The donuts were delicious. The donuts have no seed Oils, they are Fried in palm oil and the glazes use olive oil. The guy at the register was very helpful and Friendly. The atmosphere is in construction. They will be having a stage With an eatery for things like burritos and such in a couple of months. I?m very excited that they?ve moved to this location. That?s a bit easier for me to get to. Sometimes i just have to have a doughnut. Today I got a lavender English breakfast donut that is partly eaten i
Flavors purchased - Mexican hot chocolate and blueberry. Texture - It?s bouncy and kind of cake like. Definitely something I enjoyed about it that was different from most donuts. Taste - Classic donut flavor. Sweet and the flavors aren?t super strong. Personally, I have a preference for stronger flavors. The chocolate wasn?t super chocolaty and blueberry wasn?t all that tangy or strong (I know blueberry is generally hard to get right sometimes but i still would have liked more flavor). Price - I paid around
they just opened a space next door I heard they have yeast donuts on weekends $5+ that sells out. They selling other food too! con: heavy SWEET $4 donuts for dipping. Pls have flavors that are less sweet = less calories. thanks, then I'll give you 5 stars
The lavender earl grey donut is the best donut I've ever had. The donuts here are pretty sweet, but the flavors are so good! Pumpkin donut was also great. Pepples Donut Farm is a pretty cool place in general.. You'll have to come by and check them out!
I ordered a burrito and they only gave me four chips as seen in the picture. Might well not even bother putting in there. I was very disappointed but the breakfast burrito was so savory and tasty that I had to forgive them ( I did take off a star though). Also their glazed vegan donuts are so perfectly sweet and fluffy. Edit: I am giving them all their stars because I love their amazing customer service. The young ladies that served me were so nice with great hospitality! Also they gave me a free donut an
3/2/2025 NEW LOCATION! We drove by the San Pablo Ave location a couple weeks and did not see their Sign and thought, oh no! another casualty of restaurants in the Bay Area? We found the new address had since been changed on their Page, feature picture NOT. Much nicer space, same delicious Donuts and maybe some new ones too?
The best vegan donuts?.raised are the way to go. So I recommend weekends. But plain cake is also delicious. Everyone needs some donut farm donuts in their life. Their brunch items were always delicious too.
Vegan donuts for the win. I love pulling a fast one on my loved ones who aren?t vegan. I brought the goods and they could not tell it was vegan. Little location with delicious vegan donuts and coffee. Street parking. Mask required to enter.
My boyfriend is gluten/dairy free and we came here based on good ratings from the Find Me GF app. While he couldn?t have the donuts, we were mainly after brunch and the tofu scrambles were delicious! He had the Pepples scramble with avocado, and I had the Pesto scramble. Both come served with hash browns and sourdough toast, so we just left out the toast for him. I usually don?t love tofu but this dish was absolutely delicious! We are from out of town but will definitely stop back here if we?re in the area
Donut farm has a lot of organic, vegan friendly, donuts! The donuts were tasty and doughy. Kind of different from other kind of donut or cake doughnuts. The staff member was super friendly and sweet when we showed up at opening time. There?s a lot of variety of donuts and the menu always have something new or different to try.
I just want to ask you, where can you get vegan fried chicken, waffles, donuts, and poutine? This place of course. They have a sweet brunch menu on the weekend with specials. They do table service but, i like how it has a self service feel with the tableware/water. Definitely recommend the Buffalo wings and florentine "Benedict". Lastly, they have a variety of flavors of donuts. Mhmm apple fritters.
Best donuts in the Bay Area. Vegan @ Krispy Kreme level?. Melt in your mouth, light and fluffy!! Weekend only selection.
Fantastic vegan donuts, great staff. I would highly recommend anyone to check this place out if you?re craving a donut or morning treat.
sweet lord these are some awesome donuts! ?? a bit smaller than average but very cakey & hearthy which I enjoy!! on top of the dozen that we got we were also gifted the classic, fluffy type and those reminded me original style from my home country! havent tried all if flavors yet ?? but as for now lavender earl grey & the classic glazed are my winners ??
In my opinion, donuts should taste like sweet, fried dough. These donuts tasted like sweet. Just sweet. I think they just put too much of the glaze on that it overpowers the dough. The matcha tasted like green sugar, and the blueberry tasted like blueberry sugar. I like that they are a dedicated vegan donut place, and I even like that they're mostly cake donuts. But, I wish they had un-glazed cake donuts or just put a thinner glaze on the existing ones.
Unfortunately, I apparently went on a day they hadn't planned for many diners. There was only one person on the floor. It took several minutes to get menus, and over half an hour to be served. They had run out of a few things, but there were plenty of other options. The Reuben was ok, but really unbalanced: too smoky and too much sauce, which was overpowering. I know this is a casual, laid-back place, but it was disappointing.
This place has some seriously good donuts...so much so that when I briefly moved out of state, I was sad that I wouldn't get to munch on these as often. The Earl grey flavor has had me coming back for years and most recent, I tried their pumpkin spice and admittedly, it was bomb. This place is never hit or miss, it's just consistently fresh and lit.
My favorite vegan donuts! Sad they don't sell them at the ferry building anymore but I will go out of my way to get them in Berkeley.
Just noticed this place and wandered in for the first time! I live around the corner and I am in trouble now that I know about this! Cinnamon sugar donut is mouthwateringly delicious! Great addition to the neighborhood ??
Earl grey donut taste like soap. I had to immediately spit it out. Cold brew looked crusty/ grainy and I was not surprised as I came to the bottom of the cup that this was the result.
I came here with a co-worker just before Covid. We got a box of dozen to share with our office plus a couple extra for us. The only visible staff member was helpful and patient while we decided on which donuts to get. The donuts obviously aren't cheap but they're all interesting flavors and pretty hearty. Parking was easy enough on the main street.
Fantastic Boston Cream and Bavarian Creme donuts. Perfect really. The more croeller-like donuts were far too sweet for me. My wife liked the coffee but I found it not-so-great. Atmosphere not very welcoming, but the woman did make a fresh pot of coffee for us. It looks like they supply many local places with vegan donuts. A bit pricey. We paid $21 for a half-dozen donuts, which is significantly better than single donuts purchases ($3.50-4.50 each). But the Boston Creme donut was so good I must recommend the
Cutting down stars drastically because they had the audacity to ask for a tip for just picking out donuts and putting them in a paper bag. On top of that tip had 3 options: 1$, 2$ and 3$. Most expensive donut is 3.50 so even if you want to tip, they want you to pay 30% tip as the lowest option. I dont like these socially awkward scenarious these businesses create. A donut place should not ask for a tip. Also meh donuts. Nothing special.
Drove all the way from San Ramon for these vegan donuts and they were so fluffy and delicious. By far the best vegan donuts I have ever had. I just wish they were slightly bigger in size. Coming back soon to support these hardworking folks at Donut farm!
My first experience with vegan donuts. Frankly, delicious. Zero compromise on taste or texture. Recommend.
I purchased 4 donuts. It?s cake based instead of rise donut. The donut itself was pretty dry. The flavor of the glaze was okay I guess. But I can taste they are not fresh at all. Very disappointed, especially they were NOT cheap.
Okay look here folks, the donuts are excellent; they're always good, especially the specialty donuts on the weekends which SHOULD be made on weekdays too given it's A DONUT SHOP! Pricy but good. With that being said I am obviously upset that the specialty donuts are not made on weekdays, but I am TRULY upset that they do not serve hot food anymore. WHY!? I don't know, but the hot food was GREAT! Just look at the reviews. People loved it. Biscuits and gravy were FIRE. Hash browns were on POINT. The jackfruit
I've only tried the vegan donuts and they we're absolutely amazing, especially the glazed donut! The place has definitely got a nice vibe going.
Inside: Dark, not updated, but clean. Donuts: Dense, cakey. Only the top is glazed but it?s thick and the layer runs into the center hole a bit, giving a ?filling? effect. I only tried the top shelf ones. Price: Usually I expect to pay $3.00 per donut. This shop ranges $3.50-$4.00.
I love Donut Farm, Oakland/Berkeley. Honestly, I probably love it too much but if you're looking for a vegan donut, this is place.
pat had the best customer service in the world he was so nice to me and my child at making us fill welcome! the donut were so fresh and warm and made my tummy happy you can tell they were made with love!
Apple fritter was low on apple, high on oil, and yet somehow had dry parts? I wrung part of it out and got an actual puddle of oil. The people were nice. I want very much to like their stuff. Part of me hopes the cake donuts are great, and I might go back and try one. But never again to that apple fritter. Bad first experience. I gave an extra star because of staff friendliness.
Extremely poor customer service. They apparently now close at 2pm and they haven't bothered to change their schedule online or at their store front. When I told the person behind the counter that I was there 2 days before at 2:30pm and that they were closed she said, "We now close at 2pm." I kindly made her aware that that was not reflected neither online or at their store front, to which she replied, "that's not my problem". Unacceptable customer service especially when you are selling $4 donuts.
If you haven't tried a vegan donut yet please come here. The vegan food is pretty good. This is a great spot to start your day.
I had a donut craving and came in right before closing so my surprise that all their donuts are vegan. I had the glazed which was delicious, it was so soft and fluffy and had just enough glazed sugar on it. At $2.50 for glazed, I thought it was very good. My friend had the gourmet blueberry donut but I find those too dense and cake-y if you will for my taste. CC accepted.
Great place for a quick bite! The vegan donuts are amazing, although I would recommend coffee to cut the sweetness. As for foods, the gravy with the chicken and waffles is divine, and the crunch wrap that they make is tasty. The only thing that could make it a little bit better would be hot sauce.
Amazing Vegan Donuts!!! The cake donuts are super moist, flavorful, and beautiful to look at! They have seasonal flavors that don't disappoint and the classics are always good in my book. Service is great as everyone is super-friendly and chill. My favorite donut shop in the east bay by far!
Donuts are tasty, all vegan! The problem is they don't keep their website or social media up to date. They no longer serve any breakfast or food other than donuts. Their non donut food was delicious, but unfortunately they don't serve anymore. I'm hoping this changes I miss having a local delicious vegan breakfast/brunch I could count on.
Today I went out to our local @donutfarmoakland to pick up some fresh vegan donuts. I got matcha and blueberry, total classics. Then I had to spice it up a bit with lavender earl grey. Texture-wise, the donuts were crisp on the outside and nice and cakey on the inside. Flavor-wise, the matcha and blueberry were a bit mild, but when it came to the lavendar earl grey...that was 10/10! Absolutely delicious and would get again. I?m going for their Philz coffee flavor next. ??
We got a dozen donuts from here and they were all amazing! The raspberry filled was one of the best I?ve ever had. The cake was perfect and not the sickly sweet artificial taste that you can sometimes get. The cake donuts were also great and moist! Love that they?re organic and local!
Glazed donut - excellent 10/10 * Apple fritter - not much apple, but incredibly delicious. You'd never know it wasn't vegan. My friend thought it was a little overly fried, she might have had a point. Should have eaten have, it kinda did a number on my energy levels after lol. * cinnamon curl - great 9/10 * jelly donut - very good 8/10. The jelly wasn't the more pleasing texture of jelly I'm used to from say, a Dunkin jelly filling where it's almost like jam/jello. This one was more thick. All vegan p
4 stars because their donuts are great and I feel good about their ingredients. However, almost all of the donuts taste the same, there?s no distinct taste for any of the flavors. The only one I could taste was the rose: I could taste the rose water or whatever they used. Everything else just tastes like sugar. Still so delicious! I recommend for sure.
This place is so special. Everything is delicious. Vegan breakfast/brunch staple.
Never had brunch or lunch there but my friends and I all LOVE their vegan donuts, have for years. We've even converted a few skeptics (that think negatively of vegan baked goods). There citrus fruit based glazes are our favorites though there are so many delicious flavors to choose from my Saturday group usually gets a sampler of twelve donuts then cuts them into slices so everyone can have a bite or two of each flavor we get.
The is a great vegan breakfast and brunch place with amazing vegan donuts! My boyfriend and I made a purposeful detour just to get the donuts, and we were not disappointed. They have "top shelf" and "classic" donuts, but everything is delicious. They also serve brunch items of a menu, but the place is small, so expect a little bit of wait on busy mornings. Also, my boyfriend says the coffee is "kick-ass" and couldn't stop raving about it, and he's really picky about it.
FIVE STARS for the vegan donuts! These were some of the best vegan donuts I've ever had. TWO STARS for the service. I went every day for three days, but didn't appreciate being asked for a tip for having someone put 12 donuts into a box. It was something like, "Which tip option can I press for you?" Back on the search for another good vegan donut place.
It?s a wonderful donut spot. The flavors are fun, the texture is AMAZING (both donut and the glaze). Our favorite was Mexican hot chocolate and salted caramel.
Both the breakfast burrito and my chocolate coconut donut were great, I chose the tofu scramble with avocado & cashew sour cream add-ons. Even the homemade chips were good and I rarely like chips at all. The food wasn't over-seasoned the way so many places are, and all the ingredients tasted very fresh and prepared just right. The place is somewhat small but I got a table with spare room on a Friday lunch rush right away, while also mostly full and very lively with people coming and going steadily for the
Must have this doughnut. Yummiest perfection. Philz Coffee in Walnut Creek used to carry them and I bought one every week. I have been seriously mortified ever since Philz stopped carrying them. Bring Donut Farm back to Philz.
My go-to and favorite vegan donut shop in East Bay. Quality of the donuts are consistent no matter the year (I recommend trying one of the seasonal donuts on your visit). My personal favorites are the tea flavors (e.g green tea, lavender, earl grey) Also, it?s advised to come earlier in the day as they run out of options close to closing time!
This is my wife's favorite donut shop. Their apple fritters are available during weekends and are delicious. The Philz Coffee donuts are also delicious. Be sure to order in half or full dozen increments if you can, there is a price break ordering this way vs ordering individual donuts.
We've been to donut farm numerous times for their delicious vegan donuts. Today my wife decided she wanted to try the brunch. The food was very good but it was difficult waiting nearly an hour for it. What made it especially difficult was watching others that were seated after us receive their food while trying to encourage my 5 year old daughter to hold back her tears. The explanation given was an odd system in their kitchen that has many customers feeling antsy. The food was good enough to merit another v
I will go out of my way to get their tofu burger which I believe they only serve on their lunch menu. It is absolutely delicious. Also really love the pesto tofu scramble which comes with the freshest crunchiest hash browns! The doughnuts are also completely scrumptious.
The fritter was super but all other donuts are dense spheres with pasty frosting that makes them specially flavored for their names. The lady helping me was very very nice but her manager didn't seem the same :/ I like the punkiness though and will probably go there again.
I didn't realize they do brunch here, I thought it was just donuts. I brought the family around to check it out, & it has very creative and interesting vegan takes on regular breakfast foods. Portion size is decent, good tasting, and reasonable prices. You seat yourself, and pay at the register. Location is so-so, very plain decor, limited seating.
Great donuts and vegan food! A small and safe place with laid back environment. the donuts are sugarcrisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, I've only ordered the burrito with jackfruit (!) which was good, but I look forward to trying all the other dishes, especially the donuts and gravy (!!) This place reminds me of restaurants in Olympia, I will definitely be back!
Best vegan donuts ever. You would never know they are vegan. I like the glazed traditional donuts the best, and the jelly filled donuts as well. All organic, fair trade, responsibly obtained ingredients is pretty cool of them to achieve. I go here every weekend. Thanks guys!
I wouldn't give this place any stars, but I had to give one at least. I went with a group of 4 because one of us was vegan. There were several things that made this experinece unacceptable. One, we waited at least 30 minutes (or over) to be seated and no one ever came out to notify us of our table. Two, the waiter was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. We asked for some recommendations, from their already small menu. They seemed very unfamiliar with the food. Three, the food took a while to come out and when
I must say that my recent visit to Pepples Donut Farm was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the charming, rustic atmosphere of the establishment, which is nestled in the heart of Oakland's Temescal neighborhood. The donuts themselves were truly a work of art, combining unique, inventive flavors with perfectly executed pastry technique. The use of organic, locally-sourced ingredients was apparent in every bite, with the doughnut's texture and flavor profile showcasing
Best donut shop in East Bay area, serves breakfast & lunch/brunch & just happens to be 100% vegan with the tastiest Buffalo cauliflower around. Deliciously tasty, moist cake donuts, innovative flavors that do not disappoint. My new favorite donut flavor: curry coconut. Open 7 days a week, 7-3 weekdays for breakfast & lunch, 9-3 weekend brunch. Breakfast/brunch favorites include breakfast scrambles with hash browns, chickn & waffles with gravy or syrup. Lunch, try the rueben, buffalo cauliflower with ranch,
Love the Donut Farm. Awesome donuts (lots of great choices, though I'm personally a big fan of the plain cake donuts). Really like the brunch here as well (all vegan). The Chik'n & Waffles is my go-to. Staff here is always really nice.
Dangerously addictive donuts. One is not enough. Seriously they have an outstanding selection of vegan donuts with some standard And unique and even seasonal (eg pumpkin) flavors.
Those $3+ each organic donuts from that food cart at the SF Ferry building come from here. In addition to selling donuts (duh), this restaurant serves real food too - brunch and lunch! They had a special one morning of organic vegan pancakes with syrup made from candy cap mushrooms... amazing! Best syrup I've ever had (not too sweet or sticky, kind of a lightweight version of maple syrup). My friend's organic tofu scramble was also good, but not as good as those pancakes!
They have a strict code of conduct to ensure the donuts are free ranged and have a good life. The wife and I came to Donut Farm last Thursday and we were served a donut named Rosie, she was an adorable donut that liked playing in the sun and taking frosting bathes outside. We asked that she be stunned before being thrown in the fryer so her tortured screams wouldn?t upset our nice meal.
This place is HEAVEN! The quality of the pesto tofu scramble is unimaginable with the Vanilla sprinkle donut is the best items on the menu. Owner is super nice too :) Just wish there hours were more flexible :(
So cool to have a vegan donut place like this. I was staying at an Airbnb nearby and I HAD to check this place out every morning. Never disappointed! If I?m ever back in the area, I?ll definitely be back to Donut Farm.
This is my neighborhood spot and it's amazing. The coffee and donuts are bomb, the weekend menu kicks ass and includes more pastries not offered during the week like fritters. I'm lucky I also work near by and can take advantage of the weekday lunch options because they are killer. Protip: they now have an app to order through.
Great place with sweet, efficient staff and delicious donuts. I highly recommend grabbing a variety of a dozen or more and sharing with co-workers. It cost about $30 and it made our day! Every flavor was awesome and the cake-like texture was moist. Yum ??
Vegan donuts are cool and all but the food is really expensive and I just cant imagine their overhead is that high although I could be wrong. The turnover there is incredible, I never see the same person working their twice and the service is pretty bad. I work at a similar place and am very sympathetic to food service employees but I swear I feel unwelcome there. They always stare at me like I am a stranger who just walked into their living room in a leopard skin thong....
The vegan donuts are *chefs kiss* amazing lol. I acidentally ate 4 right away, they taste just like non vegan donuts and even better. I recommend the glaze when they have them and all the rest are bomb too.
Best vegan tofu burger, ?? bar none. Came with salad and I got the garlic greens of spinach, kale and collards greens cooked perfectly (I.e. not mushy and overcooked). Unique lavender tea decaf. Great place, closes at 3pm and kitchen at 2:30 for any meals . always the donuts!
I'm a new vegetarian excited to explore the world of meat substitutes, so I got the Chick'n and Waffles, and it was everything I've ever wanted in chicken and waffles! The waffle was rich and fluffy, and the Chick'n was juicy like the best cuts of dark meat, with perfect, crispy batter. Great coffee too! And out of this world donuts! If you want a great take-your-time, sit-down meal, there's basically no reason not to eat here!!
These doughnuts are quite unique. even if you aren't vegan they are worth checking out. Cake style rather than fried dough which I like a lot but may or may not be your thing. I can't speak to the rest of their menu as I've not stayed beyond picking up a few doughnuts to go.
Very attentive staff and safe ordering system allowing one group in shop at a time. Come early or expect a long wait during weekend. We arrived just before 10am and waited 20-30 min for full order including hot food to be fulfilled. But so worrth the wait and helps that all patrons are respectfully patient for this small but mighty operations team. Besides the donuts, unsuspecting Damn good coffee and the tastiest"chikken" nuggets on their brunch menu.
I'm really disappointment with the Donut Farm. I woke up early this morning just to make sure I was there when the shop opened up so I could get a fresh donut. When I got there, I was poorly greeted by the attendant. She exhibited poor, discourteous behavior. For instance, she wasn't attentive, never making any eye contact, and keeping her back to me while mumbling. She then mumbled under her breath. I couldn't hear her because her tone was so low and her back was facing me. So, I asked her to repeat what s
The food is great but today they were a bit understaffed so the wait Service was slow. The doughnuts are expensive but very delicious. My Non Vegan Son enjoyed the food. The Waffles are the best out all the Vegan restaurants in the area.
One of the weirder breakfast experiences I?ve had. We were seated quickly on a Sunday morning - we should have known it was too good to be true. Each thing we tried to order they unapologetically said they were out of. We finally ordered a donut and two iced coffees. She brought the donut to the table in a bag. We asked if we could have it to stay - we were seated at a table after all, to which she replied ?I didn?t have a plate so I just put it there,? and then sullenly walked away. Our iced coffees arrive
Expected to be bored with these cake donuts. Instead found myself running away lest I buy AND eat a dozen of these tasties. With some inventive flavors, and certainly some TLC to make them great. Was bummed to learn they have menus for various meals. Will have to go back and check out the regular eats here. And yes, all vegan.
Super solid cake donuts! Especially for being vegan! Don't get me wrong, they stand on their own as great cakey donuts, not just "Good, for vegan donuts." Would definitely go back to if I'm in the hood and craving donuts! If you're a donut junkie "Gotta catch em all" type, this is def't worth a pit-stop. Would be psyched if they had espresso and gluten free options #firstworldproblems
I want to love this place so bad. The donuts are amazing however every SINGLE time I go they are usually out of something. I usually go first thing in the morning when I get off work around 9-9:30am and either the chef hasn?t come yet or there?s no produce or something else. Today when I arrived again, no tomato?s for pico AND the tables were filthy with old food on every single table. All I?m saying is do better donut farm. Do better ??
The staff is not consistently on time to open the shop. There have been multiple occasions over 30 min to an hour late. Note that is mostly the front facing staff. The kitchen staff is diligently on time making donuts/other food
This place is hard to find! My GPS was saying it was on one side of the street, when it was actually on the other side. Just make sure to look for the PINK DONUT in front of the street. We got 4 donuts: matcha, blueberry, salted carmel, and earl grey. The total came out to be around $11. For donuts! I appreciate the fact that these donuts are vegan and organic. But none of the flavors really wowed me.
Love this place. Wish they still had breakfast but I still go for donuts and coffee. They?re best.
O.M.G. You have to try Pepples! Like right now.....what are you waiting for? I have tasted most of the flavors (there are a lot to choose from) but blueberry is definitely my favorite. You can't really go wrong with any of them though so don't worry. I still can't believe their vegan (not that that matters to me). This place is magical!
The donuts are always amazing, but the risen donuts are particularly perfect. All the food is so good. One of my favorites breakfast spots, plus all vegan!
The staff was very kind, however the donuts were greasy, overly sweetened and tasted like old oil. I was also disappointed that it was impossible to distinguish between the different flavors based on taste.
I came here last year hungry and eager for donuts. i was made to feel fabulous by the staff. me and my gay husband were served by the lovely aubrey and i'd like to share with you a poem my other half penned that i think really sums up the whole experience. A is for the aftertaste of which was so divine U is for the underlying hint of mighty fine B is for the beauty of the product i behold R is for the roundness of my donuts magic hole E is for the ecstasy of this yummy tasty treat Y is for the yearning i c
Not great and kinda racist. The first two things I ordered they didn't have, so that kinda ticked me off.... the food I got was ok, but not great. And I watched the white waitstaff be very friendly to all the white people coming in, but they watched this black lady like a hawk. I'm black too, and I noticed they started watching me, but they stopped when they saw me looking at them. Im going back today for the biscuits and gravy. So ill report what happens
