Friske's Farm Market

Friske's Farm Market

Reviews Summary

Friske's Farm Market receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, with most reviews praising its family-friendly atmosphere, excellent baked goods (especially apple cider donuts and cookies), and quality produce. The indoor/outdoor playground ($5 fee) is a major draw for kids, though some find this charge unreasonable. Many highlight the friendly staff, delicious cafe food (pizza, sandwiches), and unique offerings like cherry products. While some criticize high prices on groceries and food items, most consider it worth the cost for the experience. The recent renovations and seasonal activities (harvest festival, pumpkin picking) are frequently mentioned as highlights. Negative reviews primarily focus on pricing concerns and the playground fee. Overall, visitors highly recommend it as a fun, quality destination despite the premium pricing.

This was a fun place to stop!! Good place for kids to get some energy out. All of the play items are new and of good quality. Please note, wrist bands are required to play in the play place, they are $5 for kids. Adults do not need to buy a wrist band. The market itself is also nice to visit! I highly recommend the sparkling cherry cider and the sugar cookie with homemade buttercream frosting!

Fun place to shop, eat and take the kids to play. The indoor and outdoor play areas are clean and fantastic (it?s $5 for an all day wrist band), the selection of gifts/products are wide ranging and the baked goods are delicious. Highly recommend getting a cherry glazed donut. Best donut I?ve ever eaten. This place is a must stop.

Great place! We have 6 kids, fun for everyone, food was great, playground was nice, clean and fun. I have never seen an ?air trampoline ? like that. Whole property was 10/10. Only concern was I am very protective of my family and there was some clown mocking me for being overprotective.

Politics aside, the products here are generally really nice and the new facility is lovely. The donuts are great and the jarred pie cherries are delicious. I miss the old baked goods selection though as the new giant cookies aren?t personally my thing. But is is especially nice to have them open year round and I always look forward to the spring asparagus particularly. I do wish they were able to offer local kids a playground pass of sorts because it?s pretty expensive if you aren?t a tourist passing thr

An wonderful place to visit and pickup incredible fruit, treats and products from their farm and other great producers. Very nice restaurant, kids play area, U-Pick in season and so much more. While we sure enjoyed the old facility the last time we were in the area several years ago, this new facility offers so much more in serving their ever growing customer volume. Wonderful job to the Friske family and their staff!

Kids favorite place to play indoors or out, parents happy to visit too. Great pizza, phenomenal carrot cake! Recently ordered a full carrot cake for a birthday party and everyone loved it. Appreciate the events like Santa visit and animals on occasion too. Must visit.

I came here last week to explore with my friends. Wonderful shop with a lot of goodies. What blew me away the most was the bakery. Homemade scones, donuts, cookies, pies and they all looked delectable. It was one of my friends birthday that weekend and she loved sugar cookies the most. I wondered if they might make a "cookie cake" for her. Not only did they oblige, but they had it made the same day. The taste? The best sugar cookie I've ever tried. Crumbl doesn't hold a candle. The texture was perfect, thou

I LOVED all the options! There's so much amazing looking food that is local, unique, and delicious! I could spend HOURS just looking at everything ?? This time, I tried some pickles, eggnog, and this ginger molasses cookie sandwich with eggnog buttercream. I could very easily drink their eggnog and eat this cookie creation every single day and never get tired of them. All the pickles I've had so far have also been amazing! I would highly recommend coming here!

Very well thought out! Great pumpkin prices, over 100 pounds, 35% off. Fun indoor store with many yummy options. Tasty pizza and lots of outdoor covered seating.

Amazing time with my kids, you do have to purchase a wristband and that was great, but if you want to do the other things you need to buy tickets . The food was absolutely amazing we had pizza , a homemade apple pie my first impression was 10 outta 10 ! Fall festivity?s on point !

This is one of my favorite stops when I am in the area. They have delicious baked goods and amazing selections of Jams, fruits, fresh vegetables and, other great sweet treats.

This place was an absolute treat to visit today. Drove past it and saw the park outside which is what initially drew up but after going in and seeing all they had to offer I was really blown away. My kids had an absolute blast, the employees went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and give suggestions, and everything we tried there was amazing. The coffee, the donuts, and the chocolate covered cherries are all things I can vouch for. If were ever in the area again we will definitely be back.

We love bringing the whole family. Please bring back the chicken salad deli sandwiches! ?? We used to drive there just for that, but the past couple of times didn't see it. Lot's for the kids to do and great gift shop and baked goods. We always find something.

Great spot to stop and see. Cage and shopping

The New building is clean and amazing, with lots to offer. A great place for lunch or dinner with the family and an even better stop for a quick bakery item / cherry product. Don?t forget, the brick oven pizzas are a must try! Well done Friske's :)

Nice farm market, I hesitate calling it that because it is so much more. They have brick oven pizza, fresh baked goods, fresh produce, jams and jelly, lots of trinkets and gifts. They have a great children?s play area ($5.00/day) it has a jump pad, zip line, tactors, ship, swings and so much more.

New building is awesome. Food in the Cafe was excellent. Plus I got my Carmel apple pie. No matter where you are in michigan it's worth the drive

Definitely one of my favorite places to go to in Michigan. I travel quite a ways to get there at least once a month in the summer and fall. Their donuts, cider, and everything in their restaurant part are amazing and the service and staff are super friendly and helpful.

This was one of our favorite stops on our RV trip through Michigan. We were looking for tart cherries and missed the season. John Friske, a 3rd generation owner was quick to help us find alternatives and spent quality time ensuring we had the best experience. The staff was excellent and they had a huge selection of all local grown fruit & produce. They have a huge kids play area and ample parking. Do yourself a favor and stop in Friske?s Farm Market, we?re sure glad we did.

Best Farmers Market Ever!! Simply amazing in every way. Exceptionally clean and organized. The bakery, the product selection, and service are exemplary. Every time I drive to Petoskey, I stop and get fresh donuts and fresh fruit. The playground for kids is beautiful too!!

I want to shower praise on Friske?s Farm Market and Sonshine Blossoms for the care and energy they put into a surprise birthday present I set up with them for my aunt. I ordered flowers over the phone and requested some simple things. Then I used their online ordering system to buy some food for her ahead of time. I did this all from a different state. Perhaps the best part about this was my aunt?s reaction when she told me how well the staff treated her. Thank you!!!

The food and staff are the best! We had a chicken & Bacon ranch pizza.....it was delicious. The owner found out it was our anniversary & offered to take our pic. ??

Stumbled upon Friske?s on our drive, turned around to purchase some peaches after we saw the outdoor playground. It was a bit rainy so we ventured inside and discovered an indoor play area as well. Great way for kids to burn off some energy in less than ideal weather. Indoor and outdoor play areas, bakery items, coffee, cafe.

Friske's is a fun place to stop. They have great produce and products like maple syrup and jam. The donuts and pastries are awesome. We tried the Deli too. The sandwiches were really good but expensive at $16.99. The kids enjoyed the outside playground too (but it costs $5 per kid).

New storefront, Cafe and expanded kitchen and bakery. The Pumpkin cinnamon sugar donuts are warm and so good. Gifts of all kinds from puzzles to kitchen tea towels which I purchased 3. Apples beautiful.

We had a great time at the harvest festival. My only suggestion is next year.... Get double the hot dogs lol

I absolutely love Friske's! I appreciate all the healthy options for snacks or for a meal. They also have perfect items for gift giving! I truly can not say enough! Five Stars!

Always a favorite stop when in upper Michigan! New petting zoo, a Noah's Ark play area for the children, nice fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, great Cherry pie, cookies, donuts and the best Cherry Fritter I ever had!

Made a stop there today on our trip to Traverse. Very disappointed that they are charging $5 a kid for outside playground and $5 for inside playground. WHY? Yes all the prices of food go up and yes your prices are higher than they used to be at your old farm stand. But no reason to advertise a playground and then charge families. Sad , but we won't be back.

Stopped here with our camper. Plenty of parking. Adorable outside play area for little kids. Beautiful store, cafe and bakery inside. We picked up some delicious fresh fruit and tasty baked goods. Very nice unplanned stop.

Very fun place to take the family for a day of fun...Many different things to keep you busy. A park hay ride apple smashing and eating stone fired pizzas. Don't forget the delicious doughnuts and cider, pretty mums and the beautiful view from the hill!!

Stopped (as usual ) on our way home to Holland from Charlevoix. Picked up a few donuts and some asparagus. The asparagus was simply amazing. ??????

Lovely place. It was just a few minutes from us from the vacation home we were staying in. Went there twice because my daughter loved the giant bounce pillow and playset. I picked up some of the chocolate covered cherries and they were delicious. The workers were very nice and smiling.

We came for the indoor playground (in January) and stayed for the delicious pizza. We had the Hot Honey Goat Cheese and The Heimer oven fired pizzas. While they were both delicious, The Heimer really stood out to us. The indoor playground was just the right size for our 5 and under kids to burn off some cabin fever. The restrooms were well maintained and clean. Both men's and women's had baby changing stations. The automatic flush toilets and hand driers freak out our 3 yo, but I'm sure he'll get over it

Nice place. Stopped to use the restrooms, then walked around. We got donuts, fresh and yummy

I had a blast here! Outside there is a lookout tower next to a neat water feature. Then go over and feed the goats and look at the rabbits. Beyond that is a playground that is soooooo fun. I drove both tractors, hehehe. I tried my hand at the water pump rubber duck races. I checked out the sand pit. OH MY WORD the ark is a trip. There are swings and a Corn Hole game. I tried guessing the answers to the bee questions, I did not get one correct. The views are to die for. Be sure to take your Inner Child to th

Amazing!! The place is beautiful, fun and amazing! This is the second year since the renovation and I've brought my daughter both times. We had so much fun this fall with all the activities added. Apple launch, Zipline(for kids!), and pumpkin smashing. Highly recommend and they have the biggest pumpkins!

They charge you to go on their playground! Like who does that?! especially when their food and products in their store is extremely high priced ! not worth the price and then if you wanna go outside and go on the playground and you have to pay!! forget it don?t waste your time

Back for the 2nd summer in a row. Shopped for bread and cheese. Ate a wonderful lunch- shared a pizza, Opa cuban, and I think it was the Oma - chicken, tomato and basil... All of us were happy

Great produce and bakery. The mini cherry cheesecake is delicious!

Baked goods here are exceptional, as is the customer service. Hot lunches are great too.

This Market place is big and has a cafe inside with great food. Awesome outdoor sitting area with great music. Such a fun playground for only $5. Small kids Zipline too. This place is very family friendly.

Placed an online order the week before Christmas. Received it way sooner than anticipated and everything was packed so well. Friends and family are going to be thrilled with the wonderfully yummy products we know that Friske's always deliver.

We've driven by numerous times and finally decided to stop and check out Friske's - we had no idea what we were missing! We had their sandwiches and pizza for lunch and both were great. Even their soda was unexpectedly good (I recommend the cherry cream). We bought a variety of baked goods and all were amazing. I highly recommend the blueberry lemon scones and the All American pie (apple/cherry/blueberry crumb). Our kids also loved the outdoor play area.

The staff was very friendly large parking lot and outdoor paid play area for kiddos! The cherry and blueberry doughnuts were FANTASTIC. I really loved the Pure Michigan Montmorency Cherry Juice it was like drinking a cherry pie!!

The best service I have received so far in Michigan. The best tasting apples I have had in the state so far. Excellent facility with courteous staff.

Fun place to stop for lunch or snacks. Expansive gift shop, pasties, fresh bakery items, pizza and local farm produce. Don't miss this place!

From fresh doughnuts to fresh hot pizza. This place has it all as your one-stop shop to bring the family and enjoy great food. Lots of outdoor activities for the kids all fenced in and protected.

Wonderful pizzas, sandwiches, and sweets. All employees are very courteous and polite. I enjoy the cheerful atmosphere. (Jeremy-give me a sweatshirt)

Best cherry orchard I?ve ever been to had in house bakery with the best freshest cherry pie money could buy had a great sit down pizza cafe that was pretty awesome girl making the pizzas did an awesome job! Cherries were delicious they had you pick but I opted for two lbs which was $10 could have not been more pleased the friske?s generations went out of their way to please a very cherry hungry crowd with ease btw must try the cherry donuts they are always fresh and go so fast might have to wait on next ba

Great place, one of the best cookies I?ve eaten

What a Great Place and Such Nice Folks!! My Wife and I spent the day at the Friske Farm Market in Ellsworth, MI for Freedom Fest 2021 and had a Very Nice Time!! They were such fine hosts, everybody was Happy and Smiling ! The food was Excellent, the Hot Fresh Donuts were Fantastic, and the folks who took care of traffic control and parking did an outstanding job!! The Speakers were All Top Notch, and it gave one Hope for the Future of Our Constitutional Republic!! We traveled several hours to attend their P

Give it a 4 star just because they say they say 2 and under is free. My son is 2 and they still charged us! BUT everything else was great! The play land for them, the extremely knowledgeable tractor guy! And the amazing cookies ??

Well... my extended family members have been coming here since the farm was Elzingas. (Back in the mid/late 70s) The cherry donuts are the best donuts on the face of the planet. Thank goodness they haven't changed them. The people that work inside are always sweet, helpful and patient with our huge family and complicated orders. I appreciate the family friendly Christian music, and the unapologetically conservative views Friskes has (esp during Covid). I like the renovation. It's gorgeous- there is plent

Great pizza, super fun indoor and outdoor playgrounds but there is a $5 wristband for *each. Restaurant is good. Store has quite a bit of farm fresh and specially foods and tons on knickknacks of that's your thing. I gave 4 stars because everything is a bit overpriced compared to the surrounding area. That said, definitely a great stop for kids if you are in the area or traveling through.

It's an amazing facility, very well done... As a Traverse City native I'm impressed. However prices are ridiculously overblown... Think you spent a lot at the grocery store? When you see grocery related items here you'll see what I mean. I guess tourists will pay, not me!

This place is always on my list of stops when I head north! I got some great jams, preserves and cherry coffee! They also have stormy Kroger hats!

It was amazing indoor play ground and outside the only downside is the foam pit in the inside play park is not deep enough for some people. The food is great the donuts are wonderful. The slushy and pop is wonderful too. I would recommend. Definitely coming back

The remodel at Friske?s is amazing!! To have been a resident of northern Michigan my whole life and to see this local, patriotic, American loving, family business thrive is amazing! And their oven brick pizza and homemade breadsticks are incredible. I love this place so much! :)

We stopped with the kids, great fun, as one of our kids put it?best park out of all the parks I?ve been to in my life??? Bought some cherries, played some corn hole, got some souvenirs, had a great time, highly recommend!

Our family has been visiting Friske for years. It seems as though since building the new facility, their vision had changed. We used to have a great family experience going there purchasing their products while the kids enjoyed their wonderful playground. Now it seems that it?s all about how much money can we make? Product prices have increased. They now charge per child to use the indoor playground and separate fee for the outside playground. As a kicker, when you pay for your products, you get a 3% surch

Great family destination! Awesome products. More importantly, wonderful family.

So much fun, apples to pick, great ?? doughnuts, cute shop, and good values held by the owners.

The donuts here were amazing. We ended up taking a dozen, because there were just too many good flavors. The cherry was excellent and the blueberry even better. The gift shop, too, was nice.

Great stop for everything from produce to baked goods! Mini corn maze, playground and cute animals for kids to enjoy.

Love this place. We go here a lot and spend a lot of money - but enjoy every minute. Would have offered a 5-star review, except they had a large sign in the front for an absolutely horrible Presidential candidate. That really turns off a lot of potential customers. Might want to rethink that.

We love Friske's Farm Market, the donuts and other treats are amazing! Rich, John and the enire team are great!

Cutest Farm Market along 31, an amazing playground set up for children...rows and rows of sunflowers and their fresh fruit, vegetables and baked goods are out of this world!! Cute souvenirs too

The rhubarb custard bar and cherry cheesecake cookie were delicious!

Heidi and the Friske Farm Market crew just fulfilled an extra special order for fresh, seasonal, cherries to be sent to my sister in southern Michigan for her birthday! They were beautifully cold packed in a styrofoam cooler, with our requested birthday greeting included, and arrived on my sister's door step the day after they shipped!! She was so excited and pleased to receive 5 lbs of plump, juicy, sweet dark red cherries for her enjoyment...and my brother in law's. ;) Cherries are her most favorite snack

Great place with lots of interesting items.

I?ve been coming to Friske?s for 10+ years and will never stop in again. The charm of the old building has been taken away from the new one and the set up is one like a barren store with no personality. The amazing food choices have been cut in half, the price of the food has sky rocketed and the pop they offer is absolutely horrible. To top it off?.if you have small ones that want to play on the playground, prepare to pay for it! $5 per play area per kid?..sad to see what once was a great place to visit i

Nice shop, it has changed a lot in the past few years

Bakery case was low, they had to get our stuff from the back. It took a little bit.

Attended the Saturday festival with the family. Kids had an amazing time with lots of activities provided. Facilities were clean and the staff friendly. Prices were also very reasonable, which you don't normally find with festivals.

Stopped here for peaches. They have everything imaginable in a farm market. They also make a lot of their own food. Huge playground for the kids.

Three lines to get donuts and drinks. Kids running the games that you have to pay for on top of buying a wrist band. Says warm donuts, they were not. Kids without supervision. Wagon ride was informative.

I love this place! Customer service is always fast and courteous. Great selection and fresh products. The huge kids play area is perfect for the little ones. Come out and enjoy all they have to offer.

Friske family you have knocked it out of the park! I would always stop for a donut when nearby and have to say I was a little nervous when I saw the old place go but the new spot is fantastic.Brought the grandkids here and they have been playing for the last two hours with huge smiles on their face. Great job. Not to mention the fantastic market and all the fun things to look at. Oh and the donuts? Still fantastic.

Friske Farm Market is a great place. Donuts, cider, caramel apples, pumpkins! Gift shop, many different apple varieties to choose from. Very family oriented.

Very beautiful place to visit. Staff very friendly and helpful. There Apple fritters were awesome. Will return again.

My grandkids love the playground, and it is a great place to take them to run off some energy! A bit pricey for other things, but worth it if you don't mind standing in line.

Very fun place for younger kids!! The prices were spot on and the doughnuts were so delicious ??

Great place for fresh produce and fresh baked goods. The old store was good, but the new one is incredible.

Nice environment to taste and see the fruits of Michigan, with the ambience of farm produce in a lovely setting. The new building accommodates eating in shelter, or sitting outside with places for children to play, bounce, and explore. Large paved parking area conveniently designed for safe exit and entrance to US 31.

Greay stop of youre taking a road trip with young ones. They have everything a family could need to relax, eat, snack, and stretch those legs. They have a small play area for kids with some old tractors them to play on, a gated up area for a few animals (able to pet) and also a small, short maze to go through. Would definitely recommend this place for the family.

Best apple cider donuts I've ever had!

We stopped with our three kids because it had an family friendly playground. We ordered lunch and went to play, only to realize that they charge $5/child to play on a very basic playground. It?s one of those laugh or cry situations: Capitalism taken to the greediest level.
