Dulce Dough Donuts & Bakery

Dulce Dough Donuts & Bakery

Reviews Summary

Dulce Dough is overwhelmingly praised for its exceptional brioche-style donuts, described as light, airy, and perfectly textured. Favorites include the Raspberry Berliner, maple bacon, and cinnamon varieties. The cream cheese cinnamon rolls and savory breakfast items like cat head biscuits also receive high marks. While most reviews highlight the friendly, efficient service and charming atmosphere, a few note minor drawbacks like occasional long lines, limited seating, or overpriced items. The coffee receives mixed feedback, but the donuts are consistently celebrated as some of the best ever tasted. A must-visit for fresh, high-quality pastries, though arriving early is recommended to avoid sell-outs.

WOW, These donuts are heavenly! The glazed donut was perfection. The cinnamon roll was exceptional. The sticky buns were out of this world. The "Cat Head" ( jalapenos, cheddar, bacon and scallions) biscuit was phenomenal. The line can get very long, so get there early. You will not be disappointed.

This was our first visit to Dolce Dough upon the recommendation from a family member. It did not disappoint!! The donuts were delicious, and the tart was such that you craved more as soon as you finished. Get there early!! Or order ahead, they will sell out??

Dulce Dough is a must-stop on the island, just make sure you get there early! It?s no surprise they sell out fast! The brioche doughnuts are next-level?light, fluffy, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. We look forward to visiting again on our next trip to the island. Highly recommend.

The donut has the air of a feather and quite literally melts in your mouth. It's delicious, but the flavor lacked but the texture was incredible. I wish the frosting had more flavor lowkey. The strawberry biscuit was delicious but a little underwhelming at times. Def warm it up and add some butter to it!

Excellent donuts/bakery! Another place on St. Simons island that slows somewhat after Labor Day. There was a modest line, but well worth the time for the tasty and fun creations! We had: - Raspberry Berliner - Bacon Maple - Pineapple White Chocolate. My favorite, not a regular menu item, but one of the ?ever changing? selections. - Chocolate Brioche - Vanilla Cream? - Pecan Sticky Bun - Buttermilk Biscuit Update - we went to Dulce Dough 4 out of five days! We wanted to get our fix before leaving.

Doughnuts are fantastic, the quiche is really, really good, and the Sausage, Egg and Cheese biscuit is quite literally the best breakfast biscuit I've ever had. My son, daughter and I go every Friday - they treat us like family, always asking how we are doing and show love to my children. There's no shortage of good restaurants on SSI, but Dulce Dough is on my short list of places I mention when visitors ask for the go to places in town. Also, they killed it for my daughter's 1st "Sweet One" birthday. The

My daughter and I dropped in for something quick and on the go. This may be our new favorite place. I don't remember the names and I should've grabbed a menu...but the savory biscuit was Incredible!! We also tried the strawberry iced donut, the maple bacon, and the raspberry filled. Oh. My. Word!! She got an iced caramel latte, she said it was very good (and she's picky about her coffees). The staff was very friendly and very helpful, considering it was our first visit. It definitely won't be our last! We l

You guys!!!! Cutest bakery I have ever been to! And don't get me started with the merch! It was out first time visiting, we were told it's a popular spot abd there is always a wait. However, I am a donut fan (real donuts, don't try me with DD or KK). The line went quickly and since it was our first visit we had a few questions. The staff was so friendly abd worked very quickly and efficiently! We ordered several donuts and breakfast sandwiches! Everything tasted amazing! Prices were a little on the high end

We absolutely love this place. If we lived nearby, I?d be a frequent shopper. The raspberry donut was the best donut I?ve ever had. The explosion of fresh raspberry atop the fluffy brioche made for an incredible experience. I didn?t realize a donut could be so good. On top of that, the cat head biscuits taste like my grandma?s kitchen, and the espresso is strong and well brewed. The atmosphere is like walking into the girliest, 1960s-esque kitchen you?ve ever seen. All of the staff are sweet and smiley. It

Yall. Being raised in the south I am always looking for a good biscuit. Dulce Dough has knocked it out of the park with their Cathead Biscuit. I got it with bacon, egg, and cheese this morning. Not only are the flavors to die for but it was a big biscuit and everything was warm, and melted..like it should be! 10/10 going back.

Delighted with these brioche dough donuts?probably the best donut I?ve ever eaten. #raspberryberliner Popular location. Line moved quickly. Parking very limited. Absolutely worth the effort.

The doughnuts are amazing, staff is friendly and the shop is so cute! We loved it so much we visited two days in a row.

TLDR; Excellent donuts & breakfast biscuits! Don't miss this place. June 2025: still literally the best ------ I didn't used to be a donut person, but Dulce Dough's brioche-style donuts has changed that. These donuts are soft, chewy, and not overly sweet. Maybe I should say I'm a Dulce Dough person. I've had donuts from Voodoo, and I like these better. The best thing to get from Dulce Dough is the frosted donuts--the Homer is my favorite. The filled bismarks are really good--I like that the chocolate creme

Not sure why everyone raves about the cinnamon rolls, the icing is heavy on the cream cheese flavour and the dough isnt anything special. The star pastry is the Homer donut. That doughnut is so airy and layered, and that strawberry glaze is perfect. Biscuits aren't up to par. Their flour is obviously not of high quality and neither is the butter or lard which they use wayyy too much of it, it was coating my mouth.

AMAZING AND ADORABLE! When my boyfriend moved to the island about three years ago, I started coming here and trying out the different flavors. Every pastry has always been divine and the service is fantastic every time. Over the years, we?ve watched this little donut shop grow and grow and I was so excited for them when I found out Guy Fieri visited! Today when I came in the line was out the door, which is something i?ve never seen before. If you wish to skip the line I definitely recommend putting in an on

Many people will be turned away because of the line out the door, but let me tell you that you NEED to wait. The brioche donuts are soft and pillowy. And the cream cheese cinnamon rolls were absolute decadence. You will not regret waiting.

Full disclosure: I love doughnuts. I know a good one from a bad one. Expectations were high given our online research. We were headed home from a few days on SSI and, to be honest, I wasn?t feeling it. My wife wanted to give it a try but I wasn?t in the mood to fight a crowd and (my thought at the time) overpay for doughnuts. But, the wife won, and we went. Parking was tight but we got in. The building itself is really cool, awesome retro vibe, very well done. But I wasn?t there for that. There was a long l

OMG, What a place! We went on 4th of July and got almost all the doughnuts flavors they had. We can't decide which one is better, they are all so fresh and tasty. Beautifully decorated, ample sitting options. Personnel is very helpful and kind. Did I mention they have the best doughnuts?? ?? It's easy to find and there's parking available. When in the area, please take time to go and visit. You'll have a great experience!

I have a tremendous sweet tooth and I have eaten many donuts in my lifetime. These are the best. No exaggeration? these are the very best donuts I?ve ever eaten. Arrive as early as you can because they sell out. Stay and eat them in the charming cottage and garden setting for a wonderful experience all around. This was a highlight of our vacation :)

These were some of the best donuts we've ever had. They were so fresh and light. We'll definitely be back!

The place is very cute! I especially liked the cheerful color scheme and retro countertops. I also loved looking at all the pretty plates and cups displayed while I waited in line to order. I bought a variety of donuts and a quiche. Every bite was delicious!

If you love doughnuts, this place is a MUST on St. Simon's. They are always very busy and have a line wrapped outside. Definately worth the wait. The maple glazed bacon ?? is my fav!

They are very nice and friendly but opening the doors at 7am and not having a full selection of donuts is kinda odd. I was there at 705 and there was a line. But there was not a full selection. Not sure what time you actually have all there donuts put out. I have had them before and they are very good.

If you come to St. Simons Island you have to stop by Dulce Dough! Ryanne, the owner, is such a sweetheart! She sets the tone at the top and the staff are also lovely. I went twice and the first time got the bacon, egg, and cheese cat head biscuit and the next morning I got the cat head biscuit with gravy, both were phenomenal! Donuts and coffee are also delicious! Get there early!

We saw this place on Guy Fieri Eats tv show and wanted to try it out while visiting St. Simon?s! Glad we did! The Cathead biscuit was amazing and so were the doughnuts. The wait can take sometime but it?s worth the wait! We had maybe 20 people ahead of us in the line! That says everything! To top it off I got to see Ms. Carrier working her magic! She puts her heart into this for sure! My wife and I will certainly be back!

Pros: -obviously, they have a great selection of donuts and baked food. I had their buttermilk biscuit with egg and cheese on it. -if you do^ wanna have the biscuit, you can add things to it! Make it your own -lots of seating and a variety of it. Couches, bar seating, tables, outdoor seating. -I like that they have framed art of local elementary students ?? & puzzles in-store for kids to play with. My heart -great coffee/espresso drinks imo -clean bathroom -cool view of everyone baking when you order Thing

Likely the BEST doughnut shop I have ever visited!! We had family group of eight and sampled a variety of their donuts and cinnamon rolls. The texture of the donuts was a light and airy brioche-style-almost reminiscent of the texture of a cronut. The icings and glazes were also excellent, with none of them being too sweet and nothing artificial. The raspberry filled had real raspberry jam! The vanilla iced and cream cheese cinnamon rolls were also delicious and not dry at all! The staff was very friendly an

My husband and I agree that these are the best donuts we have ever had! I would recommend reviewing the menu online before going in the store. The line moves super fast, so there isn?t a ton of time to make up your mind once you are in the line to order.

My wife and I always make it a point to try local doughnut shops when we are traveling. We definitely were not disappointed when we tried Dulce Dough. Amazing!! I consider myself a bit of a donut snob and without reservation I can say that these brioche donuts are the best anywhere. So good, especially if you get them when they are still warm!!

Wow!!!! I literally inhaled my maple brioche donut!! When I came in they literally sold the last few and when I asked if they would have more the chef in the back needed me and told the staff there were more coming out. The staff repeated it. The staff is friendly and very attentive! The donut was awesome!! It is a brioche style which means it's not as dense as a cake donut and the inside is more like a croissant! It reminds me of the cronuts sold in NYC. But this was better!! When it came out it was still

Donuts were so good!!! And such a cute place. ??

The delicious buns, biscuits, coffee, and donuts are even further enhanced by the wonderfully friendly service and welcoming environment; I adore this little shop so much, and I will absolutely be becoming a regular during my six-month stay! (The fact that I love the coffee is really saying something; I?m a Kiwi and quite fussy about my coffee but I love getting my caffeine fix from Dulce Dough!)

Adorable place, very friendly people and yummy donuts! Cheddar, jalape?o biscuit was amazing! We also had the pecan roll, cream cheese cinnamon roll, chocolate frosted, cinnamon donut and peach tart! Everything was amazing!

What is all the hype with these donuts? Don?t Georgians know what a good donut is? Come up to Jersey, and we?ll show you a delicious donut. The chocolate ones were bitter. We didn?t like these donuts at all. We ended up throwing them out. They are very expensive too. Six donuts cost us $23+ change. This place wasn?t worth the trip.

We were incredibly impressed by the quality and expertise that these delicious donuts and biscuits are obviously crafted with. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was hard to beat as well. We can?t wait to come back on our next trip to the island.

Went in for a mid morning breakfast. We got 3 doughnuts an iced coffee, and an iced latte. Everything was great though the doughnuts may have been a little over fried. That might just be me so I didn?t knock anything off for it. The surprise of the visit was the vanilla cream filled which I ended up ordering a second of, bringing our overall doughnut order up to 4. The coffees were also impressive as my iced coffee was very good. There is plenty of seating which I always appreciate.

Wow. WOW. An absolute *must* try. That?s really all I can say about this place. My family and friends knows that I?m a donut aficionado. I?ve traveled all over the world and my current favorite donut shop was in Pittsburgh. (Orams donuts in case you?re wondering). But Dulce Dough just blew that out of the water. We are here visiting for my husbands business trip and I truly cannot say enough about this place. If you?re a foodie - their brioche dough is light on the inside, slightly crispy on the outside, a

First time at Dulce Dough Donut and was very impressed how the service went , the food delicious , I asked for a mug and they provided without any issue. Also my husband saw that they had a record player and they were beyond and above to set up and make that happened for the music to be played. Great place ! Loved it the experience.

Super busy this morning for Father's Day. Staff was pleasant, professional, and accommodating. I feel that the word donut fails to address the deliciousness of these beautiful pastries. Update: visited a second time. Without the owner on site, the staff was rude and aggressive. It's a shame we won't be back. A good treat is never worth being treated as sub-human.

Delicious!! Doughnuts are so airy, the brioche dough makes such a difference. We had the quiche as well, which was really good. Place is really cute and the staff very friendly and helpful. They serve Wake Up Coffee Co which is an added bonus to help another local business. We had the vanilla glazed, chocolate and strawberry - all amazing but vanilla was our favorite! Get there early for best selection.

DELICIOUS FOOD! Definitely try the iced dirty chai, brioche chicken salad, and their donuts. Super fluffy brioche donuts. The chicken salad was divine with jalape?os on it - but not too spicy. They also sell milk glass and they must buy it in bulk because their mugs are cheaper than online!

The best donuts on SSI hands down! Favorites are the maple bacon donut, sugared brioche donut, and blueberry muffin! Fresh, light, and fluffy, these little bites of heaven are worth the wait.

These doughnuts were great! The biscuits were great! The can be a wait at times, don?t go here if you?re in a rush. But do go here if you want some great donuts!!

First time here today! I haven?t even tried their sweets -but this biscuits and gravy is mind blowing! Lots of space and comfy places to sit. LOVE it! They also make pretty good lattes ????

Best doughnuts on the island! My husband and I always make a trip to Dulce Dough when we visit St. Simons! We also love to get their vanilla lattes. Such a cute place to sit down and eat at. Highly recommend!!

i would consider myself a donut connoisseur. i am a donut lover. and when i tell you i think the maple bacon donut is the best donut i have ever eaten??? i am so serious. the entire vibe of the shop was the cutest ever. great service, friendly workers, and incredible food. i wish it wasn?t so far but definitely making an effort to come here whenever i am near!

Dulce dough is the best doughnut shop I have ever been to! Such great service, amazing biscuits, and awesome doughnuts. 170000/5

This place really lived up to the hype. Absolutely delicious, high quality baked goods. You can tell they use high quality, fresh ingredients. Highly recommend the cinnamon rolls but honestly everything was outstanding.

Love to take my grandkids here. Everything is great. The donuts and biscuits are amazing especially the ever changing biscuit.

This is truly a great donut shop, but the last time I visited it was about 11:30am on a Sunday. As I pulled up to turn into the parking lot, everyone is leaving almost in a panic. Sign on door said ?sold out?! Doors locked.? This place closes at 2pm. They sell other items than donuts. Message received! Won?t be back!

Dulce Dough consistently delivers when it comes to freshness and quality. They often sell out of food hours before they close, so get there early! The line is almost always long and moves slowly, but it?s worth the wait.

Feeling the LOVE ?? this morning. Best donut I've had in a long time. I recommend the Berliners. The blueberry ?? biscuit ?? will also please you. Shout out to the crew. PS: I saw a review that the staff was rude. Since I've been coming to Dulce Dough since Day One, I have had simply wonderful ?? interactions with all of the staff.

This a super cute but super tiny place. We waited in line for 10 ish minutes. Very little seating is available so we decided to take our pastries home. The front desk girl was very calm and polite. We ordered a cream cheese cinn roll, vanilla cream brioche, and maple brioche. They were all DIVINE and fluffy and rich. Worth the wait.

First off, I Love this place. But today was awful. Please, please, please prioritize your customers lined up at the door rather than filling online orders. I Arrived at 8 a.m. the line already out the door. I waited nearly 30-45 minutes. Not once did a single donut get restocked. However, online orders were still being filled expeditiously. Basically making my options once I reach the front, zero. I was told I could wait, then told that if it?s not in the window then I can?t have it. Time and time again

What an AMAZING place! I got 2 maple frosted cinnamon rolls, 2 vanilla frosted cinnamon rolls and a maple frosted doughnut. OMG! Heaven in my mouth. I totally recommend this place for breakfast and brunch.

Wonderful place! Staff is very friendly and attentive. Owner is a doll. Donuts are to die for! So good. You will not be disappointed! Go early, right when they open!

We arrived at 730 am. They open at 7 am. There was already a line but it was worth the wait! So delish! ??

We found this spot on our way to the beach. Such a cute shop with friendly staff. Brioche doughnuts were fantastic! Try the French Silk or Strawberry Berliner!

Nice little place. The retro d?cor was cute as hell and the baked goods were also pretty good. The coffee was just OK - didn't love it, didn't hate it. For me though, I love a coffee shop as a good hang, a place to crack open a laptop, maybe do a little people watching. For me, this just isn't that place.

Absolutely worth the hype! Trust when I say the line is worth it. Sooo good!

Probably the best doughnuts I?ve ever had.

Amazing donuts!! We stopped 3 different times during our week on the island. We loved everything we tried. I completely agree with other reviewers that they were the best donuts I?ve had!! So light and airy and the cream was fantastic! The ever changing blueberry biscuits are also wonderful! Love this place! We make sure to stop in next time!

This spot is absolutely amazing. There is only one other donut shop, that i have been to (and absolutely love), that hits like this place. Top-notch. The regular vanilla glazed donut slaps. The cinnamon roll is decadent. The sticky bun is outrageous. This place is the definition of quality. Highly recommend if you are visiting the island! I'd be sure to place your pickup order the day before(online ordering opens at 4pm for the next day -ie: if you want your donuts for Friday morning, order them at 4pm on T

Definitely a popular place for donuts and treats. Long line even on a Wednesday morning. Staff did their best to expedite.

Totally agree with the other posts about the atmosphere and both sweet and savory food options (quiche, biscuit and gravy are amazing). While we waited in line for over 20 minutes, it was totally worthwhile. The staff takes time to connect with you, answer questions about the donuts and make you feel like you are welcomed for more than just a means to paying the bills. I?ve never had a better donut than the ones we tasted here (and I?ve had many??). If you don?t have time to wait in the line and gain th

All I have to say is... fresh made brioche donuts. (Not yeast. Not cake. Brioche.) Like biting into air. My favorite is the chocolate iced. I got a combo of them including: maple, maple bacon, cinnamon, chocolate, and vanilla. Everyone loved their donuts. I also purchased the Quiche Florentino. I bought this because a customer in the restaurant loved his so much, I wanted to try it. Let's just say I went back to buy another piece of quiche, another chocolate donut, and cup of coffee. They source their coffe

When I tell you that these are the best donuts I?ve EVER had in my LIFE!!! I am only 26, but I can assure you that I will never have better donuts than these. My favorites are chocolate brioche and the buttermilk biscuit; what can I say, I?m a purist. Other family faves include the maple bacon (if you get there early enough to snag one - they go fast) and the Spicy Cat Head biscuit.

Wow what a wonderful place. An amazing hometown atmosphere and delightful pastries. They have attentive staff under the creative owner/baker Ryanne Carrier. Very well done Dulce Dough keep up the good work!

If you want to eat, don?t go here. They cook one time in the morning then call it quits. You want a cinnamon roll? Too late John order the one they made and they can?t be bothered to cook more. Better yet, they don?t care that you wanted it. They got their money. They don?t need you. They aren?t the friendliest bunch or concerned with what you want. Their food is good (if you can get any) but that?s all that matters to them.

We came to Saint Simons for a family vacation and planned on getting brunch at certified burger just to try the fabulous donuts they had been posting on their FB page... but they let us know their baker opened up her own bakery! So happy they told us where to go. The pastries were incredible! First time having a brioche donut! We got an assortment and the only one we didn't care for was the "Homer" donut. The bakery itself is the cutest restaurant I've ever seen. The antique Hoosier cabinet, the colored mil

Be sure you?re there early. The good stuff will sell out. A simple vanilla brioche donut and a cup of coffee is the best way to start your day. They have lots of seasonal flavors as well so you will find something you want

The best donuts in the Golden Isles! Breakfast sandwiches are good, too. Counter service for ordering food with a cute Dutch-style atmosphere.

Donuts were alright. The orange juice was highly overpriced. 7.00 for an 8 0z thing of oj is crazy. Donuts lacked the wow factor of what was expected.

Good place for doughnuts and coffee, they actually can sell out if you get here too late. Also their bacon, egg and cheese on a brioche bun is amazing

Former pastry chef here, and this place INCREDIBLE!! It?ll knock your socks off. We picked up a haul of quiche, donuts, biscuits, and coffee, and everything was phenomenal. Can?t go wrong with anything. Thank you for making such incredible pastries!!

Best. Doughnuts. Ever. We come here every time we are in SSI! We went 4 times during our last trip! It is consistently delicious both the doughnuts and biscuits and coffee!!! Love the staff!

Worth the drive from Jekyll to try these delicious brioche donuts! Wow! The brioche dough is so airy. The flavors were sweet, but not overly sugary.

Dulce Dough is such a gem! The hubs and I picked up a variety of doughnuts our first morning here and took them back to share with our teenagers. Everyone loved them! I am a cinnamon fanatic and the cinnamon doughnut is the most delicious doughnut I have ever had. The other faves were the Rasberry Berliner and the Blueberry Crumble. We loved it so much, it was our last stop before we left the island. We got more doughnuts to take with us and also grabbed several savory breakfast items that were just as i

Amazing. Cinnamon Rolls are so fresh and delicious. Biscuits and Gravy was great. I will be back If you are close by you must stop in.

It's amazing. Love it.

Great old school atmosphere, polite service, high quality treats made in house. Worth ordering ahead or they will sell out by noon.

The quality is something you would expect to find in Europe. We were very surprised to find something this excellent.

BEST cinnamon roll I've ever put in my mouth!! Not too sweet, creaminest frosting.... DELICIOUS!!

We got the Berliner and it was delicious! The strawberry fig jam was fresh and the jam to donut ratio was perfect!

The vanilla iced cinnamon roll was good, I prefer the soft type to the crusty shell plus at 10 there were only two left and not as good as they were probably. They warmed it up for us which helped. The people were nice.

Come early bc they sell out! Fifteen in line five mins after opening. Cinnamon doughnut was airy and perfect! Delicious doughnuts! Recommend.

The best place in Georgia for food and drinks. The decor was very nice. The service was fast and helpful.

We visit the area every winter and we have been looking for a bakery we like. We stopped this morning to give Dulce Dough Donuts a try. We bought 2 of their cream cheese topped cinnamon rolls. They were fantastic! I have a memory of loving cinnamon rolls, but over the last several years everyone I?ve tried has fell well short of my memory. That changed today. We will be back. Hopefully not too often as my waste line couldn?t take it! Do yourself a favor and stop by, but get there early as it looks like the
