delicious!! finally gave this place a try and it did not disappoint. Half a dozen for $10, great price for the quality. (we only tried the donuts so i can?t speak for the other food)

They have some of the best donuts. Their fruit smoothies are very good, too. They don't cook food anymore, they use to make good steak subs, wish they would start back cookin again.buy a dozen donuts get 3 extra free.

The smoothies and donuts are where it's at!! I literally hit this place like 4 times a week, helps that they're open 24 hours. Most people who order hot foods get the steak philly. They also have a large selection of ice cream and customer service is well done.

Elias Donuts are delicious! A classic Detroit spot. Get there early! Bring cash! [Parking] They have a good parking lot that is easy to get in and out of. [Accessibility] The door isn't automatic, but there are few barriers. [Service] Very helpful staff that are very patient. [Atmosphere] There's no place to sit inside, so you'll have to take them to go.

The building is dated, but the ice cream and donuts are DELICIOUS!!! I went to get the blueberry cheesecake and the strawberry cheesecake. When I got there, I tried the banana pudding ice cream and got that, too. All 3 in one container! Yes, so stop by to get a scoop or two, maybe 3 and donut.

I?m not a huge donut fan, but Elias donuts has changed that for me. As soon as my husband and I walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff and offered a hot, fresh donut. It was so warm, fluffy and creamy. That one free sample converted me, and we ended up buying way more than we intended to. We left with huge order of staff recommended donuts and nothing disappointed. I can?t wait for my next visit!

What a little gem! You can tell they are a staple of the community. Not rushed, respectful and busy. Donuts and coffee were delightful and fresh which is understandable given the line that backed up out the door. We are recent transplants and will be adding this stop to our weekend routine.

Great experience getting Hershey?s ice cream after a long time. Very nice staff, and even offered me a free donut since it was my first visit. Portion sizes are huge for the price point. Highly recommend!

Don't get to come here often but it's always good when I do. Only ever come for the cookies really, but last time the red velvet ones weren't ready yet (heartbroken) so I opted for the red velvet donut and a couple other baked goods. So delicious!

What a great place. The donuts are so tasty and fresh ? you don?t get a weird queasy feeling after eating them as often happens with other donuts. The prices are very reasonable, the staff is charming, and the storefront has tons of character. This is a place that I like to bring international guests to have a taste of American donuts (it?s that good.)

I love this place. Sadly, hadn?t been in a while, so I was excited to find myself on this side of town and had to stop in. They were the first place I ever saw Fruity Pebble?s donuts, Samoa Girl Scout donuts, I think they had a butter pecan donut. They have the best donuts. When u order a dozen u always get three extra for free. They are always fresh and delicious. They have a variety of other delicious foods and drinks there as well. Cute lil establishment. The kids and I go here all of the the time. We love it here.

It was my first time here and the customer service is TERRIBLE!!! 2 ladies were behind the counter eating chips, were rude when I specifically stated it was my first time give me a second. Best fresh delicious donuts in town!!!! Everything is made to order and the customer service is five star quality!!!! I love their chicken and fries combo! With Superman ice cream to go!!! Delicious donuts and sandwiches, and the owner's daughter is extremely friendly and gives the best recommendations! However the early morning employees aren't always the best, most efficient workers. There have been a couple of times I've walked in to get breakfast, and left after waiting in line 5-10 minutes, behind just one person! It's a donut shop - people should be in and out in no time! But aside from a couple of staff issues, I love this place.

Service is a bit slow, (just the wait on food) But the staff is very friendly and professional. The food is delicious and the pricing is exceptional. This was my first visit. It will Not be my last. This will probably become a regular stop for me. Great smoothies, fresh food and excellent service, makes this a place to remember.

I?m extremely picky about the donuts I like. As far as I?m concerned these are the only actual good donuts in the Detroit area. I only wish they were open at 6 so I could get there before work a little easier.

The wait time can be a bit ridiculous & certain staff personal can be a little unprofessional & have an bad attitude & have used inappropriate language in front of customers in my past visits. Good Donut's and the fruit drinks

I have been eating donuts from Elias since I was a kid. Still maintains great consistency with all products while continuously adding new selections. I love the grill. Im in love with the Philly cheese steak. So good and flavorful. Btw you can have it with chicken or steak.

This is the ultimate neighborhood donut shop. The donuts are hearty and flavorful. They also carry hand-dipped Hershey's Ice Cream, and have a grill for hot sandwiches, including grilled veggie subs and pita wraps. Really good Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches. Everything is grilled fresh to your order.

The worse donuts I ever had in my life!! I thought it would be cool to taste a banana donut but all I tasted was oil??and every one I tried tasted the same so I threw them away. You're better off opening a bottle of vegetable oil and drinking straight from it. I will never go there again and if your smart you wouldn't either.

I was so terribly disappointed with the quality and price. If the quality was good I would not have minded the price so much ($1.50 - $2.50 per doughnut, .50 per donut hole, ridiculously high). The sour cream doughnut tasted as if fried in old kitchen grease, I bought 4 types and not pleased. I spit up in their parking lot before leaving. I'm going to be well I'm going to be honest here the donuts were fairly good and they did give you choices of the same variety with less the cost but I must say I did not care too much for the cookies they tasted like lard and not the good one either it was sweet but that was it there was no buttery flavor I would think they would even had decided use Crisco butter flavor at least that would have gave it some richness of a butter flavor but no they just used lard not to me the most healthiest tasting cookie

This is the spot for smiles. My granddaughter received a (surprise) free Christmas cookie, as we selected our donut yummies. Good Ol' simplicity still bringing joy to the neighborhood. Thanks for the memories. I used to bring my kids here every Sunday after church, for small treats like a ice cream cone (in the summer) or cookies, or more sometimes.

Great donuts! Open 24 hours a day, this is a classic old donut shop with a great selection of donuts, ice cream, and pastries. They have a great assortment of donuts, paczki, and some hot food too. Last time I went I bought 2 dozen to bring to work, and I got a free half dozen to bring home and share. Love this place!

Son stops there every morning for coffee. He won't make his own. Lol! Hot chocolate good. 9-6-20 Had to write another review, no longer a 5* for me. When I come in from Arizona we would always buy the donuts. The recipe has changed or old grease. I won't buy the donuts again. Yuk!

I love their smoothies, and who doesn't love doughnuts. They have even more fun, with plenty options of hand packed ice cream as well! If you are in the mood for something sweet, they should be able to help you out.

EXCELLENT Philly Cheesesteak subs. Got 2 for $8.99. Good smoothies too. Those girls worked non stop. It took over 30 minutes but was worth the wait! Hot n fresh! :) I'll be back!!!

First time here and I was irritated immediately. Rude workers. Its seems like no matter how polite you are people just want to be negative. If you dont like your job dont go to work. The smoothie and ice cream I ordered did taste good though but those are hard to mess up. I'll give it one more try with a different shift. This was at 8pm

As always fresh looking donuts. One minor issue when asking for brownie being placed in vanilla ice cream, customer willing to pay for both separate. Some staff will mix it while others will not. Either can't or you can. Management please educate your staff to be consistent. Thx, a loyal customer.

A nice local spot with great food however, the wait time when you call in if they answer or get back to you on hold is consistently too long (over 20 mins on 2 different occasions), when you walk in to order with just two people in front of you, it?s 20 plus mins until you place your order then over 30 mins to wait on your order. I was able to have a great food experience that drew me back despite the prolonged wait time, however, 6 tries later and it?s a dismal experience just to place and order. I?ve wait

Came here to try their Philly cheese steak. But the grill wasn't running. I got a smoothie and donuts they where ok not really what I wanted. Says it's 24 hours but they Should put online grill time hours so people don't waste their time since you CAN'T get app their menu items 24 hours .

Excellent place to enjoy a simple treat and a bite to eat...very kid/family friendly,complete with perfect customer service. It has been an anchor business in the community for many decades and I hope it will be for many more! I always get at least two GIANT glazed donuts.

Simple donut with chocolate frosting... It's definitely not home made like Dutch Girls... I have no idea why they have such great reviews. Donut itself was on the hard side and just tasted like dough and packaged frosting. No real flavor.

I've been going to this place since I was (maybe) 5 yrs old. Remember riding my bike with my older siblings and we would stop by. The owner would give us a free donut and some water. Here we are, decades later, and it still stands. I still get my donuts from here.

The exterior is appealing, enter the lobby, disorganized, not enough employees working their for the traffic, feels like you are entering a jail. I left before placing my order. I was told that their food would taste good, not worth waiting that long for regular food.

I love this place. I go here for the delicious smoothies and donuts. One thing that bothers me is the window that got broke by a guy who got into it with an employee. That was last summer and it still not fixed. It made5me feel unsafe because it's such a small place.

Customer service is everything!! The young girl that had a pink scarf on today, had the worst attitude ever. First with a Prego lady in front, myself, then the gentleman beyond. She wanted smoke with everyone. You will be doing your business great service by firing her.

There is usually one clerk operating the grill, the coffee the donuts as well as the ice cream. The coffee is always warm as well as tasting watered down. The only thing that I would recommend are the donuts which are really good. They are $1.15 each, but they are bigger than Dunkin and Dutch Girl. The wait time is usually long especially if that one clerk has hot food orders up. I feel that the customer service is extremely crummy. At least act like you are happy to see me.

Service was horrible. I stood there for 15 minutes without my order ever being taken. Others walked in and their orders were taken before mine. The short brown skin girl was on the phone the whole time she was making someone else's order. The tall skinny girl had long bushy hair and was constantly gossiping about who she hate. The short light skin girl didn't have on gloves. To top it off nobody had on a hairnet. That was the worse experience ever. I will never return. July 9, 2016

This place is not what it used to be 5 years ago. Maybe the ownership has changed idk. The donuts tasted like straight up cheap old oil. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and the bread was stale and kinda hard. Furthermore, he didn?t put enough meat and veggies to fill the sandwich! Bye!

This place use to be the best donut shop around a few years ago. Now they are extremely over priced and run down. The shakes went from $3-$5 to $6-$8 bucks with the same size cups!! What a rip off. And the Ice cream, food and donuts are not worth the amount they charge. I understand they have to make money but it's not worth all that. Your better off goin to Dunkin Donuts. Atleast u get a decent amount of product for what u pay

Good donuts. But I took my family to get ice cream the other day. I ordered a few scoops of ice cream and a cookies and cream milkshake. The milk shake was VERY runny. The women had here friend at the job buzzing them in to use the bathroom. It was just too much going on.

I write this review because at the time, my best friend was in dire need of a milkshake and the only place I could think that could deliver on the goods was Elias, fable doughnut ship of my youth. I was surprised to see them still open as late as it was, with the wonderful smell of doughnuts hitting right when you walk in. My friend acquired her chocolate shake and I got one of their buttermilk doughnuts. They both hit the spot!

BEST DONUTS IN THE D! My parents had my family and I on these donuts since my siblings and I were kids and I STILL enjoy them and I'm in my thirties! I've had Dutch Girl and of course the chain Duncan,and they're ok. But at Elias you get an awesome fresh tasting donut, AND awesome customer service,and to me customer service is EVERYTHING!

Owner is so friendly n treated is so well on our 1st visit.. left with so many delicious donuts and cookies.. next time it's food and ice cream .. also they have the biggest glazed donut I've ever seen.

Food is good, location is great but the customer service is horrible for call in orders! They hang up on you before you can ask for the total. Management needs to train employees for proper customer skill set and etiquette!
