Duck Donuts

The shop was just next to the Chinese supermarket so it was quite a convenient spot to get some sweets. The selection of donuts was great - a range of sweet and savoury options. The staff was really nice and the shop was full of kids running (as you may have expected), which would remind you to walk carefully. The donuts were very soft and fluffy - the sugar glazing was quite heavy and the sweetness level might be quite high for many. In short, quite a nice donut but not an every week thing.

Duck Donuts themselves are the MOST AMAZING Donuts AROUND, I LUV THEM VERY MUCH. They're the BEST ?? Unfortunately, The atmosphere & service at my location is just OK nothing special I'm afraid. Pretty drab, lol. I just go in get my Donuts & I'm out, that's it.

I?m beginning to think they just don?t wanna work. The last time I was there the refrigerator was down or it was the air conditioner some BS, they couldn?t make donuts. This place is trash at best I ordered coffee waited 20 minutes I ordered donuts when I couldn?t wait any longer I actually got to cancel and just do a refund that I will go to Panera bread he said to me then I?ll just throw these cups of coffee away then I don?t care. This place is really awesome. You can watch your fresh dounts getting cooked while waiting. Super nice staff. Super delicious dfresh and warm donuts. They have many flavors to choose from, I personally love the French toast dount. The milk shake also taste Super good and they are generous with it. The place has inside seating tables, free water in a big jar to fill from, disposable utincels. also, they have clean restrooms. This place is truly worth the five stars.

First time try and it was absolutely delicious! Got a chocolate covered strawberry and a blueberry glazed donut. The donut was warm and moist on the inside and it was went perfectly with the glaze. Would definitely come back! Service was excellent as well!

Horrible. Literally a hot mess. I?ve never not finished a donut, so this was a first. I ordered one ?maple? and one ?chocolate.? The cake donut itself was undercooked and mushy, then covered in really hot, watery maple and chocolate glaze. The result was a too-mushy-to-handle, oily non-food. See the photo. First time here. The key is they start with absolutely delicious donuts. The rest is just icing on the cake (pun intended of course). My favorite of the day: maple glaze with cinnamon sugar. Simple and simply outstanding.

Got up late Saturday morning and drove down to Ducks Doughnuts. The line was to the door and as soon as the door opened this gust of delicious doughnut air hit me! I am not a fan of cake doughnuts but these were very good, especially since they are made fresh out the fryer. The cool thing is that you can customize them with the frosting and toppings.

Probably never going back. My first time here so I was surprised by the custom made to order process, thought it was a normal shop. Went in morning an hour after opening and they didn?t quite have donuts ready yet. I received half dozen hot donuts that were covered with hot glazes. I have all ways loved Duck Donuts for years i am glad they have this new Fairfax lochion.they have fresh good donuts love the glassed chocolate the peanut butter and the baken toped are great the oreo one good as well. I highly recommend you give this place a try.

Who doesn't like warm yummy donuts? First time here while visiting in the area. Love this concept of made to order flavors. We had an assortment but the maple bacon was the best.

Wow! Upon walking in, service was amazing. The donuts come out hot and you pick your own toppings and flavors. The batter is cake on all donuts so it's light and fluffy. Delicious. We're from the Bay Area, CA so we don't have anything like this. We began asking the gentlemen lots of questions about the donut process, he was more than happy to educate us. Then sent us with a couple extra. Thank you! We won't forget Duck Donuts!!!

First time trying Duck Donuts. The employees were helpful and friendly. Donuts are very fresh and tasty. You can create your own toppings but since it was my first time I picked the already made up combinations which they have plenty to choose from.

I?ve been missing this place since the one near me closed. For a Saturday morning they were busy, but it took no time for the order to come out. I highly recommend this donut shop to EVERYONE. Granted it is a little messy while still warm, but it is perfection.

Not bad. Glad this is a relatively local business that is surviving the pandemic. They provide great donuts, made to order, with an artistic enthusiasm to the delicacies they offer. Their other competition, Sugar Shack donuts (which had recently closed their northern VA locations, unfortunately), were, in my honest opinion, a better donut shop. First time here. Came in and immediately saw how dingy it was. Told the 2 lady?s working it was our first time and she just handed us a menu. No welcome, explanation of how it works. Then saw the topics table, wall, floor, countertops, and decided to pass. I don?t care how good the donuts are, a dirty store and poor customer service will never get me to spend money. Tip for the owner? deep clean this store, it?s gross and teach the team members how to clean up when it?s slow. Also they need training.

Fresh vanilla cake donuts with your choice of glaze and topping. It's a donut bar -- prepared as ordered. They were, of course, delicious because they were fresh off the frier. Came here to get some donuts with a friend and the donuts are amazing! You can choose what type of glazing you want on the donut with a topping and a drizzle and the person who made our donuts was great. The donuts are made extremely fresh (we saw them coming out of the machine) and are made to order with your add-ons. Got their holiday mix. They are delicious fresh but a little heavy handed with the toppings. The new chocolate cake donuts are not as good as the regular cake donuts. The texture is not as moist and the chocolate flavor is more like a cocoa flavor. The mint icing wasn't minty enough. Stick with the regular classic flavors.

Despicable customer service! The team members won?t even acknowledge you or greet you when you walk into the door. This is the second time now where it was a clear inconvenience and bother that I wanted to place an order. Needless to say I left out without spending any money.

Best donuts I've had in awhile. I wish more donut shops had this model where they make the donuts fresh and add the icing and other toppings after. Donut texture is the perfect balance of fluff and chew, and I loved the frosting. Really like the kiosk ordering option, and the shop itself has everything you need to eat there or eat it to go (napkins, free self-serve water, self-serve utensils). Pretty fast service.

The donuts were good but the coffee was thick and strange.

I honestly didn't know what to expect - a coworker had brought some Duck Donuts in one day and it was a fun experience trying bits from non standard donuts. So it was incredibly fun building donuts via the checklist that they have available at the shop with my son and then watching the Donuteers put our order together. Highly recommended to break the monotony of Dunkin or Krispy.

Fresh, delicious and versatile. Sometimes the staff gets the order wrong, but they are very friendly and willing to correct the mistake. My only issue is that the donuts get glued to each other by the time I get home. So, they are best eaten hot and fresh in the store.

Experience wise, it was awesome! So many colorful donuts to choose. If one makes party theme of donuts, this is the place to go I guess. And also they make it fresh. So we get the donuts made right there after we order. But taste wise, I didn?t like it much. For me it was too sweet. The dough or base is good but the toppings all that I tried turned out too sweet for me. I didn?t see any filling type donut either which was disappointing.

Customer service was excellent however this place was extremely hot. I couldn't stay inside the store and decided to take donuts home. The air conditioner was not working. It was 7:30 am and was feeling 80s outside. I feel for the people working with this poor condition. Owner needs to improve this issue asp!

The coffee here is also pretty good and goes great with your warm made to order donuts. I came in to grab donuts with my mom who has a very severe nut allergy. We came in at 6:20 on April 18 and the girl who made our donuts did not change her gloves and we didn?t have a chance to correct her and ask her to change them in between her orders due to the fact that she was more interested in talking with her coworker about the night before then actually working. This location has really gone down hill in customer service. Girl on her phone hiding her face with her hair the entire time when I walked in. So I decided to use their self serve ordering kiosk on the counter. And when you get called over for your order duck donuts wants them to show you the donuts to ensure your satisfaction. Staff is good and the storefront is nice. The donuts are okay but a little overpriced. Their big thing is the ability to customize any topping you want on your donut. If you just get a generic topping like glaze or sprinkles it is probably better to go somewhere else.

I moved here from the Outerbanks so I have been to the original Duck Donuts a lot over the past 20 some years. There is something that just doesn't catch the true authentic flavor. These are good and since the Outerbanks is hours away I will still eat these when I get a "longing for home", but there is a difference. Maybe it's the salt air. Outstanding food, but the staff was overwhelmed the day we went. They either lost part of our order, or gave it to another customer. After waiting for 20 minutes to hear the on-line order was ready, I had to interrupt one of the workers to inquire on the status of the order. She had to reprint the ticket to assemble the donuts, meaning our breakfast sandwiches were sitting on the counter getting cold. We'll be back since the food is so good, but hope they don't experience the same issues next time.

I would give no stars for their service and definitely NO stars for the cleanliness of the place. Dust everywhere and no one seems to want to wipe tables clean after their customers leave. Service was fast, and I like that you can customize your donuts with a variety of toppings. I tried a variety, and while they were good, there was one that stood out from the rest - the maple bacon donut. They are addictive. That will be my go-to donut now any time I have a craving.

Hit and miss. If they would taste test the oil used for frying donuts, taste would be more consistent. Sometimes, all you can taste is rancid oil.

I?ve come to duck donuts a bunch and have always loved it, but it wasn?t until I brought my family visiting from California here that I realized what a gem it is. California has a lot of donut shops- really really great small businesses with the iconic pink boxes and cake donuts. But they were thoroughly impressed by the sheer deliciousness of the donuts here. They?re perfectly warm and not too heavy. The toppings and customizations are endless. The service was quick and friendly as well. Very pleased!

Terrible online ordering system and you can?t get a refund from the store. Apparently the store owner can only process them?..they will not call you if anything is wrong with your order. Poor customer service. Pick another place. There are plenty in their area that have great donuts.

Amazing donuts! I love the customization factor here. There's basically a donut for everyone. We got a bucket of donuts and got a wide variety. They make these donuts fresh in front of you, so by the time you get them they're still hot. My favorite is probably a tie between the classic chocolate with rainbow sprinkles or the peanut butter chocolate donut. Service is really friendly. Definitely a crowd pleaser!

This was my first time ever going here. I went here to get some donuts for my daughter and her friends. I looked at one of the donuts and it looked absolutely amazing. The donuts were nice and warm and smelled great. I immediately went back up to the counter and ordered myself one also. It was the best donut that I have ever had which was the cookies and cream donut with chocolate drizzle. I definitely recommend going here at least once the staff was also patient and helpful.

Some quality control is needed at the Fairfax store. I?ve been to the original store in Duck, and there is something off about the presentation at Fairfax. All the ingredients are wonderful, but my guess is they are applying the toppings while the donuts are too hot. It?s causing the donuts to stick to the box and melt the toppings. Still good, but could be better with a little more employee training and supervision I think.

I've been here three times and ordered 6 donuts each time. The donuts are good, but each time there were multiple mistakes. Part of the appeal is to pick your own toppings, so it's disappointing to get home and not have what was ordered. Granted if I had picked them up I would have double checked, but my kids not so much.

Sometimes the service is a bit slow if they are busy. But this is due to the hand dipped, hand made nature of your order. As far as the donuts, these are hands down the best donuts I have ever tasted. However if you don't like cake donuts these are not for you since that is the only kind they have. Be warned - do not go if you don't want to create a potential addiction!

They call them donuts, but they really are delicious little cakes with an unending variety of toppings. Paired with a Duck Donuts coffee, and you got a great way to start any adventure. The food, drinks, and staff are great! But, don't come here if you just started your diet; the temptation is to great and you'll end up leaving with a baker's dozen.

Would have been 5 stars, except I got there 35 min after placing my online order, and they hadn't even started making it. The guy at the register didn't care... he was too busy playing on his phone to help. Had to wait 25 min for them to finish another customers dozen before I finally got what I ordered (now 1 hour previously). The only employee working hard was the one girl making the donuts, which were excellent. *sigh* Next time, I'm ordering at another location.

The donuts are delicious. It's always warm and prepared strictly to order. They ask you if you like the way they made them before giving them to you and if you don't or you find a hair or something in one, they remake your whole order.
