The service was excellent and really fast and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The donuts were made fresh and were very tasty.
Made to order donuts. Absolutely delicious! I had several flavors that were all very good, but the plain donut was my absolute favorite. So simple, warm, slight crunch, and a really good taste to it!!!
I got a variety of donuts. The flavor was ok. The texture of the donuts was ok, but they were full of oil from the fryer. And I didn?t like the fact that she put powdered sugar on hot donuts. It just melted away I had to ask for more powdered sugar. A bit disappointed. I love donuts, but there were just too oily to enjoy.
Went to Hill City Donuts for my first time today just to get some coffee and donuts for work. I was immediately met with an amazing baker, Emeline. The donuts my coworker and I shared were 100% the best donuts we have ever had. Complimented with amazing coffee. The best start to our day!
I got a half dozen (and already ate one since I forgot to take the picture). They're really yummy, crisp but soft with a smell of butter. I will say I got the cinnamon sugar and espresso, but I can't tell which is which.
The gluten free donuts here are amazing! I got them for the first time yesterday and they were SO delicious, I highly recommend! Already counting down the days until they have them next month, I will definitely be back.
Great donuts! They have the perfect balance of crispy and soft texture. I got a mixed box of house (cinnamon sugar), cocoa, lavender honey and blueberry. The cocoa and lavender honey were the most flavorful, with the blueberry sugar being a bit of a letdown. It's worth pointing out the interior has a handful of historic photos from downtown Lynchburg, some of which I?ve never seen befoe. A very cool feature to check out while waiting for your order.
The rotating special flavors are something my kids always look forward to and of course, having the sprinkle option is great ?? On top of great food, the owner is a fantastic human being that genuinely loves the community.
Great donuts and lattes! They didn't have specialty coffee beverages when I first visited them, but now they do. This makes them a complete package for me!
I got the special donuts: strawberry with chocolate icing then cinnamon with vanilla icing. Both donuts were great and soft. I enjoyed them both. The shop was cute too and the employees were very friendly and greeted me right away.
These donuts are so good! Not fond of the cold brew, it's bottled and really strong... it took adding a lot for it to be drinkable. But honestly, who goes there for coffee?! Their donuts are just simply amazing!

Hill City Donuts is an absolute gift to our 5th street/Garland Hill neighborhood and our community. The staff keeps a clean kitchen and the space is relaxing to sit and have a donut in. The flavors are amazing and you can tell the owner works hard to make her business a downtown staple for delicious donuts. Couldn't recommend a business more.

Fresh cakey donuts that are always perfectly cooked and coated in your choice of flavors with special donuts closer to the weekend. One of my favorite places to stop in the morning for a little treat before work.

Best donuts around -- made to order and hot when you get them! The owner, Emmeline is so sweet and such a staple in the community. There are new flavors often so drop on by! I am always impressed by the quality of the donuts. The coziness of the shop and kind staff are a wonderful bonus.

I was really looking forward to trying this local place since supporting local businesses is really important to me. However, I will not be returning. The girl was very nice, but I found it odd that a donut place didn?t offer basic donuts like glazed and chocolate donuts. The employee informed me those are offered only on certain days. As she began to make my order fresh, she had no gloves on after collecting payment and proceeded to put her hair up, and not wash her hands before handling food in the open k
Ok, I really wanted to like this place but, the donuts tasted like they were fried in old grease and the coffee was bitter and tasted like it had been "cooking" forever. Ugh! The girls at the counter were very nice though.
As with the rest of the community, I was so sad when MaMa Crockett's closed. While this place is not MaMa Crockett's, it is still amazing - and that's what I love about them. Hill City is very much their own product and brand. They don't try to be somebody else, they don't try to replace a previous company. They are their own, and I love that. The donuts are always soft and have several varieties. They melt in your mouth, especially when they're still warm. I also love that they're a "normal" sized donut
Thank you thank you!! I was broken hearted when Mama Crockets stopped serving. I came in today craving the Apple Cider donuts and you guys delivered an amazing donut with your super tasty cinnamon sugar and pumpkin donut. It was delicious. The ladies that served us were very nice and informative. Highly recommend.
We?ve been sampling donuts from the US and Canada over the past 6 months as part of a 2 year road trip, and HCD?s rank with the best! Not gunked up with overly creative toppings or weirdly competing flavors, they are instead perfectly made, soft and perfectly balanced. Try the Honey-Sea Salt or the Chai, close your eyes, and drift into donut heaven!

What a phenomenal find!!!!! Great coffee- both hot and iced- as well as donuts made fresh to order in a variety of flavors. They even have gluten free days (certain days because they change the frier oil as well as a gluten free doughnut mixture) and seasonal flavors. They always have the classics of regular glazed, powdered, chocolate covered and/or sprinkled. OH SO TASTY!!!! And the young lady at the counter was absolutely wonderful.
