I ordered the $7.00 breakfast sandwich. It was adequate, but the bun didn?t suit a breakfast sandwich?it seemed like it came straight from a discount bread store and lacked any real character. The pepper relish spread, however, was a nice touch and added some flavor. The staff were friendly and service was prompt. The store was adequately clean, though the selection was limited. One disappointing detail: the top of my canned drink had grime inside the rim, which was off-putting.
Ah, Federal Donuts - one of my favorite Philadelphia institutions! The donuts are so tasty yet so unique. We arrived later in the morning but I was pleasantly surprised by the selection that was still left. PRO TIP: Do not skip the ?Hot & Fresh? selection. They don?t appear in the bakery case! I was disappointed by the atmosphere in this location. It feels very food court. A lot of the furniture was piled up on the side of the restaurant. It was a rainy weekend day, which might have explained this though.
I always have the best experiences at Federal Donuts. Today I had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich which was so good I forgot to take a photo. I also had a classic vanilla sprinkle donut that was absolutely perfect. During Phish?s Baker?s Dozen run at Madison Square Garden in 2017, the band played 13 shows with no repeated songs, and each night had a unique donut theme like coconut, powdered, or red velvet. As fans arrived, Federal Donuts gave out special donuts that matched the theme of the night, which o
Best seventy six dollars I?ve ever spent on donuts, I?ll tell you that. Nothing like them on this planet and they got killed in minutes. Gonna be a monthly treat for my hard working team. Thank you!
Good news is same price cash or credit. Food is decent. Fried chicken sandwich was good. Service is meh. Unwelcoming. Store was empty which probably reflects mediocre service.
Wife got a half dozen from this location today. Every doughnut in our box tastes like fried chicken. Unmistakable and gross. You can smell the oil when you open the box. Haven't had federal doughnuts in a few years and was excited. Things have fallen off.
This was our first time trying Federal Donuts and Chicken. Who would think about mixing chicken strips and donuts??!! The iced coffee was really good and perfect for a Sunday morning. The donuts were amazing and so soft. The chicken strips were surprisingly really good. The service was good.
Stopped here for breakfast and had some great donuts! I didn?t loveeee the donut flavor options that were available compared to other flavors I?ve seen so I?m guessing they change those up. I got the s?more and hot fresh (cinnamon sugar), my bf got the pumpkin roll and hot fresh (strawberry lavender). We both really liked what we got! The people were also really friendly. I?d definitely go back and see if they had additional flavors on another day. I?d also be interested in trying the chicken.
I saw this place as recommended and it was worth the trip. The bacon ranch chicken sandwich is one of the best ones I've tried in a long time. Bacon is crunchy and chicken is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The ranch was good and the lettuce was fresh. The fries were seasoned right as well. The customer service can be a bit better (the cashier forgot the combo is different pricing) but overall it was a good one. I would highly recommend this place.
I am usually a big fan of this place but I just paid $17 for three overcooked chicken tenders and a half a bag of extremely salty fries that took 20min to receive. One staff member was at the front counter with a scowl on their face counting money very slowly and ignoring everybody while their kitchen staff was overwhelmed and in the weeds. If you?re going to serve $13 chicken tenders, they better be perfect and it?s not hard to mess up fries. Will skip this location because every other location manages to
This Federal Donuts location has always been consistently solid for me. Tasty donuts, good coffee, and great chicken sandwiches. It's not the easiest location to get to, but it's close to a bunch of other fun things to do in the area (Victory brewing, for example.)
This location is such a nice little perk for surrounding offices and anyone within the parkway radius. The donuts are great and always stocked, coffee is great, but the five stars really comes from the team. They are the kindest, most upbeat crew ??especially Sam and Sapphire! I work across the street and grabbing my morning cup of coffee was my ritual for in-office days. Sam and Sapphire always remembered me and were so sweet and made me genuinely look forward to popping in! Also I'd take their lattes over
Was not staying that far from the Federal Donuts location and decided to come in for an afternoon donut. We ended up having a Pomegranate Nutella donut and Baklava donut. Both had a lot of flavor but were very dense and heavy, not light and airy as we are used to. The pomegranate nutella combination was not as we would have imagined and the flavors did not work for us. The pomegranate icing on it's own tasted delicious and the donut alone was flavorful but dense and dry. Wish I would have gotten the chocola
Wow, Never had donuts this good. Donuts are soft and will make you fall in love with first bite. Fancy donuts are pretty good so are regular donuts. I still can't believe we finished half a dozen donuts so fast. Chicken wings and Chicken sandwich are quite delicious and totally worth a try. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back and try few more flavors. IG: journey_man16
Gave this place only four stars. Very clean and the staff is very courteous. In addition, the donuts were super delicious. The reason I gave them four stars instead of five is because there really is no signage for wheelchair access. If you are in a chair or scooter you have to go through the hotel / condominium building in the front go past the mailboxes to a door inside the building to get into the restaurant. There is no sign that says that there and you have to ring for someone to let you into the build
I like this place. Yesterday, I drove by it, and was determined to come back for breakfast. It looked like a place with cool donuts. I saw the menu online and really wanted to try the chicken sandwich, but unfortunately, they had just sold the last one, when I arrived. A food delivery was on the way, but delayed. So, I decided to just wait it out, despite the hunger. After sitting for a little while, my stomach said, ?Feed. Me. Now. Sir!!? So, I gave in, and ordered: Dry rub wings, with the coffee-bbq sau
Actually stopped here twice today. Once in the morning to get a cup of coffee and a chocolate cake donut, and once at lunch for a chicken sandwich. The cake donut was by far one of the best I've ever had. The icing was solid, the cake was soft, the chocolate was delicious. All around excellent! The chicken sandwich was very tasty as well. It did have the yellow fake cheese not fully melted on it, but the buttermilk ranch and the thinly breaded fried chicken breast made up for the cheese. I tried both
This place is a total gem. The cashiers could work on their costumer service a bit more but the cookies did great!
The strawberry one and the brown sugar one are fresh and hot but smell like chicken. Like brown sugar more than strawberry. The chocolate old fashioned one is so fluffy that I never had this kind of cake donuts before. Not really a fan of cake donuts.
Simple selection of gourmet donuts. I got a blueberry donut which was pretty good - I like cake donuts over glazed. The place was nice. Bit pricy for the size of the donut but I guess not unexpected.
Lavender fog donut was so scrumptious! They should keep it on the menu. Such a good place for a sweet treat.
Donuts were fantastic. Big fans of the Blueberry Vanilla Bean and the Lemon Ricotta. The cake batter of the donuts is truly spectacular. The Sticky Toffee Banana donut was delicious as well. Would love to come back and review them warm! We also got the chicken sandwich which was pretty dang good for a donut place. Highly recommend Federal Donuts! Delicious donuts according to my three (wife, daughter, her boyfriend). Only minus: no sugar free low carb choices. Coffee was not hot enough also.
Yet another soulless business that puts profits over people. The store is freezing cold and has no heat. It seems like management can?t be bothered to care about the health and safety of their workers, who are stuck in a below freezing building for their shifts. If they?re willing to be this bold about not giving a shit about these health & safety regulations, what else are they doing wrong that we can?t see?
Tasty cake dou !! Fluffy inside and crispy outside. 2.70 per piece
UPDATE: I've been getting federal's bacon sandwich for years and despite being a bit overpriced, it's been consistently tasty. The one I got this morning had barely any of the salsa topping and a half a slice of bacon. Again, my $7 sandwich had a half of a slice of bacon and the salsa only made it into two bites. I got 2 bites of the complete sandwich, and the rest was plain egg and cheese on a slider bun. I noticed a few people have been disappointed in similar ways so maybe they're just going through staf
Had an amazing chicken sandwich from another location and couldn't wait to try it again within a week. This location overcooked the sandwich so much, the chicken was stringy, tough to eat. Even my husband, who had to eat my leftovers, said it wasn't cooked well. I ate it pretty much right after they gave it to me as well, but felt it was almost inedible because of the texture. It was not busy at the time I went. For a sandwich this expensive I expect more.
Really enjoyed the fresh donut, what a treat! Breakfast sandwich was interesting, not sure what was going on with the egg but it was tasty. Vietnamese iced coffee was delicious as well. Friendly staff.
Had a nice egg and cheese. Roll is a standard hamburger roll. Coffee was good.
They do offer other options than Donuts but I usually come here as my Go To if I'm sick of Dunkin Donuts. These are Korean fried donuts so they might taste better though they're slight expensive. If you're new to this brand, I recommend the Cinnamon Sugar Donuts. They usually come hot so that's a plus if you're having it with coffee.
The food is incredible! The French fries are just amazing, but the best thing about coming here is the staff! They were all very friendly and polite and helpful!
Was going to give 3 stars for the significant lack of variety for a donut shop, but then I tasted the donut and it was heavenly. Just wish they had more variety!
Great service, amazing donuts & best of all they will make a proper caf? latt? in a small cup!! (normal European cup size) - very patient & professional staff, thanks for kicking off my visit to Philly in a positive way ??
Amazing donuts! Great atmosphere. Love it so much!
Update 9/2024: I actually tried the chicken (which I normally don?t eat) and the dry ranch rub on that double fried chicken dipped in the rooster sauce is FIRE!!! I can no longer say I don?t like chicken??.this was amazing!! On top of that the hot donuts are amazing regardless of the flavor. Again, I?m not a cake donut fan but these were just melt in your mouth delicious!! Add that to our server who was so friendly and gave us a history lesson on Federal Donut along with chicken and donut making in no
I consider myself a bit of a donut snob and I LOVE LOVE these donuts. The donuts themselves have great flavor and texture, and the glazes have a surprising amount of delicious flavor too. I love the available flavor combinations, which vary including seasonal options.
There is a lot of turnover in staff and often there are people who don?t know how to pour a draft latte. It?s not a great experience when you?ve paid almost $5 for a coffee and get less than half of what?s expected. Would like to see better training and more consistency. My office isn?t close to la colombe or I?d just go there instead.
The donuts were delicious! Moist and not too sweet, perfect for dessert.
Have been here 3 times. Has never failed to disappoint. They have good ?gourmet? flavors but nothing beats the OG hot and fresh flavors in my opinion. Totally a treat if you?re in the city.
We visited the place for donuts at 2pm, and they had plenty. After we ordered a dozen in total between the 6 of us we realized that donuts were not fresh. All of them were very stale and chewy. On top of that the custard on top of my donut was flavorless. I mean, it is really not that hard to have a vanilla-flavored custard. I payed $15 for half a dozen donuts that we ended up not eating and I leave this place unhappy. Why sell stale donuts? On their social media they advertise that their donuts are fresh
The donuts were amazing and the chicken sandwich I had was sublime. It was a bit on the pricey side, but it is in one of the tourist-y areas of Philadelphia. I'd recommend the Cherry Cheesecake Donuts, especially.
Great fried chicken wings. Piping hot! The chicken sandwich was good - not the best I?ve eaten, but very meaty. I removed the cheese since it didn?t blend as well. Donuts are great. Glazed was very well done. Coffee is decent. They didn?t have the Vietnamese iced coffee which was a shame.
We all know the donuts are decent, but today I wanted to give the Chicken a shot. Decided to try the Chicken Sandwich...it wasn't worth it. There was nothing that sat it apart of others out there...they put very little of that sauce on it and the cheese was that fake yellow fast food mcdonalds type cheese. The cheese didn't even melt from the hot (just fried) chicken breast...at least the breast was tender. Next time, I'll try some regular fried chicken...maybe...
Staff is awesome- friendly and fast. Donuts are amazing as usual. The chicken sandwich I got was gristley and not good at all. I threw half of it out because it ruined my appetite and I hate wasting food. Too expensive, Popeyes is better. I remember loving their chicken sandwich years ago but the last two times I have gotten chicken sandwiches there more recently, the sandwiches have been dry, tough and not appetizing. I'll stick to their donuts.
I would not come back tbh, not what I was expecting and a bit pricey for what it is.
Sweat delicious chicken sandwich, a very strong competitor to Chick-fil-A. Not to mention the donuts
The donuts are great as always. The chicken tenders maybe not so much. I tried both the barbecue and honey mustard sauce, but neither really worked. I don?t know if it?s the sauce or the chicken, but a so-so experience. But the donuts!
I went to this establishment. I ordered a chicken sandwich and a donut. The sandwich looked nothing like the picture. The sandwich was dry, hardly had any sauce. I was pretty disappointed. The donut was delightful, the only issue was that it smelled funny. I'm not sure if they remembered to change the oil. Please do better, higher prices should mean better food. Also, I was overcharged too.
The donuts are very good. The coffee not so much. The chicken s?ndwiches are OK. There is ten percent service charge on all orders. I bought a half dozen fancy donuts and the total came to almost $18.As good as they are, I don't think they are worth that much. If I were craving a donut really bad after I got off work and I was too lazy to go to a nearby Dunkin, then I might go back. But
The staff was warm and so were the donuts. I?m not a huge fan of cake donuts, but even through that lens, I just wasn?t a fan. Flavor and consistency weren?t distinguishable from a grocery store donut. Decent prices and selection.
Had a bit of a bad experience getting there, city traffic (not the stores fault) but the help from Courtney once inside, absolutely made it worth it. It?s hard to come by good workers but it?s better when they?re good people too! Thanks again, turned my afternoon around.
Such an expensive and disappointing meal. The prices for the doughnuts are not clear and it was 17 dollars. Also the flavors of these doughnuts were so heavy you really can get through it. Then the chicken was flavorless and dry which is likely why they kept pushing sauses. I am super disappointed
They are best doughnuts place in Philadelphia, And now they are getting expensive
Better than Dunkin donuts. About $3.50 for a small donut. Tasty, very limited options. Limited price signage and then a note that says all orders include mandatory 10 percent gratuity which is scammy in a tourist area, especially when then the pay kiosk also asks for gratuity prompts. We won't go back.
Donuts are always amazing, along with the chicken sandwich. The staff is extremely friendly
My chicken breast was extremely dry. There was an extra $5 service charge for my order. I ordered my food over the phone and picked it up. When I asked why was I charged a service fee? What was the charge for? The employee had the hardest time explaining and finally said its so they can pay their employees a higher wage. I hope that?s true.
Each person has specific responsibilities and a warm welcome for customers. The pride in craftsmanship resonates thru the last bite! Customers are treated to a wholesome atmosphere where personal chats and computing are a natural complement to better than fast food dining. Chicken sandwich must be eaten. Take the donuts home and savor. Bon app?tit! #LetsGuide Philadelphia
The wings were good HOWEVER, I ordered 6 WINGS for $11 but instead I got 6 portions(3 flats and 3 drums) equivalent to 3 wings. COUNT YOUR WINGS BEFORE YOU LEAVE. It was a rip off and it?s fraudulent.
The warm strawberry lavender old-fashioned donut was amazing. So fresh and much fluffier than most old-fashioned donuts.
These donuts never disappoint. I tried the chicken wings for the first and those joints slapped. I should have gotten more. But there?s always next time.
Doughnuts are nowhere near fresh, and almost no selection at 4pm (3 choices left). I am never going back, even Dunkin doughnuts are better and cheaper.
The best donuts I ever had!
Very nice place. Friendly staff. Good food.
Overall good. The amaretto donut was exquisite. Coffee was decent. The breakfast sandwich was lacking. Perfect for a quick donut stop.
(1-10) Coffee: 8 Donuts: 5 Egg sandwich: 3
Good? Yes Overpriced? Definitely. $9.50 for a chicken sandwich? 3X the price of chick fil a and the quality is comparable.
delicious donuts with lots of personality. this location is newer, so they don?t run out of fancy donuts as quickly as the other locations!
Great service, amazing donuts and good coffee
The donuts are so good! The staff were also friendly and really cool
Missed the mark for me with the donuts and food. Disappointed
Get the fresh hots -- made just for you. The chicken sandwiches & chicken tenders are good too.
Go early in the day for a larger selection. They made a few of the current months star donuts for me and they did not disappoint.
Good food. Little bit of a longer wait than expected, especially since the sotre wasn't that busy. The food was hot and fresh though.
Food was good but the prices are ridiculous 2 chicken sandwiches was 21.60
Best donuts for n philly. This location is no different than the others in terms of quality
Got cinnamon & brown sugar doughnut and it was homemade and delicious and hot!
My first time there, the people are super friendly and the donuts are awesome
I was a bit skeptical about them but they proved me wrong. Great food and the chicken sandwich is on point
Its a good one? try cinnamon doughnuts or strawberry lavender?
4.1 Food: 4 / Service: 3 / Atmosphere: 5
The donut circle really great I went there twice in a row
Fried chicken sandwich is not worth for price
Hot and fresh donuts are really good
Really friendly staff and really delicious donuts!
Donuts are average and chicken sandwich too
Federal donuts saved my life.
Great service for a large order for an event
