals. Will never go back

Used twice on successive days. Great food, friendly staff and good value. Would definitely go again.

Got take out. The food was ice cold and hiding under my eggs was black oozing liquid. Not sure if it mold or old grease. Next surprise was a rotten avocado on the plate. This place used to be good but this is disgusting.

Awesome donuts. I picked up donuts. The restaurant had a line out the door for seating. It?s quite popular.

This place is not very good. They used few days old spinach with my eggs and caused me to have stomach issue and diarrhea for couple of days. Also the service is not good because while still eating the host brings out the bill. It's like she rushing us to eat, unprofessional... oh yea the portions are quite small, and don't get the pancakes too powdery...

Great place for comfort brunch fare. There was a line out the door on Saturday morning, but my family and I were able to walk in and sit right away in the early afternoon.

The worst breakfast I have ever been served. The waitress admitted the holindaise hasn't looked right lately yet did nothing to make it right, didn't offer something else, or discount. I left paying the full 20$ for something that I sent back! The chorizo was dry and rubbery too. My boyfriend would have sent his back too but he was starving and ate it anyway but said his was horrible too

Thoroughly delighted. Got the Haus Benedict and subbed balsamic greens for the hash browns. One of the best I?ve ever had. Wife said the Birds Nest was one of her all-time favorites. Place was packed but we waited less than 10 minutes and the orders came within 5.

What a great breakfast spot:) The mushroom Benedict was delicious! They even serve Thai ice tea

The place is the definition of hole in the wall. I walked past it twice before I found it. Being it was a Saturday morning, it was no surprise that the place was packed. However there was a good flow of people coming and going. My breakfast was delicious. When I sat down, the first thing my eyes landed on was a sign for Nutella filled pancakes with Strawberries, it was a must have at that point and I add some tradition breakfast sides to go with. I can't wait to go back and try their breakfast Mac n' Chee

For sure, a good place to have breakfast specially the banana French toast, favorite item on the menu.

Food is meh. The hippie hash was poor quality, unseasoned, and bland. The classic hotcakes tasted like French toast (which I don?t like). I wanted pancakes. Not vegan friendly. They only have whole milk for coffee.

Hosts were filled with awesomeness. Pancakes were fluffy and paired well with their syrup and butter. The chicken sausage can be a meal on it's own with it's juicy goodness. Cheers

Busy brunch and breakfast spot. Roughly $12 to $15 per person the portions are massive for the combo breakfast easily split for 2.

I?m a vegetarian. Found meat piece in my vegetarian meal. Food quality not good.

Sitting here at Peets getting breakfast after walking away from our breakfast at Homeskillet. The place needs a good deep cleaning and smells like a bathroom. They still have barriers up between tables which felt depressing. We ordered the eggs benedict and the hashtag breakfast. The food came out in less then two minutes which made us feel it was possibly microwaved and not cooked to order. The hashbrowns were so greasy and reminded me of community college cafeteria breakfast. Didn't want to risk a stomach

Honestly iam very upset I haven't seen this place before it's really small super cozy treasure in alameda , dount burgers , breakfast, and fresh dounts made everyday , is diffenetly re recommended, prices are very reasonable

Food here is terrible. Ordered the breakfast burrito but it was mostly tortilla. Sent it back and asked for the Eggs Benedict?very bland/no flavor. Also the restaurant smelled like cat litter.

I wish I could put 3.5 stars This is basic diner food and that can really hit the spot, which it did. By basic I mean kinda like iHop level food. Except for the donuts. Those were amazing. Noise level was okay. The place is small and we were jammed in there up against a precarious plexiglass divider. Definitely go for the donuts.

Excellent value. Great food. Portions are quite large, so either come hungry or share with someine

Service was great! Low key atmosphere my only complaint was the muffin on the egg Benedict. It wasn't toasted enough so it didn't hold it's structure as well and got soft very quickly. Eggs were a bit runny.

Incredibly fast and friendly service, delicious breakfast food, and fresh doughnuts! Absolutely coming back!

I've been going to Jim's for brunch for the longest time that I decided to switch things up with Homeskillet. Food's fresh, portions are huge (their nest one gave me a food coma!) and the prices were right. Service was a bit hurried though; I get that they want to turn over tables, but they asked for our order right when we sat down...

The breakfast was really good and small cozy restaurant line of people outside waiting to eat the as I was leaving I saw this had to try one maple bacon doughnut

Homeskillet always hits the spot. The tooth fairy French toast is soo good. The donuts here are also a main attraction. I love how easy it is to get tables and the very quick and polite service from the lovely people working here, especially Yaya! It?s also good for to-go orders. Highly recommend for a breakfast/brunch on weekdays or weekends.

Why did I not come here any sooner.I always go to the other 2 places on Park St for breakfast. This place is awesome. It's small but very cozy. I like how it's a bakery and a restaurant. All of the personnel there are very friendly. The food it very tasty and the food portions are perfect. I have found my new breakfast spot.

Food is amazing, 10/10 recommend mushroom and spinach benedict!

There was a wait when we arrived (write yourself on the list), but we were seated rather quickly. Once we ordered the food came out quickly. The food was good, no complaints. I like the cinnamon they put in their pancakes, just the right amount. Overall, I would visit again for a warm, homey breakfast cafe atmosphere.

I love this place. I have the traditional breakfast, of eggs bacon hash browns and toast with a cup of coffee. They have wonderful freshly cooked Donuts all different kinds like regular glazed, and fancy ones like blueberry cake donut with a lemon frosting and a maple donut with bacon!!! People love bringing their children here because it's friendly and the food is fresh. Bacon can be crisper but it was sooo good! This part goes to the owners of this wonderful place. You have such wonderful wonderful peopl

Great place for breakfast and brunch. Love their "birds nest" dish and their donuts are fantastic! (Recommend blueberry glazed) Their service is also good, my wife and I have become "regulars" in that they know our orders before we place them. They are generally quick and efficient. Fair warning if you go during peak hours on weekends, there will be quite the wait, usually 15-30 minutes due to the smaller size although this is common for alameda brunch spots.

Met others for breakfast. Day was cool - and sitting by window was uncomfortable. I had eggs benedict - English muffin had a sogginess about it that is unusual with eggs benedict. But otherwise good. Service was okay. Did seem strange that they did not offer more coffee after we finished our meal. Kind of like they didn?t want us to hang around.

Service was fast but food was average. I had a smashed croissant as French toast with a side of canned whip cream ( I'm a firm believer that French toast should come with real whip cream). Cool spot if you just want regular breakfast.

The customer that takes their time to come into this establishment are treated as a secondary priority to DoorDash/UberEats/Grubhub online customers comfortably sitting on their couch. We waited (in the rain) about 15 minutes before getting a table. Once inside, there were no menus on our table. The hostess did, in fact, apologize for the delay due to an influx of orders, so we expected to wait a bit. Our arrival time was 10:30am. Seated at 10:50am. Menus were not on the table until 11:10am. A group

Stopped in for breakfast with my partner. Our breakfast arrived quickly; the only flaw was an error in my order which was quickly remedied. It's breakfast, so it's not exactly fine dining...it was, however, tasty. The prices were about what I expected for ?modern? eateries. Overall, it wasn't an unpleasant experience; I'll stop in again should I be in Alameda.

My weekend breakfast stalwart, but be willing to sit at the small counter or be prepared to wait. The doughnuts are not my style, but they are well made. Fair prices for the area, and decent portions, with some creative but homey-feeling options.

My son and I come here every Wednesday after school. This is probably my favorite place for breakfast and lunch on the island. The donuts are always fresh and fluffy and a bit oversized. Come early because they sell out some days. The food is great and the staff make sure you're taken care of. The only problem is they close at 2:30pm. I wish they were open until maybe 4 or 5.

Good spot to grab brunch on the weekend. Lines can be long but the chefs and staff are on point to getting your meal to you very quickly once you sit down. The only disappointment is the missing liquor license so you can have mimosas with your meal!

This place has the best diner breakfast on the island, and it comes out fast! Often 5 minutes after you order! The staff is great too, very friendly, everyone checks on you, even if you're at a different server's table.

Good food but somewhat expensive for breakfast food. I had the green breakfast burrito but didn't really like the assortment of ingredients. For the price I paid I expected something a little more exotic. The doughnuts are unique but the most popular ones disappear really early in the morning so either come on a weekday (early) or expect to get one of the more generic ones. The lemon doughnut was decent and the blueberry was good, but again not as unique as I hoped. The service was lacking and they seemed d

The doughnuts here are excellent, however the food is a bit lacking. Most of the dishes come with no greens whatsoever and are very heavy. The taste is fine, I just wish there was at least some parsley or green onion.

First time here and we really enjoyed it. The food was good and service was excellent. After breakfast we got a few donuts and it was delicious! I'm sure we will be back. Parking is not the best though. Prepare to walk a bit.

Really, the nicest people work there! Breakfast was so good. The California Love breakfast sandwich is just that-lotsa love! The best donuts in the East Bay are there. Yummy!

I ordered a breakfast sandwich. It was by far the worst breakfast I've ever had. This Sammie had the smallest amount of meat on incredibly thick bread. You could barley taste bacon in the sandwich. What it did taste like was burnt butter or oil. You couldn't pay me to eat here again. To be truthful it was foul, absolutely foul.

Donuts are really fresh very soft and melt in your mouth better than Dunkin? Donuts next level like Krispy Kreme?s

I can't believe I had breakfast here and also grabbed a few donuts. Nothing here on the menu will blow you away, but it's a nice cozy place to have some breakfast and relax after a long night or before a trip to the airport. The donuts are also great; good flavor and texture on the ones I tried and appropriately priced. Stop and have some breakfast if you have the time or swing by to grab some donuts and coffee to go.

I placed an order on Uber Eats today and unfortunately, the Uber driver canceled after an hour and the food was already made. I did call to apologize on the Uber drivers behalf. The lady who picked up the phone was super sweet and understanding that it was out of my control. I did re-order and the food is really good! I ordered the alameda scramble and French toast!

I just had some crazy burrito thing for breakfast. It was unusual; however, it was 10 out of 10. I've eaten here a few times and it's always been great, staff is fast, coffee is strong. Just a fantastic place to eat

Its was very efficient hardly a wait time good food. The only thing I didn't like was when you dine in the dividers they are not personable I mean the people next to you can see what your looking at on your phone . the. dividers should be tinted . but service was good food was good.

The food was pretty good except for the poached eggs. They came hard boiled and dry on the inside. I wish I could say that there was even a tiny bit of liquid yolk, buy the whole thing was hard. It was very disappointing *Edited my review because I really appreciated the restaurant's reply and I plan on returning

My husband and I are so grateful Homeskillet is open during this pandemic. We have ordered several times through Door Dash and the food is just as good as if we ate inside the restaurant. Because of what?s going on, they aren?t honoring their free donut with Yelp check-in but that?s okay by us. If that means they can stay open and continue making delicious food (and donuts) for the foreseeable future, it?s absolutely worth it.

Food is always great when dining in. However ordering to go is a different story. The french toast is always a favorite. My favorite entrees are the Hashtag, BirdsNest and Denver Omelette. The donuts are good but I prefer the dough not to be so thick like they are. Staff is friendly and always helpful

We were able to sit in a booth close to the front of the restaurant.. if the Sun is too bright you are able to pull the shade down.. it was the first time I was there about a week ago and very enjoyable restaurant

I was visiting the Oakland area and wanted some good breakfast, I saw the reviews on Homeskillet and decided I would give it a try. Homeskillet is on DoorDash for delivery and pick-up and due to Covid there is currently no dine in so I place my order on DoorDash which was very easy and convenient with a 18-20 min wait. Upon arrival I was asked if I had a pick up order and I let them know I did and the name it was under; as the lady begin to help someone else I decided to check in on Yelp and with checking i

The turkey pesto breakfast sandwich was bomb!!! Recommend trying something on the back of the menu. The Benedict wasn't anything to write home about, alot folks looked like they ordered that green burrito, it didn't look special. Hash browns were good and judging by the line for the donuts, those seemed to be good too

Food was a bit cold when I got it. If it is a cold day I recommend to sit by the windows because when the door opens you will definitely feel a cold air draft. It has a short wait on some weekends. If the food was warm it might have been better. The staff is super friendly.

Got the "Chicken Apple sausage Brunchritto" and it was meh....there was hardly any chicken apple sausage and what I did find was about as think as sliced cheese, hardly any egg, lots of vegetables, and no salsa, sour cream, or guacamole. I had a side of tater tots, (This was suggested from the wait staff over the hash browns) there was nothing special....just tater tots. Would have e been nice to elevate it a bit considering I payed $25.00 including tip, for breakfast burrito, tater tots, and a coffee. Wait

I don't know what happened to this place but their food is terrible now. Got the chicken apple sausage scramble - hash browns were completely burnt and raw at the same time. Sausage was burnt. Whole meal just tasted like burnt carbon. The cashier reached her bare hands into the case to grab my donuts after taking payments and fiddling with things behind the desk. Would be shocking to have someone's dirty hands handle the food that's going into your mouth pre-pandemic but during COVID it's a deal breaker. Mo

What a great place in alameda to grab breakfast and brunch. We went here on a Sunday afternoon and Wow we were met with multiple hello's. Such a friendly place to eat. We ordered French Toast, The Royal Omelet, the Alameda Scramble and 3 freshly squeeze Orange Juice. What a delish brunch we had. The diner was so busy we missed the homemade Donuts. I heard they go by fast so we gotta come in earlier to snag some of their donuts. One of my new Fav spot in Alameda for breakfast.

Over rated. This place had decent reviews. However not what I expected. I understand breakfast establishments on Sundays so I'd expect a wait; this also being a sign of good good. This isn't the case here the staff is all over the place and extremely unorganized. Nummerous customer walked out for some reason or another. The food didn't seem like a big hype. The food was extremely bland; the cook didn't have the right balance from over cooked hashbrowns, under cooked eggs, non toasted English muffin. I'm not

I have never been; however, someone brought their doughnuts into work for us. They were by far THE BEST doughnuts I've ever had. Don't feel bad for eating more than one! Worth it.

I had ordered my breakfast and when I received it on my table I didn't eat any of it yet because I was ordering a dozen donuts just a few feet away from my table. I come back 5 mins later and she had thrown away the plate of food that was seemingly untouched at the time. Confused to why she did that I asked her why she did that and she said she didn't know that "I was still eating that" so I just didn't bother reordering because I didn't have enough time to wait for a new order and I had already bought a do
