Homeskillet - Alameda

Wanted to get some good breakfast food and stumbled upon Homeskillet. I ordered the brunch-burrito with chorizo. The service was super fast and very attentive. The burrito was so good! The chorizo was very tasty and I love the pico de gallo and sour cream that they put inside it. Would definitely come back and try other breakfast on their menu!

This was a great small breakfast location with a decent standard breakfast of hash browns, sausage, and eggs, but where they really shine is their pancakes and French toast. Their customer service is also excellent and you can even grab a doughnut to go after your meal! If I lived in the area I would definitely make this a regular spot.

One of my favorite brunch spots on Park.Donuts are on point and the service always so lovely. Edit (2024):since Covid,food quality has really gone down.Pancakes were raw last time and tried to give it another go but no cigar. Donuts and service are still good.

Not bad, but also a bit ?plain Jane.? Wanted a simple scramble and wasn?t expecting a giant layer of cheap processed cheese coating the top of my meal (seriously like a Chicago style deep dish pizza). I?d order the chorizo again tho, just without cheddar. Food came out super fast. Both waitresses seemed super attentive. Ty for having me and cheers.

Late Breakfast & Lunch was ok. The French toast was not hot it was warm. The hot chocolate was good! The food came out not even 10 minutes after it was ordered. Came here on a Tuesday noon to have brunch with my mom and sister. The place wasn't busy and we appreciated there were glass partitions between each table for protection. We ordered the the hashtag and the haus Benedict. The food was okay and nothing particularly special. I also checked in to get a free donut - and since we were 3 people we got an extra donut. Last week I went back to Homeskillet, and once again was very impressed with their Benedicts. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid greasy spoon/classic Americana breakfast eats like omelettes, Benedicts, and pancakes. The service is good, and they are very careful with cleaning and plastic barriers to keep diners distanced and safe. One thing I tried this time I hadn't before, was their donuts. Very worthwhile to pick up some to take to go after having a hearty breakfast/brunch.

Ordered delivery food was great. got the birds nest with mushrooms added. Also got a maple bacon doughnut and it was a great doughnut light fluffy warm and flavorful. Only thing I can say negative is my butter pad was placed in the warm box and by the time it got here was soaked into the box so I could not butter my toast. I would for sure recommend the breakfast from this place and will order from here again if I get back to the area

Solid, ya get what ya see breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. Nothing fancy, but fast and big servings. People complaining about the "quality" are trippin. The quality is great for a casual diner. It's simple, tasty, and affordable. If you want super fancy heirloom tomatoes, micro greens, and artisanal cheese on your omelette, it's not gunna be fast, casual, and affordable. You can't have it both ways, folks.

Three to four stars, but they have a wide variety of food that looks good that I haven't tried so I pushed it to four stars. Everything was fresh, omelette was good, the English muffin toasted perfect and the fruit was exceptionally good. They make their donuts from scratch, I tried a chocolate donut and it was good.

They don't reservations, but got here early to snag a table for 12. Good food and service. They have a donuts display that you can have here or take togo. They always topped off my coffee which I think I had 3 cups of.

This is our new breakfast spot in Alameda. The service is great. Food is spot on with breakfast and they have doughnuts. My kids really enjoyed this first experience and we will definitely come back again soon. This place made my tummy happy.

Food got to us quickly. We had the hippie hash, French toast and the hashtag. The French toast was the winner, may look plain and simple but it was a flavor bomb! Hippie hash was yum, salsa was just like pico nothing special, hashtag was also very good. We didn?t get to try any of the donuts since we were stuffed, but we?ll be back to try them. Great breakfast spot on Park. The Donuts are good but the Benedicts are better. The best is the #9 Chorizo Benedict. Service is good and parking could be tough at peak times for brunch on the weekend.

Love going to Homeskillet in Alameda for their Haus Benedict and orange juice. Their poached eggs are always consistent and orange juice that is to die for. (Disclaimer: they don?t sell alcohol-but regardless of the lack there of Bloody Mary or mimosas still a great place!)

Great American breakfast options, with an array of dishes and desserts. Food quality was sufficient to the price.

Food was delicious, the donuts look amazing! Only reason the lose a star, is because both waitresses were at some point eating their shift meal on the floor in front of customers. That?s a big no no, in the industry. We as paying customers don?t want you to hand us waters, right after you put chips in your mouth. Aside from that, place is solid.

This place is not very good. They used few days old spinach with my eggs and caused me to have stomach issue and diarrhea for couple of days. Also the service is not good because while still eating the host brings out the bill. Great place for comfort brunch fare. There was a line out the door on Saturday morning, but my family and I were able to walk in and sit right away in the early afternoon.

The worst breakfast I have ever been served. The waitress admitted the holindaise hasn't looked right lately yet did nothing to make it right, didn't offer something else, or discount. I left paying the full 20$ for something that I sent back! The chorizo was dry and rubbery too. My boyfriend would have sent his back too but he was starving and ate it anyway but said his was horrible too

Thoroughly delighted. Got the Haus Benedict and subbed balsamic greens for the hash browns. One of the best I?ve ever had. Wife said the Birds Nest was one of her all-time favorites. Place was packed but we waited less than 10 minutes and the orders came within 5.

The place is the definition of hole in the wall. I walked past it twice before I found it. Being it was a Saturday morning, it was no surprise that the place was packed. However there was a good flow of people coming and going. My breakfast was delicious. When I sat down, the first thing my eyes landed on was a sign for Nutella filled pancakes with Strawberries, it was a must have at that point and I add some tradition breakfast sides to go with. Food is meh. The hippie hash was poor quality, unseasoned, and bland. The classic hotcakes tasted like French toast (which I don?t like). I wanted pancakes. Not vegan friendly. They only have whole milk for coffee.

Sitting here at Peets getting breakfast after walking away from our breakfast at Homeskillet. The place needs a good deep cleaning and smells like a bathroom. They still have barriers up between tables which felt depressing. We ordered the eggs benedict and the hashtag breakfast. The food came out in less then two minutes which made us feel it was possibly microwaved and not cooked to order. The hashbrowns were so greasy and reminded me of community college cafeteria breakfast. Didn't want to risk a stomach

Honestly iam very upset I haven't seen this place before it's really small super cozy treasure in alameda , dount burgers , breakfast, and fresh dounts made everyday , is diffenetly re recommended, prices are very reasonable

Food here is terrible. Ordered the breakfast burrito but it was mostly tortilla. Sent it back and asked for the Eggs Benedict?very bland/no flavor. Also the restaurant smelled like cat litter.

I wish I could put 3.5 stars This is basic diner food and that can really hit the spot, which it did. By basic I mean kinda like iHop level food. Except for the donuts. Those were amazing. Noise level was okay. The place is small and we were jammed in there up against a precarious plexiglass divider. Definitely go for the donuts.

Service was great! Low key atmosphere my only complaint was the muffin on the egg Benedict. It wasn't toasted enough so it didn't hold it's structure as well and got soft very quickly. Eggs were a bit runny.

I've been going to Jim's for brunch for the longest time that I decided to switch things up with Homeskillet. Food's fresh, portions are huge (their nest one gave me a food coma!) and the prices were right. Service was a bit hurried though; I get that they want to turn over tables, but they asked for our order right when we sat down...

Homeskillet always hits the spot. The tooth fairy French toast is soo good. The donuts here are also a main attraction. I love how easy it is to get tables and the very quick and polite service from the lovely people working here, especially Yaya! It?s also good for to-go orders. Highly recommend for a breakfast/brunch on weekdays or weekends.

Why did I not come here any sooner.I always go to the other 2 places on Park St for breakfast. This place is awesome. It's small but very cozy. I like how it's a bakery and a restaurant. All of the personnel there are very friendly. The food it very tasty and the food portions are perfect. I have found my new breakfast spot.

There was a wait when we arrived (write yourself on the list), but we were seated rather quickly. Once we ordered the food came out quickly. The food was good, no complaints. I love this place. I have the traditional breakfast, of eggs bacon hash browns and toast with a cup of coffee. They have wonderful freshly cooked Donuts all different kinds like regular glazed, and fancy ones like blueberry cake donut with a lemon frosting and a maple donut with bacon!!! Great place for breakfast and brunch. Love their "birds nest" dish and their donuts are fantastic! (Recommend blueberry glazed) Their service is also good, my wife and I have become "regulars" in that they know our orders before we place them. They are generally quick and efficient. Fair warning if you go during peak hours on weekends, there will be quite the wait, usually 15-30 minutes due to the smaller size although this is common for alameda brunch spots.

Stopped in for breakfast with my partner. Our breakfast arrived quickly; the only flaw was an error in my order which was quickly remedied. It's breakfast, so it's not exactly fine dining...it was, however, tasty. The prices were about what I expected for ?modern? eateries. My son and I come here every Wednesday after school. This is probably my favorite place for breakfast and lunch on the island. The donuts are always fresh and fluffy and a bit oversized. Come early because they sell out some days. The food is great and the staff make sure you're taken care of. The only problem is they close at 2:30pm. I wish they were open until maybe 4 or 5.

Good spot to grab brunch on the weekend. Lines can be long but the chefs and staff are on point to getting your meal to you very quickly once you sit down. The only disappointment is the missing liquor license so you can have mimosas with your meal!

The doughnuts here are excellent, however the food is a bit lacking. Most of the dishes come with no greens whatsoever and are very heavy. The taste is fine, I just wish there was at least some parsley or green onion.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich. It was by far the worst breakfast I've ever had. This Sammie had the smallest amount of meat on incredibly thick bread. You could barley taste bacon in the sandwich. What it did taste like was burnt butter or oil. You couldn't pay me to eat here again. To be truthful it was foul, absolutely foul.

I can't believe I had breakfast here and also grabbed a few donuts. Nothing here on the menu will blow you away, but it's a nice cozy place to have some breakfast and relax after a long night or before a trip to the airport. I placed an order on Uber Eats today and unfortunately, the Uber driver canceled after an hour and the food was already made. I did call to apologize on the Uber drivers behalf. Its was very efficient hardly a wait time good food. The only thing I didn't like was when you dine in the dividers they are not personable I mean the people next to you can see what your looking at on your phone . the. dividers should be tinted . but service was good food was good.

My husband and I are so grateful Homeskillet is open during this pandemic. We have ordered several times through Door Dash and the food is just as good as if we ate inside the restaurant. Because of what?s going on, they aren?t honoring their free donut with Yelp check-in but that?s okay by us. If that means they can stay open and continue making delicious food (and donuts) for the foreseeable future, it?s absolutely worth it.

Food is always great when dining in. However ordering to go is a different story. The french toast is always a favorite. My favorite entrees are the Hashtag, BirdsNest and Denver Omelette. The turkey pesto breakfast sandwich was bomb!!! Recommend trying something on the back of the menu. The Benedict wasn't anything to write home about, alot folks looked like they ordered that green burrito, it didn't look special. Hash browns were good and judging by the line for the donuts, those seemed to be good too

Food was a bit cold when I got it. If it is a cold day I recommend to sit by the windows because when the door opens you will definitely feel a cold air draft. It has a short wait on some weekends. If the food was warm it might have been better. The staff is super friendly.

Got the "Chicken Apple sausage Brunchritto" and it was meh....there was hardly any chicken apple sausage and what I did find was about as think as sliced cheese, hardly any egg, lots of vegetables, and no salsa, sour cream, or guacamole. I don't know what happened to this place but their food is terrible now. Got the chicken apple sausage scramble - hash browns were completely burnt and raw at the same time. Sausage was burnt. What a great place in alameda to grab breakfast and brunch. We went here on a Sunday afternoon and Wow we were met with multiple hello's. Such a friendly place to eat. We ordered French Toast, The Royal Omelet, the Alameda Scramble and 3 freshly squeeze Orange Juice. What a delish brunch we had. The diner was so busy we missed the homemade Donuts.
