Dutch Monkey Doughnuts

Dutch Monkey Doughnuts

Reviews Summary

Dutch Monkey Donuts receives overwhelmingly positive reviews for its high-quality, fresh, and artisanal donuts, with many praising unique flavors like Nutella Twist, Lemon Meringue, and Boston Cream. The gluten-free options are appreciated, though some note inconsistencies in texture. Service is consistently friendly, but a few criticize high prices, limited seating, and occasional undercooked or bland donuts. The shop’s popularity leads to long lines and early sell-outs, so arriving early is recommended. While most consider the donuts worth the splurge, a small minority find them overpriced or overhyped. Overall, it’s a beloved local gem with minor operational quirks.

Omg. Today I finally stopped into this donut haven (admittedly, on my way home from the gym). It?s off Ronald Regan Blvd /exit 13. The donuts are perfection: light, fluffy, fresh, flavorful. I will not be getting a donut anywhere else again. GO HERE if you want donuts that are actually worth the calories!

Top notch customer service, beautiful and clean atmosphere. However the donuts were not as tasty. The texture was not as light as I'm used to. They were not bad, just not to my liking. Also slightly more pricey. The caramel lat? was delicious. I would definitely visit again. However I would not get donuts.

Very friendly service and my coffee was perfection! I got it decaf and it was 10/10. The donuts were okay, they weren't all that light. The chocolate glazed was dry, but the lemon meringue was better since it had the filling. I expected them to taste more fresh.

Quite possibly the best donuts I've ever had! They're simply amazing! Very fresh with top-notch presentation...and they're gluten free! Customer service is always great, they've got that down. Seating is available but limited including three outdoor picnic tables with one little one for kids. I like to support local business anyway but it's always a big plus when a product is over the top!

Delicious donuts!! All the donuts were amazing. My favorites were the glazed, lemon meringue, Boston cream and peach filled. So fresh with a great variety. One of the best donuts we've had in Georgia. Perfect place to grab a coffee and some donuts.

So glad to have a fresh option for gluten friendly donuts. We?ve visited twice in the last couple weeks and our gf donuts have had raw dough centers. That?s kind of a bummer. The cooked parts were fluffy and yummy. All the gluten full donuts were delicious. The restaurant was very clean and the man who served us was very friendly and kind.

Great small business with friendly knowledgeable employees. Get there early for the good stuff. They also have GF Donuts! This separates them from others it is a considerate and calculated effort to satisfy ALL of their customers. Can?t say how important that is when you have family members who don?t get to enjoy the sweets that most of us can. Thank you d monkey!

We love our local doughnut shop! They have delicious coffee and AMAZING doughnuts. They support our schools and hold a fundraiser every year for The Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research. ??

So good! Great selection with some very interesting combinations, but the classic ones are also excellent. Some of my favorite doughnuts around. The lemon meringue might be my current winner. There is also a gluten-free selection. I think you can also get them at the Dutch, which has some of the best fries around.

Picked up 4 individually packed doughnuts here for co-workers. Everything seemed fresh. Service was friendly. Just a regular coffee shop atmosphere inside. It's been many years since I visited this place (was a frequent visitor with my kids when they newly opened many years ago), but I noticed the price has risen steeply in the interim and the donuts seem smaller too.

Where do I even begin with Dutch Monkey Doughnuts? If you're looking for the best doughnuts around, look no further. This place is a doughnut lover's paradise! First off, the selection is out of this world. From classic favorites to unique, creative flavors, there's truly something for everyone. And let's not forget the quality?each doughnut is made to perfection, a delightful blend of fluffy, moist, and utterly delicious. The owners and staff are the icing on the doughnut?always welcoming, friendly, and

This place is THE BEST !! It's quite possible I had an addiction to Dutch Monkey Donuts when they originally opened. The Lemon Meringue and Apple Fritter were definitely my go to. It was also fun trying new flavors. They have windows into the kitchen and it was always fun watching them work. I've moved and it's been a while since I've been in but ... What I always appreciated was the owners would always come out of the kitchen to speak to me and thank me for coming in. Martin and Arpana are just fa

Totally over rated place for just some average donuts. Paid $20 for 5 donuts and they taste the same as Dunkin?s. Kids weren?t thrilled either. Are they worth $10 for 5, sure but not 20 bucks. DaVinci donuts or Dunkin?s would be better options .

There is nothing better than a bakery that appreciates handcrafted detail with a passion for quality! This is our favorite place in all of Georgia! They have such a fun atmosphere normally, and have adapted to make their food and service convenient during covid. Anything that has fruit it is amazingly fresh! It's almost like they have a hidden greenhouse somewhere! The Cinnamon Roll is my favorite!!

BEST DOUGHNUTS in Forsyth County! Made every morning from 100% homemade scratch! Get there early or your out of luck! Sorry about the second picture, I had two boxes and sat one on top of the other and the lid stuck to one of the doughnuts. It was soooooo pretty!

Such a great little place. Doughnuts are amazing but the frittatas are the best thing I have ever eaten for breakfast in my life. The one I had was so flavorful and absolutely perfect! I'm a chef as well and so I'm unfortunately very critical but I have nothing but great things to say. Also by the way wasn't going here for a beverage but it was a rainy, yucky Sunday morning so I said what the heck and I tried the hot chocolate. THIS IS LITERALLY THE BEST HOT CHOCOLATE I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!! The homem

Not only are the gluten free donuts like crazy delicious, but the staff was just as sweet. I'm pretty picky when it comes to GF baked goods, but these are the stuff! I ordered each GF flavor, cinnamon, chocolate iced, and the raspberry shortcake. I usually don't go for fruit on any dessert, but this....OMG, this is how raspberries were meant to be eaten!!

This place is amazing! Follow them on IG for daily menu and always enjoy a fresh made donut.

Love Dutch Monkey. With all the trans fat filled gas station and quick serve donut shops in the northern suburbs, we are so blessed to have a local sporting like Dutch Monkey. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and the donuts are true works of art!

Local doughnuts are the best, especially when the ingredients are fresh including the fruits like they are here. Very tight parking lot, but it's worth it for the doughnuts.

Very friendly...so glad to find a place with gluten free donuts! 3 to choose from! Cinnamon, raspberry tipped cake and chocolate iced cake...very delicious!

I found this little "gem" today, and I'm so glad I did! I met a friend here for coffee, and it was her first time too. Apparently, they have been here 15 years, and I can certainly see why! ?? The coffee and donuts are amazing, especially the peanut butter and buttercream donuts. The staff is super nice and professional, and it's such a cute, cozy place!

Been craving for donuts and my husband got some for me from Dutch Monkey. The Coffee Buttercream (left in the pic) was worth sending him out ?? However I was disappointed with the Apple fritter which barely had any apple in it. I cut it in half and see all dough ?? There were just a few tiny pieces stuck on top of the donut - that?s it! The cinnamon roll was just average but we have high hopes for the lemon meringue (that?s hubby?s choice)

Recently moved to Cumming and was looking for a good donut place. Wow! Did I find a good one! They have an awesome variety! Staff was great too! I really loved the chocolate chip twist!

Dutch Monkey is the best. Whenever I am anywhere near the area, I make a detour to stop in. It is worth the effort. Everything is consistently amazing, and everyone is so nice.

Absolutely delicious donuts. Much more reasonably priced than some other competitors.

Delicious donuts! Great people! Wonderful atmosphere!

The quality and selection were above average. However, the price was $$$$ outrageous, close to $4.00 a doughnut. I'm not sure how this place will make it at those prices.

This place has THE BEST doughnuts. Their staff is always friendly and if you get stumped because you can't decide which ones you want to try, they are always willing to make suggestions.

At 60 years old the most EXPENSIVE donut shop ever. Good donuts but not great. Should offer a credit card so average people can finance the donuts and make payments

The glazed donuts remind me of dunkin donuts. Looks like they didn't let the donuts cool and the glaze melted off. This is the case with so many donut shops and it's very frustrating. Why can't I just get a good glazed donut around here?

First visit and we were told that it was well worth the trip here to try them out. Great selection of items and a staff that were the sweetest of people. Very pleased that we stopped in and will be back for more! Thank you for creating such a wonderful place!!!

A perfect doughnut! Fresh and diverse choices with delicious, wholesome, high quality, gourmet flavors! If you're going to eat doughnuts, THESE are them.

Good customer service and tasty donuts! Pumpkin one is really good! Coffee was fresh and excellent quality and flavor as well!

They have a great selection of fresh donuts. Delicious flavors that you don't see anywhere else.

This is a nice location and the donuts are pretty, but that?s where it ends. The donuts are too dense for my liking. I wouldn?t even care about the higher than average donut price if they were good. Also, the milk is a no go. I just want regular ole milk with my donuts. Another suggestion would be using milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate icing. Just disappointed. I think if maybe they focused on donuts that tasted good instead of focusing on how pretty they look these could be great. I have tried thes

Outrageously good! I stop here every opportunity I get even though I don?t live even remotely close. You?re paying for quality so treat yourself. You won?t regret it.

Go ahead and stop for some donuts. You know you want to! You won?t find better donuts anywhere else. In fact, my out of state family asks me to bring these donuts when I visit so they can get their Dutch Monkey fix.

The cake donuts are fantastic, everything else is pretty good but some can get a little busy...not my thing but I understand people enjoy them. Pricey but good. Not my first visit and will not be my last.

Love this place! Delicious doughnuts and a great variety. Quickly becoming a tradition.

Donuts were very good. However, when ordering online, we received three filled donuts out of the dozen. Typically, you receive one maybe two of these in a store picked mixed order. Unless you like these types of donuts, I suggest going into the store. Don?t get me wrong, everything else was fantastic and the employees were very friendly and helpful. Great donut shop. Will definitely return.

Great donuts that are fresh with no preservatives. Make sure you eat within a day since they go stale because they are free of preservation chemicals

Awesome doughnuts. My fave are the nutella twist and the chocolate peanut butter doughnut.

I?ll put it out first. I am not a fan of donuts. But I love love their hot chocolate. Nothing ever came close to beating it. Try it. It?s definitely heavenly. My son loves the donuts.

Great overall experience with Dutch Monkey Donuts. Not only were the donuts out of this world but the special King Cake was on another level. My wife and I believe this King Cake is better than what you can get in New Orleans. Great customer service as well, Martin and his team really create a great customer experience.

I purchased 7 doughnuts(these were pretty basic) for 25 dollars, in my opinion thats crazy! For that price I was hoping they would be spectacular doughnuts, they were below average and underwhelming. The cake doughnuts tasted like oil, almost fishy and the cinnamon twist had almost no flavor. The best one we had was the boston cream filled.

Easily the best donuts, and possibly the best dessert food to be had in the metro Atlanta area. I live 45 mins away but still make the trip occasionally it's so good. Get there early though because they seem to run out of the things I want every time I go if I get there after 10 or 11 am. I won't make the trip again if im going to get there after 1030 am.

These doughnuts are absolutely perfect. Yes, pricey for sure so it?s not really an everyday must, but once a month or two is a nice treat. I like to bring guests from out of town to enjoy these crafted treats and real milk with cream on top. Cool experience.

We pass 5 donut shops to get here every Sunday. Best donuts ever.

The doughnuts are amazing! I love a good Boston Cream and this did not disappoint. The Chai Latte was really yummy too. I also appreciate that they take donations for Rally?s kids.

Love this place. They have a large selection of different flavors and combinations that rotates (check their FB or IG for the latest). They always have gluten free options too which is awesome. I?ve never been disappointed by any of their donuts. Pro tip: some flavors sell out quickly, so show up early if there is one you absolutely have your heart set on.

The donuts are totally okay. The price is definitely high for the value and quality of the food. The service is friendly... but... It's a shame that at the prices of selling these donuts for they don't pay their employees enough to not have to beg for tips. I'm sorry, but the 30 seconds it took you to put some donuts in the box isn't worthy of a tip. Edit: The owner's response was enough to convince me to take my business elsewhere. I've visited Dutch Monkey 7 times in the month of January but that's cle

Best donuts ever... believe me, I am a pastry snob. the Coffee is great too. If you like bacon you have to try the Maple bacon. Many copies of this donut but I have not found any that compare. The Apple fritter is exceptional too.

My husband loves these donuts. His favorite was the apple by far, but he also really likes the rest. Even better - they have GLUTEN-FREE donuts for those of us that need it. They were really good too! Great little donut shop

Wow?.$73 for two dozen donuts, is this a joke? A dozen glazed and a dozen assorted and you?re trying to charge almost $75 is an absolute rip off. Kids response at the cash register, I don?t make the prices? first and last time ever going to this place.

Unfortunately, this is not a great review. We came in sun. Aug 11, 2019. We bought 5 doughnuts for $15. They looked absolutely amazing and even though it's way more expensive than other places I was expecting the taste to equal the cost. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We got one of that was lemon filled but the cream inside tastes awful and bitter! It was like they put way too much lemon peel in the cream, ugh, I'M pretty sure no peel should have ended up in there. Bottom line, my kids ages 10, 8 &

Great coffee and donuts, even the gluten-free ones are amazing! Only reason for 4 stars is because they changed their hours and did not update the information online. Note: they are open 7am-noon on Tuesday-Friday. Pulled up at 12:03 and was locked down. Tried to submit the time change for them, so maybe it will help others out before making a long drive for them.

Fresh every day! Amazing Donuts!

Yummy donuts and fresh coffee. The best part is their effective use of technology with ordering and sales. They are paperless, so cards only. Also, they post their donuts everyday on FB, and you can see pictures of them on their page. I messaged them on FB, and by the time I got to the location they were picked and ready for pick up. The coffee was so fresh, and the donuts perfectly sweet. They are higher end prices, but the product definitely supports the price.

Absolute best donuts in North Georgia ????

We decided to stop here and grab a couple donuts. I heard some good things about this place so we thought we would give it a try! The place The place is small but very well kept. They have some nice tables if you want to hangout and socialize. The food I will say I wasn't that impressed maybe because all of the hype from people. I tried at a dozen different donuts and the only two were ones I would go back for. The Nutella Twist was had good flavor and was something that unique you couldn't get most

Their donuts are pretty good and tasty. My personal favourite is their Coffee buttercream donut. Customer service is good but the price of the items is on the higher end.

Overall this place a great! It is one of my favorite donuts shops in the area. The customer service is always awesome and the donuts are so great. The space is a little small though. I wish they would move to a bigger location. That is honestly the only downside. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes donuts!

Tasty and creative donuts! The strawberry sprinkle, Aztec, and signature dutch monkey donuts are all worth a stop. Chai tea ain't bad either! They are currently take out or drive through only (no dine in, but there's a couple of small tables outside to use).

The place is clean, cute and has an excellent selection. Presentation is very enticing. The taste is just not for me. The donuts are on the dryer side which is similar to Dunkin Donuts. I prefer a richer, softer and more yeasty flavor.

Very nice donut shop in Alpharetta. Counter Culture coffee, which is great, and a great selection of coffee drinks and others. The donuts (and related pastries) are all done that day, and they don't make more once they sell out so come early if you want a big selection of items. Everything is great tho, so they are bound to have something to enjoy at all times.

I got the cinnamon twist and it was very delicious however when I asked the employee for it she went to the back to get it a was a little concerned at first of the freshness of the doughnuts however it exceeded my expectations. An observation I made while there was a couple baker's racks blocking the path between the front and back of house which seemed like the staff wasn't prepared for guests.

Thoughtfully crafted doughnuts tasting the way I'm sure they all tasted "when I was growing up." I am excited to say the coffee was changed up a while back making this an excellent alternative to a chain store for someone who just wants coffee / a short-list classic espresso drink. The people / the team...great!

If you don't like the donuts in this place, I suggest you go elsewhere because you're not going to find anything better. Luxurious donuts; I take mine with the side of mocha coffee - terrific combination. Today's choice was Boston cream donut. OMG

Had great expectation based on reviews but sadly underwhelmed. The Lemon Bismark was stale and the lemon type custard inside was bitter. The Dutch Monkey had zero banana taste and bland peanut butter custard. The sausage fritter was extremely dry and strange spice profile. Despite our disappointment in donuts, the coffee was good.

Five Star donuts, people. The line was long but moved pretty fast if you're just picking up donuts. Definitely kid friendly, where the little ones can climb up step stools to peer through the kitchen window portholes. The nicest thing I liked was that the donuts were not overly sweet, make old school with wholesome ingredients I approve of, and you could taste the love that went into them. I will have to go back, so many flavors to try out....

Great doughnuts, wonderful staff! Nice place to people watch!! Keep up the awesome work!!

By far the best donuts anywhere near Atlanta. I highly recommend trying every doughnutt they make. Fortunately they are a 40 minute drive for me so we only visit a couple times a year instead of a weekly basis.

I was impressed that this place was given a almost 5 star review and how everyone was saying the best doughnut ever , so I decided to try them out.I stopped by 8:30am and I bought 6 doughnuts and it was around $17. A bit pricey but hey if it?s the best doughnut I do not mind paying. In my opinion I took a bite and it was ?okay?. The one I did try that I thought was a little better was the Nutella twist. I also noticed especially the fritter tasted a bit stale. I am not kidding it didn?t taste fresh and I t

Locally sourced, delicious designer doughnuts. These are the best I've ever eaten, and I LOVE donuts. My very favorites are the strawberry cream bar, the Nutella twist and the coffee cream filled doughnut. Seriously crave worthy, if I go and they are out of a favorite, my heart feels sad. Just so you know, go early. They make everything fresh daily, in small batches, so they WILL run out of the best flavors by the afternoon!

Everyone I know is always raving about this place. We have given it several chances and it never lives up to expectations. The donuts are dry and have a chewy texture, not soft and pillowy like I want a donut to be. The flavors are bland with no strong tastes. Not a fan at all.

No menu board so I didn?t have a clue what to order until I got to the window. Asked the girl for an assortment of a dozen donuts and to make sure at least two chocolate covered glazed for my kids. $32 later got a dozen of ?just OK? donuts and no chocolate covered glazed. Heard really good things about this place so im a bit disappointed. would have given 2 stars but I am a fan of small business so gave 3 instead.

Came to store today Tuesday Oct 1st 2019 with great expectations of great Tasting donuts due to the talent and skills of the renowned pastry chef owners from NYC. The Donuts "dough" seemed all the same "doughy grainy tasteless wet dough" covered in frostings or pumped with custard/ curd. The donut dough texture tasted defrosted wet not fried or baked on premises. Not tasty at all. I bought almost one of everything today to try. Even tried donut holes ; dough very dry doughy grainy tasteless. Very dissapoin

Not sure if this is the norm, but most of the donuts they had were of sour kind. Sour cream donut, or sour n xyz etc etc. Could only find one non sour donut. Was little disappointed but whatever we got was of good quality. Also, they sponsor library reading programs so kids get free stuff here. Really appreciate such gesture n encouragement for kids.

Best donuts hands down. Their coffee is also excellent. Check out their menu online and even more convenient is that they have a drive thru (not really advertised, but it's behind the building). Worth the drive from Roswell for us!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! By far my favorite doughnut place I've been to. They have the signature "Dutch Monkey" doughnut which is amazing with a caramel custard filling. They always are adding new editions or different doughnuts. Customer Service is also amazing and they did a 5k and half marathon recently. This company is by far one I support and will go to every time.

DMD has been a special treat for my family for a couple years now. The doughnuts are amazing, the only problem is that I can't possibly fit as many in my stomach as I want to try... we've often brought in 6 or so people and ordered 8-10 doughnuts and just tried a bite of everything that interested us. They are busy and expect you to be ready when you get to the counter. Just be prepared for it, take a good look at the options before you get in line if you can, and know that there are pretty much no bad c

I have been many times and the service is always excellent. The doughnut selection varies from day to day. There is always something interesting available. They do have their old standbys that they do every day so if that day is theme is not working for you, you will find something. My only real complaint is that they charge for a cup of water. If I?m spending $15 on doughnuts then charging me for water is crazy. The problem is they do not have much selection of drinks that appeal to me. I honestly do not

Great Artisan donuts worth every single carb or calorie. After all, if you are going to splurge it should be worth it. The Apple Fritter was great as will as the Cinnamon roll. The Maple bacon donut is really good if you want something savory.

I rated this a 5 6 years ago and I still stand by it. Excellent doughnuts with changing flavors made fresh daily. That's the way it is supposed to be. If you want crappy processed donuts go elsewhere. Counter culture coffee, excellent doughnuts , local owners, pleasant staff.

These are not your ordinary doughnuts! They are incredible. The Nutella twist, peanut butter cup, the traditional cake doughnut are some of my favorites. They are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for, and whoever you share them with will be impressed. Good coffee too. I have had the doughnuts at Sublime, and Dandy Doughnuts, but these are probably the best in GA.

Short version: The BAD = parking, seating, coffee, prices, no phone to reach them The GOOD = location, food quality, variety of menu options, in-person service, originality, packaging Long version: SEATING: Get it to go! Seating is so limited that I have to believe they desperately do NOT want you to actually stay and enjoy your donuts fresh off the line. And of course they do have a table that could seat 8 and it's usually blocked by two inconsiderate middle aged women with one single baby. I saw a mother

Best Donuts around. Maple bacon is top notch
