Excellent donuts!!! Along with the cinnamon roll!! And only $1 each!! Def worth $2 each! How can anyone complain about the size, that?s cheap and taste great! I?m so glad they were open on a Tuesday and had an excellent variety and wasn?t out of anything at 10:15am. Complainers are gonna complain. Haters gonna hate. But this place is great! Loved the low prices!! But worth a whole lot more than $1
Solid donut shop. Everything tasted good and was made that morning. Hard to give 5 stars for atmosphere at a donut shop but it seemed clean and fairly organized.
There are new owners. The donuts run out quickly so not enough are being made and they don?t taste fresh anymore. Very disappointed because it used to be outstanding.
H&K has been my go-to donut spot, but something recently must have changed. The taste remains mostly the same, but the size and texture of the donuts are different. Today's donuts were a fraction the size they were only a couple of months ago. It's a bit disheartening since I don't like the donuts from anywhere else locally.
First time there since new ownership. They hardly had any donuts. All the donuts I went to get they did not have. Will not go back. Sad.
Going to HK has been a family camping tradition since I was 13 and now we take my kids there when we go camping! Always a treat to get donuts and hot chocolate once while we are visiting my mom. The service is excellent and you need to get there before 9am to get the best donuts.
The BEST doughnut shop EVER. Do not miss this place. A true mom & pop gem in the heart of Erie and the owners are lovely humans. I have lived in NYC, Brooklyn, San Francisco, and Denver and have never been able to find a doughnut shop that compares. My grandparents had a cottage on Lake Erie which I have visited from childhood and still do now, and this is the number one business I look forward to frequenting every year. Every time I visit Girard pa. I have to stop at H & K, because who doesn't love fresh donuts on a Saturday morning.

Love the homemade donuts here, especially the cream filled. But it gets crowded early on the weekends. Any time after nine and the selection goes down rapidly and you may be waiting outside. I am not saying it isn't worth it, just be prepared. Get your workout at Presque Isle done early in morning and then grab a dozen of guilt free donuts as a reward. Extending that smug satisfaction to your late rising friends and family as you all enjoy the donuts is up to you.
Best donuts in Erie! This little shop is hands down the best donut shop in Erie. Hot fresh donuts in the morning. Clean, well maintained place. Friendly, helpful staff. The donuts are always fresh and super tasty. Not sure what else you could want! Give them a try, you WILL be back!
I've always been to other Erie donut places until I came here! The staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. The place itself has a cozy small town feel to it and is very clean. The donuts are hot an fresh every time I've stopped in and are the most delicious of all the donut shops in the area. HK donuts is my now my GO-TO donut shop in Erie!
Came in here pretty late in the morning on a Sunday. They were busy but the service was fast and friendly. The kiddos even got some free samples. Clean place and yummy stuff.
My family is currently traveling the country by RV (@adventurtunityfamily) and have created a fun Donut Tour along the way. Our very first donut stop on our tour was H & K Donut Shop! The donuts were SO FRESH and the white creme filling was delicious. The cake donut was perfect! A little crunch when you first bite in and then light fluffy cake inside! We highly recommend!

Great donuts at a great price. Cheaper and tastier by far than chain donut shops. Was glad to see they take cards too. 1 dozen for $8 and 1 and a half dozen for $12.50. Donuts are delicious and filling. Would highly recommend.
Update.....employees not wearing masks, customers not wearing masks, that's a lot of people breathing on the donuts before you can buy them. No posted mask policy. NO THANKS. Can I give 10 stars?!! WOW, the absolute best donuts IN THE WORLD. I'm not joking and not related to the owners, lol. I grew up on the next street and these are a go-to whenever I return. SUPER fresh.
I am in town visiting and rode my bike here early morning. The woman that waited on me was very kind and even took time to tape the bag for me so that I could carry it back on my handle bars! Donuts are delicious and fresh and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend H&K.

I took a chance bringing in clients from the Girard Barber Day Program... great choice, I made indeed. Staff was friendly, patient and understanding to our special needs. Thank you. ( one client ate both donuts, before our snack time.) Oops
We stopped at least once or twice a month the little lady working behind the counter is a delight she always seems happy about her job and helping others and she picks us the best donuts for our nurses at dialysis keep up the good work I would love to have those chocolate chocolate glazed donuts more often yum

Just a AMAZING PLACE..........Great..GREAT...GREAT donuts (the best you will find by far). People talk about mighty fine.....they don't even compare to H&K. H&K provides a home town environment. Customer service knocks it out of the park. This is a MUST visit when coming from out of town or a daily visit if your from Erie.

I love H&K doughnuts I have always thought that they have the best doughnuts in the land My late boss Don Bovaird " Tree Man " (RIP) use to drive there almost every morning so we could have doughnuts before starting the work day. He was the boss and person I ever had the privilege to meet and work for! I haven't had an H&K doughnut in a few years, but let me tell you something. Used to live down the street from H&K Donut. The aroma of donuts would waft in the windows in summer. It was a heavenly way to wake up. Irresistible!
The best donuts in Erie! I have had them all, and there is none better. Their glazed twists are crispier than you will usually find, but in a really good way.
I use to think there were only two good donut shops in the Erie area, Mighty Fine and Jack Frost, but after reading the reviews we tried H&K , and they are up there with there with the best. The down side is they do sell out fast and a couple times we got there too late and the selection was small.

Very disappointed how they're handling covid. Employee is not wearing masks or gloves and sneezed into her tshirt while serving us. Very disturbing. When asked, she says she is exempted from masks due to health reasons, rather carelessly. They need to be responsible and atleast wear a shield. How are the donuts though? Well! We'll never know. Trashing them.

Donuts where ok but on the small side. Seemed more like grocery store donuts. The filled ones are cut in half and the fillings are just put in the donut like a sandwich. Mighty Fine donuts and Jack Frost donuts are better.
Next to mighty fine they are the best except their hours are a number and the run out of glazed twists way to quick. Excellent donuts !!!!
Classic joint that I worry will be closed every time I return to Erie. It's a staple in my childhood. Prices are much higher than in years past but they gotta do what is required to keep alive.

Shop Local! They were very busy when I stopped in for a coffee and a twist. They were still pleasant even though it was very hectic, and the coffee was hot. I will go back soon.
Last time I will go there. It's a long drive and you have no way of knowing if they're open or not. The web site says open right now, but if you waste your time driving out there, when you get there they are not open. A note on the door says closed nov1 thru nov4. Not the first time this has happened ..
