Food 4/5: Jalape?o sausage roll BEST IVE EVERY HAD. Glazed donut nor my style, but not to say it?s bad. It?s a bit dense and vanilla-y.
This is mine and my husbands favorite place to get Kolaches & Breakfast Biscuits. I also took some to share at work and they were a hit. The staff is always helpful and friendly. There's only 2 tables inside so don't plan on eating there with the family haha
We ordered several dozen red & yellow donuts for a six year old's Pokemon birthday party, and they were great! Kids and adults loved them. Ordering and pick-up was straightforward and easy. We'll definitely be back.
I've been patronizing Donut Crown for years and can honestly say they treat people very respectfully. I've been there many times with small children excitedly looking at the multi-colored donuts, having a terrible time deciding, and the employees showing no sign of frustration. You can get everything from cake donuts, yeast donuts, cinnamon rolls, and kolaches here. They also sell bags of donut holes. Donuts aren't overly sweet, and are always fresh. My favorite (non-mochi) donuts on Austin. Always fresh, reasonably priced and delicious. I only wish the stayed open later so I could indulge for dessert, too.
The donuts are good I will give them that, but the service is such a mess. The signage on the donuts is confusing, because there is a variety of items behind one sign for instance eclairs. One sign says Chocolate eclair, but there are two different kinds behind the sign. When you ask the girl that works there what is the difference, she is super snappy. "One is maple, obviously, simple." was the exact reply we got when we inquired about the difference. They have signs that just say old fashioned but 4 diffe
100 percent the best glazed donuts in Austin. It is simple, fluffy, doughy, just the right amount of glaze and cooked in clean oil so it is not greasy. I have tried every donut over a 4.0 rating in Austin. Most are overrated. The sausage rolls are not bad either, and the atmosphere and service are fine, but if you are looking for a really good simple donut this is the spot!

The Shipleys in this town are awful compared to the rest of central Texas, so I prefer the mom and pop type shops in Austin. Donut Crown has hands down the best Kolaches that I?ve had in Austin. You could go to Shipleys or Lone Star Kolaches right up the road, but you?d pay more for an inferior product. Plus, this is the only spot I?ve found in Austin that has Boudin Kolaches! Solid ones too. Bonus points from a Louisiana guy. Great staff, great bites.
I have been going to this place for years and have always been pleased to see my favorites are available. I used to live nearby and I go to church right down the road making this place an easy stop when I'm in a hurry. The coffee is just perfect for me and the blueberry donuts are heavenly! I always enjoy the different kolaches and the donuts with maple icing are a great sugar rush. I highly recommend shopping this local favorite! Just go! Note: seating is limited but usually there is an open table.
Crown Donuts is a great place! The employees were very nice and helped us with whatever we needed. The donuts were deliciously amazing! They were soft, fresh, and because we came in 7 minutes before closing, they added a few donut holes for free!

OMG! My sister kept telling me to try this place that their breakfast sandwiches and donuts were top notch! Where has this place been all my life!? Holly cow! I had their croissant breakfast sandwich. That was soooooooooooo yummy! I also brought a dozen donuts for the guys at my office. WOW! Those were excellent! They were fresh, yummy and still warm. I'm so going back there for more. I wish I had tried them sooner!
Kolaches are old. The sausage is old. A fresh sausage should not look old, wrinkled and hard at the ends. I know I used to work at a doughnut shop as head cook.
Best donuts in town! We have been coming here for over 10 years. We?ve tried other donut shops in town and none can compare to the Crown :) Be sure to try the apple fritter - you won?t regret it! My daughter says she is so happy it?s here.
Their donuts are nothing special. And I went in a Saturday at 10am and they were almost completely out of donuts. Most of their flavors were gone. I asked if they were making more and they said ?no?. The atmosphere is very basic. They need to try a little harder or they?re going to lose that crown.

Staff was friendly enough, so I left a $5 tip on $15 worth of donuts, and I wish I'd just went nextdoor to McDonald's in the first place. Bought a dozen mixed and a apple fritter gave 3 / 13 a try , all were stale, at least a day Old, not exactly what I had in mind, it was before 6 am, not like they were out or had the opportunity to sit all day. They weren't even room temperature , they were literally cold. Threw them in the dumpster where they belonged. Will never visit again.
Best donuts EVER! They last 2 days or more without losing soft, fluffyness. Not overly sweet or engulfed in icing. The vanilla, frosted coconut, maple, and blue raspberry are my favorite. I wish they were open all day.
Best donuts in the area IMHO... I always try to find SOME excuse to stop by before they shut the doors (usually around 1 PM). Top choices are the blueberry cake donuts and their regular glazed. I challenge you not to eat them in your car before you even get to the donuts' intended destination!

They have really good sausage jalape?o cheese kolaches. I start every morning with two kolaches and an apple fritter. I have never had an apple fritter so good, it's like they took and amazing funnel cake and added some apples. Perfect. They also have cherry and banana fritters, both really good. Great donuts and a good price. Very friendly and welcoming to someone that's there almost every morning.
