I absolutely love Dottie?s Donuts in South Philly! Even though they?re not the closest location to me, they are always my go-to. I usually order through Grubhub, but I like to call ahead first to see what?s available for the day and the staff never disappoints. They?re consistently kind, helpful, and always happy to give great recommendations. The donuts are fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious every single time. You can tell they really care about the quality and customer experience. The team here is
I?m not vegan but I enjoy stopping by Dottie?s Donuts! It doesn?t matter what time of day. The glazed donut is always soft and fresh! I can?t wait to go back and try their other donut options and specialty baked goods. A must-try spot!
I had the pleasure of trying Dottie's Donuts in Wissahickon, Philadelphia at a yelp event last night it is a fantastic vegan bakery that offers a wide variety of delicious treats. From classic donut flavors like chocolate glazed and powdered sugar to more unique options like matcha and lavender lemon, there is something for everyone at Dottie's. The donuts were very fresh and flavorful, with a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. I highly recommend Dottie's Donuts to anyone looking for a tasty vegan
Stumbled upon this charming little shop when I was on a walking tour. Donut was amazing - great texture and flavor - not too sweet. I had the strawberry filled. Service was ok - could have been more welcoming, but he did his job.
Very happy to have found this excellent vegan donut shop not far from home. Their donuts taste fresh and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. We 've sampled the classic chocolate and vanilla flavors as well as more exotic (but equally delcious) macha, blueberry glazed and lemon poppyseed varieties. Highly recommend their cinnamon buns if they're in. They also make an amazing fudgy brownie. Insiders know you have to ask for it because quantities are limited. On some days, they also sell vegan bage
Well I didn?t actually go in person, I ordered online because I?m not feeling too well- but the donuts are so good! very soft also i?m surprised how affordable they are especially being vegan. Thank you to Brenna who wrote on my delivery box, she really looked through the notes about my coffee, and explained it on the box with a bunch of doodles and hearts. That made me feel better after having a bad couple few days :,)
my fave donut shop in philly, for the skeptics - you can't tell it's vegan. I love yeast donuts (dunkin/krispie k fan) so this place hits the spot. They always got some funky new flavors debuting from their IG page, sometimes fun tv-show themes for all the fandoms. They sell out quickly though! I'm still determined to try their new limited dubai chocolate flavor, might need to camp-out for that one. Not fond of their current location in south street for convenience reasons, would be lovely to have one close
I want to write a lot because I want the review bots to pick this up, but it's quite simple, really: Dottie's is my favorite joint in Philly. If you get a chance to get a dunkaroos donut, do it! If you're just passing through Philly, stop here to grab some. The staff is always nice and I've never had a bad donut there. I go every Saturday!
Cute locally owned donut shop that is a great small business! Their donuts are vegan which sets them apart from most donut shops. I give a 4 star rating because the taste of their donuts were very good, but not amazing. Still definitely worth a taste though!
Amazing vegan donuts! Still super fluffy and not overly sweet.
I am a vegan with a huge sweet tooth and this place just hits the spot! I don?t think I?ve ever had a bad experience here! Always soft and tasty ?? I highly recommend if you?re ever in the area ??
Happened upon this spot on a walk and I am glad I did! Yummy donuts and lots of options. Staff was patient and kind. I'll be back!
Simply love Dottie?s Donuts and since they are Vegan I feel slightly better about eating 3 of them! The Pistachio Chocolate and the Lemon Raspberry are faves.
Picked up a fancy dozen today as soon as they opened for a group we were meeting today for donut day and was a pretty disappointed. Lemon Poppy was the best out of the four kinds we chose which were matcha, strawberry, and chocolate almond. We?ve had donuts from the other location before, but these didn?t seem to be the be the same.
I am not vegan. but I love donuts. I am so glad we tried Dottie?s. it was delicious, our family enjoyed it. my favorite from the bunch was the rosewater pistachio. the donut was fluffy, not dry, not cakey (I was not the biggest fan of the cardamom buttercream filled donut, too sweet for me). looking forward in trying out other flavors in the future.
Absolutely delicious ? wish I could go back more often. I got the s?mores donut. Be aware that their hours are until 3 pm but they close as soon as they sell out, which can happen as early as 11 am!
Been to 2 dotties locations on visits to philly and they're incredible, best vegan donuts I ever had and a great range, new flavours every time, please come to London!!
This place is amazing!!! Not only are the staple donuts absolutely delicious, their daily specials are on another level. If that wasn't enough, the people and the service are outstanding. Always so friendly and helpful and always looking to ensure you are satisfied. I can't speak highly of them enough. If you are in the area, checking them out is a must. But don't wait too late into the afternoon, because they may sell out. They're that good!!
The restaurant was small, but very nice. The staff was polite, and the donuts were good. I recommend this place for breakfast or lunch
Delicious! Originally, my party of two ordered 3 pastries, but we ended up with 3 more before we left because we hadnt had enough. As a vegan I always scope out a handful of places to try whenever I travel; this is hands down top 3 in my book. The staff was super friendly and helpful as we tried to decide what to order; the prices range up to $2.50 or $3, which surprised me. I expected it would be closer to $5 a pop. They have a wide variety of flavours for any taste palate. The flavours we tried were: Thai
Incredible vegan donuts, awesome variety of unique and creative flavors that should keep you coming back. The Chocolate Pistachio, Rice Krispy Treat, Raspberry Coconut, and The Mysterious Mystery donuts were all amazing.
Cute little donut shop, excellent flavors! The pumpkin cheesecake (in the fall) was the best. You would never know the donuts were vegan. Definitely a little hidden, but worth searching for
Great donuts!!! Lots of different flavors to try. The staff is friendly.
I was looking for treat options for my two kids who are dairy/egg and dairy/banana allergic. I walked a little over a mile each way from our hotel and let me say, every step was worth it! They are delicious and worth a stop, even if you are not vegan. Yummy treats, thank you!
This cup of coffee was very good. This cup of cup beats out the bigger chains. The cup is made to order, so there could be a wait if it is busy. I think the cup is worth the wait though. I got the americano and it was priced reasonably, and the Taste was great. I recommend it black with no sugar, too get the maximum flavor of the coffee itself. If you are in the area i would recommend stopping by!
Soft and fluffy delightful leg day fuel. Not too doughy and heavy. Dottie's helps to prove that vegan donuts are far superior to regular ones! The iced coffee is pretty solid too, even black like I like mine these days. Please make a stop here when in Philly!
These were AMAZING. I have been on the hunt for 3 years for a good vegan donut, and I FINALLY found them. They have so many flavors! The day I chose, they had matcha vanilla, cookie butter jelly filled, and almond joy. I?m from out of state, so I?m not able to go here all the time, but believe me when I say that if I could go daily, I would. I miss it already! They even drew a cute little image on it since I had it delivered from caviar. Overall, Dottie?s helped me have a great lazy morning on my vacation,
Pretty fantastic donuts here! We had a Boston creme and a jelly filled. Fairly standard but so well done. The place is quaint with not much seating and the staff was friendly. I hope their ?? selection expands!
I?ve been eating Dottie?s since I was pregnant 8 years ago and have never stopped. They?re delicious!!
I really liked the donuts. There's something about these donuts. Yummy! I had the blueberry donut and apple fritter. I am glad to finally have visited both locations.
Our favorite donuts! If you like Boston Creme you have to try their version. You will need more than one! Be careful?.if you love donuts don?t follow them on IG? it will make you dream of donuts!!!! Get here early!! Well worth it!
Dottie?s donuts are simply the best in Philly (and probably the best I?ve had anywhere), hands down! Vegan and delicious, you can?t get any better than that!
My favorite donut shop!! I like the texture of the dough and the level of the sweetness. Fresh and no artificial flavors. It?s perfect with iced americano!
Dottie?s Donuts in Philadelphia is a haven for donut aficionados! Located at 509 S 6th St, Philadelphia, this vegan donut shop is a burst of sweetness in the city. With a delightful array of flavors that rotate regularly, each donut is a masterpiece of taste and texture. The airy, light dough paired with unique toppings like blueberry rosewater and mini pop tarts make for an irresistible treat. Whether you?re pairing a classic donut with a robust cup of coffee or indulging in a filled delight, Dottie?s is a
The donuts were of poor quality, in my opinion. Initially, I believed it was a matter of personal taste, but upon consulting with my child, I discovered that they shared my negative assessment. Furthermore, I found the manner in which the donuts were displayed to be unhygienic. They were placed on stackable racks in an open space, directly adjacent to the worker, rather than being enclosed in a glass casing to protect them from contamination by germs, flies, and insects. This practice is unacceptable and do
I love this place. I drive 30 mins just to make it here. Always has the most unique flavors. Nice quiet place.
My wife is obsessed with the cinnamon rolls. Dottie?s is the best. We love you guys. My favorite was the cannoli and the chocolate cookie.
No better donut around! A friend visiting from the South - where donuts are a religion - said these were the best he and his wife ever had. I couldn't agree more. 10/10
Recently stopped in to try these after a few years out of town. Donuts may be vegan but quality wise they're not much better than a dunkin' donut or non-vegan grocery store donut.
Absolutely delicious! The blue raspberry is divine, the Oreo chocolate is delicious and the cinnamon sugar goes perfect with a cup of coffee!
Incredible vegan donuts, I wish they had a south Philly location. Everything is perfect and the rotating menus keep the excitement alive. I only wish they stayed open past three or did toogood2go, but perhaps they sellout often!
These donuts are unreal and vegan . So amazing, this donut is chocolate caramel cheesecake
Outstanding vegan donut shop. Always a great, rotating selection of specialty donuts including iced, and filled and fritters. There is seating but is more of a takeout place. Friendly staff and decent pricing.
Only vegan donuts I?ve ever found and so so good. They don?t have that ?healthy? taste that most vegan remakes have, they actually taste very authentic, even my friend who came with me who is not vegan thought they tasted like a better version of normal donuts. I wish I could eat these everyday but I think it?s lucky I live an hour away or I actually would eat them everyday. Seriously give these a try, you will not regret it. They have an amazing assortment of flavors so there is one for everyone.
I visited this place as a continuation of my ongoing review of donut shoppes across the US. I was interested in the name primarily, which conveys a classic, diner type of atmosphere which was unfortunately not present in the actual place which I found lacking any real personality or character. I found my Boston cream donut to be serviceable but unimpressive, the rest of the selection did not appear that variable, fresh or appetizing at the time of my visit. I may try to come back earlier to see what things
My favorite donuts in Philly. Check their Instagram for the days flavors. Apple fritters are hella good. Mmmm
Holy smokes!!!! I freaking adore this shop. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The donuts are so amazing and they honestly don?t even taste vegan! The flavors are changing daily/weekly and wow, all of the flavors I tried are amazing. I personally go for the strawberry sprinkle or vanilla sprinkle kind! Anyone who is questioning whether they should stop buy here, please just do it! You won?t be disappointed ???? Alssooo: I love how seriously they are taking COVID-19. You can?t walk into the store, no
I love donuts and these are my favorite! I?m not sure what they put in these donuts but they are wildly addicting! I usually just go for the chocolate frosted. I?m not vegan but these beat non vegan donuts without a question!
It's a cute spot. I didn't dislike the donuts. Not much into vegan. I wish the chocolate and Bavarian cream had more taste. But if you like vegan...I'm sure it's perfect
The donuts are fresh, slightly chewy, fluffy and thick. Totally good! The service is friendly and fast and the interior is adorable. I don't get coffee from here only because I like cream in mine but I noticed they have reasonable prices for a small coffee ($2) and large ($2.5); a small coffee at Ultimo is $2.65 so the prices are competitive! Keep up the great work!
The Donuts are delicious!!!! I went to the express location very cute and quaint. They didn?t have much of a variety however the young lady behind the counter was SUPER! She stated that the main location would be delivering soon. She was so sweet. She suggested going to the other location. I really wanted to try a variety however there wasn?t much of a selection however I tried the chocolate which was delicious!!!!
Cute little place with some cool unique donut options but I was not a huge fan. There was not much flavor and I was not a huge fan of the texture. Especially considering they are about $3 per donut maybe a tiny bit more. I prefer myself a more cakey donut. The gentleman working behind the counter was not very friendly barely broke a smile or said a word so it made the experience that much worse. Overall I would not return again
You can't beat a perfect donut and Dottie's offers plenty of them. There are classic donuts, "deluxe" donuts featuring unique flavor combinations and toppings, and filled donuts. Be adventurous and try something interesting like matcha pistachio or a glaze featuring herbs such as thyme or rosemary. The flavors are delicious and the donuts are the perfect density.
Awesome vegan doughnuts and little cakes! Excellent location just off of South Street. Perfect re-fuel for your day of exploring this fun and funky neighborhood. Super-friendly staff and great selection, even by the early afternoon. Come hungry!
I stopped in for the first time because I live like an hour away, the employee made the best espresso and was so kind. The donuts are amazing I'll 100% be back
Delicious !!!! So many vegan options and they taste amazing. I had all of my kids pick a donut , they all picked the birthday cake donut and they all loved it ! Not one complaint haha We will be stunting for my treats very soon. Oh the park across the street was a great accidental addition to our trip here also. Perfect location for kids.
Really excellent vegan donut! Very tender and fluffy and nicely frosted. This holds up to the best vegan donuts I?ve had anywhere in the country.
Love love love this place! Donuts are one of my all time favorite desserts, and it's really hard to find vegan ones. Dotties is excellent. Huge fan of the Dots and the apple fritter. They can sell out quickly, especially on the weekends, and they don't make more. So if you really want to be sure you get what you want, get there early, especially on the weekend. I just wish they had more locations, or even vendored to other stores to sell their amazing desserts.
I got 2 donuts at 2pm, the Oreo cookies and a cinnamon sugar. They were ok, I kind of appreciated the nutmeg in the dough. I wasn't amazed with the flavor of the icing or the taste/texture of the dough. For example, when I get donuts from the Amish market in Glen Mills I can taste the difference. Here I didn't with what I tried.
Meh. Nothing to write home about. Definitely not worth $3.
This is NOT one of those places where you are disappointed by vegan baked goods. Quite the opposite. The donuts were delicious, though some flavors are better than others. If they opened earlier, I'd probably grab coffee and donuts for breakfast more often.
Delicious and great flavors, and a bonus that they are vegan. The staff is great; I lost my mask on the bike ride over and they not only let me order still but gave me a KN95 mask to wear. Love both locations!
Great for vegan if that?s your thing. My thing is eating the best possible foods and not rigidly defining myself by the foods I eat. I would rather get donuts at Federal. I understand these are vegan, however I buy donuts solely because they are delicious, not because of some dietary choice. No one worth your time will judge you for eating what you like. My suggestion is do a bang-bang and try both, and compare for yourself. *Dotties filled donuts are great and Federal does not offer filled donuts so if yo
Always delicious. Best donuts I've ever had
I have tried doughnuts all over the east coast. These are vegan doughnuts that are yeasted to produce more of a fluffy bread feel. If you think that these doughnuts are sacrificing anything for being vegan, you would be mistaken. These are some of the best doughnuts you can get anywhere regardless of your dietary preference. You can tell this company takes pride in producing a quality product. The staff was friendly but you could tell they were rushed. I only saw one person even though it was a small line w
The best doughnuts in Philly! Extremely creative flavors and just as good, if not better than non-vegan doughnuts. The bagels and coffee are also delicious and make for a great morning stroll through washington square park and old city. Try the dunkaroo doughnut when available; it will make you feel like a kid again! Super excited for the new Wissahickon location; perfect reward after biking those Manayunk hills!
friendly service everything donuts should be. follow them on IG to know all their daily specials!
I got a cinnamon roll and an apple fritter- the cinnamon roll was painfully tasteless even with the glaze on top. I threw it away after 3 bites. The apple fritter was better but still over priced. When I visited at 10am there was almost zero selection left to choose from. Wish I could've tried one of their actual donuts.
So let me preface that the service was friendly, fast and everything you could ask for from a local provider of quick eats. But lets be honest... these are not american donuts. They are vegan deep fried pastries. They do not taste like real donuts made with eggs a d fillings/icings made with gelatin. The dough is chewy and dense and the custard style fillings are soupy. I appreciate you trying to fulfill the cravings of the snobby vegan population, but I will stick to my Federal Donuts and Krispy Kremes of
I wish I took pictures! But these donuts were delicious( we got cinnamon sugar and plain glazed) I also tried the cheesecake brownie which was sooo chocolaty and the cream cheese swirl on top complimented it so well.
Very good donuts. Rivals Dunwell in Brooklyn. A bit of a small selection but the cream in the cream filled donuts was very rich and indulgent and really made the donut special. Friendly staff. No where really to sit down and no restroom, other than that great place to grab a snack
I had the best vegan donut ever... only critique is that this shop is so hidden! I wish I knew about it sooner! Wonderful vegan pastries, wonderful staff, just... wonderful ?? get the chocolate hazelnut - you?re welcome
Super cute spot for vegan donuts! The donuts are fluffy and tasty! I really liked the vanilla glazed.
Fabulous all-vegan place for donuts, bagels, drinks, and more ?? A must if you?re visiting Philly!
Love Love LOVE that I found this place!! Vegan donuts yay!!!
Best donuts I've ever had! They carry all the classics like Boston cream, cinnamon sugar, glazed, jam-filled, donut holes, and cinnamon buns. Additionally, they always have unique creations like dunkaroos, pumpkin spice, "greased pole" (a tribute to Philly winning the superbowl), etc. There's something new every time!
Wow what a treat to find great vegan donuts!
Yummy vegan donuts and tasty coffee. Friendly staff and clean space.
Very minimalistic donut store although they have quite a collection of donut varieties. The ?? itself was just okay.
Excellent vegan donuts. They have new kinds everyday, the regular ones, new variations and a filled donut flavor. Staff is very friendly and it's always a pleasure to stop by.
I like it when the donuts taste like the flavors not just sugar, or when the Apple fritters are cooked all the way through. I find the staff at this location not as friendly as the other location. Also never had an issue with uncooked over in West Philly.
I personally prefer Beiler's Donuts in the Reading Terminal Market. I know people say it's touristy, but man, Beiler's Donuts are made with a different kind of batter that I just love. Dottie's is good but it doesn't really stand out unless you are vegan. We also got our donuts in a pizza box, which was a bit strange.
As we are only about 6 months into our WFPB journey, we have been wondering about our dessert options. Enter these delights. Thank you Dottie?s Donuts for making such delicious donuts ! Tasty and light- served by kind and smiling staff in a covid safe manner.
Bought 2 items. Cherry donut was pretty dry. Cinnamon bun was great. Service was ok. I definitely got the vibe that I could have been there or not and the cashier would not have cared. I probably will not return.
Love the varieties, however the apple fritter was great in size but few in apples, and due to its enormity the center was undercooked. The filled donuts needed more fillings. Looking forward to future flavors.
Vegans donuts with unique flavor/topping combinations. They have both the Dunkin-style airy ones, and the thick Duck Donuts cake-style ones.
You'd never be able to tell this donut was vegan if they didn't tell you. It was so light and fluffy. They have flavors they change out every day. They are a little pricey but it's with it for the quality of the donut that you receive!
Out of this world donut flavors Vegans and non-vegans will rejoice :) Just wish there was more room to sit and enjoy inside Kosher certified by Rabbi Hirsch (Mekor HaBracha, IKC)
