Customer Reviews

It's like a cute Walmart. They have so many good selections of food meats, donuts, coffee, water, chips ETC. Very good snacks. The lady at the meat store was super nice. And I demolish the waffles there super-duper good.

I love this place! Drive here over Ellsworth for the special touches and homemade everything! Great selection, amazing people and my niece likes Dunkin donuts?!!!

Great little corner market! We've been patronizing for many years. They offer a variety of homemade prepared food, nice deli, fresh veggies, large variety of beef cuts, pork and chicken, well-stocked grocery section, camping/fishing accessories, souvenirs and a lot more! Amato's and Dunkin Donuts inside seating and drive-thru. Lots more.

When traveling along Route 1A between Bangor and Ellsworth, G&M Family Market in Holden, ME, has become my go-to spot for all my needs. Here's why this market plaza stands out: 1. Gas at Dysarts: The convenience of having Dysarts gas station on-site is a major plus. It provides a convenient fueling option for those traveling through the area, saving time and ensuring a smooth journey. 2. The Store: G&M Family Market boasts a diverse range of offerings. From fresh baked goods supporting local bakers to an

Love Amato's ?? Got a couple Italians. The store is very clean and lots to chose from. They have something for everyone. I couldn't wait for a bite before I took the picture. ??

Small grocery store but has all the items you want. Less stock than Walmart, but seems they still have everything Walmart does. Pleasant atmosphere.

Amatos real Italian sandwich very good! Great service

Great store, there's a few different businesses on this location, they have a Dunkin Doughnuts and an Armados inside the Family market (grocery store) and you can also get Dysart's Gas/Diesel at the pump and get your tank filled up here as well all on the same location! Great staff (Especially the evening crew at Dunkin) and above all else all businesses have reasonable prices and that's where it's at. So with that all said this is the reason why I give this location a 5?? review, I think it's well worthy o

Vince is the man and he knows how to treat people and he?s amazing as his job. You?re very lucky to have him!

Great store to get your groceries. I enjoy the pre made meals. They always have great meat selection.

Perfect for the things you need, along with local goods.

Great spot for groceries or food (grab and go or made to order).

Disappointed get keep ALL the hard liquor behind the counter so it is impossible to browse.

Interesting little market. Huge selection. Fresh meat deli. Beer cave. Good price on gas. Just about everything you might need for your time in rural Maine. Plan on more visits and will do a longer review at a future date.

My grandson took me there to buy some Houlton Farms butter because wanted me to discover how tasty it is. Well, the shelf was empty. It seems that it is not only tasty but very popular. The dear cashier lady promise that there would be more Houlton Farms butter delivered the next day and she would put aside a pound for him. She kept her word and I enjoyed it on my toast.

Great little market has all the essentials plus fresh meat and produce, bakery offerings, and a prepared food and dessert counter. There's a beer cave, a Dunkin with a drive thru, plus an Amatos pizza place inside. They also have a gas station. Employees are more than competent. They actually care about their market.

Nice selection of goods. You can for the most part complete a full family grocery shopping trip here as long as specialty items are not the focus. Pre-prepared sandwiches are tasty. Great for a snack stop before a trip to Acadia or for a day outdoors. Extremely convenient as gas is avaliable as well as a coffee and sandwhich shop attached.

This is a local grocery store that has things you wouldn't exactly expect. It has all the essentials including a Dunkin on the side. The folks behind the counter are always friendly. Tim is and always has been one of the very best people there. I truly appreciate them all for their hard work and selection of well stocked goods.

Great little market with a good selection of items. They also have a Dunkin and Pizza place in the store. Always worth a visit as they run quite a few deals on meat, they also have some unique items like bacon wrapped corn! Cookies and sweets are also epic!

They have a little of everything all meats vegetables fruits also a dunkin donuts

By my go to stop for many a years heading for I-95. They have everything from A-Z and more.

Really wonderful local market. Has Hannaford products and a nice little deli. If you live here and visit often, everyone knows your name. We are so lucky to have this place near our home.

Love this store. I'm from PA, and I never had a store that one stop for all! Great food, liquor, and beer and stakes and smokes! I want a store in a pa like this! The lady who was cashier was amazing!!!

Great meat selection ( I travel from Ellsworth) The best chicken pot pie ( I go there for this) Friendly Staff Usually well stocked. I recommend giving them a try.

Great store with everything you need

This is your oneb4?4??j stop shop right here whatever you need they got it covered whether it's gas groceries or your just looking for a bite to eat and a coffee look no further this place there is a Dunkin Donuts with a drive thru and they also have Amatos and you can gas up at the pump 24/7. Very Clean and professional

Love this store! It's a good stop for traveling, camping, fishing, normal everyday shopping...you name it. It has everything....from fishing equipment/gear to meat and groceries to camp accessories. There is a Dunkin Donuts on site, as well as a Sub Shop. I stop all the time when the family and I go fishing...also a great stop as an in-between stretching the legs stop from Bangor to Bar Harbor (or anywhere along the Maine coast going down Route 1A.). They also have gas pumps, and Air for the tires. Everyth

Best pit stop ever. Over to the right, fresh fruits and vegetables and a huge variety of meals. I chose ribs and they were meaty, tender, and tasty - what a surprise for a gas stop! Big selection of things in the store, Clea and spacious, Dunkin donuts inside. Bathrooms clean. Plenty of parking. If I lived closer, I would come back to try more meals including their apparently popular chicken salad with grapes and walnuts. All the staff was excellent and friendly. Highly recommend!

Great store to hit coming back to Bangor area from Acadia national Park and coastal place but I try to avoid during tourist season

The cashier was more than nice. Being from NY he said he had family there. It was very cool to be treated so nice. Makes me feel very comfortable because my daughter goes to college right down the block. I was far away from home and he made me feel like I was right down the block!

This is nice town market. Reasonably good supply of groceries and beverages, with touches of a general store. They have selections of souvenirs, some hardware items, a few seasonal items. It's there to serve the community, so it may have what you need, so check it out before going into the city. Then, for toppers, there is an Amato's counter for Italian sandwiches and pizza. AND there's a Dunkin if you need a coffee and can't make it at home. At times, it gets congested at the registers; that's about the

It is a great place for grabbing the necessities, convenience but also large grocery section, pizza and a DD at one end. Prices on most items are better than large stores, especially the steaks. They are now Hannaford brands, They still have plastic bags! if you don't want to bother with Walmart or big Hannafords!

"The porta potties are cleaned regularly." I don't think so. Also, our Maine wild blueberries turned out to be spoiled and dripping, and we needed to throw them away, basically immediately. Meanwhile... Freshies, 1/4 mile down the street, had fresh CLEAN bathrooms, with soap. Highly recommended!

The staff here are extremely helpful and extremely nice. There is a Dunkin' donuts inside the variety store, as well as the convenience store, and a grocery store. It is also the last stop before 25 minute drive to Ellsworth, so it is a very convenient stop if you need gas, food, convenience store items, and much much more. G&m variety has been around since before I was born and have only ever expanded and improved.

I love G & M. I've been coming here for decades. It's clean, organized, and fun to explore. There's something for everyone. Some of the staff have been there a long time. You haven't been to Maine if you've not stopped here.

Anything you need make sure to stop at G&M, always have great service from Dunkin to amatos and the cashier's are always so friendly.

Had to stop in because I forgot an item when packing for camping. The store is well stocked and very clean but the prices were high. I was buying something that I buy all the time at Hannaford so I know the price. It was almost double what I usually pay. It was very busy which surprised me.

Excellent selection of vegetables and fresh wonderful meat selections everyday. Desert, beer selection, they offer all. Armados pizza & Dunkin donuts is also located on the premises. But do try their delicious homemade meals to go or huge whoopie pie, all a sure hit. Perfect stop for fuel, local treats, beer & all your needs.

Nice little market , clean, great selection s , we was visiting from out of state , easy access . Was kind of surprised they didn't have any Maine tourists garb , like stickers or magnets or collectibles! All good, recommend !

Good size family market for your meal and homed needs. Nice selection of foods baked goods, meats fruits, veggies, freezer and snack needs as well. Plus some household cleaning supplies, pet supplies and toiletries items you might need. Also you can grab dunkin donut drinks or snack when on your way out door unless store okay having it when walking through shopping. Which asking first if drinks and food are OK or not before first time at this market. Had low stress and anxiety which is big issue with myself

It's a market with a dunkin and a gas station. Traffic light here sucks but the place is pretty swell.

I was driving to Canada and stumbled on this very nice store. Gasoline and diesel fuel are available here. Full grocery store selection. Plenty of prepared food that is ready to eat. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. Great place to fuel up and get some food.

Very nice employees the store will have anything your looking for great place ??

Glad we have a grocery store between Brewer and Ellsworth. They have some amazing, hot food cooked in-store as well! Best of all, the owner does a lot for our local communities as well. Would rather invest my money at a family run business like this that gives back rather than a big box store any day.

Great stop for gas and bathroom before Calais crossing. Attentive staff and lots of items and snacks for travelers

Great service, friendly employees, prices vary. Great prices on meat but some of the other prices will pinch your wallet, mostly last minute forgotten items like bug spray and sunscreen will cost you about $10.(You can buy meat for a family of 8 for that price here too)

Excellent service, selection and quality for all grocery items. Excellent meats. Huge selection of beer in the beer cave. Having Dunkin Donuts, Amato's and their own deli provides multiple meal choices. They serve a lot of meals all day, every day. You will be pleasantly surprised and make G&M a regular stop.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great deals on different meats. Also nice to have Dunkin' and Amato's inside. (Hope I spelled those right) You can also fill up on gas all right there in a convenient location.

Why is almost everyone who works here so unfriendly? Given the inflated prices, I would assume they are getting paid decently. Squeezing a "hello" or smile out of any of them shouldn't be so difficult. Cool little store but needs major work on customer service.

We are SO HAPPY to have G&M be the store closest to us! We are there throughout the week and everybody working is so nice :)

Good prices but one of the cashiers was pretty rude, literally dumping my basket out and shoving things into my bag angrily. I hope her day got better but she made me reconsider shopping there again.

Very over priced, but my family loves to shop there, the meat is very nice. I have found that it?s hard to get someone to help you or answer a question, other than that it?s very clean and has lots of local Maine products. Amatos was very good also, incredibly clean.

Good prices/customer service and offer Veterans discounting for Canadian's. Clean room but older air conditioning unit in our room that cooled but took some time.

Parking can be tough here. Very busy. Great store, amatoes sandwiches, dunkin donuts, they have a really good deli and store as well. We go here often and will continue to.

Extremely expensive! I wouldn't have purchased anything, but I was in a hurry and needed a few items. The checkout staff I encountered seemed unhappy. Were they overworked? Underpaid? Just having a bad day? I hope their lives improve.

Nice store for groceries if ya don't want to run into Ellsworth or Brewer.

Shopping here for more than a decade. Amazing prices for genuine home cooked foods at the Deli!! I have never disliked anything I have ever tried. Everything is delicious so far!!

Great Market on the Way to Camp, Dunkins and Amatos Built in. But would be a great place without them too.

Amazing establishment Vince NEEDS A RAISE so kind and funny also very warm hearted

Love this place. Has everything you could want. DD, Amato, Hannaford, and Dysart gas. Employees are great.

I love this place! There's such a variety of services here! The location is awesome to read between Ellsworth and Bangor. It can be tricky getting out of there because it's a four-way intersection.

Family owned business, they donate to their community, and they have some of best staff a customer or owner could ask for. It was pure genius to turn it from a corner store to a small grocery store for all of us out here in the sticks.

Conveniently located and has a good 'country gocery store' selection of items and food, including a deli and butcher. They also have a Dunkin Donuts. However, they also have a sign on their restrooms specifying that the restrooms are only for "customers making purchases at this location" which to me seems very tacky. I normally don't use a stores restrooms unless I'm shopping there, but I feel it highly unnecessary to make me feel obliged when I'm answering a call of nature.

Great convenience store. Our first and last stop when going to Bangor from NB. Has a Dunk'in doughnuts and and Italian fast food restaurant. Good wine and beer selection. Clean washroom and friendly staff.

They need to make more peanut butter Whoopi pies, they say they sell quick, well if that is the case, make more than the regular ones

I have been shopping at this store for years, as far as the store itself I would give a 5. But lately some of the staff aren't over friendly, they act as though it is a chore to wait on you...my advice to those few, if you don't like your job, find another it hurts the reputation of this store who has ALWAYS shown pride!!!!

This was always a great spot to pick up extra supplies and necessities, especiallywhenheadingsomewheretogo camping, etc. Since it expanded a few years back, it has improved greatly, especiallywith the deli. Everyone that works there has been very nice as well.

Nice clean store with very helpful employees. Would have been 5 stars if they posted holiday hours

Quickly reached from the ?Harvest House? or ?The Bonnie Lass Cabin? off of SR 46 in Maine. Excellent service and comparable pricing. A One Stop Shop for visitors enroute to Acadia National Park!

Great place to stop if you only need a few things and don?t want to drive into town. Unless you are looking for something specific or special they will have it. All the staples are there as well as a small bakery and some produce.

The meat department is one of the best around. You cannot BEAT the prices. I have never bought a bad package for the price. The cuts have always been extremely tasty.

We stop I would say 90% of the time when heading home from bangor. Great store and bonus great Dunkin coffee for the ride over rt 9

Alway's friendly and helpful. One stop shop and many different pastrys you don't see in other grocers!

Very nice and friendly. The staff is very helpful. If you can't find an item, they let you know where you can find it, if they know. ????

Great little store with alot more stuff than expected. It is a very well stocked and varieties store. Fantastic for people in the area.

The owners of this market have made a landmark for the area. They have literally everything you need for your day to day as well as anything you need for a camping trip or outdoor adventure.

A great little market. Good selection of food in the deli, meat, and groceries. Friendly staff. Easy in and out ..

I'm from Ohio, and I'm here visiting . Stop into this store, and it's so cute, and the employees are so nice here.

Friendliest market ever with tons of conviences. Prices often competitive with larger grocery stores. Dunkin and Amatos on premises, fantastic bakes goods and meat department. So blessed to have this family run establishment in my back yard of Holden.

We were in Maine for 8 days, stopped at this market several times, every time treated with courtesy, everything you need and even had my favorite beer from Vermont.Excellent folks work there.

Nice, family grocery store. Great variety, Friendly service.

Great l8cal grocery store.

These folks are the best. This little market has just about anything you might want. Meat and produce is topnotch. Incredible sales that are hard to beat. No spoilers here! Stop by and see for yourself.

Perfect in between stop between Bangor and Ellsworth / MDI area. Has a Dunkin donuts attached as well as amado's inside always a great place to stop and fuel up your car and your belly when headed down east.

Has always been a super friendly place to shop. New owner is really making an effort to serve the community. I try to shop here as much as possible. They have been steadily been adding organic items.

Delivering parts one day for my business and was out of gas and they went above and beyond to help me get cash for gas when my card didn't work at the pump and their atm was down. Very friendly staff.

Great staff! Very clean! Great little grocery store. Great food..

G&M is a supermarket/grocery store with the addition of Dunkin Donuts and Amato's food and beverage outlets plus a small selection of hardware and outdoor items. It has everything folks living outside of the Bangor/Brewer and Ellsworth markets need in a nice central location. Great selection at fair prices.
