Happy Bagels and Donuts

for a restaurant called happy bagels and donuts, the man at the front counter did not seem very happy. he took everyone?s orders with an annoyed tone and no positive vibes. the bagels themselves were pretty good, slightly overdone but the flavor was great. we also got a thai tea which was delicious. overall, would recommend the staff to get a better attitude to match the vibes of their food and shop!

Thai iced tea made fresh, was ridiculously good. The bagel sandwich with apple bacon and turkey was water savoring, great for my quick lunch. 5 stars

Breakfast bagels ?? are so good! And they have specialty donuts ?? one of my favorites is the PB&J donut. Coffee is good. Service is good all around.

I went today, after living in Downey for 7 years, to this place for the very first time. It had plenty of customers. I went in for a bagel and walked out with a Banh Mi. It looked so clean and organized! Very impressed and will return continuously. The sandwich was amazing and now I can go here for my Vietnamese coffee. I found a gem today!

Was my first time here was really excited to try the bagels I was almost finished with it when I realized a hair!! I immediately got an upset stomach my sister couldn?t even finish her bagel anymore. I told the man in the front about it and said let me take a look thank you for letting me know couldn?t even say here a donut on us or simply sorry! I won?t be going back.

Some of the best bagel sandwiches in all of SoCal imo. Damn good glaze donuts too. Can be a bit of a wait if they are busy. It's a small 2 person ma & pa op shop. However great food for those who wait. If in a rush, order it online and pick up works great too. I keep wanting to try other menu items but fail successfully because I want them bagels sandwitchies once I'm there.

One of the best little bagel shops ever and it's local. They have everything from donuts to breakfast sandwiches, and even Viatnamese style sandwiches! And they're really good too! The 2 ladies who are there in the morning are always super sweet and they always toss a few donut holes in my sandwich bag which is like the icing on the cake.

Very cute little bakery/donut shop in Downey. I went for the banh mi out of curiosity. They included donut holes in my order for the wait (not necessary, but so thoughtful of them!) The banh mi was pretty great and I definitely want to come back to try their other items! I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the mood for donuts or a sandwich!

Good bagels but not worth 35 min wait For 2 simple bagels. 1 person on the register, and 1 person preparing food. Unacceptable. Been here before , gave them benefit of the doubt. 6 months later it's gotten worse. They need to hire help!

I?ve been here twice now. The first time I came in there was a long wait (which is completely understandable for a Saturday morning) but I got my food in a reasonable time. They did however forget to add the donut that I paid for which was frustrating and I also had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get a receipt. First off anyone that has given this place less than 5 stars must have been an entitled "Karen". My standards are Brooklyn NYC, and I've tried all the hipster and wannabe bagel shops around LA. This is the closest I've had to a legit bagel in New York. The owner/manager running the shop was friendly and they provided excellent service. This review is long overdue. I have been living in Downey for the majority of my life and I always pass by the plaza where this shop is located but I only found out about it through someone. Best bagels & coffee in town. They are always working hard! I?d rather support this small business than a franchise. I hate leaving good reviews because it means my favorite places will be harder to get into but this place is so fast. Wait no, let me start by telling you that my mindset on bagels is getting something tastey and not too filling . I pair it with their orange juice . I always have to get an extra from keeping my partner from drinking mine. Apart from that donuts are ok.

I would give this place a million stars if I could!! I have been coming here for over a year now, and I still drop by from time to time even after moving farther away. Their food is always delicious, the people here are the sweetest, and they always give us a free treat when we order. Everyone we bring here has fallen in love with the food, rightfully so. Came here for the first time and liked the bagel sandwich and matcha tea. The women in the register and food prep area were friendly and nice. However, the male Asian (I think he was the owner) staff was very rude and unprofessional after getting my drink order mixed up and blamed me for it. Overall, good food but bad service.

I placed an order online for pickup and drove quite a distance to pickup food & coffee for myself and 4 friends. My order got cancelled when I was almost at the shop after driving 20 minutes out of my way. Don't do online orders you will just waste your time. Probably best to just order from another place. For a first time customer this was a very disappointing experience.

We found this place randomly and instantly loved it... bagels are amazing - fresh/soft/flavorful, super cute shop, GREAT SERVICE (I asked for salt packets and they didn't have any but brought salt from the kitchen which I didn't even end up needing cause my bagel was perfect!). This place is great...loved the sandwiches and man the donuts were so delicious. I never liked apple fritters but this one was so good I had to have my husband take me back for another one. Keep in mind I never cared for them but this one was really good.

This person was very rube as we were still looking at menu, he put ice in my orange juice then wanted to charge me just to take the ice out that I never ask for. He also did not have a spoon so I can do it my self, Also for coffee he charges for the cup and milk, aside from the coffee it self. No refunds $6.50 for a small orange juice, your better off going to portos bakery in downey.

There's Doughnut shops on every corner, but they all need to visit this place to learn what "being friendly" is all about, and what it can do for their business. They always treat you to a little surprise in your bag, even if you only buy 1 doughnut. They also welcome regulars to stay and visit with friends as long as they want. It's clean and their pastries are very-very inviting.

The cappino there is the best idk what they put in there but it was the best cappino i ever had not gonna lie. The donuts there are good. Ive been there in 8th grade me an my brother mom. Before school started we would go there and its always warm I want to stay inside but I had to go cuz shes think i would be late to school lol I was cold outside they have nice dinning area theyve updated it honestly it looks better.also the prices are fairly good.

This place is delicious! Great breakfast bagels! Get the jalape?o and avocado addition to your egg, cheese, and bacon bagel. It's delicious and the bacon is perfect! And they are very inexpensive. Try them out!

Happy Bagel and Donuts has BAD SERVICE. I went there a couple times to buy donuts from them. They gave short changes. When I asked for the correct change, the owner, John, gave me a mad dog faces and started to agrue with me. That's not the only time. The best donuts in the area period. Dunkin or Randy's don't come close in taste and flavor. Prices are reasonable also. This is my opinion.
