FunkyTown Donuts and Drafts

Reviews Summary

Funky Town Donuts receives mostly positive feedback for its fresh, creative flavors and high-quality ingredients, with many praising the unique, gourmet donuts and gluten-free/vegan options. Customers highlight the friendly staff and fun atmosphere. However, some criticize inconsistent service, bland taste, or poor handling of custom orders. Negative reviews mention issues with vegan availability, early closures, and unfulfilled promises. While most love the texture and variety, a few find the donuts overpriced or artificial-tasting. The shop excels in innovation but struggles with reliability for some patrons.

Customer Reviews

Driving around and this place caught our eyes. We decided to stop by for Donuts, I mean, why not. So many donut flavors to choose from. We got the Rhubarb filled donut and Strawberry shortcake donut. The rhubarb filling was absolutely delicious. It wasn?t too sweet or tart, but was perfect! Definitely a must try. We also got the Strawberry shortcake donut which tasted so fresh and creamy and wasn?t too sweet either. Both were so yummy!!

Had a caramel macchiato coffee and some kind of raspberry chocolate doughnut. Do yourself a favor only get one doughnut. They?re super sweet and creamy. Funky and modern decor. Corner location and parking is pretty easy for downtown.

Greet with a beautiful smile, and she recommended some of her favorites. The bacon maple donut was pork-a-licious. Our nieces and nephew loved them as well. Also had enough seating inside and out for a girl day out.

They have the best and most fun donuts EVER! They are fresh and so CREATIVE! I make a trip here almost every week just to see what's new! The staff is so friendly and nice! I called once because I couldn't find a parking spot & they brought my order to the car! I ABSOLUTELY ?? ?? LOVE LOVE ?? this place!

We have been wanting to try this place for sometime now. We had the chocolate, lemon raspberry, & strawberry cheesecake. The donuts were just ok for me, kinda bland actually. They just didn't have much flavor. I guess I was expecting a bit more from this place. The selection was also very limited to what I'm used to seeing in a donut shop. The service however was awesome, so fast, helpful, & patient. The little shop was also very nice & clean.

This is such an adorable and fun establishment! Very welcoming environment and truly fantastic donuts! Everything here is so beautifully decorated and tasty!

Amazing donuts and great people! I had the blackberry cobbler donut, blueberry cobbler donut and assorted donut holes, and they were all delicious! They were fluffy and sweet. The lady working the counter was patient and helped me decide which of the donuts to try when I couldn't make up my mind. I even recommended them to other people who were attending the conference I was at!

I love this place!! The cashiers are always so kind and the donuts are DELICIOUS. I just wish this place was open on Monday! I always come for the donut holes. And to whoever keeps ordering all the vanilla donut holes: I am very unhappy with you. But game respects game, and you clearly have good taste.

I grabbed a baker's dozen for national donut day to bring to work. Everybody that worked there was really fun and the local beers they have to go in cans are also really good. I loved experimenting with them. The donuts were killer and everybody loved them

Pretty good donuts just next to Sundance Square. They have vegan options as well. Good place to get that sugar fix. They also have pretty good sausages as well.

My wife and I stopped to satisfy our sweet tooth after the arts festival. Britney was very helpful while we chose our donuts. Everything was amazing. The portions were perfect and we left happy. Thank you

We?ve wanted to visit for a while but it never worked with our schedule (we?re from out of town). We stopped by on Sunday morning - glad we did. Employees were very friendly - everything looked tasty and it was hard to pick. We ended up getting a classic glazed, chocolate glazed, apple fritter, and a jalape?o bagel dog (as well as a coffee). The donuts and fritter were great (as expected). The real surprise was the bagel dog. It was spicy and the bagel was tasty and chewy. I really enjoyed it - I wish I ha

The donuts are great, it's small so don't expect a large selection. It's expensive, but worth trying. I was satisfied with the overall experience.

I tried them for the first time. I ordered a glazed a bacon and an apple fritter for about $8. They were fresh the bacon donut was the best. To expensive to not be the best I?ve had in Fort Worth. Service was exceptional

Opening day visit. Staff is super friendly. My friend tried the Texan donut with brisket on it. She said it was delicious. I had the berry bramble tart, it was good as well, had the right amount of sweetness. I like the shop concept, you can also grab a beer here if you really want one. I?m concerned the seating area is small and may get really crowded. Wishing success to Funky Town Donuts.

You have to stop at FunkyTown Donuts. They are the most delicious yeasted donuts I?ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying. They were all so good but the vanilla glaze was the best.

Cute bakery to stop and get a treat whilst in downtown Fort Worth. A few vegan, dairy and gluten free choices available, which was great! The donuts were tasty, everything was decently priced, and there was a nice seating area outside. Would recommend :)

My family and I were in Fort Worth visiting from South Texas, and can I just say, they have an awesome product! The flavors they offer are so creative and bursting with real essence of the flavors. I'm a Fort Worth native myself, so the name is awesome and I can't wait to visit again. I met the owner, Brandon, and very rarely do you have owners who will come out to you and make sure your experience is enjoyable. And the young lady who helped us that night was so pleasant and knowledgeable. We'll definitely

Workers were really nice and seemed happy to be working even though it was New Year?s Eve. We tried 6 donuts and liked them all. We will definitely return next time we?re in Fort Worth.

While visiting, I was on the hunt for unique eatery and came across Funky Town Donuts. Very chill space and sweet staff. I partook in a Strawberry Shortcake donut which was delightful. Moist, not to sweet, it was just right. I wish I could have had a bite of them all. It would be great if they had half portions to try them all. Coffee was good. Will definitely visit again if the opportunity arises!

The shop is beautifully set up, cannot find places like this in Oklahoma !!! The bacon is delicious and the strawberry shortcake is to KILL FOR. Food and environment overall was great!! Only downside was an employee, Dani or Daniel or something was just having a bad day apparently and took it out on the customers. Often on her phone. But surely coming back for more donut holes!!!

Mixed feelings. Donuts change every Sunday which is nice since you get fresh options on a weekly basis. But the taste is something different. If you are looking for a classic doughnut, this is not the place . I would recommend hypnotic donuts. But if you are willing to be a bit more adventurous, I would try these.

Stopped in after our pre Christmas Eve Downtown Fort Worth stay for something sweet! Tried the Mexican Hot Chocolate (Bambina didn?t like), Apple Fritter w/Pecans (Her favorite), Blueberry Maple (my favorite), & The Nut Cracker (we both enjoyed). Staff was nice and recommend if in downtown trying this quaint little Donut Shop out.

I drive 30 min out the way for this place and walk several blocks for these donuts and I have been coming back for years. Mmmmmmmh like they are sooooo just mmmm mmmm good. You can see and taste the vanilla bean inside the dough Please bring back the donuts with marscapone inside (probably misspelled that but ya know). Those are one of my favs but everything is good. Can?t go wrong with the donuts here and the people who work here are very kind and knowledgeable.

Such a quirky shop! So many interesting and unusual donuts! And they have so many drink choices! And all donuts are made in the shop! So much fun!

This morning I bought 3 donuts. I ended up grabbing the maple bacon donut first? I?m still over here thinking about it??I should have bought at least two! Most definitely will be back sometime this week to grab two!

Great donuts made fresh every 2 hours. Flavors change so it's never the same pmave twice. Enjoy donut with wine, mimosas, beer, hot cocoa, etc. The staff has great personality. They are helpful with recommendations and explaining how everything works. Limited seating, bar seats looking out and a few low table and chairs.

This was such a neat experience. You can fall in love with their funny humor and awesome sweets. They have a variety of yummy donuts. Definitely loved the donuts holes.

This donut shop is great. I come here at least every other month for donuts to cater my client. The service actually is not great however. I would recommend the donuts.

You MUST stop when you hit up Sundance square!!! To say the doughnuts are amazing is an understatement!! The flavor profiles are layered and just to die for. Better yet there's always something new as they change up the flavors every month. Not only do they have doughnuts out of this world you have to stop by for breakfast and get a everything bagel kolache! Life...changing! 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend...in fact if you go to Sundance and don't stop I have pity on your soul ??

Awesome, super fresh and tasty donuts. Some of the friendliest people around. Pleasantly surprised when we opened the box. Funky Town donuts is a must do in downtown Fort Worth!!??

They offered special tummy Girl Scout cookie flavored Donuts during our big GIRL kickoff event in Fort Worth's Sundance .

Traveling from out of town and love to find the local spots. This place was great! So friendly and fantastic donuts. They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays because of covid for right now!

Had a mediocre experience getting donuts here. Ordered online around 9 am on a Saturday and all food options were available for me to order. Went to pick up my order at the time given to me to pick up and it didn't look busy but my order wasn't ready when I arrived. They had also sold out of the sausage and cheese rolls that I had ordered and I was only told this information once I was at the counter. If they sold out, why was I still able to add them to my online order?? The donuts were okay. They tasted a

I love this place, yes it's pricey. You know what's also pricey? Hurts donuts. More even. And they don't even taste different from average donuts. Anyone that recommends hurts donuts over FTD, doesn't love you. Funky Town Donuts taste wonderful, the texture is somewhere between a donut and a yeast cinnamon roll. They taste better than most donuts I've had by far. They have assorted donut holes and you can get one flavor or a mixture. They are seriously so good

Funky Town Donuts is a delightful haven for donut enthusiasts! Their inventive flavors and whimsical designs make each bite an adventure. From Sopapilla to Strawberry Banana every visit to this unique and scrumptious shop is a journey into donut bliss. Donut lovers, rejoice!

Donuts and beer, how could you go wrong?! And the donuts, for "gourmet" donuts were reasonably priced and so was the beer. $6 beer and if you bring the cup back they give you a half price fill. And to make it all even better, FTW allows open container!

The donut was not bad, it's okay overall. The icing was slightly sweet and the donut part was good.

WOW!! Great Donut! Little something for everyone. I?m a big hot donut fan so would love to have a few hot options. But for a great room temp donut this is the place.

Cute little place with not your run-of-the-mill donut flavors! Great coffee drinks and brews available too!

stop cuz this place like actually eats.. like i was like BYE cuz why is this good? like i was not expecting anyone to greet us so nicely. also yall we?re rlly spilling ?? like trust me i heard what y?all were saying behind the counter ??

Love checking out their different donuts! Tried the bacon donut, Raspberry lemonade donut, watermelon donut, reeses chocolate donut and horchata donut in this trip here.

The lady behind the counter was helpful and kind, however, the cashier was sitting there on her phone, rang me up and didn?t say a single word to me, very stand offish and rude. Awesome vegan options though!

Everyone in Sundance Square was walking around with mint green boxes today and I had to find out where they were coming from. Today is their first official day of being open and this place is amazing! Best donut I've ever eaten! ??

The donuts are beautiful, super sweet service, but underwhelming texture and flavor.

Brother took me yesterday morning and these are the best donuts and apple fritters I have ever had! Brought some back to Conroe for the family to have as well! This is an awesome place with a great selection!

The donuts were pretty good but the service is lacking. Not inviting or welcoming at all. No smile or greeting. The lady working today maybe was just having a bad day, who knows.

Walked in inadvertently a few minutes before they open ? most donut places open like 530-6a, but not Funky- but the doors were unlocked and people at counter. All i got was an odd look and told they weren?t open yet. I realized it was like 6:57am ; so that 3 minutes has permanently lost a customer who would buy a couple dozen each time

I?m not a big fan of donuts but the kids love them. However, this place was pretty darn good. The horchata donut had just the right amount of sweetness. The staff was also very friendly.

Anytime we go in they are the kindest people. I?ve been coming here since me & my boyfriend met 5 years ago & the owner always goes out of his way to say Hello, ask us how we?ve been, and pack our box of donuts. Every time I have extra time we stop at funky town donuts. Best donuts ever & the nicest owner. Always thankful for small businesses, the hospitality, and yummy treats.

Candied BACON on a Donut! ?? It was very yummy! Wish it was Keto. Lol??

Had a pretty good donut for breakfast and the woman who rung me up was very nice. Came back an hour later to get one for my wife and two other woman were at the desk, very rude did not speak to me at all and did not ask if I was eating it there like the first woman had. When I had asked for it to go they Proceeded to shove my whipped cream covered donut into a bag getting the cream everywhere and ruining the look and my surprise for my wife.

Great unique variety, along with a couple of classic flavors. They also offer a couple of gluten-free options . They also offer local craft beer and wine. I highly recommend the maple candied bacon donut.

I work downtown and see this place all the time. I don't eat donuts, but my wife loves them, especially real ones (not Dunkin or Krispy Kreme), so I brought her downtown for lunch and took her to Funky Town for dessert. They closed at 3, so I was relieved we got there by 2:45. I noticed there were no donuts in the display case, but the sandwich board was still on the sidewalk with monthly specials and I confirmed closing time on the door. Unfortunately, the door was locked and the employee inside was ma

Beautiful looking donuts but the taste was very bland. My husband and I went on July 1st after reading their great reviews. We got a chef?s dozen because I couldn?t decide and I knew my children would like to try a variety of different flavors. The two young ladies we interacted with were nice. One young lady did say they had just changed their flavors after I asked which ones were most popular. So disappointed to have paid so much for bland donuts. Maybe they were off because they just changed their flav

The donuts are very average and the prices are a bit high. This place is in a prime location and has a lot of potential, but the energy doesn't seem to be there. reviewing pics online, I was excited for a variety of options. However, they did not have much variety when I visited. I enjoyed my donut, but would not put this place on any kind of donut map worth stopping at. The staff were a bit disengaged, too, which I'm sure can't be good for business. All in all, just an average to subpar place but benefits

Was so happy to find a gluten free donut on National Donut Day!!! Had to travel all the way to TX to find it, bur FunkyTown did not disappoint.

These were the BEST donuts I have ever had in my entire life! Fresh, fluffy and flavorful. The unique flavor choices they had were really fun, I especially loved the hibiscus lime. The shop is adorable and their coffees were tasty as well.

Full discretion, I wanna like the kalache. I tried them like three times. But there's something about them I just don't like. Everything else their is awesome. The apple fritter; awesome. The donut holes; satisfaction. The maple bacon; stellar. My coworkers and love donut Fridays. The young ladies who work there are always helpful and awesome.

Pomegranate Glaze was really good! Staff was very friendly would definitely come back and try other flavors

Sundance Square in the morning looking for a cup of Joe. The coffee was good and reasonably priced. We sat outside and enjoyed the views of downtown

Terrible experience! They came to a school event with 500+ people attending staffed with just the owner and 1 employee, yes 1 employee!!! The line was 45 minutes long? no exaggeration. Dozens of people were complaining. My advice? do not reward them with your hard earned money. Especially if you value your time.

AMAZING!!! Had everything and jalapeno bagel dogs which were fantastic! Also tried the Tiramasu donut, which was one of the best donuts I?ve ever had!! Highly recommend this place!

We got a jelly donut, chocolate, and Nutcracker (Nutella with candied pecans), but I?d only recommend trying the jelly.

A handful of gluten free options had us hightailing to FunkyTown. It?s rare to find gourmet flavor gluten free baked goods... ESPECIALLY donuts. Call ahead. Lots of items were sold out when we visited on a Saturday night. Yes...you read that correctly...hunting down gluten free donuts on a Saturday night. If your ?New Year?s Resolution? is to count calories or eat a normal and balanced dinner... then *don?t venture to FunkyTown for donuts. But if you?re fun-loving and in the mood for maple bacon, passion f

This place has the best donuts! Try the Key Lime.

They have THE BEST gluten free donuts I?ve ever had!!! I do wish they had more of a selection, but it?s more than anyone else has! My family loves all of their other donuts and the kolaches/piggies (whatever you call them). We frequent here. Definitely go!!! Take them to Sundance Square and people watch. It?s a whole thing!!

I love the donuts and all the unique flavors! Such a fun spot and I love bringing new people here! Most of the girls behind the counter are super friendly and helpful! There?s one clerk who doesn?t really fit the vibe though, and always comes across as pretty rude, not only to customers but her coworkers as well. I wish I could order the unique flavors online so I could avoid such an uncomfortable interaction. With my most recent order I ordered 6 donuts and then asked for two additional donuts in the same

Tried the blueberry cake donut and it was very spongy and the artificial flavoring was off putting

Great service and delicious food. We ordered a giant donut for my father in law?s bday and they were extremely helpful in making our request happen on a short timeline. And most importantly, he loved the donut! Thanks yall!

Wonderful place with great drinks, yummy food and amazing staff!

Fresh, Fresh ,Fresh. Funky Town Donuts puts so much pride in their scratch made donuts you can taste it!!!

I am a wedding planner and we worked with FunkyTown Donuts and Drafts for a big wedding and the donuts were a HUGE hit with the wedding guests. We literally had to guard the donut wall because guests were trying to take donuts before the bride and groom had a chance to take their first bite! There was some, but not a ton of leftover donuts because the crowd just went wild for them! It was a pleasure working with FunkyTown Donuts on this wedding and I hope to have them back for future client weddings!

We received a gift certificate for this place and we are grateful for the impeccable customer service. I emailed a question and they responded and were more than willing to accommodate us. The location was clean and the front desk were very helpful. Everyone loved the donuts and a friend said the bear claw was the best she ever had.

First time visit: Easily the best looking doughnuts I've seen. Bravo. That's what got me in the door. Even drove out of my way to go here. Unfortunately, they are the worst tasting, By Far. Not even close. I'd rather give up ?? than eat these. I got a good variety and "tried" each. They all had the same terrible dough and bland "flavor". I would never eat another, even if free. Minus 2 stars. 2 Employees upfront. 1 friendly. 1 rude. I'll let them figure out which is which. Minus 1 star. Running out of c

They have 3 vegan donuts (which coincidentally are gluten free as well) which are baked instead of fried and about the size of a small tart. Its 2.50 for one which is pretty steep. They were delicious but more like cake than a donut. I kinda wish they had vegan donuts that were actually fried.

Other doughnut places do not compare. Try the amazing maple bacon or lemon blueberry, they were both phenomenal. Good location and exceptional service. Will stop by again next time I'm in town!

Absolutely love this place! I'm so thankful they have vegan options and I'm always treated extra sweet!

Excellent donuts. Good selection of great flavors. Helpful service.

Best donut place in the area hands down!! The owner is really nice!! I definitely recommend this place!! This is my GO TO PLACE for apple Fritters?? plus their donut holes. Definitely worth the try!

Very expensive with limited selection. Kolache was good but has onion or garlic on the dough which overpowers the whole thing. Too expensive ($63) for quality and selection

You make the order online and they wait until you get there to claim they aren't making anymore of a certain donut but are making of plenty others. Maybe make a call to let the customer know. That could help. It's also professional.

Cool little place with unique offerings. We kept it simple with the donut holes(chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon) and a everything bagel dog. Both good. The bagel dough on the dog was a little dry/chewy. Counter Service was fast and friendly. Also grabbed a can of rose to sip as we walked around the square.

Drove 40 minutes specifically for their vegan donuts. Parking was extremely difficult. Then when I arrived they only had 3 donuts available. Matcha, chocolate & chocolate with sprinkles. They had run out of the vanilla. I decided to get the chocolate. They just weren't good. The texture was off with it being baked and not fried. I also ordered the Vanilla rose latte. Now that wasn't bad. They have tons of creative donuts. A suggestion would be to expand their vegan selection especially since they only have

CUSTOM ITEMS: DO NOT ORDER* Complete disregard for customers time when ordering a custom item. Do not order from here if you are depending on the item being ready by a certain time. I placed a custom order 24 hours in advance (per their "rules") for a 10am pick up and when I got there at 9:45am the donut hadn't even been CUT. It then had to be fried, cooled and decorated (for my sons birthday) which would have taken at least 30 more minutes. They claimed the reason for this being so last minute was for "fr

Every time I've ever come to this location, there have been issues. It's one of the few places I can get Vegan donuts for my daughter, so I occasionally come back but I'm always disappointed. I've called and requested the last vegan donut be held and offered to pay for it, to be told yes but to pay when I arrive, and still watch them sell it to the customer in front of me. They also dont seem to actually start making their donuts until the store is open, so god forbid you come early for donuts, because all

This place claims to be vegan friendly but will only sell vegan donuts on the weekends. The one time I finally am close to Fort Worth is for work during the week, and I cant take advantage of it since I live far and am home on the weekends. Just because you serve vegan options a couple days out of the week doesn't make you vegan friendly. I cant even buy any! I'll give Cinnaholic my business, they are vegan friendly.

The Best doughnuts I?ve ever had in my life!!! I mean what more can I say?!? Super soft flavorful and not too sugary! Priced reasonably. Sorry but I ate them too fast before I could take a photo!
