Cold food and Bad attitudes. On Sunday April 27th at 9:45 a.m., my mother and I came to the Federal Donuts located on 540 South street in Queens Village, Philadelphia. Best!!!!! Doughnuts I?ve ever had in the United States. I was pleasantly surprised. I bought the 1st one to try it out (Carrot) and I had to buy 4 more. All the flavors were good but the carrot was my favorite. I love when I get good customer service it makes the whole experience 10x better. The customer here was great! They do have a seating area for you to sit and grab a quick bite or get some work done.

The service is great, and the fried chicken is big and crispy. However, it's a bit too salty. The freshly fried donuts can be a bit oily and have a dense cake-like texture instead of the usual fluffy donut feel, but they're still delicious.

Michael Solomonov hit a home run with this combo. Don?t let the name fool you too much, their fried chicken is just as much the star of this shop. Dusted, drizzled or dipped in different flavors this chicken will spark the deepest notes of your palate. Then it?s almost impossible to walk out without several of their fancy cake donuts.

Overall, the donuts at Federal donuts are just good. The donut has more of a fried texture so they aren?t dry and have a slight crunch to them. However, they lack the sweetness that other donut shops have. Their chocolate frosted could have been more chocolatey but instead felt kinda plain. They are still worth trying, but they are not the greatest of all time.

Super delicious. Everything is fresh and delicious. We order the hot chocolate super unique. We order the hot donate started with the lavender strawberrys it was delicious the smell was heaven! Then we sorder the other 2 because it was so good. Also my husband took the hot sandwiche and really enjoyed it!

The donuts were good but my experience was soured as I ordered half a dozen donuts and only got 5. I usually check but since the the box was taped and I was the only customer, I did not think it would be an issue. As the place was empty!!! The staff was also not the nicest and clearly not paying much attention. When I came in they were talking to their friends and completely ignored me. I am new to PA and this place was highly recommended but will not be coming back.

Great donuts! Sadly they ran out of my favorite breakfast sandwich. Since it?s outdoor dining and waiting, they won?t come tell you if your cooked order is ready. At the same time, they will ask you to leave if you ask before your food is ready. Finally when I went in, one employee was annoyed I interrupted her conversation with a friend visiting the store. Very good breakfast sandwich with lots of flavor and a unique square egg, kind of reminded me of quiche. The doughnuts are super sweet and very heavy but extremely flavorful. The raspberry doughnut was my favorite with the chocolate cherry a close second.

I thought the whole donut Fried Chicken thing was a little weird to be honest with you. I also thought the combination of flavors that they had were a little odd. Federal Donuts is a Chicken and Donut shop, a variation on the old chicken and waffles formula. Made on demand, the Hot and Fresh donuts are outstanding, especially the Strawberry Lavender ones. The various fried chicken glazes and chicken sandwiches are also outstanding. The seasonal rotation of fancy donuts should not be missed, either.

We flew in from Denver and Federal Donuts was highly recommended from a few people on our flight. We were staying on Pine street so we stopped at the one on South Street.
