Stopped here to grab some donuts for breakfast and they were nice. The vegan ones are a bit more dense that the standard fried donuts but they're all tasty and not overly sweet. The passion fruit donut was a particular favourite.
I'm usually not a donut person, but this place has me smitten. The prices are about what you would expect for a nicer, craft donut place, and imo it's worth it for the creative flavors and overall quality. I love the texture of the donuts--they're very moist and soft and cakey. I also love that despite some of the more adventurous sounding flavors, none of the donuts I tried are overly sweet. I usually feel disgusting after a bite or two of a donut, but I ate two whole donuts this morning and didn't feel s
We love Dynamo Donuts!! No visit to San Francisco would be complete without stopping at Dynamo Donuts! We?ve been coming almost since they opened 16 years ago. Lots of classic and creative flavors and always something new. Really friendly - great service! You can tell a lot of locals come by and are here often by the friendly banter - always a good sign! One of our favorites is the maple bacon. You?ll find yourself craving it! Everything is freshly made and the owner of Dynamo even makes her own jam (jelly?
Love all the different flavors of donuts available and their donuts are veyy light and fluffy. The coffee goes great with their donuts.
This is my favorite coffee shop in San Francisco! Without a doubt the most creative latte art I?ve received on the lavender latte (delish by the way! Easily my favorite coffee) and other drinks. Their vegan donuts and gluten free options are pretty darn tasty, if I might add. Service is usually friendly and quick to medium (I prefer they take their time with my bev), music is a variety, and the donuts? Killer! I love the passionfruit flavor they have here. I highly recommend the spot on 24th st. The one in
Ordered - Have tried most chocolate flavors. Love passion fruit as well. (note: I like bringing my own container since it?s hard securing a regular donut box in the back seat. Tub-ware for the win. Also they run out of a lot of their flavors after 2pm.) Texture - Perfect cake donut. Not cry nor super dense. Nice and filling. The yeast kind are nice and fluffy, have a good chew as well which I think is stand out. Flavor - Always a nice punch of flavor. Never shy. Most aren?t super sweet like a regular donut
The SF. Mission District & 24th Street has many great food specialty cafes, diners, and taquerias. Dynamo donuts is one of my favorite morning stops.
From the moment I entered, the friendly service made me feel like a VIP. The donuts were out of this world?perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness and texture. I tried the salted caramel and a classic glazed donut, and both exceeded expectations. The shop?s ambiance was modern with a bit of vintage flair. It had a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, making it a perfect place to enjoy a snack and take a break from the day.
Simply delicious way to start the day! We came here in the morning for coffee and donuts and both were delicious. All the flavors are so creative and out of this world! They have only vegan options. They make it fresh here and you can see them making it right behind the store. Great indoor seating and outdoor area as well. What a nice gem in the neighborhood
A solid dounough all around for a reasonable price. The dounout itself was soft with no taste of oil. The glaze was a orange and ginger which sounds like it could be a lot but it was saddle and delicious. While nothing blew me away about it, it is a solid choice on your way to work. It's all walkup so not much for atmosphere but you probably aren't looking for that if your just on the go anyway. The staff is really friendly and the dounoughts are pre-made so everything is super fast. Even though they
Nice place to get a fresh donut and a coffee drink. I had the strong prepared macchiato with regular milk. I will definitely try the donuts the next time around.
Far and away the best donuts in the city. This is what Voodoo donuts wishes it was. The dough/bread is perfectly soft, smooth, fluffy on the inside and just the right amount of crisp on the outside. The flavors are very creative and change month to month. Every single flavor has been delicious.
Came to the store this morning. Was the only person in line to buy my dog a donut. Another customer stepped in front of me. I asked to please order as I was in line already. The Barista told me they didn?t see me and were not going to help me until they took care of the other customer first. My dog enjoyed the donut. I felt a bit annoyed that they ignored me. Don?t feel like coming back. Edit: Went to another donut shop down the street. It was crowded and someone accidentally tried to go before me, I let t
Their donuts are not your typical donut. These seem to be moist like not dry at all. And I loved that. They are less fluffier than the usual donut, but its density is needed for the flavors. We got maple bacon, toffee coffee and wanted to try something outside the typical donut and it was a corn fritter. The fritter had corn, Taj?n and a lime taste to it, don?t think it?s corn bread. It works! But not sure it?s my thing. Their flavors are unique and definitely coming back. The pictures I took them at home
I tried several items recently. Here?s how they stacked up: Caffeinated Crunch: More like a coffee cake and didn?t quite match the description on their online menu?decent, but not exactly what I expected. Carrot Cake: Soft, fresh, and enjoyable. Caramel de Sel: Tasted like regular caramel?nothing particularly special. Chocolate Rose: The flavors were very mild and didn?t stand out. Butter Pecan: My favorite! The filling was delicious and well-balanced. Ginger Orange: A bit overpowering on the ginger f
IMHO the best Bay Area Donut is a close competition between Dynamo Donut and Johnnys Doughnuts. I love the flavor variety and the seasonal changes at Dynamo. Perhaps so far my favorite is the spiced chocolate. Simple but delicious. I recommend picking up a box (reasonably priced!) for your next get together :)
Very excellent vegan donuts :)
I clicked my heels three times and ended up at my own personal slice of heaven in San Francisco - Dynamo Donut! From the moment that you step in, you are embraced by the aromas of freshly fried donuts and delicious craft coffee. The options in terms of donuts are extensive and each unique in their own way. Highly recommend the maple bacon donut - it literally melts in your mouth and the crunch and saltiness of the bacon makes it truly dynamic. If you're looking to get a bit of fresh air, their garden in the
Coffee was solid, and I didn't even realize the carrot cake donut I had was gluten free until I looked it up after, pretty good! Could've used some cream cheese frosting. Staff was friendly, music was good, and the space is nice.
Their donuts are out of this world. I wish I lived closer so I could get their donuts and coffee every day. I love their lavender latte, but all other espresso drinks and tea were great, too. The staff are friendly, especially Karen, and they are dog friendly as well.
Freshly baked donuts with a variety of unique flavor options. They serve coffee with beans sourced from Four Barrel Coffee. There is nice indoor seating and a back patio when the weather is good. Dog friendly. Great original local spot!
I was in SF for a trip with my wife and ever since I tried their coffee on the first day, this was THE coffee place of our choice. Nice and friendly barista/cashier and a perfect cup of latte. Sadly I didn't trip their donuts but they all looked delicious. Will definitely recommend this little join for their coffee and hopefully get to try their donuts one day.
Yummy donuts. The texture of their dough is light and cakey - my kind of donuts! They have monthly special flavors as well. The lemon and pistachio one from May is so good. My personal favorite is the passion fruit one. They also make granola, and doggy donuts for your furiends!
I recommend the garden patio in back for a quiet, nicely landscaped area in which to enjoy your delicious donuts and coffee ?? And, of course, like everyone else says the donuts are tasty, the flavors are creative, the espresso is quite good (nice and flavorful and not sour) and the staff is friendly and chill.
Great little spot with a handful of flavorful vegan donuts. Every time I?m in town I stop by to snag a couple. They never disappoint!
Be sure to get there early if you want any choice and be aware that not every single choice will be like a Bob?s or Krispy Kreme. You will be waiting on 24th Street, which can be unpredictable but interesting. Dynamo donuts are not meant to be overly sweet but more... artsy? This is not to say Bob?s or Krispy Kreme are not works of art ? they are, but Dynamo is a place where the donuts are more subtle (think rose water, earl grey, orange blossom, or lavender...dry glazing/frosting that would give a ?plain?
I ordered a cappuccino and a milk chocolate donut. Cappuccino was good but the donut was not fresh. I didn?t like how clumpy and dry it was. The taste was not good and if I visited I would definitely get something else. The lady that works at the front didn?t really care about me as a costumer because she was busy chatting it up with another customer
Delicious vegan donut and great coffee! Tried the lemon raspberry and honestly I think you can?t even tell it?s vegan. The dough was soft and fresh and the icing was just right! Excited to try other flavors
These donuts were probably made in heaven.???? I bought these donuts at around noon time the day before and had them for breakfast with my girlfriend the next morning. So delicious! I really liked the spiced chocolate and the berry pride. Staff here is super helpful and friendly. It feels like they are people from the neighborhood and are really happy. These donuts are pricey (I paid almost $24 for 6 donuts), but it was worth the splurge. Try the coffee as well! It smells so great!?
Dynamo creates ?craft? donuts so once you?ve realized you?re not a at cheap, chain donut shop, you?ll enjoy the creations here even more. Popular flavors tend to run out by noon so come early and get a dozen of one of the best SF has to offer. They make dog versions as well!
You got to come and try their crafty made doughnuts! Friendly staff and excellent service. I will be back. So happy I ran into this place for breakfast before leaving San Fransisco. I went with the Maple Glazed Bacon Apple.
Great donuts in the cut?? We bought four different types and all were really good! The chocolate passion fruit was my favorite ??
Our company Photo-matica worked with Dynamo Donuts for their 10 year anniversary party and had an amazing time. Their team is so friendly and professional. Oh and their donuts are outstanding. Try the maple bacon. You'll thank me later. Thanks AM and team! Keep up the good work.
Yup. This is the spot. Come here if you want a killer donut with unique flavor profiles. The only negative I experienced is the fact that the donuts were cold. I understand the open dining environment and seasonal temperature affects these, but in 2019, there must be a way to provide a donut which isn?t cold.
Great doughnuts, they have a broad selection & multiple gluten free // vegan ones as well
This donut shop reminds me of Blue Star in Portland, slightly less exotic flavors but the donuts here hit the mark so much more. The donut base is fluffy and delicious and each of the different icings were mild in flavor but worked really well to allow the donut base to shine.
I'm really happy they had a vegan donut and it was an excellent apricot one, though it would have been better with less sugar on it. I also got a hot chocolate with soy milk (they have three "alternative milks" which they unfortunately have a 50-cent surcharge for: soy, oat, and almond). It was good, but thinner and less chocolatey than I prefer.
Truly unique flavors, rich in depth, and light on the glazes! The chai donut could do with a little more spice but overall a very good experience! The Coffee was very comforting!
Donuts are super delicious, I love it. but don?t recommend you order online afternoon. They replace your ordered items to totally different items without any notification (I know there is one employee who always give me notification when it?s sold out) This is huge minus and disappointing especially if you have kids who wanted chocolate donuts but you got apricot donuts...
Love this place! - Friendly and helpful staff. - The lattes are consistent. - They have a great donut menu along with seasonal selections. The back patio is beautiful on a warm sunny day.
I called ahead for my order of Carmel de sel, seasonal raspberry pepper, and seasonal chai donuts. Also ordered a coffee that they added the perfect amount of cream and sugar to! The donuts and coffee were all absolutely delicious. The carmel de sel drizzle melted in my mouth -- you have to try it! Not to mention the staff were extremely friendly and provided a seamless contactless pick up for me.
There's only 6 donut options, which was disappointing. The vanilla bean was good, but the spiced chocolate wasn't my favorite. It had a dense texture with a smoky spice to it. Unless you're in the area, I wouldn't recommend going out of the way to come here.
Very very cute place. The coffee is good and not too pricey. The backyard is definitely a place tu go if you want some peace and quiet. I?m sure the pastries are good but I didn?t try them. This place feels far from the city and is lovely.
I love the donut flavors and back patio. Great local spot
Second stop on our Saturday afternoon donut crawl: -Pink Lemonade: very artistic with a slice of candied lemon, just the right amount of sour tang, very balanced, doughy goodness, fluffy perfection. -Mango Tangerine: A lot going on here! Good balance. One side for each flavor, with delightful hunks of candied mango baked into the donut. Mango flavor comes through stronger than the tangerine, but you can totally tell both are there. It comes up as mango tango on the register which is just adorable. ;) -Orang
Awesome coffee shop in Mission District with equally awesome gluten free donuts. The flavors are really unique and super delicious. There's an outdoor eating area as well as space inside. Highly recommend!
Dynamo Donuts, considered the best donuts in San Francisco, lived up to the hype. While they?re delicious, they are on the smaller side, so be prepared to indulge in a few. The maple bacon flavor comes highly recommended, and despite any initial doubts about the combination, it?s surprisingly tasty! Located in the Mission district, their coffee is also worth a try.
I?m not big donut fan, sorry. But, their apricot filled one was amazing. And coffee is really really good!
Love this place. Been coming here for 5 years now. Really good coffee, focaccia bread (not made every day though). The people who work here are really cool. A bright light in the Mission.
Passion fruit chocolate donuts are ??! My go to flavor whenever I have trouble deciding which of their yummy donuts I want.
Possibly the best vegan donuts I?ve had! Favorite was the lemon hibiscus, then apple, then chocolate then chocolate spice.
The flavor of the donuts was really neat. I arrived around 2:45 and the staff was super friendly. I wish the donuts were warmer though. The texture and the flavor would have been enhanced if the donuts were either heated up or just kept warm. The texture and flavor of the coffee donut was awesome and the chocolate anise donut was super interesting and tasty. Coffee was a bit lighter my taste but still good.
Maple glazed bacon apple donut.... it was the donut I dreamed of as a kid. One of the best donuts I?ve had in a long time. Staff was friendly and you are able to sit and eat your donut while you watch them make the donuts, it?s a cool experience. They also had a cool little kids reading book in the corner and outdoor seating as well. Fun fact.. they just celebrated their 10th year today... woot woot!
Coffee was great; donuts are delicious ?? The backyard is beautiful. Would love to come again.
Not my type of donuts, their are moist. Nice coffee and they have 2 gluten free donuts.
I had the pleasure of working with Ann from Dynamo's catering team to plan three weeks of donut breakfasts for groups of over 200 people.. The experience was absolutely wonderful. Ann crafted a menu that included allergen-friendly options, personally delivered the donuts, assisted in setting up our display, and provided impeccable service throughout. The donuts were such a hit! It was such a treat to share this San Francisco staple with our guests flying in from across the country. I can't thank Ann and the
Although it is a tad bit pricey, I do believe the cost of the donut and coffee is justified. It?s a great place to stop and relax. I can see it being a great way to meet up with friends and catch up, or even take someone on a date to.
Am obsessed with the vegan maple banana donut - such a good texture!! And the photo is the lemon pistachio donut, that one is super tasty as well!! +great coffee
I have changed their locks and kept hearing about their quiche again and again by all of their clients while I was working on the door Oh my God it is literally the best quiche I had in my life Sorry grandma and my grandma was one of the best quiche makers I have known Great coffee as well They absolutely take food one level Beyond
The donuts and the coffees are so delightful the delicious flavors of the different donuts. It's to be admired and adored because not many places give you the variety that you have here. Servers were wonderful atmosphere was fantastic. What's not to love? Please check out diamond donuts if you're in San Francisco.
Quick grab and go. Friendly staff. Delicious coffee. I really like their lavender latte, nice fragrance, not too strong or overwhelm the coffee.
Well made artisanal doughnuts. The biggest downside is the price for what you get. Most of the doughnuts are also not very different from each other. We got the sticky bun, the chocolate star anise, the vanilla bean, banana maple, the spiced chocolate and cinnamon apple. Besides telling that some where chocolate and others were not we really couldn't tell them apart.
Nice quiet space to eat a donut, drink coffee or tea, and do your own work. There's also a nice patio in the back. Photo of Santa's cookie donut- it was quite good! Not too sweet for my sweet tooth.
A little hole in the wall staffed with friendly folk serving some fantastic donuts. Airy cake donuts with creative and yummy flavors.
My boyfriend and I very like this place. We always buy donuts from here everytimes we meet. Their donuts are solid and unique. The best part is they have vegan and gluten-free donuts which is hard to find. My favorite are chocolate strawberry, carrot cake, passion fruit, ginger pineapple
Best donuts in the city in my opinion! The maple apple bacon is my absolute favorite and the seasonal flavors are so good too! I always feel like a good friend when I bring dynamo donuts to a gathering or when I?m visiting someone. It?s always a hit!
Very nice donut place with a very unique and special choice of donuts. Loved the strange but delicious "maple glazed bacon Apple" donut
I Always get an oatmilk latte to try a place out. There's is pretty good. From what I hear though their sweets are what you really want here. I'm trying to be careful about sweets so not this time but if I do I'll let you all know lol.
Very simple but delicious formula of a no-frills (but delicious, and near perfect in taste and texture) donut base, with amazingly delicious and inventive glazes and toppings (passion fruit and milk chocolate being my personal face), along with I think very good coffee.
I?ve been here 5-6 times. I kept hoping it would be good since I literally live next door, but sadly, I now walk 5-10 min to other coffee shops. Coffee is hastily prepared, yet still takes forever to make. Plastic caps don?t fit properly. Asked for extra hot on a cold, windy day and it was barely warm lol. Their menu for donuts is never accurate and they run out by like 10 AM. However their flavors are unique and tasty. Also weird vibes from the employees. Almost like there?s an air of superiority. Everyo
Hands down the best donuts in the Bay, fantastic ever-changing flavors. The creativity is awesome, and the texture is fantastic. And a beautiful backyard when the sun is shining.
So delicious and the staff was super friendly and awesome!
One of my favorite donuts in the City! And a nice place to just hang out. Vintage touches make it seem like it's been there forever. And my dog loves the doggie donuts!
Surprisingly good coffee, with good art. No vanilla flavor but they had mocha!
Really cute selection of donuts! My daughter tried a few and liked them all. I liked my iced latte and my daughter had water- not many kid friendly beverages or tea options. I will say that I knocked off points because of the vibe. Employees were not very friendly when I asked him questions, there is a nice area to sit though. The smell midday here was pretty musty. Daughter and I left after about half an hour and took the donuts to go because of it. I think it smelled like a barn but daughter said toilet l
They offer a unique selection of drinks (mint lavender latte - from their garden!) alongside handcrafted doughnuts. A cozy quiet cafe out of the way, if you're looking for a space to relax and unwind. No wifi.
good atmosphere, good service and really good coffee. Getting coffee here every day before my job
Really wanted to like this place, came here with my toddler today waited in line behind another person. Another customer came up a couple minutes later and stood to my right for service as well. When the guy in front of me wrapped up his order, the lady to my right made her way right to the counter as if i was invisible. The lady working there said absolutely nothing and even asked the lady who cut me how she could ?help her?. I was really appalled and couldn?t believe the level of disregard, i felt complet
Some of the best donuts I've had. The passion fruit one was amazing!
The food is delicious. It's great that they captured this flavor.
Great place for a morning stop. Nice back yard, friendly service and a great collection of donuts.
Tasty donuts! Coffee was also great, I ordered the rosemary latte and loved it. Good balance of flavor. The patio was lovely to get some sun in. Fair amount of seating given it?s a little small. Variety of chairs, some lounge and some little chairs with a small patio table. No wifi, so plan on other activities such as reading or just chatting with friends. Will return to make my way through the donuts and coffee/lattes.
This shop has a delish unique assortment of tasty doughnuts. Tried the glazed pineapple basil & it rocked. Need to try apple maple bacon next time.
Horrible coffee. I ordered a mocha and it tasted like coffee with no creamer and some white foam. It definitely was not a mocha. No line and took them three minutes to greet me. Try another option down the street is my recommendation
Excellent morning coffee, stickybuns and some coffee donut for breakfast! Super freshly baked , cant get any better than this!
Good coffee, delicious doughnuts. Cute little back area. Kids table with children's books.
Still a great place to come and grab a coffee and donut. They have a nice back patio. It?s also a great place to pick up donuts as a gift since they always have pretty and tasty options. They also host pop ups from time to time to support local artists which is great.
