Generally, unless you show up at 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning, you're going to get staler doughnuts. It's somewhat hit or miss in that respect. The help is likewise hit or miss. The older workers are very friendly and helpful. The younger workers, not so much. When the younger help is there, their attitude is "why are you disturbing my paid period of inactivity." It's a shame because this place used to be top notch. I give it two stars because I used to love this place and I feel nostalgic.

This place makes the most perfect, delicious donuts. Freshly made every day and they dont taste like chemicals and preservatives. Real food. The owner and staff are friendly and the prices are amazing. They have good iced coffee at a great price too.

Minimal variety. They didn?t have maple or chocolate donuts when I went in just after 10. Donuts were thick and dry. Not the worst, but def not the best. Place smells very bad, like mildew. Staff was nice at least.

Don?t usually leave reviews but this place definitely DESERVES IT. The donuts tasted delicious and they were very soft especially the chocolate cake glazed. I was in and out with speedy service. Price was very reasonable. I got a half dozen and pastry puff for 9$. Would 10/10 recommend for local donuts!

Ordered donuts for an event and picked them up this morning and they are fantastic. The dough is so soft and light and while you can smell the sugar the taste is just perfect and it isn't too overpowering. They have perfected the donut.

Went in after the heavy storms that ripped through NEO. Was thrilled that they were actually open with electricity. Took two boxes, 2 days in a row to work. The pistachio muffins were especially tasty. You don't find those everywhere. My coworkers loved all the donuts, cranberry, blueberry, and banana nut muffins. Excellent and thankfully, 0 smoking allowed. Do NOT miss that with older coffeeshops.

The build seems a little rough, but the staff is fantastic. They are very friendly. They lack the variety of menu options available in chain doughnut shops, but there's something to be said about the simplicity. There is a good reason this place persists for generations.

Freshest doughnuts around and a whole lot of varieties - long John?s, maple glazed with cream filling, Boston cream, powder sugar jelly filled, chocolate cake glazed, apple fritters, and the list goes on? a few muffins and pastries even. Donuts were great! What donuts were there anyway. Got there at 930 a.m. on Sunday. Almost al varieties were gone. The girl behind the counter could only offer "we were busy this morning". They were supposed to be open until late afternoon but no donuts were being made? I would definitely go back if I knew they would have a wider selection.

When working in Cleveland I would stop once each month or so. A couple dozen assorted donuts were great for sharing with coworkers. Now that we have moved back to the western suburbs it is worth a short side trip whenever we are as close as Westlake. Still great donuts and wonderful people.

Always a pleasure to visit, they have a hitching hook outside for your dog, it's shaded and has access to a water bowl so that you can go in and grab your donuts. They also have dog biscuits for your friend to enjoy! Pepper loves them and carries her biscuits all the way home.

There aren?t too many doughnut shops left like this one! The owner is amazing, the staff are incredibly courteous. They have a grand selection of donuts and pastries. Now for the minus 1 star. Personally I like a more moist doughnut, and sometimes the doughnut pantry are a bit drier. That doesn?t take away from there excellent longstanding history with the residents of Lakewood. I recommend going earlier so you can choose from their whole selection but I still got some really great pastries! The donuts are incredibly moist! Can?t wait to return:)

I have been going here since 1982 and love visiting when in Lakewood. Staff is very cheerful and give a great greeting. The donuts are always fresh. Coffee smells great and the dining area is clean. Restroom is locked amd available upon request. This makes it very clean. Highly recommended.

Simple and delicious, as nature intended. A classic no-frills kinda place with classic doughnuts that are fresh, tasty and CHEAP. Today I grabbed a chocolate frosted cake doughnut, an apple danish and a medium coffee. It was $5.15. Perfect. If you?re looking for an old-school spot run by very nice people who take pride in their work then this is it. Bonus points for ample parking, no minimum on credit cards, and fantastic service. I just moved to the area so I?ll be back!

YUM! I don't know why I waited so long to stop into this place! It is a small shop, with short hours, but the bakery items are on point! They use traditional donut recipes and make them simply and perfectly. Their pastry dough is once again a simple flavor profile, but exactly what one would want in a truly good pastry. Their almond puff pastry is to die for! Unfortunately, I am only in the area once a month, but I make sure I make a stop and drop some "dough" and stock up on pastries for the next few days!

Doughnut Pantry is as much a treasure of Lakewood as the other special independently owned / family unique businesses there. The quality of the doughnuts - any one of the great variety - has been steady during the 23 years whenever I popped in. The quality is matchless - superior to Dunkin Donuts and to another franchise. The premises are clean including the windows. The energy of the staff is friendly and cheerful.

Although I am a fan of trendy donut places with outlandish donut options, sometimes it's nice to just have a no frills, regular donut. The Doughnut Pantry delivers on that excellently while still having a variety of donut options. A favorite in the morning when guests are in town visiting.
