Foster's Family Donuts

Foster's Family Donuts

Reviews Summary

Foster's Family Donuts receives overwhelmingly positive feedback for its delicious, fresh donuts, particularly praising the buttermilk, apple fritters, and classic varieties. Customers highlight the friendly, personable service and clean environment, with many noting the excellent value for money. A recurring critique is the cash-only policy, which some find inconvenient, and a few mention limited selection or inconsistent freshness. The shop's mom-and-pop charm and nostalgic appeal resonate strongly with regulars, though occasional complaints about rudeness or stale items surface. Most reviewers would highly recommend it despite minor drawbacks.

Customer Reviews

Such a great little spot with friendly service. You can't beat the prices, and the donuts are fresh and delicious. As other people have said, remember this place is cash only.

Nothing special here, because it just like any other donuts you see everywhere. So if you live near one, just go there. They only take cash, so No credit/debit card. It also a clean n friendly little place though.

Fantastic local Doughnut shop in San Marcos offering a great variety of flavors and styles. Cash only

Best priced donuts around. Very nice to visit. Always friendly.

Glazed donuts were perfectly glazed, without a break in the glaze. After biting through the perfect sugary glaze a thin crisp delectable layer of golden donut heightens the Epicurean delight inside for the grande finale ?, the bite that plummets to the core of the perfect donut and that is a burst of the moist soul of then perfectly baked tender dough-of the donut??

It's a basic mom and pop donut shop. The owners are very friendly. The prices are reasonable. I like their donuts and their coffee is very good. They usually open up around 5:30 in the morning, even though the sign says 5:00 a.m. they're open every day of the week, pretty hard working people. I frequent the place.

Some of the best apple fritters I have ever had! Good selection and amazing flavor. Will definitely visit again when in the area. The wife and I got 4 specialty donuts and it was less than $6. Make sure to bring cash as they don't take debit or credit cards.

Owner is super sweet. Regulars were pouring in and he knew everyone on first name basis. $12 for a dozen ANY donut unlike other places that charge extra for the bars or jelly fill. $1.60 for dozen donut holes and he always throws in extra. Awesome selection & tasty AF Found my new donut spot. 10/10

Best buttermilk donuts around. Owner is nice to regulars so there are some perks. The sandwiches are good and they never run out from my experience. It?s a lax, mom/pop shop so don?t expect to be able to pay with a credit card.

Let?s start by saying that donut shops are like a dime of dozen. You can literally go to any donut shop and not really see much of a difference. Nevertheless, what sets these places apart is the service. My son goes to San Marcos High and he has a zero period. Every other weekend I have to drive down from LA to drop him off at school. We usually swing by somewhere to get him a quick bite before school. This time, it happened to be Fosters Donut. Very convenient!! We went into Fosters, and got him a

This is one of my favorite finds since moving here. The best and freshest donuts I've ever had. And my favorite apple fritter is so popular I need to get in there early! I hope you all check this place out. This past year has been rough on his business as the after school crowd is not what it should be. Let's help another local out! ????

This is a good ol Mom and Pop type donut shop. Donuts are very good and they even have two sizes of apple fritters. The selection is best on Friday and Saturday mornings. Sunday is more limited. One thing we really love about this place is they are open till 3 pm. They only take cash I believe, unless that's changed but we just know to bring cash. There are a few tables inside of you decide to eat in.

This is the first donut shop I entered in this area. It is a nice shop staffed by nice people ready to help. It was a busy place that were served quickly. Donuts are displayed in a glass faced counter making the available sweets easy to select from a broad range of filled, glazed, frosted and plain sweets. With a dozen treats in the box I placed on our kitchen counter, it didn't take long for our visitors to smile with their selections. Donuts sales are cash & carry. That was a surprise, but not a prob

Have been their twice. The staff was friendly and it's clean. Seniors hang out and have coffee and donuts and long visits. I have had their jelly donut in my opinion it was lacking filling ??The donut was light and airy. I tried again a second time with a custard donut was awful ??not creamy very runny like colored water. This donut itself was good. Parking is easy. Prices are in my opinion are a bit high. My favorite pharmacist San Marcos pharmacy is next door. So that made up for it. ??

Really great experience at Foster?s Family Donuts today! To the owner, thank you for your kindness to my daughter and me. Not to mention, the donuts were delicious! Classic donuts are harder to find these days. New forever customers here!

I've been looking for that one buttermilk old fashioned from my childhood from the bread man that drove around called the helm's truck when i was a kid, and Foster's donuts got it, finally lol! Totally reminded me of that truck! Thank you Foster's donuts!

They have a ham & cheese or with jalape?os stuffed croissant(it's square) that is so delicious. You gotta go early cause once they're gone, that's it no mas. For $2.80, worth every penny!

Delicious donuts and the man who served me was so so nice!!! Remember to bring cash though because they don't take cards!

The donuts are fresh and have a type of crunch to them and prices are economical. The chocolate donuts taste real goid akong with the strudel and the cinnamon ines are huge they are not small really worth the price .

Made fresh daily. The selection is limited but they have the basics. They do sell out quickly because they are so fresh and yummy but they will try and make it up to the consumer by offering free alternatives. With purchase of course. Staff is very helpful and personable, a big 10 out of 10!!!

This is my family's favorite donut shop. The donuts are tasty, the owner and staff are friendly, and the prices are low. I believe they only accept cash, but worth the small hassle of stopping at an ATM.

No lines. Good price

The quality is meh. Needed a quick fix and it was alright. They really lacked variety and it was only 10am on a Saturday! Only the top shelf had donuts.

They only accept cash. Otherwise, the donuts are amazing! The selection is amazing! I love their peanut butter filled donut. It's really something special.

The best donuts I've ever had, seriously! Always fresh, (I've watched them, very early in the AM as they're making them??) The owners are very sweet ??

Didn't get to try them. They are cash only. I needed like 4 dozen so it didn't work out. Looked good though

Great donuts! I love their peanut butter donuts. I've been seen them anywhere else. The apple fritters are amazing as well.

Doughnuts are GREATTTT! Especially if you go there from 6am-7am! They are warm and soft! Must go to!

Excellent donuts, but they do run out if you don't come early enough. I guess that proves they're fresh, though.

Great donuts! Great prices! Great people! The 5th star is being reserved for when they accept cards...;)

Not only was the chocolate twist super thin (like half of it was missing) but it also tasted like it was leftover from the day before! Won't be back here!

Cash only and the guy was pretty rude about it too. Both signs that said cash only had fallen on the floor.

Donuts are really good. The only thing is it's cash only.

Not to sweet! Been going here since I was a kid and always come back when I can!

Best donuts ever!!!! Owner is super nice and the place is clean! Thank you!!!!

Not good ,not bad . Just kind of ok. We won't be going back though .I know there is better .
