Stopped by Grandma's Donuts. Very popular donut shop in the area and one of the best. Wife grabbed a dozen donuts to go. The glazed donut is pretty good. Been a customer since the original Ma's.
We love (Grand)Ma?s!! Staff is always super helpful and welcoming. Plenty of street parking if the lot is full. And, of course, the doughnuts are just absolutely unreal! Can?t help but to call in a few dozen for the family- and they always disappear so fast.
A true memorable donut coffee shop since 1955 when Ma ;the owner, started making the delicious Treats. Her grandchildren,now owners have followed her recipe continuing the tradition. Order a day before so that you will not be disappointed.
Had some donuts that were made for a special occasion and they did not disappoint one bit. Amazing donuts. I hope to have another one again soon!
So when your 84 year old mother wants a lemon donut what do you do? You Google "donuts near me". Get there and the guy in front of you buys the last 2 in the display. So I asked. You want lemon powdered? Lemon chocolate? Lemon glazed? Came back with 3 fresh lemon powdered. I'm quoting "this is the best damn donut I've ever had" I will definitely be back. Well worth the trip!! Thank you Grandma's Donuts you made momma very happy and everyone knows, when mommas happy everyone is happy!
Can?t miss the opportunity for some Ma?s Donuts when we?re in Fairhaven where my grandparents used to live. As good as a donut gets! This picture was a dozen donuts turned into a sampler tray for everyone to share.
Unfortunately I used to love making the drive and visiting this establishment but sadly I believe those days are over. Recently I made a trip there at 8am and even that early in the morning, there was basically no variety of products to purchase which is disappointing at that time of the day. To make matters worse, the pricing of almost $4 for a small donut is not worth it and the fact that the quality of the donuts are not as good as they used to be is also unfortunate for a place I used to love to visit.
This is the quintessential old school donut shop experience. Ma's donuts was the donut shop of my childhood. I left the area a long time ago, and on a trip up with my family I was crushed to hear they had closed several years ago. However on this trip we were delighted to hear that the family of the original owners had reopened with a new name. With great anticipation, my daughter and wife got up early and got some donuts. I am here to say that the new owners have successfully duplicated their grandparents
Best donuts in town for many years. Sadly, they closed for good about a month ago. *** UPDATE: They have reopened as "Grandma's Donuts" and are better than ever! Same amazing donuts and a wider selection. I am over the moon. Try the chocolate frosted with optional real bacon and the fluffy linguica rolls!

I visit GrandMa's donuts with my friend every Sunday morning after the clubs let out. The service is always the greatest with their bright friendly staff, great food, and good convo and laughs. I totally recommend the bee sting sandwich and any coffee flavored with honey butter. ??
Please correct your website so the title of your shop says FORMERLY Ma's Donuts (not "formally"); the two words are completely different. Thanks! :) Otherwise, these are still the best donuts EVER in the Southeastern MA area! They're every bit as delicious as when they operated successfully for many years as Ma's Donuts.

Adorable interior, probably the best donuts I've ever had and on top of that they use the best donut shop style coffee brand. It's a perfect combo! I wish they were open more but i respect the exclusiveness of their art. There you have it, their donuts are legitimate works of art!
Went there Friday morning , left at 615am. Closed. They are supposed to be open at 5 , 3 days a week. Heard it's been the same hit or miss if open when they say they are. Have to go the other shop from now on thats basically the same and are open when they say they are.
We booked a large order of donuts for our wedding reception (instead of a traditional cake) and the team was phenomenal. When we went to pickup our order, they took great care to ensure everything would travel well. The donuts are incredible and so tasty; you can tell the team knows what they?re doing!!!!
The best donuts you?ll ever eat! You have to try their cinnamon rolls! Their honey dipped(glazed) donuts are heavenly. The cake donuts are the best old fashioned donuts I?ve ever had. The jelly sticks are great?jelly from end to end. The donuts are not greasy. They taste exactly like the former Ma?s Donuts, and they are housed in the same building. Delicious!
Great donuts ??. Actually the best on the South Coast. Only improvement would be to speed up the service line when people order complicated to make coffee drinks/shakes or what ever . Slows the whole line down . 2 drinks added at least 8 min to the line for the two girls in front of us . As we had already waited 15 min . Worth the drive going here hands down !!
Donuts were fresh, pumpkin muffin was 5 star, chocolate chip muffin I would not get again. Tried coconut donut , chocolate frosted, glazed and pumpkin glazed.
I just came here to say that you won't get better classic donuts elsewhere. I saw that some guy wrote on here that their recipe has changed since reopening, well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The glazed are just as fire as they were 7 years ago and the line out the door proves that. The quality has and always will be top notch. The price is right too. I am so grateful they reopened!
We used to have Donuts Delivered everyday to the Restaurant where I worked on Kempton Street , "Our Place", back the 70's! I Love their coffee rolls! Ma's is The Best!???
I am ashamed to say I am a life-long New Bedford resident, and today was the first time I went inside Ma's Donuts. I was like a deer in headlights at the sight of all the delicious looking donuts and pastries. They have classics like eclaires and lemon squares, Portuguese staples like natas, and a plethora of donuts. I also got a butter pecan Iced coffee, which was absolutely delicious. While I was there, I noticed they have syrups for milk/milkshakes, seasonings, t-shirts, and more. I'll be back!!
Tired of going to this place and they don't have donuts. My husband was there at 8AM and they had already run out of donuts, not getting up at 4AM to be there for donuts they should anticipate what they need.
Donuts and coffee rolls are phenomenal. I just have 1 issue. Perhaps they can update their hours on the website. When you google them, the opening time shows 4 am but I got there and the don't open till 6am on Sundays.
Heard for years how great these donuts were. Thought I missed my chance when they closed a few years back. Luckily, they're open again on a limited schedule (Sundays 6-1)and I got to try them. DELICIOUS!!!
Never had a better doughnut. (Ma's) sets the high bar for the entire industry. Light dough, real frosting, and the honey dip can not be beat. Life-long customer and have never found a better place to go.
I like their spinach and feta pastry the latticework crust is divine and the filling is very tasty. I don't think you could go wrong by buying this and enjoying it with your morning coffee or tea.

At the bar one night I asked some old-timers where to find the best donuts around (around being Providence). They all emphatically said Ma's in New Bedford. They've been making them for over 50 years. They were right, the donuts were amazing, and it was totally worth the trip. Truly worth going out of your way. Just make sure your early enough because Ma's runs out of donuts every morning. Yes, they're that good. Take your kids. They will witness what a true artisan family has created and maintained for generations. Too rare.

I stopped in here with a friend just to handle some things with the owner then I had the pleasure of meeting his lovely other half which offered us 2 donuts in a coffee we then try this awesome tasting recipe created by Family tradition and I tell you this I'm going back with my family so that they can have the same experience I did

I had to take a loan just to be able to buy 2 coffee rolls at this place. I wasn't impressed by quality, variety or staff. Will not be returning at these prices.
Not what they once were but that was expected. Prices have skyrocketed (nation wide inflation?) which doesn't make one feel all warm and fuzzy either. They've added a few new items to the menu which I've yet to sample... I'll be back at some point I'm sure.
I want to thank Grandma's Dounts for not being open October 2 2022 at 6:00 am as stated on their web page. Got up early traveled 30 miles to sit out front on a Sunday for nothing. People where pulling up and driving away and now its my turn to drive away. Thank You for wasting my time
