Many long-time customers praise the friendly, family-owned atmosphere and consistent quality over decades. While most reviews are highly positive (5-star), some note recent declines in quality or service, particularly regarding specific donut varieties or staff interactions. Customer Reviews

Great donuts and the woman working there was incredibly friendly. She even made my daughter's their favorite rainbow donuts when they were out.

Our old stomping grounds still has some of the best donuts around. We stopped in the newly rehabbed store for those treats, talked with the original owners, and had a good time. The donuts are always worth the time we'll spent!

I have been coming to this donut shop whenever I?m visiting family in San Diego. The most stapled donut that I remembered is the cream cheese filling or the cheese danish. Due to new ownerships, those items were removed from the selections. Until recently, I asked the lady if they were able to make the same specific donuts and said yes and as long as the 24 hour given in advance. I ordered 5, for $18.00. I picked up the donuts and was so excited to have some, but I was leaving SD back to Hawaii and unable t

The doughnuts are good, I came here recently because Bear Buns Bakery was closed. And the ham and cheese croissant was okay, but the doughnuts are better. The guy working there is friendly though!

I would come to this donut shop literally every single day for donuts and a coffee. Sometimes even twice a day! I was a regular customer but I decided today after being treated like I wasn't anyone important twice now, to stop purchasing from here and go to Barrio Donuts instead. The young lady in the mornings has the customer service of a rock with little honest care, or concern for customers. I've seen her in action a few times with customers, she is very cold and harsh. I don't know if this is due to a

The people that work here are always super friendly . Doughnuts never disappoints. We love coming here in the mornings before my son starts school. I recommend this place if you?re in the neighborhood.

Samaya ???????? is always very helpful. In SoCal, Cambodians know donuts! See ?the donut king? on pbs

Great donuts, Good price, Very welcoming and friendly.

Their croissants barely have any butter. Zero flakiness. Tastes like literal bread?? eggy aftertaste

I grew up in the neighborhood and was both sad and happy that Norm and Jie (original owners for 30+ years) had finally decided to retire. Unfortunately, The new bakers just aren?t as good. I?ve tried going back and supporting them but the donuts aren?t what they use to be. They?re smaller, uneven and the frosty is both thick and super thin from donut to donut. It?s like they don?t take pride in what they?re doing and are just there to work. I took my family members and they all made similar comments abou

I have been going to Goody for many years and drive a distance to get there. I pass other donut places on my way. The very best! A family business, they are so kind and make getting a donut and coffee fun. Love the donut holes and tiny cream puffs. They sell them by the piece, don't force you to buy more than you want or need to keep your weight down while enjoying a treat. Perfect donuts and wonderful coffee. Oh, and the brownies are rich and delicious. Price of everything is very affordable.

We love this place and their donuts!! Donuts have become a pandemic "self care" treat for us. We have tried a couple other places but have decided that none of them hold a candle to Goody's. On top of quality product you get very friendly service each and every time!!! I can't wait for summer when we can go there for Thrifty brand ice cream, which they also happen to carry (year round, it is just too cold for ice cream to me right now).

We use to come here all the time as our kids were growing up and the donuts were great. Stopped by today march 5th 2023 and the donuts and didn't look as good as they use to be. The maple frosting seemed thin and the bakers dozen doesn't include spinkle donuts ??? Since when normally it was only the bigger cinnamon rolls and fritters . The maple bars didn't look like bars either kind of jagged looking . Love supporting small buisness but the quality just isn't there anymore.

Great service. Great flavor. #myfavorite!

Excellent Donuts. First time visiting today, and the Donuts tasted fresh, the bars were perfectly soft on the inside, slightly crispy on the out, and the chocolate and maple icing was delicious - not overly sweet but bursting with flavor. Old fashioned was amazing as well. There has not been a lot of Donut places which deliver so well: and I've tried plenty from Chula Vista all up to Rancho Bernardo - little hole in the walls to gourmet "fancy" places. Through it all I've been locked to my ol' regular plac

Been going here since I was a kid. I will purposely go out of my way to stop by Goody's to get their Turkey and cheese croissant. They have the best in town! Love this place so much and hope they stay in business forever.

The guy inside is always super friendly, the donuts are always so delicious ( my fav is definitely the maple donut with bacon). The store is always clean and the service is fast.

Best donuts in town, I drive 12 miles to here, I pass many other donut shops to get here. I always try to patronize independent shops rather than the chain shops. You must try their cream puffs, golf ball size pastry filled with cream and only 50 cents each.

The donuts there are amazing. As a local who has lived here for many years, these are absolutely the best donuts I have tasted in San Diego and the world. If you're visiting San Diego, or you live in the neighborhood, this is the place to go. Yes, it may look a bit old here, but the donuts are amazing, and the service is top-notch as well. The people working here are really friendly! I really recommend it. Best donuts (and cheap too!) in San Diego, hands down!

A pretty average donut place. The usual donuts are there, at the time $1.10 each. I tried a regular glaze donut, and it was quite dense and thick but still soft and chewy. It didn't have any greasy after taste, so that's a plus.

Super friendly team here. Also the donut options are nice varied mix from every other mom n pop shop in San Diego. All the stand bys are here for sure, but there also a Bavarian cream, blueberry jelly, crueller, and more.

They were open on Christmas Day!!! Not a place to go if you?re on a diet. Huge, fresh and delicious. Be sure to check out their crime puffs. Light and not too sweet, just perfect. We noticed all the patrons we bumped to were regulars leaving with big boxes and bigger smiles. We bought a dozen and they were devoured quickly.

We have been going to Goody?s Donuts for years. Norm, Gia, Irena and Lisa are the hardest working and most humble family we know. Their breakfast sandwiches, donuts and cream puffs are the best. I bring the cream puffs or donuts to all parties I attend.

Wonderful tasting donuts. Decent customer service :/ they charge to use cards to pay. Seating is usually limited on weekends due to an elderly group that takes all the seats.

I been going to Goodys for over 25 years amazing family shop best and biggest donuts in town cheapest price Norm and his wife and family do a great job serving Sara Mesa. Thank you for loving Your community?

Donuts are great until 1pm. After that. They get stale and hard. So get some early. Incredibly friendly staff. Comfy dining area. Great price too.

Amazing little doughnut shop. Goody is probably the nicest person ive ever met. He wants every customer to leave happy and caffienated. I think of being a kid and getting doughnuts with my grandpa every time i go here. Love it.

Happy to support our local business. Delicious clean Covid safe. Thank u for your hard work so the neighborhood can enjoy Goody's donuts!

Excellent old fashioned local donut shop. I go in every few months to bring donuts to work and everyone loves them.

They are very nice people 10?in customer service chocolate bar and sugar donut holes are my favorite I come here to get ice cream in hot days they have pastrami ,ham , turkey sandwiches and you choose from regular bread or ?? croissant ??so good .

Simple shop, early hours. If you're in the area, I'd suggest stopping by. A solid donut spot.

Love the donuts here, especially the custard filled. Very fresh and tasty. Friendly staff. Very reasonable prices.

Really cheap prices for the donuts , i got a cinnamon roll , chocolate donut and 4 little mini chocolate and glaze donut for $ 3 .00 but they were just alright

Been supporting Goody's Donuts since I was a kid and when they were located across from Taft. Never disapointing.

Best donuts in San Diego, by far!! And very friendly.

Family owned business very friendly. You have to try there croissant sandwiches or everything is good

Good donuts and coffee in the morning, but the place could use a ceiling fan or air conditioning. Uncomfortable inside.

Decent donuts, great prices. Coffee was was pretty good too.

The best donuts ever and I worked at Winchells.....

Great donuts. We have been going their for at least 12 years.
