It feels like you're biting into a cloud! Donuts are so fluffy and delicious!! Sausage and cheese kolache was good too! Maple bacon donut just seems weird but all the flavors work well together and it is amazing! Nice customer service. Definitely recommend!

I dream about their donuts. The best I have ever had anywhere. If you get them early enough and still warm they just melt in your mouth. I remember the birthday cakes my mom use to get when they had a place on Staples in Six Points area back in the 60's. I always get an eclair for myself for the drive back home with a dozen for family.

The blueberry cake donut was delicious, but the kolaches weren't great. They have a drive through window as well as a walk up window; no seating at this place so it's grab and go ordering. The staff member who served us was helpful and efficient.

I just wish, that when I order a Sausage and Cheese Kolache, there would actually be a cheese slice or similar, around the meat link. Just feels, like I'm being slighted, by it being apparently, in the meat link, where you can't even taste the cheese. It's the reason, I prefer, the competitor. I want to come here, because it's closer, to my home, but I'm reminded, by these kolaches, why I don't come often.

The prices on donuts are good here. The donuts looks sloppily made, but they taste good still. Their strawberry jelly filled is the best donut I've ever had, and I always try to come get more of these. Virtually all donut shops sell raspberry as their only red-jelly donut, so I was shocked that Gate's actually sells strawberry jelly donuts. They often sell out too. Make sure you come early before they close or they run out of the donut you want.

Drive thru is always fast for your morning fix of donuts and kolaches. They have a walk up window as well. The donuts are always fresh and so delicious

The only place I want donuts from. So fresh and delicious. She sells out quick so go as early as you can. The blueberry donut is my favorite but honestly, they're all delicious. You can try a plethora for less than 6 bucks too.

This donut shop is a gem of a find. Being from McAllen, I relate this location to Shipley's in McAllen, iykyk. All their donuts were amazing. It is family owned & operated. The kolaches were so delicious and so soft. I prefer the sausage cooked a little more, but they were fine. We will be back any time we stay in the area.

It's a great donuts store, they always sell fresh donuts, do not forget mini donuts, those are so crispy and delicious. The price is so good for all types of donuts such as strawberry, chocolate, Mango, ginger, creamy and caramel.

Best donuts I've found anywhere. Going there since 2009, still great quality. Of course the earlier the better. I used to be first in line when they opened in the morning.

I try to support local businesses as opposed to national or corporate chains. I've driven by Gates Donuts oodles of times and finally stopped in about a week ago for the first time! Their "Long Johns" -- bavarian cream filled eclair style donuts are to die for --- in a good way! I love their friendliness and well, just personality. Support this business. They've been around a long time, and I hope we can help them continue for years to come!

Generally I really love this place. They have great donuts and love supporting local businesses, however today when I drove up the cashier didn't have her mask on and only put it on as I was driving up also I could see in the shop that others in the back were not wearing a mask. Really disappointing this pandemic shouldn't be a controversial issue on doing your best to protect your customers. I'll just have to take my business else where. One of my favorite donut shops ever! Their cake donuts are awesome! They have a bacon maple frosted long john that is great! I really like their pecan roll donut. They are open early. The staff are always very helpful and nice.

Stop by very early just to get a warm donut. Years ago a friend of mine used to invite me for warm donuts. This year, took a bite it was cold. The Comanche was cold too ?? . What happened to the best quality of Gated donuts? Wish they were as good as they used to be.

Do not waste your time patronizing this donut shop. Much fluffier donuts and tastier kolaches can be bought from the friendly, efficient and polite employees at CC Donuts on Everhart. Since I found CC Donuts, I drive the extra mile or two to get my sugar fix. I usually buy enough to freeze for later and have never been disappointed with CC's products.

The donuts are delicious. Glazed melts in your mouth and kolaches are masterfully prepared. The only and I mean only drawback is that they are hugely popular and run out of product. But if you are there early and go through the drive thru then your morning is made 100 percent better

No customer service skills are very rude. Donuts are greasy. One bite will leave a pool of oil in your mouth. They are yesterday's donuts refried and sold as fresh.. super gross ??

If I could give this establishment -5 stars that's what I would rate it. I went early and specifically asked for burn my mouth, fresh out of the grease HOT donuts. I saw the fryer drop some into the grease... the donuts I was given were already in the glaze. They were warm at best, then the fryer and server both started arguing with me about it. Really good doughnuts and friendly staff. I pulled in the other morning way before they opened. Wasn't sure what time they opened. As I started to drive off a very friendly gentleman stopped me. Told me to pull back around to the window. He served me 45 minutes early. Very appreciative

I've made the out of the way trip to this donut shop each week. It's up on Alameda, even though our office is South of S.P.I.D. Fresh donuts just done better than other shops.

I?m highly disappointed in Gates donuts worker, she wears glasses and is always there. My child asked if they had churros and the lady responded. ?WE DONT SELL ANYTHING MEXICAN OR MAKE ANYTHING MEXICAN?. My daughter was confused and told me mom just get one donut I felt so bad she said that. I?m sorry we looked Mexican and we asked for churros. We didn?t mean to cause a problem with her. I remember buying our wedding cakes and birthday cakes from Gates Bakery back in the day and then we started getting the donuts every morning before school for myself then my kids when I became a mom. I just moved to Corpus Christi from alabama. In alabama when we wanted donuts wed go to krispy kreme and wait for the hot sign! Loved it. I was saddened when i moved to Corpus and realized there was no crispy creme. The first placed i tried was dunkin, then tried shipleys. All of the donuts at these places were bland and very dry! Looks legit as far as donut stores go, and the iced sugar cookies are the perfect middle-of-the-road texture - not too hard, not too chewy, not "Lofthouse' soft, just right! The icing even tastes a bit like donut glaze, that's new.

Better than Dunkin or Krispy Kreme, but IDK why they had lines waiting both at the drive through and the front window. This was the first doughnut I'd had in over a year, and I'm like... It's a doughnut. They were sold out of a LOT of varieties by the time i got there. Perhaps if i had gotten there when they open and gotten my preference of a cinnamon roll instead of a glazed twist, i would've been more impressed.

Very rude lady! My niece was so embarrassed when the owner berated her for asking about an item that they might sell. Never going here again! What happened to customer service and just outright being kind!? Especially to children!?

Best donuts in town but they run out quick these days. Used to get donuts between 10/11 a.m. Now they just close if they sale out by then where as before they would make more and stay open till 2 p.m.

I just moved to Corpus and was disappointed with a couple donut shops I tried until I found Gates. Fresh, cooked perfectly. Cake and buttermilk are the best here but everything is great.

Light and fluffy donuts. If you go early they are still warm. Hands down better than any large donut chain. You wont walk away with a stomach ache from all the preservatives in chain/grocery stores.

I went to gates donuts for half a dozen well I payed about $3.00 plus tax when I tried it was very hard lacked the glaze runny they tasted like they were 2 days old. go too dunkin donuts instead.
