Customer Reviews

This is my first time visiting Donutchew. I was drawn to it being that I'm a donut fiend. I've had freshly made, delicious mochi donuts before, so this definitely didn't compare. However, I love the decoration, the customer service and the extensive menu, which is the reason for the 4 stars. I originally stopped by to eye the menu and plan my post-lunch coffee-time dessert. I let the barista know that I'll be returning but will order something simple. She suggested the cortado and I said yes immediately, a

This place is adorned with plush toys and colorful, cute items, making it a delightful spot to hang out, but not for everyone. The donuts here are unique, made with rice flour, resulting in a chewier texture. Furthermore, they have other colorful desserts, such as macarons and cakes, and these Asian-inspired desserts offer a range of uncommon flavors. The service is also commendable.

Finally had time to try what Donutchew had to offer...I selected 2 donuts including a chocolate donut and an cream cheese Oreo donut and I also had a Strawberry macaroon... All of those were delicious. The donuts had a nice texture and outstanding flavor. The strawberry macaron was so good it was unbelievable... The staff and manager were very nice. Apparently every donut macaroon are made in-house... That is very unique nowadays... It makes it worth the higher price for each donut..

Such a cool place! Fun and colorful atmosphere! There was even a Photo Booth! Service was good. We had 2 macarons- cr?me br?l?e and tiramisu. They both were out of this world! I also tried the earl grey tea donut and it was so flavorful! It is a bit pricey but the flavors were definitely worth it!

This place is fun to swing into. Sometimes the donuts aren?t the freshest tasting, but that?s probably based on the time of day. The drinks are always great!

If you like Mochi donuts, then the donuts are not bad. They don?t quite taste like regular donuts as it?s a mix of rice crispy and donuts which gives a weird taste. I personally didn?t like it. Ambiance is very nice. Service is also good at this location.

It was a great experience for people who are wanting to try mochi donuts I got strawberry milk ,earl gray, churro ,mango, fruity pebble and red velvet donuts and even though they?re cold and would be better warmed up the donuts were sweet fluffy and airy I can understand why not everyone would like these donuts since they are very different than regular donuts that you get here but it was a great experience and I also got the passion fruit tea with Boba and the boba were soft and chewy and the passion frui

I was craving donuts and my favorite go-to spot was already closed. Noticed there was a new donut shop that recently opened and decided to give it a try. The donut shop is located inside the Fair Oaks Mall (pretty hidden deep in a corner near H&M). Entered the store and was warmly greeted by the staff. Took a few minutes to look over the menu and decided to try 3 different types of donuts. They are shaped like flowers and look much different than your average donut - so I was curious to see what it tasted

Visited early February. Never been before. Tried the bubble teas and it was just alright. The donuts were fantastic though. Couldn't tell difference between these and Mochinut. Mochi donuts are just nice and chewy. Would definitely go again. Just beware going later in day as they do run out of flavors.

The interior of Donutchew is so cute! The donuts were really chewy and in a fun design where you can share with multiple friends. What I really enjoyed about the donuts was that it wasn?t so sweet. The drinks were also good. The interior felt cozy and has a little photo booth you can take with your friends!

Lots of mochi donuts popping up in NoVA! I first had these in hawaii too so was very eager to try them again. The shop is in fair oaks mall, so very convenient to visit while shopping. There are tons of flavors to choose from, but not every flavor is available every day as they rotate it out. They also have bubble tea and other drink options. The mochi donuts I got were overall delicious! A few too sweet but a few just right as well. Texture is great. I also tried the Taro bubble tea and wasn't the biggest

This mochi donut spot is located inside the Fair Oaks Mall, the shop is bright and clean with a lot of color and employees are friendly and helpful. They offer a wide variety of flavors and we got half a dozen different ones to try. Let me just say up front I?m very familiar with mochi donuts and a big fan in general - sadly these were not great representatives. They are much chewier than they should be, to the point where I would call them gummy in an unpleasant way. Flavors are also not very intense.

Stopped by for a quick bite and drink at donutchew after shopping at Fairoaks Mall and this place did not disappoint. First, all the workers were super sweet and kind. I also got my food and drink very fast! I got the brown sugar boba and it was the perfect refreshing drink, but my favorites were their strawberry croffle and glazed mochidonut. So delicious! Will definitely be coming back here to try new drinks and snacks. Also, they have a very cute photo booth for just $5.

Nice clean place to hang out with friends for a snack. The donuts were okay but the drinks were surprisingly really really good! The sweet level was perfect and not overpowering at all. We had fun at the photo booth also!

Honestly this is a good place to get mochi-donuts. If you don?t know what that is, they are a combination of soft and chewy that is hard to describe. If you?re curious go try them here, where they specialize in them. If you like them, great. If you don?t that?s perfectly understandable. I kinda get the vibe that they texturally aren?t for everyone and that?s OK. Just give em a try.

I tried my first-ever mochi donut from the Rio Donutchew location. Since I have no point of comparison to other mochi donuts, my review is mainly based on very subjective initial impression. I must say??Donutchew? is a rather odd name that isn?t exactly the most appetizing. The shop itself is very cozy. The owners have spent a lot on decor. It?s a good gathering spot for couples and friends with a cafe vibe. The menu is varied and includes coffee and other drinks, as well as a wide variety of mochi donut

I come here all the time to get bubble tea, coffee and the occasional donut and its always amazing! The donuts are the perfect chewy texture and there are so many different flavors of milk tea. I love the honeydew and pineapple ones the best. My only slight complaint is the coffee lattes have flavor shots and some are more on the artificial sweet end which I do not personally like. However, the caffeine level is strong and definitely a perfect pick me up so its still worth ordering. The ambience is so cute

Cute shop in the mall. People working there were nice. Donuts are a little pricey. Each flavor has a unique taste - some better than others.

I love the sugar brown tea but the milk tea was kinda bland but its still good

The best mochi donuts I have ever had! They were still warm from the oven and were perfect. Also got the mango cr?me and brown sugar drinks which paired well with the donuts. I will definitely be back!

Such a cute place! They have a photo booth as well. Their mochi donuts, macarons, and boba tea were so good! Definite must try!

Donut-chew,strawberry Milk Macha Tea and Bubble Tea so tasty,Mango Chew Donut very different amongst Donuts taste different soft and light and small Photo Both good touch

So glad this opened up at Fair Oaks- their coffee is amazing, which is nice ever since Starbucks closed down. Their mochi donuts are sweet, chewy, and fresh! I love the strawberry milk donut and their house milk tea ?

Wide variety of mochi donuts that were crispy on the outside and super soft and airy on the inside. Frosting flavors ranged from green tea, to ube, and even strawberry. Atmosphere was great, allowing you to really enjoy your donuts.

I came here with my daughter yesterday, it was our first time. The cashier recommended the Oreo donut, so that?s what we got. It was so good, I want to bring the rest of my family here for dessert soon. The donut was not dry at all, like most donuts are. I didn?t get a chance to try their tea or their ?croffle?, but next time I definitely will.

Me and my best friend tried the Brown Sugar Boba and the Chocolate Boba. The chocolate one was INCREDIBLE. The place was so cute and an adorable place to take pictures. The service people were so sweet too. I've been thinking about going back to this place NONSTOP!!

Came for the coffee, came back for the donuts.?? The mango mochi donut is the only ?mango-flavored? food I?ve had that actually tastes like a ripe mango! ??

I've never had donuts that taste soooooo GOOd!!! My goodness talk about some tasty heaven. They had lots of variety of dessert as well and bubble tea. I apologize for nonuploaded picture of the menu. But the DONUTS!!!! This place is a must try.

A very nicely decorated and clean shop. Go munch on those mochi donuts with the variety of flavors.

It was my first time there last week and I wasn't pleased with the food. I placed a order for a dozen donuts and within a minute my order was ready. I asked if the donuts were fresh and the worker confirmed it was fresh out of the oven. However, when I got to my car I decided to to eat one. It was partially soft on the outside but stale on the inside. Not sure if I will purchase again.

The mochi donuts were pretty tasty! I got ube, sesame, matcha, and Thai milk tea.

Love this amazing donuts and Macon cookies but it is expensive

Not as good as Mochi donut shops in the north/NYC area, too overly sweet and sugary, and has that American sweet taste that is artificial. The strawberry flavor was not good at all, rather than a strawberries and cr?me flavor I was expecting, it was like candied strawberry and way too sweet! I think this place is catering to the Americans/American kids palette which is a bit of a shame because American sweets are known to be too sweet and cakey tasting. The Oreo one also wasn?t good, the cr?me was too sugar

Great tasting donut. I loved the blueberry flavored one. It hit my satisfaction for creamy, chewy, bouncy, and acidic in the best fruity way possible. Loved every bite. Aesthetically pleasing too. & I loved the customer service with fast and efficient assistance. Great location in mall and good experience overall.

The Oreo doughnut was good but the mango one was terrible.

These are now my favorite donuts now?? Dough from which they are made melts in your mouth??donuts are not too sweet just perfect!??

What a cute little shop, with space to sit to enjoy a snack. Tried it for the first time tonight; my husband and I split several desserts to sample a variety. I really liked the regular glazed donut; my husband's favorite was the ube. The macarons were also great; the creme brulee one had a burnt sugar top that was perfect. Service was stellar; really friendly staff. I'll be back.

The donuts are delicious!! I love the fact that they are not very big/thick, so I?m assuming they are a lot less calories than a normal donut! I had the matcha one and it was just awesome!! I finished it and was all ready to eat more! I think they are so adorably cute too!

My friend gave us a box of mochi donuts. We love them! I especially love the coffee one. I enjoyed the chewy texture which is exactly what mochi is about. I don't know why people were giving this place low ratings because of the "chewy donut". It's called a mochi donut for a reason. I'm definitely buying more of this.

Went there for a coffee. Place seemed neat, we ordered a Vanilla Latte (cold) and a Mocha Latte (hot). They only offer one size and somehow the cold version of the drink is priced higher than the hot version. The Mocha Latte was on the mark, will give it 4 stars. The Vanilla Latte lacked any sugar whatsoever - 2 stars. Went back to the counter and asked why there was no sugar in my drink, I was told that the Vanilla already had sugar in it. I can assure you, it was just plain bitter sauce with milk and

Very very friendly staff and surprisingly prompt service. They were not able to make two drinks with each having enough boba, but they offered an alternative to the rest of the boba missing, very kind of them. I had the churro mochi donut alongside an oreo milk slush. 9 outta 10 food with 10 outta 10 staff.

suchhh good food and drinks, i got a hot chocolate and a red velvet macaron and i think its the best of either thing ive had

I ordered the iced matcha milk tea and it was pretty good, a little bit too sweet but still good. Also the churro donut is amazing! So soft, and good kind of chewy! No wonder why they call it Donutchew lol. And also the cashier was very nice to recommend a drink once I asked her, since I wasn?t sure what to get. But for sure the donuts are amazing!

I give them zero stars. One of the worse and most fake donut I?ve ever eaten. I ordered the Nutella chocolate donut. Did not taste like a donut nor the topping was of original Nutella. Absolutely tasteless, very cold and of very poor quality. Very cheap and highly sugary product. I threw it after taking a bit. Icing taste like some Chinese fake chocolate. Also the hole between the donut is so huge so they can make more profit out of it!!!!

I enjoy trying new things. I was very disappointed. The guy at the register acted like he didn't even understand what he was selling? I ordered an oreo slushy that was watered down, not sure if they forgot to add the syrup. I asked them remake to add syrup and it tasted the same like water. I ordered a strawberry donut that was overcooked. The pictures look great, but it was not the best experience.

Macaron and croffles are soooooooooooooo good?? Staffs are kind, handsome and pretty?? I want to visit again??

Great customer service and friendly staff! The mochi donuts are so delicious - we got the black sesame. Milk tea was great too. Will definitely recommend this place to family and friends. And will return for sure soon!

Tasty chewy donuts! We ordered half a dozen and they were ready just in a couple of minutes. We really liked the coffee and matcha kinds. Friendly staff and super cute place!

The Croffle was cold but tasty but the level of cold made it unpleasant. The donuts are also cold and the topping flavors taste artificial. The only one I recommend is the plain iced and maybe a drink.

First time to Donutchew. Will not be going back. Ordered a half-dozen donuts. They definitely were not the best mochi donuts I?ve eaten. The taste was off as if the oil they used to fried them was too old.

They are well worth the price! So fluffy and tasty with lots of flavors to pick!

Drinks and food were good, pretty unique menu and the interior is nice and clean. Service was mediocre however, gave us pineapple instead of the strawberry we ordered, even though it was clearly yellow and we tasted pineapple, the employees told us it was strawberry.

I don't know about this place. Display is weird and donuts are overpriced.

I normally don?t leave any reviews, but this is by far, the worst please I have ever been. Let?s start with their food and drinks and how bad they taste, I been trying their menu since they open, thinking that some places have bad things and good things but this one, there?s NOTHING I can save from them. But let?s leave the bad quality they have. The people they have working there, specially one, not remember his name but kinda long hair with glasses, I was asking him what the drinks was, and he was being s

It's a great place to go to for dessert and the coffee is also delicious. I want to go there again.

Very tasty. I got the Oreo cream cheese donut, blueberry and fruity pebble?s. Super good. Also tried the cr?me br?l?e macaroon also really good.

Great customer service! A few mistakes were made with my order but overall, they did the best at fixing their errors, everything tastes amazing, and they are extremely helpful and friendly, will come again and I recommend to anyone looking for a new boba spot! ??

I love the atmosphere, the occasional kpop references, THE MOCHI DONUTS ARE AMAZING ?? and Junsung (main cashier) is always so kind. I buy drinks there at least 4x a week ??

I love the food and the photo machine!! I go here every time I visit fair oaks mall with my friends. I absolutely love the taste of the chewy donuts

The staff are incredibly nice, the macarons are amazing and the donuts are ?the best donuts I?ve ever had? according to my mom!

The mochi donuts are great when they have them

Exceeded my expectations of a mochi donut! I loved the coffee and yogurt flavor. Would definitely get again

Great donuts, great drinks, and super sweet and friendly staff! :)

This place is charging me for a bottle of water and giving me a cup of tap water. This is rediculous! You should let me know if you will be charging me for a cup of water!! It's not about money, it's about customer service!! Really horrible customer service!! If you did not have the bottle water, then you should refund the money and give a cup of water!! It's awful that you charge me for a bottle of water and offer me a cup of water!!

It?s a very aesthetically cute place with good boba and yummy croffles, I highly recommend trying it. It even had a cute little Photo Booth inside for only $5.

A month ago, croffles were fresh and so yum. Today, it?s not. It tastes like it?s stored in fridge for a couple of days.

Great drinks and great donuts! But they never have rose yakult that i really want to try haha!

Delicious mochi donuts and great customer service. The iced coffee here is good too.

donuts were so good they were sold out! our 2 yr old loved the banana donut!

Doughnuts were very delicious, I really enjoyed the drinks and the friendly service.

Good coffee (ordered a cortado) and my first time trying donut chew.

They added way too many ice cubes to my milk tea. Paying $7 per cup and more than half of the cup is ice.

Mochi donuts are pretty good but boba tea is just average.

Nice donuts. They can be a bit sugary.

Mochi #mochi #doughnuts #donuts , #yum ! ????

Delicious coffee donut and a hot latte. I'm definitely going back.

It?s such a good place to hang out with friends especially with the photo booth and the donuts and tea are delicious!!!

Stood at the front of the line for about 5 minutes and nobody came over to take our order. We left empty handed.

Great service and even better donuts! Highly recommended. A+

great and comfortable place to bring family and friends ?? donuts were amazing

If you?re at the Cheesecake Factory, go down the escalator and it will be on the right, across from H&M

Too pricey for the taste. Duck donuts far better.

The people are very nice and the donuts are very good

Coffee Macarons are very good.

Very nice place to hang out friends

A bit pricey but good
