I stopped by this bakery to pick up Henry's birthday cake. The staff there were friendly and nice. I got a half sheet ube cake for $58, and I really enjoyed the flavor. It had a hint of coconut and was not too sweet. The cake was beautifully decorated. However, when I inquired about ordering a custom cake for my event in June, I was disappointed to learn that they are no longer taking orders. The place seemed clean and organized. Overall, it's a great spot if you're looking for delicious ube cake.
I probably called 3 times after my initial order for various changes (cake size, fruit topping, pickup time) and they were so accommodating each time! My event got moved up last minute (Thursday to Wednesday) and I was so grateful that I could pick up the half sheet ube cake one day earlier!! Not saying this will be the case for everyone but I was so pleased with their service. (I have had cake from this place at least 10 times but this was my first time ordering!)
Wonderful bakery in Columbia City. The donuts were excellent! Nice variety of pastries as well - guava strudel, ube croissant, mango empanada! I especially loved the Ube filled donut. Can?t wait to go back.
I came across this wonderful place by accident years ago. Best last minute decision EVER!! I live in the Des Moines area and when I crave donuts, this is the only place I go! Their donuts are to perfection EVERY time I order!! Their maple bars and croinuts are my fave!! Well worth the drive and cost.
Delite Bakery has been a staple in my life since I was a young child, even before they were located in this current building. Their pastries are always fresh and delicious. They are also so much cheaper than local coffee shop prices. The people are friendly as well. If I'm not mistaken, the owners are Filipino so they offer some items that may be hard to find elsewhere. Go early in the morning if possible for the best selection. edit 03.08.2023 [the above info was as of 2017] The prices have risen slightl
I ordered a giant (full sheet) cake for my son?s birthday. The cake was beautiful and they were very nice to work with. However, the vanilla custard filling was clearly spoiled - it tasted like blue cheese. It was embarrassing serving this to a large group. I will not be purchasing from them again.
I just had an Ube donut and it was so delicious! if you haven?t tried it yet, it is a must. another favorite it the Pan de leche, one of my family?s all time favorites.
This place has been a staple in Seattle cake world! Their cakes are always moist. Their fillings compliment every flavor of cake they offer, and their icing is very unique. It's light and fluffy. ????
Some of the very best Filipino pastries and cakes in the Seattle area. If anyone knows a better bakery let me know, I love doughnuts and pastries and the best part is sharing them with family and friends.
Dirty -merchants!!! Understand that there is a .50 cent charge on cc under 10 bucks?but most merchants when the charge with cc fee is rounded up past $10 will just run it for 10.01. The fact u weren?t charge the cc fee and made out with additional.25 cents & 25 on the front it shows I really don?t care about ur customers :(
I highly recommend this bakery for birthday cakes. Everyone at the party enjoyed the cake. You know how sometimes when you have a birthday cake, you?ll see plates in the trash with a bunch of frosting because it?s too sweet. Not the case with this cake. It was coconut flavor but not too heavy on coconut at all which even those who don?t like coconut enjoyed it.
A great Filipino bakery! This bakery has fresh made baked goodies nearly every day! Affordable prices and a variety of goods, including baked goods with Ube! I also had a filled yeast risen donut and it was super soft and fluffy. I recommend bring cash if you?re planning on making purchasing under $10 as they do charge a credit card usage fee.
This bakery gives me great memories. My dad used to bring me here everytime we went to beacon hill. Donuts ?? hum bao ??
Donuts, croissants, and cookies are delicious! Sometimes a little too sweet for me, but the kids enjoy it so much. We love the portions of everything they have, and the ladies who work here are always very sweet. We ordered a pandan cake here a few months back, and it was one of the best we?ve ever had. Cute little place for a sweet treat.
I have been coming here since I was a young girl. Since I was around the neighborhood, I got my favorites. Somehow the recipe for the purple yam (ube) changed! It does not have the same taste and looks different. What has changed? This looks like water, flour and food coloring. Please bring back the original Ube!
I hadn't been to Despi Delite for a few years, but was in the area and stopped in. They are a Filipino bakery that has been around for a long time. I see a lot of their baked goods all around at Seattle grocery stores. I visited Despi Delite after 2pm on a Friday afternoon and was the only customer there. They had a lot of choices still available. They had donuts, cakes, cookies, Mexican breads and pastries, cheesecakes, etc. After processing all of the choices, I ended up getting a peanut and almond cream
Hidden (to some) gem of Seattle. I agree with some of the reviews that certain items are very sweet. However, it is pretty easy to dodge those if that?s not what you?re in for. The ube bread is out of this world though!! My friends got me the ube cake for my bday, definitely a crowd pleaser.
A perennial favorite for all things pastries; doughnuts, croissants, etc. There's also pan dulce, steamed buns, cakes and flans. Friendly staff, clean environment, fast service and all with a smile.
These guys have been ruining my diet for the last year. Their pan de ube is soo good. Love these guys.
One of the best Apple fritters I've had in a long time! This place is a hidden gem ??
Great neighborhood bakery in Beacon Hill. From doughnuts, cakes, pastries, they have variety of baked goods. I liked their old fashion doughnut and fried mochi on a stick. Staffs are very friendly. There is a small parking lot.
One of the better bakeries around. It?s absolutely incredible. Guava pastries and the mango empanadas are my favorite thing in the world.
Delight Bakery absolutely deserves its name! I recently stopped in and was blown away by their selection of delicious treats. The cheese and coconut danishes were incredible - soft, fresh, and buttery pastry filled with a rich and creamy cheese and coconut filling. It was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. And let's not forget the butter bread! So soft and flavorful, it practically melts in your mouth. I can tell they use high-quality ingredients and put a lot of love into their baking. I'll definite
Omg Best Old Fashioned Donuts $1.50 Each. They are a little bit oversized. They only have them on Fridays and Saturdays. Bummer. Crispy on the outside is the best!
Super disappointed in their mini ube bread. I guess I should?ve read the ingredients before I bought them but I didn?t. When I tried one and thought it didn?t taste like ube at all, turns out they don?t even have any ube or any other type of yam listed in their ingredients?!!?!! Not only was this expensive but it doesn?t even have ube in it. You can?t say this is ube bread when it doesn?t even have ube???? If I could give 0 stars I would. Never buying from this bakery ever again.
Really good Filipino pastries and cakes! Friendly staff and prices are reasonable!
Both cashiers were more interested in a customer with a dog. Finally one of them came to help us. My blueberry croissant was burnt/ over baked on the bottom, and not much blueberry. My grandson's choc cream donut good. I don't live in the city so when I come to the city we always stop at delite bakery. I have to check my food before I leave or just don't go there anymore.
Apple fritters to die for. No nonsense, affordable prices, a true delight on Beacon Hill.
My family has been enjoying these delicious donuts and Filipino treats for decades. Today we bought just a few bits of deliciousness ??
The donuts were yummy, but the filled ube donut I bought was 90% dough and just the tiniest smidgen of filling.
I love coming here! Their filipino cakes and pastries are reminiscent of home where cakes are light and not overly sugary. I become a little girl in a candy store when I come here! Their breads, Turon, and cakes rolls made with buttercream icing are divine!
Awesome bakery! I had coffee and donuts. The service was fast )there were quite a few customers but employees kept coming out of the back room (probably shifting from work back there to help customers?) and soon we were all served. Nice staff. I?m kind of a donut officianado and the donuts were TOP NOTCH. All in all a great place!!
Brittany made 2 cakes for our wedding (2 tiered display cake and serving sheet cake) and they were both spectacular. I'm not a big fan of cake in general, but her ube cake with macapuno filling was SOOO GOOD. Not too sweet either. Our guests loved it as well and went back for seconds - hands down, best ube cake in the Seattle area.
Mixed. Some items are good but some are not. Donuts were good. But anything ube has no real ube - it's artificial flavor and dyes. Filling of cream puff was not cream.. More like spun sugar/marshmallow. Donut. Staff is very friendly.
3.5 - 4 stars. Bought a couple of croissants, that were pretty good
These pastries are so good . Try the croissants. The cakes are really good too. Should go to the bakery to order . Anytime I'm in the area I always stop. I live in west seattle .
My favorite spot for sheet cakes and donuts! I've ordered here for years, the sheet cakes are wonderful, favorite flavor combo is ube with coconut filling, they use a light whip cream frosting. It's always a hit at all parties we host, I sometimes buy a quarter sheet just to enjoy when there's no birthdays happening haha. Their donuts are so yummy, love the maple bars, the dough itself is super soft and very fluffy. Easy to eat a ton, so be careful. Only thing I wouldn't recommend is their individual sli
This is a nice bakery that also has a selection of Filipino foods like pastries (or kakanin), siopao and Filipino empanadas. I bought some mini ube bread and hopia monggo, and they were both really good.
I have given this bakery 3 chances. As much as I would like to like their baked goods, it never happened. Not sure why people rave about their ube products... I tried their ube buns and ube cake. Both were disappointing, if not disguisting. The purple stuff they had as the filling in their "ube" buns was merely some tasteless purple sticky jello-like stuff that tasted nothing like ube but a sugary paste. Their "ube" cake was just a big piece of plain cake that was purple. In fact, the cake itself was next
I love this bakery. I was just introduced to this just a week ago! I came today and let?s just say that I?m obsessed with the glazed donuts. Anyone who wouldn?t give this a nice review is probably very white but I?m Filipino myself and this gem in Seattle is a great place for if you have a sweet tooth. Definitely recommend!
Used to be good. Not sure why the ube roll and mocha roll I got there got bad after 2 or 3 days. It tasted like mold. It was so hard to eat and I thought it's just one roll but both tasted like mold. I kept gagging and vomited each time I tried to eat a slice.
I?ve eaten their pan de sal since I was a child. Their ensamayda is my favorite. The taste is exactly like the bakery next to my grandparents in the Philippines. I?ve ate their bread products now for 30 years and the flavor and quality has never changed. Truly a one of a kind bakery. Love that my children get to enjoy such delicious I grew up on.
I originally came here for a late birthday cake but when I saw the donuts I couldn't resist! I got an apple fritter, glazed twist, maple bar, and Boston cream. LET ME TELL YOU, I immediately went to eat the Boston. This is one, if not THE BEST donuts I've ever had. The ingredients taste so fresh. The custard is TO DIE FOR. The chocolate is exquisite. I am FOR SURE coming back here again!!!
Huge and deliciously addictive donuts. I especially recommend the maple bars and the old fashioneds. My coworkers used to run up here from our SODO location during our break and pick up a dozen. We called the maple bars "aircraft carriers" because of their size.
Had a day of donut ranking with friends and Despi took our crown for best donut in Seattle, but literally everything is good here from the pigs in a blanket to the ube cake!
Been coming here since I was a kid. Happy to see that they are still producing top quality goods! Very friendly staff. Many of my colleagues live in the Philippines and they always get excited when I send them pictures of what I bought here for my family or friends.
I've been a customer here for years. I love the baked goods and the people that work here are a joy. My fav item are all the ube offerings! Their taho is so good as well which is a tapioca, tofu, dessert with syrup in a cup.
Great ube stuff. I can't get it where I live even though I like it quite a bit, so I always make a point to stop here when I'm in town.
The ube cheesecake, ube cake, mocha cake, and pan de Coco are amazing! Can't wait to try more.
Amazing Apple fritters and spinach stuffed croissants ??
Heard plenty about this bakery, and finally got around to trying some donuts. Good flavor and, they do use cake-flourin their donuts, so they had nice flavor and texture. Have yet to try their breads and cakes, and will do that soon. The counter help didn't seem real interested about being accurate about my selections but, she seemed more concerned with collecting what I owed, more than being accurate with my small order. That can kill an experience, especially if the help was more interested in doing some
We stop by here with every trip to Seattle, My daughter has a real weakness for the custard rolled cakes and probably a dozen+ donuts. Helps during traffic times and definitely is delicious.
I had their pineapple custard cake and their taro cake. The pineapple cake had great well balanced fruit-and-sweetness with appropriate fluffiness. The taro one was good but a little more artificial tasting. I lived in Beacon Hill and had been here in 2005 or 2006 and had not been impressed, but this was much better.
I paid for 6 sandwiches to pick up .I was unable to pick up my child was sick. I asked to change the items since the sandwiches were old they told me i had to eat the 5 day old tuna sandwich and could not help me. So they kept my money and The sandwiches and now i have lost $23.00 and nothing in return
Best croissants and donuts around!! I can't drive by without stopping here especially when my kid sees that sign. Lol. We've ordered all our birthday cakes from here because the cake is light and fluffy with beautiful decorations and amazing frosting. One of those rare places that are family owned but don't skimp on ingredients just to cut costs. Simply extraordinary.
We bought a big sheet cake for my wife's birthday. I think we paid $100.00 too much. Even so, we did like the ube flavored cake, not too sweet. At the time we impulsively bought an egg custard pie. The crust needed another ten minutes at 400 degrees in the oven -- really undercooked. The filling had some vague sweetness but no flavor. One of our credit cards shows a $200.00 credit from Despi Delite Bakery, but neither my nor I know what it was for. Did they charge us twice and back out one charge? Did th
Honest to goodness; this is the best bakery for donuts in the Puget Sound. And I have eaten at every donut-house, bakery, delicatessen in the northwest. Nothing is as consistently as good. Top Pot is a pound cake of all the same taste next to this place. Honestly, try it.
Where do I start, everything is Good from here especially the ube cake its soo good it is one of those gotta try cakes. Definitely gotta go try this place one of the best Filipino pastry shops around Seattle.
All time favorite bakery! The maple bars are huge and soft and fluffy! The pork humboe are delicious! There are a bunch of specialty items as well
This bakery is awesome, its not american its Filipino, so expect some other sweet goodies here that you wont find in another bakery. Most of all its all freshly made in the back daily! Heard of lechon? They take orders on those too. Overall great place to grab freshly made breads to donuts to cakes for occasions. Definitely give them a try!
I come here for my Filipino desserts and breads. Not to mention all their other fresh cooked/baked goodness. If I need an ube fix I know I can count on them to have me covered. They also have cronuts, maple bars with bacon and a to die for apple fritter. The pork or chicken siopao are so delicious and filling. The customer service is great and they are always willing to answer questions.
Fruit cake that I ordered was perfect. Taste and presentation. Large and fresh strawberries were the toppings.. Not too sweet. Just a right ending our Indian butter chicken meal. Apple fritters are always a hit. Their mongo hopia is as delicious as I was remember when I was younger.
First time here today. Decided to give it a try after my V.A. appointment. I got the apple fritter. Really enjoyed it. It's big and full of flavor. Kinda pricey at $2.50 each. You will also pay a .50 cent surcharge if you spend under $10 or use a card. Very friendly staff.
We bought a cake celebrating a team member's 20th year anniversary with our company. Despi Delite was able to put out logo on the cake no problem. And the cake was delicious ??.
Actually my first time to taste their Siopai, cakes and other stuff. I am from Germany and we don't have this there..I am glad my sister brought me with her.
My favorite bakery in the city. (Yes, including the "big name" ones.) Their highlights are (in no particular order): 1) Almond creme bear claws 2) Banana-leaf-wrapped coconut cakes (so moist and amazing...) 3) Pork steamed buns (these are distinctly different from the "normal" steamed BBQ pork buns you find all over, and I like them better. They also have chicken, but the pork is better IMO.) 4) Flan. It's the "flan de queso" style that ends up being like a cross between flan and cheesecake. And it is
This is by far the best Phillipino bakery in Seattle. Friendly staff, clean, and of course, a boatload of sweets. You don't have to be Pinoy to enjoy this place.
If you haven't had Delite bakery, YOU NEED TO GET THERE! This place is AMAZING. Each and every item I've tried here has been WONDERFUL. They specialize in Phillipino deserts but they do carry your standard American items as well. Even if you're not in the area this small bakery is worth a trip!
The red velvet cupcakes and cookies n cream cheesecake are soooooo good. I would've posted a pic but they did not last that long ??. They also make amazing cakes. Highly recommend.
i stumbled upon this bakery by coincidence and it?s been a mainstay for my visit to seattle! delicious pastries with unique flavors and at an amazing price ??
We love Despi! Not only are their daily items exceptional, but we were blown away by the wedding cake we got from them. Brittany and team executed our vision flawlessly and our guests are now all Ube (purple yam) converts. Thank you Despi Delite and Brittany! See you soon!
Very average bakery. They have a weird pizza thing on some type of croissant dough that is kind of good. The donuts are fine. The cronuts aren?t worth it. The ladies are nice.
Hidden gem, if you want great dessert that is a little different check this place out. I recommend anything Ube or Almond type desserts. Coming back again for sure. Also they require mask for covid safety which made me feel comfortable.
Awesome Filipino bakery - fast, efficient service, yummy desserts with solid pricing ranges. They take cake orders, too; try their exotic Guava and Mango-flavored ones!
Britt did an amazing job on my daughters baby shower cake. I found a picture on pinterest and she was able to bring it to life. Down side is that it was about $180, that is expensive considering it literally only feeds 20 and I had to buy my own crown. She offered to supply the crown and deliver but at an additional costs which was around $220.The original cake from my photo had 2 pillows on top of each other but the quote for that was almost $400. I decided on just the one pillow and found a crown on Amazo
Terrible customer service! I called the bakery earlier this week asking if they would be open during the snowstorm they assured me they will be open. I had time to reschedule but they took upon themselves to make the cake early without my consent. So I had no choice but to pick up the cake. Their excuse was other customers were asking for their cake to be made early, but I was not one of those customers. The birthday party had to be rescheduled and now I?m out a cake. Paid for a full sheet cake and now it?s
Honestly so good. The ube donuts are to die for. Authentic and delicious, I drive from Tacoma just for this place.
Everything is baked fresh daily. The Sho-bao is perfect. The doughnuts melt in your mouth. These great folks also make cakes for every occasion. Bring cash if you just want one or two. Best to buy a dozen because you're going to want more.
Best Filipino Baked goods in town, and VERY Affordable!!!! They won a very hard to win over customer today! (My Wife.) We will be making weekly trips from Fredrickson...
Love this place! My husband and I have gone here since they opened 17 or 18 years or so ago! I love the fresh baked goods, friendly faces and warm welcomes!!
The only place where i will go for ube cake! By far the best ive ever had 100% recommend. Sheet cake is a whipped cream icing and the roll is more of a butter cream. I prefer the $27 sheet.
Great bakery, friendly staff, all kinds of Filipino delights. The fried bananas with jackfruit are my fave ?? oh and they make great doughnuts too
I came in just to buy a dozen of their bibingka rice cake to bring back home to Vegas/Colorado. Ended up walking out with more than I expected. Excellent ube roll, bibingka and red velvet cupcake. Sansrival is mediocre. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town and try others special "delites." Customer service: good too!
Every time I call to order a cake they never answer the phone. I've called over 10 times through their open business hours on several different days.
I love delight bakery Their donuts are the absolute best. Better then crispy creams they use less sugar and the donuts are nice and fluffy.
The cronut I had was really good! If I could've heated it up it would've been bomb! Very affordable. In a nice little neighborhood right off the Beacon hill link rail station.
Filipino pastry, doughnuts and desserts; bibingka, ube filled doughnuts, chicken and vegetable stuffed pastries, pan de sol and much more. Everything's delicious!
Purchased digital image Witcher 3 cake for my son's birthday. Excellent cake as usual. This is where I go for birthday and mother's day cakes exclusively for as long as I can remember. Highly recommended.
