A true neighborhood cafe - this means friendly service where the owner recognizes the patrons and genuinely asks about their day; loved the glazed donut, and the drip coffee; I went here after tennis at Delores Park . I like the red and yellow canopy with white lettering! Cafe is cozzy , well lit, clean, well maintained. Wonderful murals near this cafe. Great owner / manager ; also loved the effigies of Cambodian gods inside this place.
Had a ham and cheese pastry and got my kids chocolate glaze. Also got myself some doughnut holes because... It's vacation right?!?! The doughnut holes were the best I've ever had. I've never put something so airy and fluffy in my mouth. Price was also great after a week of high SF prices. You will love this place. I sure did. No frills but all the best flavors!
I loved it!! Very SCRUMPTIOUS!! Had me one of the best apple fritters ever. I LOVE ZEE FRITTERS!! This lil'donut shop even carries already made sandwiches. So instead of making a sandwich for lunch you can pick one up here before work. They make a variety of them here like a B.L.T, or a Tuna sandwich.All bread,pastries,donuts and coffee served very fresh. Always fresh and high quality food
Cake donuts, maple filled donuts apple pastries. Get there they run out of filled donuts fast. The guy service us was fast and it's worth to go early and get your filled eclair donuts. Before they run out! I'd recommend my friends definitely.

Went here to pick up treats to bring to work and was so presently surprised! The Chinese couple running the store seemed very kind and hard working. The donuts were still warm when I got them at 8am. I picked out 3 huge glazed/sugar/chocolate covered donuts, two small cake donuts with toppings, and an almond croissant. The glazed and sugar covered yeast donuts were by far the winners. They were impossibly soft and fluffy, perfect amount of sweetness, and perhaps a bit oily but somehow in an enjoyable way.
This small shop looks like it?s been here forever. I didn?t get donuts but the BLT with ham sandwich was top notch, in part because of the bread they used. Would go back.
I been going to this donut shop for years and the donuts are good! I either get a glaze or donut or glaze cake donut and coffee. I went their today and ordered tqo maple cake donuts. When I looked in my bag it was two old fashioned maple donuts. I told her I ordered two maple cakes and the lady had the nerve to argue with me telling me that I said old fashioned maple but never ordered old fashioned nothing because I don't like them. Jenny is the best! Amazing service, fresh pastries (the chocolate croissant is my favorite), great sandwiches (I love the tuna sandwich) and yummy coffee. This place sells out every day for a reason! And you can?t beat the prices.
This place has affordable donuts, sandwiches and even some Asian style buns. They are very nice and there are some tables to sit and eat. This is really valuable on busy Mission St which mainly has fancy cafes. Come support this mom and pop eatery Asian that serves affordable delicious food to a mainly Latin crowd. I see many people order the fresh rolls and my go-to is the hot dog bun which can be had with or without cheese or spicy/not.
this place is great but the service isn?t the best , some lady came in and wanted a donut , sat down and started counting her pennies. When she was done the cashier said ?no pennies ? and the poor lady left with no donut. One free donut won?t hurt you .
This is our favorite donut shop in the whole city! They're cream filled donuts are to die for. They're maple donuts are my favorite. The staff are so welcoming and kind it's always a great experience. Plus the glaze does not stick to bag , ever! If I could give it more stars. I would!

Doughnut was good but getting to the store is really hard. My daughter refused to get out of the car because of how sketchy the neighborhood is. If you drive to it be prepared for a weird feeling that you really don?t feel safe. Maybe someone from town would say different, but this was not the top of my places to drive to.
I love this donut/pastry shop! It's owned by a local couple who have probably owned it for the longest time. I think they get in at like 5am every morning to bake their fresh goods. All of the fresh baked donuts are delicious (only $1 each). Definitely try the Almond Butter Croissant (best almond croissant I've had). They have a lot of locals eating there. Good coffee. I think their bread rolls are popular too.
We been coming to Grand Mission Donuts and Bakery for more than 27 yrs. Best french bread in the city (SF). The only thing that we would love is for them to add a bit more butter on top of the bread. Before it use to have butter on top. Now is kind of dry. But overall we still love their French Bread.
I love the dough used here. They prepare their donuts,coffee n dinner rolls every morning, so you can enjoy them fresh. No hassle just quick in and out donut fun and chewing enjoyment.
There's a variety of items to choose from here. Doughnuts,pastries to 3 different coffee flavors..This lit'l goody has to be one of my favorite places to visit in the morning. It's a great place to pick up a doz. doughnuts and a bag of freshly baked bread buns for dinner. Another plus are their premade sandwiches. The staff are so nice and i love there vanilla glazed sprinkled donuts and there vanilla coffee is wonderful too my favorite donut shop to grab something good on the go! I grew up just coming into this donut shop and its still in business and i love it. And they have yummy Chinese desserts too??.
Unassuming shop with some very nice pastries and inexpensive too. I tried the chocolate croissant and almond cake. Both were quite good and although I wouldn't say top tier (which would be on par with Parisian pastries) they were highly enjoyable, especially with the coffee that I purchased along with them!
Lots of memories here. I pretty much watched and grew up with the daughter of this place. They are hard working and honest people. This shop has been here for years and everytime I go back, the food is just the same. The place is very narrow. If you came in the morning it can get busy.

The owner is so nice! I actually can't speak to the doughnuts here, but there's a decent selection of Chinese pastries (pineapple bun, that fluffy sponge cake, pork bun, etc.) that you won't necessarily go out of your way for but are definitely welcome if you live close by and want a good option! To an earlier comment about them leaving hot dogs out all day - that's the Chinese pastry way for you! Things are left out all day (cream-filled things, too) in most bakeries and everyone's fine. Seriously.
The pastries are fresh, reasonably priced, and not too sweet. The raisin snail was amazing!!
I lived down the street from here with my 4 year old during the first wave of Mission gentrification in the '90s. We used to stop by this place for treats on the way home from his preschool. Now we've been priced out of our old place and the neighborhood is polluted to near-saturation with boutique everything, but THIS place has not changed one BIT (well, they did get a new price list to hang over the counter...). They STILL serve the best buttermilk doughnuts in the city BAR NONE, and the freshest, yummies
Delicious apple fritter - croissants are okay but not the best, a tad deflated. A great place to stop in while waiting for the bus.
