To die for!! So yummy, but so calorific!! So just buy 1... or maybe 2. The chocolate old fashion is a favorite and it did not disappoint! It was crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, and had a thick layer of dark chocolate. Many quality donut varieties and drinks, croissant sandwiches, clean, and spacious with some tables and chairs. A great place!!

Went in this morning around opening and the staff was amazing. The two girls in the front were very welcoming and friendly. I love that the donuts are freshly made every morning and have a variety of breakfast options. The girls were very helpful in recommending their best selling donuts and croissants. My family loved Everything we got from here. We will be definitely be coming back.

I absolutely adore this donut shop! The Hispanic girls there are incredible. I?m not sure if it?s the Asian owner, she can sometimes be a bit rude at times. I try to avoid ordering if she?s around. But aside from that, the donuts are amazing, and the iced coffee is delicious. If you see the iced coffee in the fridge that?s somewhat white, I recommend avoiding it. It?s just watered-down coffee with creamer. Order it when you see it dark, and you?ll know it?s real coffee, not just creamer . The short Hispanic

NO flies NO rude workers so don't put too much stock in bad reviews of this place. It was clean and well stocked with great products. Only one person there at noon when I was there but a super competent hard worker kept everyone happy. The breakfast sandwich was as good as you will have at home if your a great cook so forget every drive thru as the coffee put Starbucks syrup in a cup to shame. It's been a while since I have come back to this shop, but I won't be returning. The donuts are good, however the customer service was not pleasant. I really enjoy supporting local businesses and sharing my good experiences, so it is unfortunate I have to give a bad review of this place. I really try my best to have grace with service workers, but sometimes it is hard to give what is not reciprocated. The worker today seemed to be bothered to even attend us eventhough the shop was empty of other customers.

I come here at least 2x a week in the early mornings on way to work and they definitely have the best donuts and coffee around. Service is always quick and friendly, they attend to you right away! Their jalape?o ham and cheese croissants are to die for! Would definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for wide selection of donuts and great coffee to get you going in morning.

Im glad this shop is around just went in this morning and the girls are amazing they recommended their best selling donuts. Everything is averagely priced. Coffee is freshly brewed. Super nice customer service really friendly.

I visited on 3/27/25 at about 10:00am I came up to where the donuts were and stood there for a couple minutes then I was finally acknowledged the girl rudely said ill help you in a minute, when she was finally ready she seemed bothered to even help me I told her what I wanted and when I didn't get the name right she snapped at me ,talking to me like I'm stupid when I was going to pay she used the word Pendaja so was she talking about me?? I've never received such horrible service I will not be returning!

Great staff, friendly, they are able to work at a fast pace and multi task. Donuts are always fresh, they have a great coffee selection!

Customer service is 0 stars.. once arrived we were rudely asked what do we want half a dozen or a dozen didn?t give us a second to look.. felt like she was trying to rush us and was not helpful at all.. to top it off there was a long black hair stuck to my donut? will never be returning

Highland donuts in my opinion are my favorite, There service is absolutely the best the workers are very friendly, nice, and welcoming. Thats the thing that makes this place great. There donuts are very delicious and my opinion this is the best donut place I've been to!

I received the same type of service that the gal received on 3/27/25. All 3 ladies there just ignored me. I even asked for help and she acted like she didn't hear me. I donut know how long they have been in business but they need to get people working there that actually want to work, and also a little customer service training. They get zero stars for everything but I'll give 10 stars for rudeness and bad service.

Real good doughnuts!! Not just air and sugar... although I wish the jelly doughnut had real raspberry filling. The coffee was excellent.

The thing I love about this place is they are stocked even at 12 noon! Some are friendlier than others here. But if you can get past that, the doughnuts are stocked and good, and the coffee is usually hot in the morning! The staff don't keep you waiting, though sometimes it feels like you are interrupting their day.

Local donut joint. They?re family run and they service much of the local community, primarily the nearby students and schools. The donuts are fantastic and very affordable. The breakfast sandwiches are a really incredible value as well. They make a lot of fun and cute specialty donuts with candy that are perfect for birthday parties and celebrations. If you need to pick up snacks for the office or worksite then drop by! It gets busy before school starts around 7-8 so be advised!

I came in the morning to grab a dozen for my office. I showed a picture of donuts from their page. They began to fill up the box with donuts that were not of any of the ones I asked for. I simply said, those aren?t the ones in the photo, so I said is ok if I just pick them out myself. Their response was to ignore me, they began serving others and eventually came back and asked what did you want? I probably wouldn?t come back, the Hispanic woman and older woman and especially the older woman was just so rud

Donuts were good, bagel sandwiches are alright. Customer service is terrible. Found this place on Google traveling through Bakersfield and instantly greeted with attitude. If traveling through, I'd definitely find another donut shop to try.

Always consistently good. I can count on excellent caffeinated drinks, freshest coffee and excellent donuts. The menu has expanded and their breakfast sandwiches are excellent too. Always super nice and friendly.

Highland Donuts has been such a great addition to the surrounding community. They offer duch a wonderful selection of traditional donuts as well as updated versions of the classic. I'm not a sweets person so I slways do for the jalape?o and cheese or ham and cheese offerings. Everything is always fresh snd often still warm. All very tasty. I rarely purchase coffee there, but on the occasions that I have it was strong but not bitter'good flavor. Good selection, hood quality, well priced.

Friendly staff. I love the doughnuts. A favorite pleasure is a ham and cheese croissant with jalape?os. Coffee not bad satisfies my coffee need.

I wish i can give them a minus rating but is not up there, feel lucky with just one star. Rude female employee, no name tag, no eye contact, no greetings, no thank yous, threw my croissant over the counter like throwing a bone to a dog, i was having a hard time finding the slot on the debit machine, and her tone of voice to "guide me" through it seemed like she was telling me off...it is obvious and evident she never cared.

Me and my kids love this donut shop. Our favorite are the breakfast bagels and croissants. They are so delicious and well made. I haven't gotten around to trying the smoothies but everything else has been so delicious so I'm sure that will be as well.

Very rude. Have always got good service. Not today. Spoke about me in Spanish assuming I didn't speak it. Woman claimed to be the manager. Allowed her female worker to talk about me repeatedly. No greeting when I entered. No thank you when I left.

I use to enjoy going here but the last times there were flies in the donut stand, I?m so disgusted and can?t go back. They didn?t try to get it out either just swatted and hoped we didn?t notice. I hope they did when we left! Also no shakes recently so I don?t know why they are on the menu.

Store Outside Apperance doesn't look clean. There is graffiti, panhandlers with shopping carts begging for money. Back of the store I once saw people laying down by the back entrance with a sofa, pallets, and boxes. If they can't keep the outside of the store clean, I am not eating there.

If you live on the east side you know we?re picky and loyal to our fav donut places on this side of town. Kept wanting to try this new place. Very impressed and it?s easily up there with the other two donut shops on our side of town. Very friendly and donuts were fresh. The glaze twist was a tad to sweet but hey it?s a donut so it?s okay.

Second time I go and ask for bagels with bacon and cheese. Last time I stopped her before she served me a croissant accidentally. This time since she asked me ?what type of bagels? I thought she got the order correctly. I get home to find out she still served me two croissant sandwiches when I said bagels at least three times. Unbelievable.

Rude employees!!!! Customer service.. just wow. I ordered a sandwich said no American cheese sub cream cheese. So got American and brought it back. Received new sandwich.. American AND the cream cheese were on it.. Employee argued and hung up on me. Same with the initial one I spoke to. This isn't the first time had problems.. they gave me a turkey sandwich one time instead of what I ordered and I don't know... just don't go here unless you want donuts. For me enough chances given.. I AM DONE

Used to love this place but the customer service needs to be better the last few times we've been there the dispatchers have an attitude on them like you're ruining their day by buying doughnuts.

Not much of a donut fan but I love this donut. Second time trying it but had to have it. It tastes so amazing. This shop sells out fast so u have to go early. But traffic from the kids going to the school is my only issue. But so worth it

Ordered a bacon, sausage croissant, just got sausage. Apple fritter was way over done. Not enough apple pieces either. Ended up throwing away more than half.

Second time I went in here and there were multiple flies and gnats in the donut case. Never going again.

These are the best donuts in Bakersfield. Many years ago I was a donut maker. Highlands donuts have just the right amount of softness with a little crunch on the outside.

My boyfriend and I tried the ham and cheese jalapeno croissant. It was delicious and very filling. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
