Donut Taco Palace II

I needed breakfast tacos for a kiddos birthday party and they were able to accommodate a quick turn around for 100+ tacos and 50 donuts. The staff was very nice in taking our order and also helped carry out all of the food we ordered to the car. This is our new go to taco spot

Friendly staff very welcoming. Competitively prices. Went to 4 different small donut places this morning(day after Christmas) and this was the only one open. Donuts didn't look all that appetizing(specifically the frosting) but haven't tried any yet so the jury's still out on quality hence 4 not 5 stars. I may and or may not try one. If I do, I'll update as per the results. Update: donuts were subpar, and staff increased tip without my permission. Will never return here.

I?ve always been a big supporter of local businesses, and I love the location up north?such a wonderful family-owned spot! However, my experience at this particular location has been disappointing. The service has been far from what I expect, particularly with the cashier, and it seems like the business isn?t addressing the issue. It?s a shame because the north location is a complete 180 and a true delight. I hope the management takes this feedback into consideration for the future.

This place is great and hidden. Breakfast tacos for under $2. And they are fully loaded. The ladies at the counter are very nice and fast. They also have doughnuts and coffee. If you are in a hurry and want something that is fast, cheap AND good, this is the place. It?s a small place so dining in is probably ok, but to go is best.

She offered me two donuts when I paid only for one because one might not be up to normal standards. Fast service. A lot of people in and out.

I come to this location fairly frequently and always have the same issue with the cashier lady, she?s rude to you as soon as you walk in, rolling her eyes, sighing, and having just a rude tone with you overall. Just the other day she slammed my debit card on the counter and rolled her eyes for a simple mistake on her end, because she ringed up one chocolate milks when I had two. I love the food overall but she needs to be replaced quickly before she gets the wrong customer.

You want donuts? Tacos? And meat kolaches? DTP2 has you covered. The breakfast tacos are sinful and they're a buck fifty. This place is hardly a palace but in my mind it's the Taj Mahal, I visit here every other weekend and will continue to do so for the rest of my days.

This is nice little place to get some breakfast. I ordered 2 donuts, 2 tacos, milk, and a coffee for me and my fiance. The staff is friendly, and the service was quick. They do not have concha?s or empanadas, but they do have a good variety of donuts. They have a little section to dine in and a restroom if needed.

I love this place. Food is amazing. Service is quick. It's clean. Get the Chorizo and Egg tacos! Minor gripe not worth deducting points: I wish they'd fix their debit card reader so they can bring it to the counter. I forget my wallet sometimes and in order to use tap to pay they have to physically take my phone from me. It's anxiety inducing.

Went in and was told that because the donuts were smaller they are two for one. Not only did we get charged full price for a dozen donuts but we only got ten donuts when according to the person serving is we should've gotten twenty four. I'll never come back or refer anyone to this place

Basically everything is amazing. Only thing that?s off is the potato?s in the breakfast tacos. They?re always under cooked. And the chorizo seems to be just flavoring there was zero actual chorizo. But every donut croissant sandwich and kolache are incredible.

Went there this morning to try something other than shipley?s donuts and the lady was nice said everything is fresh and tacos are delish HOWEVER- it doesn?t taste fresh. A fresh donut is soft and melts in your mouth these were breadish and chewy like yesterdays donuts. I tried the cinnamon rolls same- the tacos were not yummy they taste like a bad attempt at making a breakfast taco. The tortillas look white and soggy. Atmosphere: Typical walk-up doughnut counter, but with breakfast tacos as well. Service: On the slow side today at 11:00. Food: Not terrible, but not very good. Out of the 7 we purchased only the iced cake was good. It was fresh, moist with good flavor. Pricing: very reasonable

This is a nice little local donut and taco shop. The prices aren't terrible, Sometimes there is a line in the mornings, but it usually moves pretty quickly. The large variety of donuts they have are tasty, The same goes for their kolaches, breakfast tacos and breakfast sandwiches.

Great blueberry cake donuts, and the coffee is good too, but my favorite item I have tried here is the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich. The sandwich is a very good size for the price, and it tastes great.

This morning there was a lady obnoxiously yelling at customers to repeat back their order. It was unnecessary. She says thank you and that she appreciates your business, but when it?s being yelled at you it doesn?t feel genuine. It was uncomfortable. At 7a it was not the experience I wanted or have had in the past when I?ve visited this location.

I normally have a wonderful experience here. However, today I went in for some tacos and the woman up front (who I?ve never seen before) was very very rude. Practically rolling her eyes at the fact that I walked in. She was very dismissive and rude to us when ordering. I won?t return to this location with her being at the cash register.

Donut Taco Palace has a special place in our hearts. LOL. Great breakfast tacos and salsa and delicious donuts that stay good the next day if you have leftovers. Ate from here a lot when our daughter was a newborn and they just catered her third birthday party!

These are the best breakfast tacos around! Huge menu with every kind of taco you could desire to kick off your day, and the woman behind the counter are always friendly and provide service with a smile. Best yet, they cost only $1.50 each!! While you are there, you can even pick up some of the tastiest donuts around.

Definitely stay away from this place I'm not sure which is worse the staff the food or the customer service. The donuts are day old and so are the eggs. Half the time you don't get what you ask for and when telling staff that they act like a monster and tell you that's not what they are hearing. Used to be really good. Now, the chocolate frosting has a weird, almost onion, flavor. I?ve called them and let them know, but here we are, second weekend in a month, with a nasty chocolate-onion donut. Yuck. Guess we will find a different place. The kolaches are still fine at least.

I can tell you the ppl who have written reviews about the service are the type of ppl who want to ask a million questions as if they?ve never ordered tacos before and hold up the line. The staff is NOT rude and if you are clear with what you want to order your order WILL BE correct. The donuts here used to be AMAZING. They even had middle finger donuts. (Yes, glazed donuts shaped like a middle finger) Now the donuts are just average. Their glazed are still great but their variety of donuts has dwindled down to basically glazed, sprinkle donuts, and a few other choices. Now, having said that, their breakfast tacos are still EXCELLENT. Especially their mexican style taco!

The WORST customer service in Austin! I've been working the service industry in Austin for over 5 years, and I have never seen such a lack of care or concern for the customer experience. Even though the restaurant closes at 1, there's a big sign on the wall "Kitchen closes at 12:30". No big deal ? except the kitchen almost always closes before noon. Worst service ever!!! The cashier did not have her mask on all the way. She kept complaining how she can?t get anything done, that customers keep bothering her. That she can?t get a break because people keep coming in, just all around rude. I told her that I was going to get six donuts and she act like that was a big deal through the bag on the counter got a box and was just all around trying to make me hurry.

Almost never have my favorite: cinnamon-sugar cake donuts. But, they def make one of the best light, mouthwatering, regular glazed donuts around here. And they have a wide selection of eggy-meaty type breakfast foods (on a tortilla, on a croissant, in a roll, etc) that are pretty good, not as good as the donuts, but they tasty.

These were honestly some of the worst donuts I have ever had the displeasure of consuming. They were spongey and gross. Not sweet at all. Tasted like a donut and a twinkie had a baby but it turned out all wrong. The service was good though. She was very nice. But these donuts are disgusting.

Love this place, i know this is called donut palace but the tacos and kolachies are always fresh and more importantly delicious and the main reason I go. Got there just before closing. My daughter and I couldn't decide what we wanted so we let the guy behind us go. He got several items for free I guess because it was the end of the day and they knew each other. He insisted on paying but they refused his money. When we went to check out they charged us LOL WOW. I love tacos and they gave me tacos at a good price. A lot of places just put a in there Taco plain and simple but they took the time to season it possibly with salt and pepper or cookie in some bacon grease was very delicious.

Don't come eat here unless it's the last choice. Tortillas were wet and soggy, cheese kolaches had no cheese in them, the kolaches had holes in them because when they were made, there wasn't enough dough to wrap around them. And the tiny kolaches.... they use a sausage the size of a pinky lol

The staff appears nice enough and the food is great. However, it appears to be poorly managed. They post their hours as 5am-1pm. In the 10 times I attempted to drop in at 5am. They have only been open once and even then they opened the doors about 10 mins after 5 and they did not have much of anything prepared. I love this place. Cheap delicious donuts and kolaches. I am told that the kolaches don't have as much cheese as shipleys, but the donuts here are much cheaper. Plus you have breakfast tacos that are packed full. Who doesn't love breakfast tacos?

I come here all the time and food is good and the same girl is usually there. Today sadly will be my last time. There was a second girl in there today that was rude and told me I couldn't bring my service animal in. Disrespectful to those who served this country and still feel the effects.

Went to this donut shop a few times. The first time I got a donut and it tasted like a nail salon. I thought maybe it was a fluke and went back a second time and got a donut that tasted perfectly fine and another that yet again tasted like a nail salon. It?s a hit or miss.

Open 0500 to 1300 this place has so many breakfast tacos to choose from and are made fresh. I had 2 and was stuffed. Not to mention there donuts smelled and looked in house made. I will be going back.

Y?all don?t sleep on this excellent spot for breakfast tacos. Get the barbacoa and carne guisada for sure. Barbacoa is so flavorful and the texture is perfect! That carne guisada is divine!

Anthony Martello, I have a question for you! If you actually look around there is no sign that says they close the kitchen at 12:30, plus it's their store and you don't know how busy they get. People get tired and as for AGAIN being their store, they can close down the kitchen when they please. I never knew that I had a sprirital homeland until I found this place. TDPII changed me. I was visiting Austin and didn?t know what barbacoa was. I ordered it because it seemed fun to say. I didn?t know my life was about to be ruined by this delicious meal. I had to go back to the barbacoa-less wasteland of my hometown. I long to return to Austin and visit TDP again. I?m going back to the city in April and this is one of the first things on my itinerary.

Donuts here are a hit or miss. It may taste good or it may taste like a nail salon. Not sure how they get the nail salon taste in but they succeeded.

Kitchen closes at 1230 in case you're cruising around looking for breakfast tacos. If you don't eat pork becareful, they may switch ur bean witb bacon

Horrible experience. I will never go here again. They didn?t put in part of order in my bag and when I called he wouldn?t refund my credit card. Then he said it was ?my problem?. That was the owner too. Never getting my business again.

Any taco with potatoes, you get less than a teaspoon of potatoes in the taco, its just all eggs. When you order multiple items, the counter help never offers a larger bag to carry multiple items in, you ALWAYS have to ask.

I usually stop 3 or 4 times a week to grab a fresh donut...or a breakfast taco...food is always fresh and employees are awesome..I work at jiffy lube across the parking lot...this place is a awesome !!!!
