Another local favourite, it seems! Very affordable prices at $1.50 each for great quality donuts. If you spend over $5, you can pay with a card. Decent amount of options to choose from despite coming more later in the afternoon. I really recommend the classic glazed donut. It was very soft and fluffy. I would totally come back again when I'm in the area.

Stopped in today (day before Easter) as the place is in my neighborhood and I was interested in what they had. Bought 3 donuts, which came to less than $5.00! The square glazed, the round peanut one, and an eclair/ Bavarian cream. Each one was great. My husband raved about them, too! I could see why they were busy, with many customers buying a dozen donuts.

Not a bad little donut shop. Went because the hype looked like it would be awesome it was ok to be honest. They only had a handful of flavors and types. The staff seemed nice and we got in and out of there within 5 mins. Got a glazed twist and cinnamon bun type donut. It wasn't too fluffy-ish but more on the dense side was tasty but not my favorite place I've been. They only really seem to take cash and only allow card over purchases over 5 bucks. Just wish there was more variety for the hype of reviews.

Never a bad experience or a crusty donut! We needed donuts for my employer's Mardi Gras celebration and I reached out to see if we could place a somewhat large order with specific sprinkles. I was unable to find a large amount of the color scheme but Famous were gracious enough to try and accommodate our needs. Went for donuts this morning on a whim and was not disappointed. Got a fresh glaze donut ($1.15) and a bag of day olds ($1.50), which has 6 variety donuts in it. All the donuts were delish and the day old ones just needed a little reheat. Definitely recommend checking this place out for great glaze and "simple" fancy donuts.

Their donuts are the best crunchy on the outside it's soft on the inside fluffy soft the only thing is I would like them to be open 7 days a week

I love that the doughnuts are glazed and have frosting too, definitely unique in that aspect. They also have a nice moist, dense, chewy yet light fluffy texture, really good doughnuts, not as dry as some chain doughnuts get. Also for $1.50 per doughnut, and deals with coffee, the value is great. Only downside is there are not too many options, would love an oreo flavor.

I went here for the first time yesterday. I visited around 3:30pm so I was a little skeptical as, in my experience in the past with other donut shops, late afternoon is often not the best time of day to get a "fresh" doughnut. I got a dozen donuts for a co-workers. The strawberry glazed donuts with the rainbow sprinkles tasted like a childhood birthday cake for me. It was unbelievable. It was like a time portal. If you're getting a variety, please don't skip that one. It's so good. ?????

Wow, I inhaled a glazed donut in 40 seconds. So delicious. Soft and squishy, a nice thin layer of glaze. Completely satisfying. The other donuts were yummy as well, lemon filled, apple fritter, peanut, and fruit filled. Definitely a treat! Thank you, we will be coming back for more!

Famous Donuts has been around for many years. I've followed them each time they changed locations. I have tried Donuts from everywhere and famous Donuts have always been the best donuts. They use high-quality frostings and fillings whereas other places may have bigger Donuts but the quality of the fillings and glazes are not as good. The staff is excellent and very friendly the owner is very nice and always has a kind word to say.

While famous might not have the variety of doughnuts as their competitors, the quality is what keeps me coming back. If you want a doughnut at 4 in the afternoon (and who doesn't) then this is my go to. While some places have stale doughnuts towards the end of the day every time I go they still taste fresh.

While Paula's might have fancier doughnuts, no one locally can beat Famous for glazed, yeast-raised doughnuts. They make all their doughnuts fresh on site, so sometimes they run out of things or you might have to wait a minute for a new batch to come out, and these doughnuts are definitely worth the wait. All I will say is Paula's Donuts. Famous has no flavor; no love in the recipe, presentation or service. The glazed taste like straight sugar no cinnamon, nothing. Also, not much variety. Did I mention the young lady put all of my donuts in a paper bag mind you I had a chocolate Bavarian as one; no wax paper, nothing. They are fundamentally good doughnuts, but depending on when you come in (we were there at 10:35am on a FRI), your choices may be few, indeed. (We selected from four varieties. We overhead that new batches were one hour away.)

The only real original doughnuts of Buffalo NY. Cakey, buttery, not overly sugary as Paula's it's. They are a take out only place and located within the City which are probably the reasons that most people seem to prefer Paula's, but if i wanted to go buy a donut I'd never go anywhere but Famous.

What's there to say? It's a doughnut shop. Yes, they're famous and with good reason. Their doughnuts aren't as big and showy as Paula's, or as hipster and kitschy as Fry Baby, but if you want a solid cuppa joe and an excellent, freshly made fry cake for $2.50, and want it quick, this is where you go. No indoor seating, but their no frills, do one thing and do it right approach is what makes Famous Doughnuts the Buffalo staple it is.

Ridiculously overrated. I went searching online for "the best donuts in Buffalo" and that led me here. They were decidedly mediocre. Certainly no better than any chain donut shop. They were... fine.

NEVER open when it's supposed to be. 630am-630pm is NOT the correct time. I've been here 3 times and only received donuts once due to them not posting correct hours. Not to mention the donut I received was old and "gummy". Never again

Famous Doughnuts definitely qualifies as a doughnut institution; they've been around for ages and this is usually a good sign. Nevertheless, this is an old-school doughnut shop; stepping inside, doughnuts are served behind a small counter on plastic trays.
