Customer Reviews

This place was a 10/10. We got the glazed donuts, cinnamon roll and bean and potato taco. The taco has to be made but she made it so fast it was ready in no time. The taco was flavorful but the salsa was top tier. The best donuts I?ve had in a while. My son loved the cinnamon which tasty by for me too bready. On top of it all this place has great service and for me that?s important, I don?t like being served food from people with bad vibes. Now this place does have a long line on the weekend but it goes by

This place has the best name ever. Walked over when I was having new tires put on nearby and grabbed some breakfast tacos, donuts and donut holes. All super solid. Homemade salsa red and green came with the tacos and it was so good I bought a mason jar of it they sold to go.

I love donut taco palace! It is on my way to work and I love stopping to get a biscuit breakfast sandwich. The biscuit is ?? perfect. The breakfast tacos are also delicious. On top of that, one day I ran out of gas in front of DTP on my way to work. The owner came out of the shop to help me, and took it upon himself to go get me a couple of gallons of gas, and put it in my car for me. It was a great act of kindness from a stranger. I wasn't even late for work. Like I said, everyone is always super fr

Hands down the best traditional donuts in Austin. It?s our go-to every weekend we treat ourselves! The color frosting with sprinkles donuts are always festive to match holidays and seasons - and looks as pretty as they taste. The breakfast tacos are absolutely delicious too, the red salsa is definitely something to write home about! YUM!

Friendly, delicious and fun experience. In from out of town for three days and went twice-yummy! The second day we found more donut options earlier in the day. We enjoyed the kolaches and donuts, and we tried the tacos down the street the final day at Madrone Coffee - a fun surprise.

Ordering 3 tacos and a dozen doughnut holes has never been harder. This place used to be good, it's decent by accident now. Skip doughnuts and make your own tacos!

Had their donuts ?? before, always yummy, decided to try their tacos. Omg so goooood !! Love that you can order pay online, so convenient

Went in a while back and got a croissant breakfast sandwich. After I sat down I went up and asked for the tiny salsas they give with tacos and an older lady, who I assume is the owner, refused to give it to me. Wow. If I did that at my restaurant I would be fired. That tiny salsa cup was more important to her than my repeat business which to me is just a headscratcher. I live across the street and go frequently. Not anymore.

So many options. The breakfast tacos were very good. Loved the salsa. Living in Europe I have so missed a classic glazed donut. They nailed it. Just what I needed. Endless other breakfast options. Counter staff was very pleasant and patient as we made our selections. Coffee is average. Overall value in pricing as well.

If you?re looking for the best customer service and the best donuts in Austin I highly recommend coming here. I wish I could rate It higher than 5 stars. When you come here ask for Angel.. she?s the best and will take care of you! The donuts are my favorite!

I've been coming here since 2011 and by all means best breakfast tacos and donuts in Austin ive been here all my life and finally found good tacos and donuts, especially the raspberry filled donut holes are my favorite.

So good! We were visiting from out of town, and saw this place online. Just had to try it out. The name itself sold us. We walked in and were surprised! The place had a cool feel to it, and was rather popular by how many people were stopping in. They were moving along pretty quickly and getting people their orders at a fast pace. The food tasted amazing. We had the tacos - and would have them again! Will definitely go back the next time in Austin.

Food is always good, hot and fresh but sometimes they take too long or forget some orders but only because it gets so busy and packed fast. Always a good place for breakfast.

I love small business owners! The Owner Fred happen to be driving by and saw me having trouble getting into the parking lot with the truck and trailer. Followed me next door and Offered to show me a place to park that was convenient to visit his establishment. I say again, I love small business owners, especially ones like that who care. Went into spend $6 and spent 40 instead! Best 40 bucks I?ve spent! Thank you, Fred. Much appreciated and we will be back.!! ??????????

The prices have been removed from the menu. Can you guess why? $3.49 for a single filled doughnut. Who knows how much everything else is. EDIT: The owner has replied and claims that calling her out for not posting prices is "bullying". She also then admits that she charged me more than other customers. That's the problem with not posting prices, you get crazy games like this. I changed my review from 3 stars to one star and will never go back.

It's always a pleasure getting donuts or tacos here. They are always friendly. Get there early for the best selection as this place is very popular and runs out. I'm glad I came here today as they had some cute New Yeas donuts.

I come here all the time and I grab food and coffee and then sit inside to try and get some school work done. But every time I do that all the employees just keep staring at me and keep walking past me very closely. It's very uncomfortable like they don't want me in there. And I always spend money there and I'm always polite. UPDATE..... I GOT TWO BURNT GLAZE TWIST. I always get glazed twist, and they never look this dark.! Update. i posted a review about me picking up food for my co-worker.

In my order of assorted dozen donuts that I bought to share with my coworkers, my coworker found a long wire Bristle from a scrub pad (steel wool) in her glazed donuts. Yeah thanks for the refund but it is still unacceptable and Neglection on your part. The only good that came from visiting your establishment was that no one was hurt. Especially the mom with two young sons that were in line, in front of me. Literally my first time visiting and most likely the last Yall should make a thumbs down donut

I love the Shinyribs song about this place. Since it was my first time in Austin area we couldn?t NOT come here! The staff was super kind, they move people through their morning rush super fast. The donuts were SO GOOD. I wanted to try all of them. The breakfast tacos and their homemade salsa were the perfect pair with our donuts! Thanks Donut Taco Palace! We loved our visit! I?d give you 6 stars if I could.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The incredible food has kept me a regular customer for over 3 years now but the extremely friendly staff is what makes me a super fan. They truly brighten my mornings. The green salsa is a must try.

Very good donuts and kolaches. The fruit kolaches are good sizes. The cinnamon roll sandwich is sweet meeting savory. O...try the custard filled donut holes, heavenly!! They have online ordering for scheduled pickup, which makes things very simple and efficient

Very delicious donuts and kolaches. The tacos are also a good price.

This is our goto place for breakfast tacos and donuts. Always fresh tacos and donuts. Tacos are good sized with good quantity filling. Donuts are super moist. Our kids love the tacos n donuts from this place as well. Always a hit!

I love their breakfast tacos and sweet kolaches. Hands down the best red salsa. I love the red salsa so much, I buy it by the jar. On work and school days, this place gets busy. Be patient because it's worth the wait. And the service is fast, as long as the customer doesn't cause a delay. The food is fresh, and the customer service is outstanding!

I had been going here for coffee and breakfast daily. Yesterday there was mold on the kolache. I took pictures and threw it out. Hey, it happens. Then I showed the associate today who was very kind and understanding. But then the OWNER stood there and argued with me telling me oh well I should have kept it and brought it back for her to see with her eyes and it?s not mold. It?s black and fuzzy. It?s mold. And raised her voice at me. Check your food and look out for the attitude filled Filipino woman. I myse

Ordered four donuts. Of those four they gave me two wrong flavors, and ones of the other 2 was put in a bag on its own, with no tissue paper or anything, and ended up losing 80% of its icing stuck to the bag.

Fresh tacos and even fresher donuts. The selection is pretty large and they always have enough of what I am craving. The staff is extremely friendly and the line moves pretty quickly on a Saturday morning. Stop on in, even the logo is cool! We got free stickers too!

I am a regular at this place since I do doordash and also a customer. I know most of the workers there. I joke around with a guy name Andres Zapata that works in the front about soccer. We had a disagreement about something personal and I told him to not to talk to me again,to talk to me about work. Yesterday I went to pick up an order for DoorDash and Andres started to scream at me in front of customers about a comment that I made to his coworker about his soccer team He was really rude about it and told t

I go here every morning almost and get breakfast taco ?? love it

What a great place to get Donuts! We go here occasionally with the kids and always have a great experience. Recently my own business had a morning event and I had Donut Taco Palace supply donuts and tacos. Super easy to set up and have delivered.

Be very careful ordering tacos under the heat lamp. It?s a breeding ground for food poisoning. Just recently bought three tacos that were under the heat lamp they were about to close. That night I became very sick. It has lasted days now. The only thing I ate differently than my wife all weekend pretty much all week. They told me they keep it under the lamp set very high in temp, which is a bad no-no, that increases the rate of pathogen growth by doubling or tripling in a short time. Have them make your

Absolutely fantastic experience at this donut shop! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the delightful aroma of freshly baked donuts. The variety of flavors blew my mind ? from classic glazed to unique gourmet options, they had it all. Each donut was a masterpiece, boasting a perfect balance of flavors and a satisfying texture. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure my visit was enjoyable. The cozy atmosphere and charming decor added to the overall experience. I can?t wait to return a

I'm just so happy I found this place. Somewhere that has both donuts AND authentic tacos... ??????

I?ve lived in Austin for over 20 years and I?ve been to the other location many many times but somehow I?ve never visited this one. The bacon egg and cheese breakfast tacos are still my favorite in the whole city and I love their salsas was very friendly and service was real fast.

Just moved to Austin and live not far, I did an order here last week it's so good I've ordered two more times in a week. Their breakfast tacos are some of the best I've ever had, they are filled fat too, not skimpy. Good quality bacon and the salsa is delicious. I also get their donuts which are great, apple fritter is my favorite so far. It's not pricey either they have awesome prices. Definitely recommend this place.

Opens very early so you can get your favorites and still arrive to work on time. Tons of doughnut and great breakfast taco options! Easy access off of freeway and easy to order online for pickup.

Delicious food, friendly and helpful staff. 10/10!

Good tacos. Check to make sure the green sauce lid is on good. Last few times it has spilled in the bag because they didn't put the lid on correctly. Also, check tortilla they burn them sometimes. I hate that. But overall great prices and tacos are full. I try and go here at least twice a week. My wife loves their doughnuts. Recommend ??

This place has great donuts my son loves. The breakfast tacos are pretty solid too. It's mostly a to-go place located in an old warehouse building but they do a ton of business.

Awesome food. Awesome service! Great prices!

I ordered a croissant sandwich for breakfast because the taco that I wanted for breakfast was no longer available. It was not pleasing to see the croissant placed in the microwave in front of me instead of a toaster to be warmed.

As travelers (from Tampa) and donut lovers, we like to sample them in the cities and countries we visit. I wanted to try a Texas kolache, too. The small sausage, cheese and jalapeno kalache was wrapped in a donut-like dough. It was soft and not too filling so I could try some donuts. My husband had a croissant breakfast sandwich and enjoyed it (he's typically critical of food). We both VERY much enjoyed the apple fritter! Too often they're too bready and dry (with no apples). The Donut Taco Palace's

Sadly I did have a hair in one of my breakfast tacos. The other food was good and overall I think it was probably just a mistake. But the mistake was enough for me to never go back.

Used to go here all the time when I worked in town & loved it! Went recently on a early Sat morning & they're still rocking it! Long line but the wait wasn't that bad. Surprised that the costs were still very reasonable! My favorite Sauage Egg & Cheese Biscuit is still there & better than ever - the large homemade scratch biscuit is the best part!

The reply was even worse than the experience. I love that you're negating the fact that the customer service was bad. You're trying to fault me for never leaving a positive review and only because I pointed out a negative experience? I didn't order chocolate donut holes or get any in my order so I'm confused by what you're speaking of. I'm fully aware of what a cake donut is- I've had them...many times. On this particular day your cake donut holes were bad, maybe overcooked? Maybe positive customer service

Owner is great nice enough to give me double the amount of donuts I ordered on App Too good to go. First time visit will go back

This is my go to for breakfast tacos in the morning. They have every combination you could imagine, I love their salsa (you can purchase cans to take home if you want), and I find them to be way more filling than most other breakfast tacos. Donut Taco Palace is one of the few spots open early morning (5am), so as an early riser I love that I can always count on them. They have an excellent selection of pastries as well.

Super friendly staff who seem to know everyone who walk in and a great selection of donuts, breakfast tacos, and breakfast sandwiches

Always very attentive and kind people behind the counter. Tacos are great ??

Drove 30 min for them for them to cancel my order in front of me. She lied in the app and said they didn?t have any food whenever they clearly just opened and had it completely stocked. I decided to at least buy an item because maybe their products were better than the service? nope the food matched the service. The overpiced kolache was filled with a bar-s hotdog and overall bland. Tbh worst donut/kolache establishment I?ve visited in all of Texas.

I take my 4 children here every weekend. This place has honestly become very special to my family. They know us by name, it?s family owned, they are sweet and extremely kind. Their food and doughnuts are incredible as well. I can say I truly love this place.

Have been coming here for 20 years, so our kids grew up eating here. Breakfast tacos are good-sized. The red and green salsas are just right. The filled donut holes are like little hugs for your mouth.

Finally got here when it wasn?t too busy to try their breakfast tacos and they were big, yummy, hot, and not too expensive. I don?t eat pastries much so I can?t rate the doughnuts those but they do look good. This type of little family run spot is what makes Austin great.

I HATE THIS STORE. They have almost no donut options. And don?t tell me that different shapes or colors count as different flavors. And they only have black coffee. Make a latte or something like that. There is like 2 People who drink it black. And also they donuts are not even that good. I hope I never eat from here again

Clean you can get food early here showed up at 5:30. They were ready to serve. Hungry coworkers hungry ! Everyone needs to donate Monday morning

Nice service, good assortment of donuts for a decent price

Oh my lord this place is heaven on earth. Early to open and the delicacies are always fresh. Whether you are hankering for a donut, kolache, taco, or egg biscuit it?s all good. Heck try them all.

Found this place when looking for what?s open early on a Sunday near the AC hotel. We ordered a bit of everything donuts, tacos and croissants. All of them great, made with care. Kinda busy at 8:00 am with all kinds of clientele. Will be back again next time we are in town. Thanks Donut Taco Place.

These donuts are the bomb!!! The glaze and blueberry donut holes are very very good. The chocolate and chocolate sprinkle are okay but they have a funky aftertaste. I will note I feel it is incredibly expensive. I got half a dozen of donuts, 4 regular sausage kolaches, blueberry donut holes and it was $31? That just seems really high to me for donuts but they?re good for an occasional treat!

Donuts are pretty great, tacos are lacking and over priced for what you get. The bacon egg and cheese was too greasy and had a bad taste, the bean and cheese are a joke for the price too small of a portion. Crossaints arrived cold and needed to be reheated and the eggs had the same bad taste as the tacos.

10/10 friendly service but most importantly the food is amazing! Love ordering the tacos with cheese! The green salsa is amazing. Love how they?re Covid compliant. I see them Sanitize regularly . Very nice people. I wish they had a location I. Houston. Hopefully one day!

This is our go to stop when we visit fam in ATX Great theme song: https://youtu.be/KUY8gzJV3bo?si=w5EKS2xt_0xe6Bp1 ?This place should change its name to Slap Palace and sponsor the slap fighting championships because it SLAPS your tastebuds with flavor.??Donut Taco Palace even has its own song on YouTube for crying out loud! They are consistently excellent.??The barbacoa, carne guisada, kolaches, the traditional breakfast tacos and the donuts, oh my the donuts.??The Bavarian Cream long John?s, the fille

Our office took on a mission to taste every donut in Austin. Donut Taco Palace I is the hands down winner. I love the croissant sandwiches and the maple bacon donut but honestly I'll eat anything.

Disappointing. Donuts were more tough than light and airy?maybe stale at 8 am. They lacked the flavor of a good slow fermented dough. The pink glazed one was just sugar with no strawberry flavor. The tacos were nothing special. They didn?t warm the sausage and cheese kolache, which was just congealed and gross. I really don?t understand why the place was so crowded.

The breakfast tacos are delicious, I love love their doughnuts especially the chocolate one. The chocolate to me reminds me of when I grew up in El Paso and had them there. The Carmel with bacon doughnut it?s very delicious. We will be back every other weekend. The staff there and the owner are very nice and amazing.

This is my favorite donut place in Austin. The donuts remind me of Chicago. Their breakfast tacos will make you want to go back for more.

Their barbacoa, egg, and cheese tacos are some of the best in the city if not state! Same with their apple fritters.... SOO GOOD!

My family goes here sometimes because it?s very close to our home but after my experience today I had to reflect on my previous experiences and ultimately decide to never go back. The employees are consistently rude, the ordering is completely disorganized, and the tables are messy. I can?t think of one time the lady behind the counter has smiled or acted pleased to have me as a customer. They have zero customer service skills. I feel resented for ordering something that?s not already prepared. No signs on

When a restaurant does not advertise their prices on their in-store menu, that is always a red flag for me. I ended up paying $16+ for two kolaches, 3 donuts, and a canned coffee. I usually go to donut shops for a cheap breakfast, but this was not the case. I understand that in this economy, restaurants are having to raise prices -- they just need to be transparent about it. We, too, are tightening our belts. This place has servicable donuts and kolaches; didn't try the tacos. I could have gotten a real b

I had seen this place many of times before but with a title like Donut Taco Palace I wasn't too compelled to go in that was a mistake! They do sell tacos and they do sell Donuts as well as a variety of other things like kolaches and a pepperoni croissant I mean the menu is varied and honestly everything I tried was delicious they were not overpriced the staff was friendly although a little crowded the patrons were happy to be in the mere presence of jelly filled donut holes it's a small out of the way place

I love love LOVE the blueberry donuts! The original blueberry cake was very light and fluffy with a thin sweet glazed. The blueberry iced was amazing! It was the first time I've ever seen a blueberry glazed donut. It's just a regular donut with a blueberry icing on top. I also tried the potato, egg, and cheese taco, Mexican style taco, and the pastor taco. All pretty solid and affordable. Two donuts, two breakfast tacos, one meat taco, and a coffee came out to about $10. I went around 10am on a Sunday morn

I come for the kolaches and I?m never disappointed. Good size, good filling to bread ratio, tasty ingredients, and reasonably lot priced. Not sure how the rest of the food is, but I?m sure I?ll try a donut taco and one of the stuffed croissant things at some point.

I love this place.the donuts are good and the kolaches are good but they make killer breakfast tacos! They keep them hot and ready to go first thing in the morning but if you want one made to order they are happy to make one with any ingredients you choose! So when you bite into them you taste nothing but piping hot freshness and fresh ingredients

the breakfast tacos were so delectable!! stuffed & definitely worth the $$ ??

This place is really clean, which is really a good achievement for donut and taco places. A Large selection of donuts, pastries, kolaches, breakfast tacos, and drinks made to order - what more could you want on a lazy morning? All the times I have had breakfast here, my tacos were good and warm. The salsa they give with the breakfast taco is really good, so make sure you get some. Too bad the place closes so soon.

Decent donut selection, breakfast tacos are great, but they sell out early. The chocolate cover items taste like garlic, so go for glazed donuts instead. Friendly staff, but they tend to bully their way through the line to help get people out quickly in the AM.

You always want to go to places that have a number in the name. Donut Taco Palace 1 is no exception. The lines are often long, but fast moving, and well worth it. My bacon egg and cheese croissant was delicious(it didn't even make it home, and I was walking.......) When I did make it though, I was greeted by the sweet softness of the cinnamon sugar donut holes. Then promptly lulled into a mid morning nap by the spicy Sausage jalapeno and cheese kolache..... When I wake up, ill have my blue berry cake donut

Delicious, affordable, fast, & easy for breakfast! I recommend the huge croissant breakfast sandwiches, old fashioned maple donuts, & chunky apple fritters. The donut sandwich is worth a try too! Expect long lines early in the morning. Ordering online helps.

Don't recommend ordering online order was supposed to be ready at 10:03 didn't leave the parking lot until 10:38. Instead of working on our orders that they already took our hard earned money from us then they worked on every order that came in as if they were priority over us. Food was cold and the donut was smooshed in a bag with another one. Got chocolate icing all over my lemon donut. Couldn't even get someone's attention to ask when the order would be ready. Can't recommend this place to you unless I h

The donuts are good but I would not recommend the tacos or croissants. The wrapping was full of grease. The croissants fell apart because of the heavy grease. One grab of the taco and your fingers felt like they were dipped in oil. They use chopped ham for the croissants! I wasn't expecting great food but I wasn't expecting it to be so bad.

The tacos are huge and the chorizo and egg was the best I've had in years. My picky husband said the kolaches were very good and my kids liked the donuts. Although in fairness the kids would like any donuts so that's not really a good assessment. I will say though the donuts did look very good and they have a huge selection. They even have filled donut holes, I've never even seen that before. I'll definitely be trying those when I go again which I will likely do again and again.

Love this place, absolutely recommend! Great fresh donuts and delicious breakfast sandwiches. All employees were following COVID guidelines, wearing masks, and enforcing social distancing. If you?re itching to escape your home office for a morning treat, this is the place to do it. Support your local businesses and check them out.

Absolutely LOVE this place. Their custom birthday donuts are wonderful! They have wonderful quality customer service. Angel got back to me after business hours just to secure my order. I will absolutely be a returning customer. Donuts are so delicious. Thank you so much ladies!??????

It doesn't look like much on the outside, but Donut Taco Palace is a local gem. It's well loved, with wonderful donuts, tacos, kolaches, and croissant sandwiches and rolls. The inside is very cutely decorated and comfortable, and friendly staff even during the busiest times. A great place, we'll be back!

So many options. Just had their breakfast tacos with the red salsa, woo that was spicy and flavorful!

I legit just had one of the best breakfast tacos I have ever had in my life here!!! SHEESH!!! Both the green and red salsa were on point and that's usually hard to find at places it's usually one or the other. The jalape?o sausage kolache was bomb too along with the donuts 10/10 I would recommend ?? ????????.

This is the 2nd time we have ordered from DTP1. We used Uber Eats both times. Unfortunately they were out of regular glazed both times, but called us for replacements. The tacos here are literally the best breakfast tacos I've ever eaten. The salsa is almost on the edge of being too spicy for me but the flavor is so great that I would sacrifice my tastebuds! Today, UberEats brought us the wrong order, unfortunately, and I decided to drive to the store to pick up our actual order. The ladies there were so ap

Well to start, they have great breakfast tacos!! I go to this location at least 2-3 times a week for my company (with a few different orders, paid on seperate cards) and the ladies up front are always so nice and accomodating! On Saturday's the line is out the door so get there early :)
